This is a great book; this is the fourth book in the Bodies of Art series written by Ritter Ames. When art recovery expert Laurel Beacham’s personal and professional worlds collide, she learns no good theft goes unpunished. Incomplete intel and a missing source compel her to make a huge mistake, and she’s left with a divided team. Every retrieved masterpiece has a price—and the cost of forgeries can be deadly. This time Laurel could lose not only her best lead, but also her most trusted ally. The stakes have never been higher, forcing her and her partner, Jack, to go on the run, crisscrossing Europe to evade the criminals. Except instead of two masterminds working against them, they realize there might be three. With no time to lose, Laurel and her team must pool their resources and work to set aside their differences before they become the next fatalities. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Exciting, fast-paced adventure. Many twists and turns. I am not especially interested in art, but this series has captured me from the beginning. The romance has been fun. The characters are intriguing. I look forward to reading the next one.

I always find myself nervous when I am writing a review for a book I didn't enjoy. Just because I didn't enjoy the story, it doesn't mean someone else won't love it.
There were many positive reviews of this book, however, I didn't enjoy it very much.

I found the story lacked something that appealed to me and I kept waiting for that "ah ha" moment, when I would find that connection I found lacking.

I did give it 4 stars because it was well written, it just didn't appeal to me.

Ritter Ames once again surpasses my expectation with Fatal Forgeries book 4 of the Bodies of Art series. The story starts off with a bang, slows down just enough for afternoon tea than takes off again bring readers into the world of art forgery at the very end leaving reader dying for more.
I have always found that series start to die off towards the end of book 4, leaving this reader disappointed.
Not with the Bodies of Art series. The characters, story, art and locations and next adventure only seem to build on top of each other each.
From book one to now book 4 each book bringing a new excitement, a new story and a new love for the characters readers have met and new ones they will meet.

What the author is able to do so well is bring readers up to date without slowing down the story. Readers new to the Bodies of Art series they will not necessarily need to start with book one to understand what is going on completely in book 4.

The bodies series remind me of the style of Ocean movies where the readers are reading one things but what might be happening is completely different and readers will not be disappointed.
Readers will feel they are running a race but with moments of being able to slow down and dig into the characters back stories and why act, why they feel and why each one has a passion for art recovery.
Ritter Ames is able to bring part of the world alive. To the point readers will feel like they are walking the streets of London and so much more.
Ritter is able to take a write a story bringing the characters and locations to life almost with out any effort.

Thank to you to Henry Press and Netgalley for this Advance Copy.

Fatal Forgeries by Ritter Ames is the fourth book in her Bodies of Art series and held me captive from the first page.
Ms. Ritter's descriptive writing always makes me feel like I am right there with Laurel no matter where in the world she may be. This time we travel to France and Spain as Laurel, Jack and Nico are trying to track downlost art and follow up on the art forgeries that continue to appear on the market.
Laurel is a smart and resourceful woman who really can take care of herself in most situations. Her developing relationship with Jack Hawkes has it's twists in this book so I will definitely be watching to see how this works out. I loved meeting an old friend of Laurel from her younger years and that included a surprise about Jack that I never saw coming. Well played Ms. Ritter, well played.
If you like adventure, kidnapping and so many twists in a plot that is fast paced that you cannot put the book down, then this book is for you. Although it could be read as a stand alone, I don't recommend it because the plot and the relationships are complex and have been developing and evolving over the previous books. For the richest reading experience treat yourself to all of the books in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book that I received from Henery Press via NetGalley. All of the above opinions expressed are my own.

This fourth in the series of Bodies of Art Mysteries carries on with Laurel still trying to save masterpieces. However, there are others out there (at least two and now possibly, three) who have other intentions for these masterpieces.

In the last book, Laurel discovered someone on her team was a double spy. Is this happening again? Laurel is pretty much flying solo in this book of the series. Certain details have the whole team not knowing who to trust.

An action packed mystery series that takes you all around the globe in search of art, forgeries and criminals.

Thanks to Henery Press and Net Galley for providing me with a free e-galley in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

Laurel Beacham and her pals are at it again. The book opens with Laurel and Nico, dressed as cat burglars, preparing to recover a stolen Caraveggio. Once back in the office, Laurel discovers she may have compromised one of Jack Hawkes' missions. When Nico disappears and some of Laurel's adversaries reappear, the plot becomes complicated. Read these books from the beginning of the series or it will take you a long time to figure out what is going on. I very much enjoy this series.

Wow, just wow! Fatal Forgeries starts out like a James Bond movie and just keeps going full speed all the way to the end. Laurel Beacham is amazing, and is at the top of her game, which is an absolute necessity for this book. She literally cannot turn around without facing a kidnapping attempt, a mugging, or a pesky, but very knowledgeable, British reporter who wants more information than Laurel is prepared to give on the Beacham Foundation. We learn a lot more about Laurel's past, why she does what she does, and we get a glimmer of why she is suddenly in so much danger. Loyalties are questioned, friends and people from her past come into play, and some relationships are revealed. But Laurel is mostly on her own in Fatal Forgeries and has to use every asset she has to keep herself and her friends and co-workers safe.

Unlike Laurel, I could take a breather from all the action, but I literally could not put this book down! The non-stop action, intricate plots and twists and turns in all of the books in the Bodies of Art series are something I love, and I don't know what I'm going to do now that I have to wait for the next book to come out! I highly recommend this series, and while all the books can stand alone, you really do not want to miss one bit of the story and action from any the books in this series.

