I'm hooked on this Bad Boy homecoming collection of high school reunion. Each one gets better. Must read

I loved Jake Davis and seeing him trying to at first get back at Jessica Jackson then realizing once he seen her that he still loved her and that they were kids back when they broke up. Jessie I wasn't a fan of at first but then as the story went on I understood her a little more. There story was great. Katee Roberts wrote a great story and this stand alone/ but part of the series was great. I recommend reading all of them.

4 Homecoming Stars!!!

What a great read this book was. This one is really the epitome of the second chance romance when the star football player comes back to town and runs into his high school girlfriend that really was the "mean girl." But as you might suspect, time has changed Jessica and she really doesn't want to go to her reunion because she's afraid of how people will treat her.

I just loved how Katee Robert wrote this book. We get all her sassiness and sexiness and oh my talk about having to fan myself!!! These two together are on fire!! This novella is part of the Bad Boy Homecoming series and it can be read as a standalone although if you're like me you'll want to read them all since the characters are all somewhat intertwined.

I was interested in the story because not only was it a second chance love story but was also set at a high school reunion. Jessica and Jake were high school sweethearts. Jessica left town and Jake felt betrayed. Now it's 10 years later and Jessica returns to town no longer a success. Jessica decides to use a dating agency but doesn't know that this agency is owned by Jake. Jake in the beginning thinks that this would be a good revenge against that Jessica. Of course they start to have feelings with for each other once again but the past will Cause problems.it's a fascinating story and being at a reunion makes it even better. I highly recommend this book

Really enjoying this series so far.

Jessica was the "Regina George" of her high school and when her friends find out about the upcoming high school reunion she has, they demand she attend. Jessica knows showing up alone isn't an option, especially knowing she could run into the love of her life whose heart she broke, so her friends hook her up with an escort service.

Jake Davis had his heart broken by Jessica back in high school and has loved her ever since. Now, 10 years later, he spends his days running his lucrative escort business and thinks he has his chance at revenge when Jessica's name pops up as needing a date to the reunion. When Jake sees how different Jessica is since high school, he quickly changes his mind and the old sparks between the two ignite...

I like that you can read these in any order and I think that the love story behind this one has been my favorite so far! What I didn’t love – while I think the idea of this series written by different authors is awesome, I think that the small details are key and I was disappointed that one of the previous books mentioned the lack of name tags at the reunion while this book made a point of mentioning how silly it was to have name tags at a masquerade ball. Also, the entire first half of the book, Jessica is dreading the reunion as she was such a "mean girl" in high school; then at the actual reunion, there really wasn't much drama and it was almost anti-climactic on that front.

M/F Romance

Jessica and Jake were the couple to be in high school. However, when Jake is injured and Jessica takes a look at where her life is going – she bolts, leaving Jake heartbroken and angry.

Skip ahead to their 10 year reunion. Jessica has a decent job but is not where she thought she'd be. Despite having AMAZING friends, she is hesitant to attend the reunion because of how horrible she was in high school. She was the queen bee and made everyone else feel little.

Jake went on with his life, but he never really forgave Jessica for breaking his heart. They had plans and when he was injured, those plans halted. When he has a chance for a little revenge, he takes it. His new business venture is one where people can hire escorts for weddings, reunions, etc. Any place where people need a date.

When Jake and Jessica come back to their high school reunion, Jessica is plopped right back into her horrible family life. Jessica has a mom who constantly belittles her and a father who is a serial cheater and doesn't really bother to be engaged in their family. Jake knows that it was bad in high school, but I don't think that he really understood how bad her home life was.

Jake and Jessica need to decide if forgiveness is deserved. Hurt feelings come to light, new hurts create angst, and you can really see how Jake and Jessica work through their past and leap towards their future.

This is a cute second chance romance. When the prom queen accidentally hires her prom king to be her date for their high school reunion, the two former lovers spend the reunion weekend working through the feelings they still have for each other. The result is a novella full of angst and heat.

