Lord Wainwright wagers to become respectable however Miss Camellia falls into his pathway and plans. The second book in this series brings the reader back to the regency ton with intrigue and roles to play while these two find their answers and future. Enjoy this author's characters and settings . Looking forward to the third book.

Ebook from netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.

I received an advanced copy of this book for an honest review.

Camellia Grenville is the quiet older sister who has never been courted and has resigned herself to spinsterhood. Her parents agree that she must marry a much older man whom she barely knows, in order to step aside and give her younger sisters a chance to make satisfactory matches. To Camellia, who must move after her marriage to Scotland and away from her beloved family, it feels that she will wither and die before she has had a chance to really live.

As a favor to her sister Dahlia, she attends a masquerade in her place to drum up sponsors for Dahlia's school. At the ball she meets a masked man who is also lonely and they spend the time talking. She has no idea that the man is Lord Wainwright, a reputed rake who seemingly discards women as soon as he is finished with them. Camellia and Lord Wainwright continue to meet at the weekly balls and fall in love, even though neither knows the identity of the other.

As fate would have it, Camellia and Wainwright DO know each other. His opinion of her is that she is a mousy, although attractive, woman and she thinks he is blindingly handsome but shallow and cruel. Eventually they come to discover the identity of the other. Will their blossoming romance survive when they learn with whom they have fallen in love?

This story is well written and the characters are well developed. I am looking forward to reading more books in the series.

Lord of Pleasure is a witty, funny, sweet and emotional romance.

Lord of Pleasure was a very, very delightful read. It was very, very exciting as if I'm the one attending parties (masquerade in this one). There's a strong tension building for the main characters and having that gradually rewarded (about 70% of the book) was so satisfying as if I'm the one who reached my peak of pleasure. Everything about this book was just greatly pleasing.

Erica Ridley was very articulate with her words. It's not just about her apt usage of dead words but by the way she composes her prose that transports you to 19th century London and the way she'd capture your heart for Lady X's and Lord X's romance. I love her metaphors.

Loved this book, it was a lot of fun. Love Camellia and Lord Wainwright and their interaction at the masquerade balls when they didn't know who each other were. Can't wait for the next story.

This was the first book that I read in the Rogues to Riches series. I was afraid that by the title of this book it would just be about sex. I took a leap and dove into the pages of a wonderful story. If you have read the Dukes of War series and liked it, then you will like this book too. After reading this one, I got book one of this series to see how it compared. i would give that one 4 stars, however this one is a five star read. I will continue to read more of the Rogues to Riches Series.

Although something of a trope, I sincerely love when a masquerade storyline is done well. There's also something charming about the rogue who's trying to be better plot that I thought was done quite well in the book. I was willing to overlook how exactly our heroine managed to sneak out of the house four times in a month, as she and the hero had such wonderful chemistry. The ending was especially appropriate. Based on this book, I would definitely seek out other novels in the series.

This is one of my favorite stories by Erica Ridley so far in her writing history. Great fun to read. This Historical Romance is just what I needed. It satisfied my craving for all things that made up this book. As always, I look forward to the next one with no doubt in my mind that I'll enjoy it too.

I really enjoyed this book. Quirky characters, funny banter, a bit of Cinderella.

Do they dare to become the person that is hiding behind the mask? Can the wallflower tame the rake? Or will the rake seduce the wallflower?

Lord of Pleasure was a delightful read with masquerade balls, a scandalous rakish Earl and a mousy, but respectable lady. I had such fun reading this story, and can't wait for more in this well done series.

I'm a big Erica Ridley fan, and I think she really nailed it with Lord of Pleasure.

I have to admit, I was a tiny bit disappointed in Lord of Chance. It wasn't bad, but I just didn't connect with the storyline, and I was afraid that the entire Rogues to Riches series wouldn't work for me. I'm thrilled that I was wrong.

Right away I was in this story. I absolutely love a reformed rake story, and combine that with a masquerade plot... heaven!

Both characters really worked for me. From the good girl trying to break free from her family's expectations to the misunderstood Lord Wainwright, I just fell in love. Sure, I found it hard to believe that a pretty girl like Camillia Grenville with a known musical talent could be so fully ignored and written off, but I just ignored those details and enjoyed the story.

Lord of Pleasure had a hopeful vibe and a great pace that made the 300+ pages fly by. It was romantic, interesting, and entertaining and I didn't want to put it down. Yes, it isn't going to break boundaries or redefine the genre, but it was a very satisfying, well written story.

I absolutely loved this story!! Miss Camellia Grenville and her sisters were such delightful characters! I found myself laughing out loud at some of their antics, Michael Rutland, Earl of Wainwrightt, seemed to be able to do nothing right. But it was so much fun seeing him try! When Camellia decides infiltrates the ton's most scandalous masquerade ball, she meets a masked stranger known only as Lord X while she is known as Lady X. Little do they realize who each other is!! And Camellia is not a fan of Lord Michael. Let the fun begin!