“Fatal Forgeries” by Ritter Ames is the fourth in “A Bodies of Art Mystery” series. It is not necessary to have read the other books in this series to enjoy this one. Each character is briefly introduced, and previous books and relationships fold easily into current scenarios to help “new readers” catch up on previous action.

This book is action-packed right from the first paragraph as Laura jumps in; “My uniform was a Lycra cat suite. A black hood covered my blond hair.” The world of art masterpieces, forgeries, and theft continues at that pace interspersed with pauses for the reader to catch a breath while team members struggle in the “war room” with high-tech computer equipment, security cameras, and no chairs. Danger, forged and stolen art, and illegal guns intersect with invitations to a “fabulous engagement tea,” carry-in food, complicated family history, a possible kidnapping, and even a heavy metal band. The geographic locations are almost characters themselves, with richly done areas and lavish estates.

I was given an advanced copy of Fatal Forgeries” by NetGalley in exchange for my candid review, and I loved this book. I have not read others in the series, but once I find a series or author that I like, I read everything from that author and eagerly anticipate the next in the series. This book was no exception.

As Laurel says, “Much like art, the interpretation of acts depends on who is looking at the pictured events,” and all who look at the events in this book will find them full of unforeseen twists and turns that flow effortlessly from one page to the next.

Note: this review will be posted on Amazon and on Barnes and Noble on the publication date.

I have loved this series right from the start. I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one to read. I stayed up way to late to finish it. It is full of twists. I laughed, I cried, I got angry. I loved every minute. I plan on reading the series all over again very soon.

I LOVED the first three books in this series. I wish I could say the same for book 4.

The book starts out with Laura in her cat burglar mode involved in an exciting escape with the help of Nico. Another escape in Barcelona and fending off kidnappers in London are all very exciting.

A lovely tour of Barcelona, Spain and parts of London shine as Laurel chases art thefts and the truth about her mother's death. The saga of Laurel Beachman continues. I wish this episode had solved more problems and not left everything hanging.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I struggle between 3 or 4 /5. The story is exciting when Laurel is recovering stolen works of art. Her personal struggles are interesting. I just felt I had slugged through a whole lot of characters and information about them but didn't accomplish much by the end of the story.

Book four of Ritter Ames, A Bodies of Art Mysteries, starts off with a bang when we find Laurel Beacham in the process of liberating an original Caravaggio from the hands of the wrong person so she can return it to the rightful owner.   While Jack goes on his own secret mission, Laurel finds herself in the crosshairs of someone who wants her dead.  When Jack returns from his mission, they join forces when one of their own goes missing and the fall out from Laurel's recovery of the stolen painting results in events that will cost someone his life and finding out there is a possibility of more than two masterminds working against her and her team. As with all her books, Ritter Ames'  Fatal Forgeries is nonstop action, well plotted, and a very enjoyable read.  I highly recommend this series to those who love mysteries with some romance in it.  I can't wait for the next one!

'Fatal Forgeries' by Ritter Ames is absolute perfection. Once again Laurel Beacham is on a roller coaster of suspense from the first line of the book and I have joyful anxiety following every inch of her journey. The surprises in this third book of the series are shocking, with twists and turns that left me stunned. My only regret is that it ended, but it hasn't left my mind. I keep revisiting and revising any insights gathered. This is gritty and wonderful. I can't recommend it highly enough.

International Hijinks, Art Heists, Deception, and Suspense!
Fatal Forgeries is the fourth book in Ritter Ames’ A Bodies of Art Mystery series and is an awesome read. The storyline is well thought out, the characters are well rounded and relatable, and the plot is full of surprising twists and turns. Ms. Ames has skillfully written intricate story of deception, intrigue, suspense that kept me engaged from the first page until the last. The writing style flows smoothly with the action starting on the first page and quickly escalating into a gripping page-turner. The author is talented in descriptive writing and much of the time I was reading, I felt as if I were there enjoying the sights and watching the action take place. I’ve read the previous three books in this series and have enjoyed all of them. Ms. Ames provides enough background information that each book on this series can be read as a standalone. I’m already looking forward to reading the next installment in this series. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading a clean, well-crafted mystery.

This installment starts out with Laurel Beacham and Nico (her trusted and resourceful co-worker) ‘rescuing’ a stolen painting before it could be sold at an upcoming auction and time is of the essence. The painting had been on their Beacham Foundation’s radar for years but they are doing so without the knowledge or approval of the foundation. Laurel planned to ask Max, the head of the foundation, to return it to its rightful owner ‘off the books’. Unfortunately, Laurel doesn’t confirm her information before moving forward, which causes her team to doubt each other and places each of them and others either in uncomfortable positions or in harm’s way. Upon returning to London, Laurel learns that two forgeries of the painting they recovered have been confiscated. Nico arranges for delivery of the painting to London but doesn’t show up at the pickup point. Cassie, Laurel’s assistant and art restoration genius and forgery spotter, reluctantly travels to Paris to meet with Max and a foundation funder. Laurel and Jack try to locate Nico, find her source to obtain information about the auction, and track down the bad guys. Laurel and Jack’s relationship continues to grow and she is more trusting of him but starts to second-guess that decision when a second person warns her about him. Jack arranges a meeting for Laurel and she learns a little more about her mother.