I really enjoyed Jake. Dumped brutally by his high school love, he has enough of a sense of humour to thoroughly enjoy Jessica’s reaction when she realises she has hired him as her escort. But he is also sensitive enough to spare her public humiliation and humble enough to refrain from rubbing her nose in his wealth and success. He is a good guy, a charming and attractive guy, but he’s maybe a little bland and a little too... nice.

I found Jessica more difficult to engage with. A reformed mean girl, she admits at one point that she made Regina George look nice in high school. She spends the book telling us that she’s a new, nicer person but as soon as she’s back with her schoolmates she whips out nasty barbed comments. Insights into her home life make her somewhat sympathetic, but I struggled to relate to her or even like her at times.

The heat between Jessica and Jake is great and I liked the way they dealt with their past baggage without too much angst. But somehow, I think I was supposed to enjoy this more than I did. It might be the novella format that doesn’t allow for detailed character development or it might just be that Jessie and Jake’s relationship still feels kinda high school when they are both supposed to be grown adults. For me, the ending was too easy and the whole story wrapped up just a little bit too neatly.

This is one of a series of books with the same theme, but by different authors. I read them out of order, but it definitely didn't matter, as nothing important is revealed about any other storyline.

There is quite a shift in this book as the lead, Jessica, was the school mean girl and she knows that going back will be a challenge, and yet her friends persuade her that she needs to put some of that time behind her. When we see her at her parents' house, it is not difficult to understand just how and why she became such a student. Luckily, Jake has the patience and desire to know the real Jessie, and watching it all come together is very enjoyable. There are some fun moments, and some pretty sad ones, but Ms. Robert is adept at ensuring we are cheering for the pair, and giving us the result we need!

Engaging story; I have enjoyed all I have read so far of this series.

This is the 3rd book in the Bad Boy Homecoming series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader understanding and enjoyment, I recommend reading in order.

Jessica gets talked into going to her 10 year reunion. She knows if she goes back she will take a lot of crap, she was a horrible person in high school. She fears what she has to face. You can't go back, can you?

Jake cannot believe his luck. The love of his life suddenly needs a date to their reunion. If he can stand to be around her without touching her maybe it will be okay. If not, they have a lot of time to make up for. The sparks are flyin'!

This book was just as sexy and sweet as I was hoping. Never failed by this author to have a treat to read. This series is also a hot and yet sweet joy to read. Makes me sad I missed my reunion. I truly love second chance stories and this just hit the spot!

Jake and Jessica were the power couple back in high school; cheerleader and star athlete, prom king and queen. But when a life altering accident shatters Jake's dream of becoming an NFL star, Jessica leaves him behind without a second glance. 10 years later Jessica is contrite and ashamed of who she used to be. Mean, spiteful and a downright b*tch with a capital B. With a failed career, a few years of therapy and soul searching under her belt, she returns to Catfish Creek to make amends with a rented date on her arm. Only it turns out that her date for hire is Jake.

Jake spent the last few years picking up the pieces of his shattered life and a broken heart. Now Jessica has presented him with the perfect opportunity to exact his revenge. Nut the Jessica he meets now is nothing like the one he used to know. The one he could see beyond the Queen B facade. He understood her reasons for behaving the way she did back then. But the reformed and regretful Jessica, the one who is wary and skittish throws his vengeful plans into disarray. Now they may just have a shot at a second chance if they are willing to let go of the past. Hopefully they'll get it right the second time round.

I love the concept of these interconnected books all revolving around a 10-year high school reunion and how each couple has a shot at a second chance at love. Jessica's return for the reunion won't be easy, especially considering her mean girl behavior back in high school. It's amazing how much a life path can change in just a few short years. Seeing her with Jake in the present time was great, the chemistry is still there between them, but Jessica harbors no delusions that the reunion will be a good time given her attitude back in high school (at least her mean girl behavior makes a bit of sense once you meet her mother). I love that Jessica actually acknowledged how detrimental her high school attitude was and sought out help to work through her issues. We do get to see a bit of mean girl come through while at the reunion, but it's nothing over the top. The biggest shock was the conversation she had with her mother.

