A sweet romance. The story is about York who is visiting his sisters for the month and Chantelle Cummings, who is also visiting but for very different reasons, promoting her new book, The Chocolate Touch. She is looking for new recipes for her family's chain of chocolate shops in France and intends to leave after finding it. Because of the chocolate shop, York and Chantelle are thrown together. They had great chemistry and were nice to read about.

THE CHOCOLATE TOUCH is the eighth book in the Love At the Chocolate Shop series.

Former Air Force captain York Parker has one month to spend in Marietta Montana before embarking upon a consulting career. He never expected to be selling chocolates, but he’s happy to help his sister and her boss. He also likes spending time with sassy, pretty Chantelle. His new co-worker may have the chocolate touch, but he’d rather taste her decadent kisses… That is, until he learns the real reason she’s in town.
Chantelle Cummings is a blogger, author, and all around chocolate expert. She is also trying to prove herself to her mother’s family, hoping to take her place in the family business, Delacroix Chocolates. In Marietta to promote her book, it is the perfect excuse to scope out the chocolate shop, looking for recipes and opportunities. When Chantelle also ends up filling in at the Chocolate shop, she and York are thrown together more and more, and the instant interest of their first meeting continues to grow. Unfortunately, both these two are waiting for the next stage of their lives and have big plans that don’t include romance. Can they get past their expectations and Chantelle’s secrets to find their happily ever after?

THE CHOCOLATE SHOP is funny, hopeful, sweet, and clean. It is also a good example of what families should be. Clean contemporary romance with a few twists. I really enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down. I often get drawn into the books written by Ms. McClone as she is a wonderful story teller. I highly recommend this book to other readers and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I wasn’t ready for THE CHOCOLATE TOUCH to come to an end. I would have loved a longer story with these two characters. They had great chemistry together and the story kept me interested the entire time. Hopefully they will be revisited in a future book.

I really enjoyed the book, it has everything I love in a novel from start to finish. I can’t wait to read what the author has planned next!

Book received from NetGalley.

I have to admit to not really liking the two other books in the series so this was going to be the last one I read if it was like the others. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I did enjoy this book. The author made the characters relatable and entertaining even though it can be hard to accomplish with how short the book is. I liked the premise of why the main female protagonist comes to town, though there will be some out there that won't. I can't really get into it because of spoilers. I think this is the first book I have ever read by this author but it won't be the last.

There's something about chocolate that's guaranteed to make me smile, and when it's paired with a good story I'm in bliss. The Chocolate Touch is one of those stories. Sweet, filled with chocolate and featuring characters that I grew attached to early on, this is a story that flowed gently from one page to the next. York and Chantelle are both lovely, generous, caring and thoughtful. Copper Mountain Chocolates, where much of the story takes place, is just as you might imagine if you were dreaming up the perfect chocolate shop. For feel-good romance, this story ticked all my boxes.

This was a delightful sweet romantic story with all the elements that you want and expect of a good romance. I read this as a standalone novel and did not feel that I missed out on any of the action. This was also my first Melissa McClone book and I really enjoyed it.
I loved all the characters as well as the setting, I love all things chocolate!!!
I will definitely read a Mellissa McClone again.

Thank you to Tule Publishing via Netgalley for the copy.

I liked The Chocolate Touch. It was a sweet chocolate lovers dream of a story. After Dakota and Nevada found love in this series, York was a heavy favorite of mine to get a book too. His story was almost as saccharine as theirs and only the big misunderstanding kept it from being overly sweet.

York is in Marietta playing big brother and prepping for his new life out of the military and his new job. He meets Chantelle quite by accident and they are both interested - and interested only in short time fun. Both have big plans for their future and those plans do not include finding love. York already has a lot of backstory as he features in both Dakota's and Nevada's books. Chantelle, on the other hand, has a lot of backstory here since she is brand new.

I liked her but I also often felt like she had this constant sense of being in a precarious position which governed her life in ways I thought were a bit over the top. This was especially true after interactions between her and her cousin.