Loved this story!! I particularly loved that they fell for each other without ever knowing who the other was and what they looked like. There is something to be said for that intellectual connection and that is not often part of the storyline in historical romances.

Another hit out of the park for Ridley! I eagerly await the next book in the series!

LORD OF PLEASURE is the second of six books planned for release in the Rogues to Riches series. Each has a Cinderella theme with a unique twist.

Remember Lambley’s hedonistic, invitation-only, masquerade’s? For one night, Camellia will shed her life as the dutiful daughter facing a planned marriage to a respectable (b-o-r-i-n-g) gentleman and live as Lady X. Unknown behind her beautiful feathered mask, she can be herself instead of the perfect miss that society insists that all ladies must be at all times. She is dressed as a princess and is rescued by her prince who spends a beautiful though brief evening with her. She even runs away at midnight and he is left not knowing who his beautiful maiden is.

Oh, yeah! It is absolutely an adult fairy-tale. Not in the sense that there was a fairy godmother. Unless you want to cast Lambley in that role, though I doubt it fits him. Instead, it was a fairy tale romance as you see the two of them falling for each other’s hearts long before each knows who the other is in society. Absolutely sigh-worthy!

The next book is about one of Camellia’s sisters and she has herself in one heck of a pickle! I’m really looking forward to reading it and the rest of the books in this series.

Note: while I was given this book as a gifted ARC, through NetGalley, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Michael Rutland, Earl of Wainwright, has been named "the Lord of Pleasure" by London "society" and appears daily in the press "caricatures". While he really does like people and enjoys life, he is not the shallow rake that he is portrayed to be. Camellia Grenville is the oldest of three sisters and has always tried to be the "good" child, never making trouble for her parents, but she does have dreams of her own that she has not shared even with her sisters, her best friends. At 26, she considers herself a spinster, until her mother suddenly announces that she is to be married to a much older man, who lives far away. She is devastated by the news, but will not "make waves", as she realizes that younger sisters can not marry until she does. Her sisters do not agree with her and one of them hands her a ticket to a infamous masquerade ball. As she feels it is the last exciting thing she will do in her life, she agrees to go and there meets a man that first she enjoys his company and slowly after meeting him at each subsequent ball, falls for. But one of the rules of the ball is the masks stay on and no one can reveal identities. Michael, has fallen in love with his mysterious Mrs. X, but doesn't know how to find her. To make matters worse, because of a misunderstanding the Grenville girls loath the Earl. How will they get their happy ending? The authors writes enchanting tales that draw the reader in and make it hard to put down the book.

Night rendezvous behind masks. A proper spinster wanted to taste affair just for a month and a delicious rake who's surprisingly having depth and lonely heart. It's a delicious historical romance. The chemistry between Camellia and Wainwright is strong. I just expected to see more details of the lord of pleasure's childhood.

I love the Grenville sisters. They're sinister but fascinating siblings. Would love to read Dahlia's own story.

Poor Michael Wainwright, he did it to himself, because of his fast and loose ways he had dug himself into a pool of sinful lust that he is now reaping the repercussion and he didn’t like it, nope he didn't like it one bit, so a redefinition of himself was needed it was time they knew who he truly was. I feel for this guy, the things he withstood to show how much he can change society’s perception of him. He didn't stand a chance with the masses and even his friends having a good laugh and gambling against him. It hurt him, but his interest peaked when a chance meeting at a masked soiree gave him hope again and a rebirth of that thing he thought was so elusive to him, love. But all promises came to an abrupt end when the faces under the masked were revealed, and Miss Granville came face to face with the lord of pleasure. Now he was fighting the greatest and most meaningful battle in all his sinful years, for unmasked no one wants to be with him except the widows and a few others willing to meet him under dark. He wanted more and soon came to that shameful conclusion. Nicely done, get your own Lord of pleasure.the greatest and most meaningful battle in all his sinful years, for unmasked no one wants to be with him except the widows and a few others willing to meet him under dark. The Lord of Pleasure, Lord Michael Wainwright is known as a rake and a despoiler of young ladies. Miss Camellia Grenville is on the verge of spinsterhood. She prefers to blend into the woodwork only ever opens her mouth when forced to by her family to sing. She finds herself betrothed to a man she has no desire to marry. Camellia takes her sister’s place at a masquerade and finds herself embroiled with the most interesting and intriguing man. Number 1 rule is no one knows who anyone else is and Camellia feels free to be herself with Lord X. Michael find himself more and more wanting to meet this mysterious woman. He has to be so careful or he will end up in the caricatures again and the butt of all jokes. I loved this story during the week Camellia would never even give Lord Wainwright the time of day, but upon occasion has giving him quite the set down with a brutal tongue lashings, but behind the masks it’s a different story.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers' copy of this book from Net Galley and the publisher.

While I find most of this book to follow a kind of standard for its type, I loved the end and the turning on its ear of all expectations- their society's and the reader's both.