Jessica was the epitome of a Mean Girl in high school and she is absolutely dreading the thought of returning to her hometown to attend her reunion. In the time she has spent away from Catfish Creek, she has been working hard to change old habits and become a better person, so her two new friends and roommates practically force her to go home one more time. They know that making amends with a few people is important to Jessica's future, and they also know that she secretly is dying to see her former flame Jake one more time.

Jake has never forgotten how deeply Jessie cut him 10 years ago. They had been planning their futures together, but when he was hurt and could no longer pursue his dream of playing in the NFL, she cut him out of her life like he was just trash to be discarded and didn't look back. He took a different path in his life and is a very successful businessman now, so when Jessie's application to his company for a date to the reunion comes across his desk, he sees an opportunity for a little revenge.

This story definitely made me feel like I was back in high school again because despite the 10 years that have passed, Jake and Jessica fall back into old habits and actions at times. Their chemistry is apparent and it's clear neither has gotten over the other one in their time apart but Jessica has a lot of growing up to do even after all this time. She has become the queen of self-flagellation for her past actions to the point of making me roll my eyes a few times, and her lack of a spine when it comes to her mother made me want to shake her on multiple occasions. Jake made up for her in some ways though with his sweet but strong personality and sexiness. The story was woven with elements of the other Bad Boy Homecoming stories, particularly Trouble by Avery Flynn which features Jessica's brother Drew and her former best friend Leah. I am not sure Jessica totally redeemed herself with some of her former friends, but she made it count with the one person who mattered most to her in some very hot moments!

Prom Queen is the third book in the Bad Boy Homecoming Series but the second book that I read and I have to say that I love the fact that each of these book can be read as a standalone, believe me when I say once you read one of them you'll want to read them all.

Jessica was the mean girl in high school, you know the one that is viciously mean to everyone other than a select few....every school has one, but for the last ten years since she has graduated she has been trying to become a better person and now with the reunion coming up she plans to go back and atone for her mistakes but she doesn't want to show up alone. So what happens...her friends hire someone to go with her, only one problem with that....they don't know that her ex-boyfriend Jake is the one that owns the company!

When Jake sees Jessica's application for a date come through he is stunned to say the least, but he doesn't give this job to any of his men he is going to be Jessica's date himself and maybe he can finally get some closure since the way they split was anything but good.

This was a fun, sexy read. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Jessica and Jake, I enjoyed so much it had me wanting to read more about the Bad Boy Homecoming, which I did so be on the lookout for my other reviews for this series. You can see my review for Rock Star by Stacey Kennedy here.

A quick and very steamy little romance from Katee Robert, this absolutely hit the spot for a great summer read. The story centers around Jess and Jake who have been in love since the tender age of 10. High school sweethearts, a LOT has happened to the both of them and now as they each prepare for their 10 year high school reunion, we get a look at the past and present for the football jock and the class b!tch.
I thought the author did an excellent job of keeping the characters true to their original personalities and the story, although it was really short, was well thought out and executed. And like most of KR’s reads, the steam levels were intense!! I enjoyed it very much.

I normally won't read a book with the heroine who was the "mean girl" in high school, but I'm a huge fan of Katee Robert so I knew she would dot this book justice. I was proved right! I instantly liked Jessica. Getting inside her head and realizing why she acted she did years ago makes her easily redeemable. Now going to the ten year high school reunion and facing those she treated not so well is a nightmare, but that's what she's going to do. Now enter he ex high school sweetheart whose heart she crushed at one of his lowest moments. Things are about to get very interesting.

I’m a total sucker for novella series… especially when I’m only familiar with one or two of the authors participating. When I saw Katee Robert was going to release Prom Queen as part of the Bad Boy Homecoming novella series, I knew I had to read ALL THE BOOKS. As it worked out, I only got around to hers before release, but I did pre-order the other four and I’ll be making time to read them ASAP. Short, sweet and sexy novellas are such a great palate cleanser between books. Or, you know, they also make for a great binge. But, I digress. Prom Queen. That’s what I’m here to talk about. 🙂

I adored this novella! It was a great mix of “fake it till you make it” and second chance romance which, as you probably know, are two of my favorite tropes. (Maybe I should just admit that I love most tropes, huh? Anyhow.) Jessica and Jake were both wonderful characters. Their chemistry was apparent from the minute they were reunited, so it was easy to root for them. The plot setup was rom com perfection: ex mean girl is heading home for her high school reunion and doesn’t want to go dateless for a number of reasons — one of which being her ex — so she hires a date… and the date just happens to be her ex. This is gold, y’all.

