A story about high school sweethearts and old friends that, after a decade of separation, reunite in peculiar circumstances. Both characters have their wounds and there’s bitterness between them but also “too much history” and they didn’t move past it.
I liked the first part of the story when the MC are dealing with meeting again in those peculiar circumstances and realize they’re different but still attracted to each other; the part concerning their high school reunion was not so interesting to me.
While I liked both main characters, the heroine’s issues and the years of therapy didn’t move me and the reconciliation with her mother was too quick.

This was a fun short novella. It stars Jack and Jessica, who were high school sweethearts. At 18 Jessica dumped Jack when he seriously needed her and while his life has turned out wonderfully her hasn't. Added to that Jessica was the mean girl prom queen. So when she resists going to her ten year reunion her besties hire her a date.

The date ends up on Jack's desk as he owns the company and he decides to torture her for fun. And he totally does. This was a fun story with two people who still love each other and have to learn to left go of the pastto move to the future they can have.

I really enjoyed it and I really liked the books length. It ws not too sort but also was a fast read. It is well written with some hot scenes and characters I really enjoyed
