An amazing start to this mystery thriller. It's a cliffhanger. The characters are spot on and easy to get immersed into. The unknowns are leaving me breathless and anxious to find out what is behind the story! First time reading this author and so far she is great! Book provided by NetGalley.

Zoe Carter tantalizes us with the first part of her six part thriller series. Sarah is living every woman's alleged fantasy life with a gorgeous, wealthy husband, a healthy, beautiful baby boy, and a house in East Hampton, Long Island. Except it's not. The growing stench of backstabbing neighbors, marital infidelity, a demanding, cruel mother-in-law, and eating disorders permeate Sarah's life. Pushed by her mother-in-law to invite her family to her son's christening, Sarah reluctantly contacts her estranged sister, Maisey, thereby adding buried dark family secrets to her already troubled life.
Carter knows how to write and how to keep her readers glued to the page. Indeed, Part 1 of "Take it to the Grave" is such an exhilarating, roller coaster of a ride, it's hard to imagine a reader not grabbing the next installment in the series.

It was very suspenseful, but I didn’t really get an idea of what the story was about. Just that there was something in their past that they didn’t want anyone to know. And they haven’t spoken in years. It was very “I know what you did last summer”
The dual POV was interesting because they are not alike and with Sarah’s lifestyle I was glad. Her husband’s behavior was a lot to take and I don’t think I could have kept reading it if Maisey wasn’t in the story.
I kinda dug Maisey as a character and would have like to see more from her perspective but alas, it was not in the book. Other than that, Maisey seems to be a serial dater while Sarah is in a an abusive relationship but seems to like it.
I don’t think I’m gonna read the rest as I don’t have the patience to read five more parts to find out what it was they did. I just don’t care enough about the characters to put in the effort.
I received this book in exchange for an honest/unbiased review.

This book is being released in 6 parts. This is part 1 of the installment. The story introduces us to Sarah. She is a young mother of 4 month old Elliot. She is married to Warwick, who comes from "old" money. Warwick is a classical handsome man that Sarah feels lucky to be with, but Warwick isn't quite as All-American as he seems. One thing he and his overbearing, snobbish mother agree on is that Sarah needs to lose the baby weight, fast. Sarah is pressured to invite her elusive family to attend Elliot's christening. Sarah is reluctant to introduce her family to her mother-in-law, but her reasoning is vague. She and her sister, Maisey, are clearly estranged, although the reason is not given.
Meanwhile, Maisey is a nurse working in Thailand. She is helping to build a clinic for people that have never received medical care. She is very good at her job, but keeps her co-workers at arms length. So much so, that she hasn't even told them her real name. As the pressure to open up to her lover becomes greater, Maisey must decide if it's time to cut ties and bolt to a new location.
As Sarah and Maisey's story unfolds, Sarah receives a troubling email that takes her breath away: I know your secret, Sarah. I'm going to tell.
The writing is fairly good, although the overbearing mother-in-law and possible cad husband are fairly cliché, as are Sarah's rich, over-privileged East Hampton "friends". Likewise, Maisey is a typical don't-get-close-to-me loner that leaves a trail of broken hearts behind her. The story is intriguing enough, however, that I will probably at least read the next installment.

A short story that leaves you wanting more! So many unanswered questions and I definitely want to keep reading.

This was a strange one for me. I didn't connect with the characters at all. I know, being a serial, there isn't a whole lot of time to settle into each installment. But these characters were sort of dumped on us and they just came off as very bizarre. Possibly if I'd had the opportunity to get to know them more gradually, so that I liked them once their quirks were revealed, it may not have seemed quite so overwhelming. However, the way it was presented felt like a whole lot of weird character info and not much else happening. Although it did get a bit intriguing towards the end, I can't say I'd be interested in continuing the series.

I enjoyed the book but didn't know their would be so many parts. I'm still debating on whether I'm going to continue on or stop with the first part. To no fault of the author but mine because I didn't research the book and see that it had several parts.

Just starting the story and reading part 1 of 6, I find Sarah's husband far from perfect and Sarah with a huge lack of self confidence and self esteem. Not sure I will pay $1.99 per part for this. While it did keep me interested, I'm not sure you would call it a gripping, thrilling page turner. True enough, this is the first of the series, and we're just getting into introducing the characters, but honestly, I need more to call it "A tense and addictive psychological thriller, thus far! I'm on the fence on this!

Sorry, I didn't care for the story. Started to read but as I got into it l just lost interest and didn't cre what happens. The

What an exciting start to this serial thriller! This is just the start and there’s a lot being set up. I can’t wait to see where it’s going to lead. I’m ready for part 2!