Prom Queen comes in at just a little over 100 pages and I swear I read it in about an hour. It was a total page-turner. I couldn’t get enough of these two characters and the fun, sexy times they gave. I was also kinda surprised to get a fair few feels along the way. I was expecting something totally fluffy, but Prom Queen was more than that. At its heart, it was a lovely second chance between two characters who were obviously meant to be together. If the rest of the Bad Boy Homecoming series is this good, I’m going to be one happy reader!

FAVORITE QUOTES

“I have faced down my past. I’m reformed. That doesn’t mean I want to be thrown to the wolves so I can play a damn martyr.”

There wasn’t exactly a playbook for how to act around your ex-boyfriend who was pretending to be your current boyfriend but had just given you a very real orgasm a few hours earlier.

3.5 Stars

Any story by Katee Robert is guaranteed to bring heat and heart and Prom Queen was no exception. This second chance love story was wrapped up in redemption and forgiveness and quickly drew me in.

I really liked Jessica. She has definitely had a rough childhood, but she knows now that it doesn’t entirely excuse her mean girl behavior in high school. She’s been trying to be a better person and has found a wonderful support system in her two best friends out on the west coast. Coming home for her high school reunion isn’t something she wants to do, but she knows if she wants to move forward with her life she needs to head home and not just seek forgiveness from others, but also seek forgiveness from herself.

Jake was faced with not only an injury that took away any hope at a professional football career, but also with losing the one person he thought would be by his side while he recovered. He’s never forgiven Jessica for leaving him or truly gotten over her, so when he sees a chance to get close to her again and, yeah, maybe also get a little bit of revenge, he totally takes it. Of course he doesn’t count on his heart getting in the way of his plans.

Jake and Jessica have a lot of issues to work out, but their attraction to one another certainly isn’t one of them! These two couldn’t be near each other without the sparks going off, but unfortunately a quick roll in the hay is not going to erase the pain and heartbreak of the past.

All in all, this was a fun read that delivered everything I love in a Katee Robert book – plenty of heat and lots of heart. It did seem a bit rushed at the end and I would have liked to have had just a little bit more of what happens next (one of the drawbacks of a novella!), but overall this book delivered a great story that has me looking forward to reading the other books in this series.

Nice easy read with good characters and a nice plot -- the story follows from high school to adulthood and realism.

Second book I read on this series and they keep getting better!

This is Jake and Jessica's story and like the last book they had something happen in the past that destroyed their relationship, but the Reunion has put them back in the same path and there's no way they can avoid each other now.

Jake's motives weren't pure at first, he acted as if he wanted revenge, but after he sees her everything changes, he realises that she is not the same girl he once knew, and he also knows there is no way he can stay away from her.

Jessica appeared to be a mean girl back in the day, and we definitely don't like her type, but as the story develops we understand that maybe she was acting out because she was hurting. She is a different person now and she is scared to death of facing all the people she wronged, although the one thing that scares her the most might be unavoidable for her.

Getting in touch with old feelings is a hard thing to do, and it's worse if those feelings were never quite gone to begin with.

We get to see these two characters get reacquainted and find out that true love withstands time and there are a few things it can't forgive.

The reunion will reveal all of their secrets, and once their facades are dropped they will have to make the choice of running or going all in.

Amazing!

Jessica was the ultimate queen bitch in High School, over the last ten years she has had a lot of time to reconcile her behaviour and deal with the guilt and regret she carries with her. Life hasn’t exactly turned out as she had planned when she left Catfish Creek in her dust. Having burned a lot of bridges in her need for escape, Jessica finds herself in the position of hiring a date for the 10 year reunion to avoid judgement from the people she tortured during her high school reign; as well as providing a barrier between herself and her first love, Jake.