York and Chantelle get thrown together and both see the potential for their relationship but neither seem willing to bend and once she is unmasked, things are quite dicey. It also shows up some characters as not quite so perfect (which I liked!). But in the end, it all comes up sweet for York and Chantelle with a bit bow on top.

This was a nice bit of fluff to enjoy in an afternoon. Plus, I like how each book in the series pushes Portia's story just a little bit further along.

Fact: Whenever I feel stressed and worn out with my job, I always turn to stories by Melissa McClone , Dani Collins, Jane Porter and everyone else in Tule Publishing. I kid you not. I always find myself relaxed and grinning like a hopeless romantic whenever I meet folks like the Carrigans, The Sheenans, Parkers, the people from Bar V5 Dude Ranch, basically everyone from Copper Mountain. It's like I belong to a family there in Marietta. So whenever there's an opportunity to read these books, I grab that chance.

Thankfully, I found York Parker and Chantelle Cummings' story in The Chocolate Touch. Last Christmas I already met Walt and his son Bryce who captivated York's sister, Dakota's heart. And now York is back to help out his sister during a busy season in Copper Mountain Chocolates.

Chantelle Cummings is a writer and a chocolate expert who's in Marietta for a few weeks for a book signing and to do research on chocolate shops. Turns out she's going to experience a lot more than tasting chocolates during her stay. Soon she fell in love with the place and with someone who introduced her to the sweetest chocolate kisses she's ever tasted.

York Parker has no intentions of staying at Marietta after retiring from the Air Force. He wants to travel the world while doing his new job as a computer consultant. But when his sisters asks for his help at the chocolate shop, he couldn't say no. Then he meets the woman with the most delicious smile he has ever seen.

I love York Parker. Can I have a piece of him? He's everything Chantelle needs to balance her workaholic life. He's that special someone that quenches her thirst for a family. But when reality sets in, they realize they belong to the opposite sides of the world, and neither one is willing to compromise.

As usual, Melissa McClone made me faint again with the men of Marietta. I laughed, cried, sighed, swooned, and daydreamed. My stress and wrinkles had gone away, replaced by a smile and a toothy grin, and inspired by y love for chocolates. 'Tis was truly an exciting and lovely read!

The Chocolate Touch is the eighth sweet romance in the Love at the Chocolate Shop series written by author Melissa McClone. Thanks to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for the advance copy.

This is a story where chocolate, secrets and dreams all play significant roles. Take one chocolatier author promoting her latest book, send her to Marietta where there’s an amazing Chocolate shop, add in her family’s firm and her dreams then mix together with a potential love interest and you’ve got yourself a really sweet romance!

Chantelle Cummins is the author who is seriously attracted to the hunk handing out chocolate samples at her book signing. The man in question is York Parker - readers of this series may remember his sisters Dakota and Nevada from previous stories. He’s an ex-Air Force captain who is soon to start a new career but is helping out his sister first. The attraction between Chantelle and York is passionate, hot yet sweet but once the hidden agenda behind her visit is revealed will their love melt away or prove strong enough to ensure a tasty future ahead for them?

This is another great series written by different authors based, this time, on the Chocolate Shop. It is a light, easy read with enough intrigue to keep the reader entertained and engaged. A delightful story to read relaxing on the beach or curled up in front of the fire - whatever is appropriate for the season!

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion after choosing to read it.

York and Chantelle, aww there hasn't been a sweeter couple till now. Both realize that a no strings attached fling is their best option. As fate would have it they turn out to be each other's soulmates though York did tick me off there for a while when he doesn't believe Chantelle. But I'm so glad that he comes to his senses and they finally get the HEA that they both deserved so very much.

