This novel was a delightful read. I enjoyed the interaction between the characters as well as the romance and mystery that were entwined in this story.
Miss Camellia Grenville keeps herself out of trouble and does what is expected of her, even though she longs to be an opera singer, but cannot since it would bring scandal on her family. Camellia does not like Lord Wainwright, since his words took away the funding for her sister's school for desolate women. She is very protective of her family and will sacrifice herself if it means they are happy.
Lord Michael Wainwright has be named the Lord of Pleasure since he affects all the women that come across his path. He is a rake and lives in the scandal sheets, but does not realize the true impact of his words. He takes a bet that he can go 40 days without appearing in the scandal sheets, a bet many assume he will fail.
When Camellia attends a masked ball, she meets Michael, but they do not know who they other is. They enjoy each other's company and can be themselves, not what society expects from them. The masked balls at the home of one of Michael's friends in help once every week and he cannot wait to see his masked lady. He does not have to be the lord of pleasure, but can be himself. Outside of the masked balls, Camellia shows her dislike of Michael, but she begins to see another side of him too and she begins to change her opinions of him.
When someone reveals Michael's identity at the masked ball, Camellia is shocked and flees. Michael tries to find find her but has no idea who she is since he knows now she is the only one for him. Camellia cannot be linked to scandal or betray her sisters. Part of the intrigue of this novel is when Michael and Camellia will figure out the other's identity and realize that the other has brought out the true person in the other. Michael wants Camellia as his wife and Camellia realizes she should go after her dreams. It just goes to show you cannot judge a book by its cover.

Really enjoyed this Romance novel. This was a great quick read and would recommend to all.