Jake carries a lot of bitterness toward Jessica from her callous departure when he needed her the most, following an injury that ended his hopes of a football career. Although Jake has become very successful in the time they have been apart by providing an elite dating service for women. None other than the dating service Jessica uses to hire her date for the reunion!!!

Jake vets all the new applications so he is the first person to see Jessica’s application and takes it upon himself to get a little payback on Jessica. Although Jake is ultimately a good guy and he is able to see the changes Jessica has worked hard to make in the period they have been apart.

Jessica has worked hard on overcoming her emotional barriers that translate in the bitch persona she embraced in high school. It is obvious from the moment we meet Jessica’s mother as to why Jessica needed to create the barriers in the first place. Constant criticism and disparaging remarks ensured Jessica had little control over her life growing up, resulting in a fragile self-confidence and the need to inflict the same pain she was in on others. While this only served to add to Jessica’s negative view of herself it was the only way she had some control at the time.

Jake was aware of the real Jessica beneath the defence mechanism all those years ago, but the woman Jessica has become takes Jake pleasantly by surprise, calling into question his actions with the fake date.

It is obvious that neither Jessica or Jake have fully moved on from their relationship in High School and the chemistry is more than evident at their initial meeting. Sparks soon fly out of control but can Jessica and Jake reconcile their new lives with their rekindled feelings.

I really liked how Jessica took ownership of her faults and worked hard to alter the negative tendencies into something positive she could be proud of. Rather than reverting to her learned behaviour in the face of criticism, Jessica continues to make progress in becoming the type of person she wants to be. Jake is utterly adorable and a good guy to his core even when he tries to be bad 😉

I really like the interconnected characters within this mini-series, ensuring the need to want to dig deeper into all of their stories.

I have to say I desperately wanted an epilogue for Jessica and Jake to be able to witness where the future would take them. I would also love for Jessica’s friends, Brooklyn and Cora, to get their own stories because there are definitely hints within the narrative that they have their own stories to tell 🙂

I can always expect Katee Robert to deliver sexy, and fun romances with her stories. I was particularly intrigued by Prom Queen because it not only featured a second-chance romance, but it told the story of a former mean girl. That’s not the kind of heroine that you normally see in romance novels, so I was looking forward to seeing how Katee Robert would work with that. I thought she did a really nice job, and I had fun reading Prom Queen.

Even though Jessica was a mean girl in high school, often tormenting her classmates, she’s reformed now. You can tell that the guilt of her past actions was slowly eating away at her, and she regrets her behavior. Throughout most of Prom Queen, she was very vulnerable, and still struggling with her guilt, but by the end she grows to accept her most and to move on from it. I do wish we had had more flashback scenes showing Jessica in her mean-girl days, because we’re only told about how she was a mean girl. I think it would have made her growth more believable had we seen those flashback scenes. Although I wasn’t fully convinced of Jessica’s character, I was full-on swooning over her love interest, Jake. What a great guy. He goes in to the reunion fully expecting to exact his revenge, but he’s just not the revenge type of guy. Despite how deeply Jessica hurt him by leaving, he was a complete sweetheart to her. He totally had his alpha side to him too, but not in an overbearing way. He was protective, sexy, and a truly amazing love interest.

The second chance romance was also one of my favorite parts of the story. Katee Robert knows how to pen a good, achy romance that makes you feel all the feels and she did exactly that with Prom Queen. There’s a lot of hurt between Jessica and Jake, and though they dive into their sexual chemistry fairly quickly, they don’t fully become emotionally attached until they’ve had a conversation about their hurt feelings. I really did love the two of them together, especially with how accepting and forgiving Jake was towards Jessica. He could have easily tormented her further, but he’s just not that kind of guy. I thought Jake and Jessica were very much of a complementary couple, in that they fit well together, and helped each other be better versions of their selves. As always, Katee writes seriously steamy sexy times scenes that had me fanning myself!

All in all, Prom Queen was a really good book that I found myself devouring. If you haven’t read any of Katee’s books, then you need to change that ASAP, especially if you enjoy sultry romances and couples that work well together. Katee Robert is a queen of romance!