This book was so sweet and by the end I really wanted to taste the chocolates and go to the shop and have a few samples .of the truffles and chocolate bars! It was good to continue the story of the brother who got the trip to Fiji and see how everything worked out for the sisters. I really liked the gratitude challenge and that he found out how donated the trip and kept it to himself. It was really sweet. I wish the characters were a bit more open with their feeling in this story and that they didn't dance around the topic of how much they were actually falling for each other until the last pages of the book.

I, like many readers, have been waiting for York’s story after the glimpses we had of this loving older brother in both Nevada and Dakota’s stories. I was totally smitten by York and he turned out to be everything I’d imagined about him and a bit more. I have to be frank and say that it took a bit longer for me to get onto Chantelle’s side. There was just enough information about Chantelle’s famous chocolate family and their business practices to have me hesitating over her involvement with York. Sure, each had other life plans, neither had planned on settling down let alone together in Marietta – yet I spent the majority of this story thinking ‘please, please don’t be doing what I don’t want to think you’re doing’. So that when the reveal came I completely understood York’s, Dakota’s and especially Sage’s reaction. (Oh, I so want to discuss this part and give my reasoning but I can’t as it would give away major spoilers) So I have to give major kudos to Melissa McClone for writing this story from a perspective that left motivation open to the reader’s interpretation of events. I frankly think that took courage and talent to allow us to like Chantelle in general but still wonder what she’s doing.

You could easily call York and Chantelle’s romance a slow burn. They each had plans that they felt were etched in stone, and at best a light momentary fling might be all that they could have. Yet love has other intentions and they slowly, but certainly built into a romantic situation where life changes had to be considered. In many ways they both were placed between a rock and a hard place – and had to come up with their own unique solution to loving someone so much but with such different life plans. There is one concept that isn’t used a lot in romance and that’s simply when two people are willing to find a compromise to their situation the barriers can fall away to allow that happy ending to come true.

I enjoyed The Chocolate Touch very much, although not for perhaps the usual reasons. York and Chantelle have to overcome so much to be together But they find the way to get past things that would break many couples apart. Yes, this is a fun romance but it also held some deeper emotions for me, I happen to enjoy the complex… and this couple certainly had that happening around them.

I would highly recommend The Chocolate Touch and all the stories in the Love At The Chocolate Shop series for any Romance reader. You’ll find a solid story, believable characters, issues to be dealt with and secondary characters who have their own stories that add so much to the current one. This one might make you think how you’d react in a similar situation.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Another delicious read form Love at the Chocolate Shop series. Chantelle has arrived in Marietta for signing of her book and get the inside scoop of the Chocolate Shop, not expecting to fall in love with York. York is home for one month before starting his job, and helping out at the Chocolate Shop during this time. Their is a mutual attraction between the two, but the one secret that Chantelle is keeping from everyone might destroy everything.

I loved how their relationship built but both afraid to move forward with their relationship, neither one here permanently. Great to catch up with the other Chocolateers!! Loved the gratitude quest! My favorite line, "She did have the chocolate touch. Chocolate had brought her everything she dreamed about and a little extra too".

A sweet, heartfelt romance.

Chantelle Cummings is in Marietta, Montana promoting her new book, The Chocolate Touch, but she also has a hidden agenda. She is looking for new recipes for her family's chain of chocolate shops in France. Once she gets what she wants, she will be moving on.

Former Air Force captain York Parker, is in Marietta for a month before he starts his new career. Until then, he will be helping out at the Copper Mountain Chocolates with his sister. York and Chantelle meet at the book store where Chantelle is singing her new book. There was something about Chantelle that York couldn’t seem to forget.

York had no idea Chantelle would end up temporarily working at the shop too when Portia, a pregnant worker, ends up in the hospital. They soon find themselves sharing more than just a passion for chocolate.

I wasn't ready for this book to come to an end. I would have loved a longer story with these two characters. They had great chemistry together and the story kept me interested the entire time. Hopefully they will be revisited in a future book.

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Loved this book! The chocolate aspect is awesome as is the romance part of the story. Being friends first is always best for a romantic relationship to succeed. I wish the shop actually existed as I would love to go there.