Very short ok story, but not worth waiting for 5 more installments--probably that would be a normal book length anyway.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

When I spotted this book on Net Galley, I thought it was just a free teaser of the book, perhaps the first few chapters. I had no idea it's actually being released in six parts. This is the first, and it's a very quick and easy read. It took me about a half hour to an hour to get through it. It definitely seems like it might be the start to an interesting story. However, I'm the type of person that begins watching a currently airing television show and then simply forgets about it and forgets to continue even though I was enjoying it. I'm not sure if reading a book that's split up into different parts will be for me, but I'm interested in checking out the next to see where this is going. I had to chuckle at a line in what I believe was the very first page of this one, when "one of" the maids interrupts Sarah's reverie. For many of us, including this Sarah, having a maid would be a reverie!
Sarah is a financially privileged new mother living with her husband in a lovely home in the East Hamptons. Her child is adorable, her husband is movie star handsome, and at first glance she seems to have few worries. We soon learn that's not quite true. I immediately took a dislike to her husband. He's controlling and judgemental, deciding what Sarah wears and chiding her about her decisions as a mother and her baby weight. Baby Elliot is three and a half months old! I don't care how handsome you are, hubs. You seem like a bit of a jerk. His mother is also a hard pill to swallow, nagging Sarah as well.
In a completely different area of the world, Sarah's sister Maisey is living a completely different life. As a nurse working in impoverished places in the world to set up clinics and provide healthcare, she has no set home. She moves around often from one place to the next, with no one to tie her down... and no one that even knows her real name. The sisters haven't spoken in years, but Sarah is pressured to contact her by her mother in law, who wishes to meet her family and no doubt, appraise them. The sisters used to be extremely close, but it's unclear what has driven a wedge between them... at least in part one.
Not long after contacting her sister, Sarah receives a mysterious and threatening email that could change her entire life. But what's her secret?
I'm giving this one a 3.5 for intrigue. I'm very curious how the story will continue.
I received an ARC of this book from Net Galley and Harlequin, thank you! My review is honest and unbiased.

Interesting concept of the story being broken down in 6 parts. Quick read and as the story is starting to build up it ends.
Sarah has a secret and she wants no one to know. Her mother-in-law wants to meet her family and is driving her nuts about it so she invites her sister hoping she won't show up. Maisey get's the invite and decides to go visit her sister that she hasn't seen in years. When Sarah discovers Maisey is coming she is shocked and someone is threatening to expose her secret.
I would have preferred to get more of the story in order to really hold my attention. Not a bad story line just wish it was longer.

I had a hard time starting this novella as the main character was not realistic at all and the way she described her family was a bit bizarre. I get that people think that their husband is attractive but to describe him like a hero on a romance cover was just cheesy. That first impression was a shadow that loomed over me as I read the rest of part one. I am going to pass on the next 5 novellas. The writing style was just not to my liking, so maybe skip my review on this one.

I enjoyed what I read but as it is a six different books I was left wondering when I could read the next parts as there was no ending in the first part

Very good writing in presentation of the characters provides a solid basis for a tory. However, this book presents the characters and ends.

Sarah seems to have the perfect life. A beautiful home in the Hamptons, a handsome hot husband and an infant son named Elliot. But Sarah’s mother in law Eleanor is constantly on Sarah to lose her baby weight and is a snob.Sarah.s husband Warwick loves himself more than anything and is very controlling. Sarah has a sister whose name is Maisey and she lives out of the country under another name, Maisey is a nurse who goes to poorly developed countries to help however she can. Sarah hasn’t seen Maisey in about ten years. Then Eleanor nags Sarah to invite Maisey to Elliot’s christening. Sarah sends off an email and surprisingly Maisey accepts the invitation. Sarah has a secret she has not shared with anyone then she suddenly gets a note saying “ I know your secret and I'm going to tell”. Sarah’s whole world may come down on top of her.
I liked the beginning of this series and hope I get to read the rest of this series. I don’t usually like cliff hangers but I knew where to expect in this case so that was a little different. This was a quick easy read. It definitely had me wondering why were the sisters no longer close and why Maisey worked out of the country under a different name. It seems like she was running from something. Also what was Sarah hiding? Also why didn’t Sarah stick up for herself? So many questions. Hopefully the answers will be found in the next five parts I am eagerly waiting to find out. One last question why did Maisey suddenly decide to come back even if it was for her nephew’s christening ? Until the next part I recommend.

This weird serial leaves you wanting more. You want to know what the note is all about and what the strange relationship is that the sisters have. But, unfortunately, the book is told in serial form and leaves you hanging. You want to know more. You crave the end of the mystery, but you are only told so much and no more. It is well written but disappointing that you are left to wonder what will happen until the next installment. I liked the storyline but I don't like being forced to continue to buy the next book to find out what will happen to the main characters.

LOVED this book - so suspenseful. Can't wait for the parts 2-6!

I have to admit, I strongly disliked this "book." Its a short installment - part 1 of 6 - but I still had troubles forcing myself to finish this. I will NOT be reading any further and I would highly recommend that others don't either. There is really no suspense or thrill beyond the fact that the main character gets an email in the whole sense of "I know what you did last summer" at the end of part 1. I think this is supposed to drive us to part 2, but I already hated the characters and the author for forcing me through part 1's nonsense.
