Nice classic cosy mystery - this time with three different investigators working in unison - to solve a murder in a medieval mansion, featuring a ensemble cast of characters, assembled to watch a new play.

I like these type of mysteries - enough there to keep me occupied for an afternoon's entertaining reading.

This is a cozy English House Mystery. The cast of an opening play are gathered at the house of the playwright for dinner. When a guest dies they are all trapped there until the killer is found. The mystery was OK but I was able to figure out the killer early on. I liked some of the characters but I found police rather unbelievable. They had questionable investigative techniques. I was also bothered by some of the derogatory terms used about some of the characters. Overall this was just an fair mystery for me.

This one is definitely for classic British murder mystery fans. A successful playwright invites his actors for dinner on his country estate (a dark, medieval building). All the usual characters are there: a morose housekeeper, the older, charismatic actor,a highly strung director,a married "ladies man" and his actress wife and many more...And of course, on this cold, rainy november night, murder happens. In order to solve this crime, all the guests are asked(ordered )to remain in this gloomy house.
Sometimes it feels so good to read a murder that shouts "Golden Age ",especially if it is a good story.
Highly recommended for Ngaio Marsh fans(and Agatha Christie fans,and....)Just very, very "nice"

Sorry, but I could not get this to work. I tried translating it, using different programs - all to no avail.
