Appropriate for the age range. The text includes great information and photographs of Otters. I enjoyed the questions that engage children to "research" and learn animal facts.

Otters, by Victoria Marcos is a part of the My Favorite Animal series.
Within forty pages, this book provides details about otters intermixed with photographs. According to the book summary, "Otters offers engaging facts and checks the reader's knowledge and comprehension throughout the book."
Otters is geared toward children, particularly ages four to eight.
Note: I received this book from NetGalley, which is a program designed for bloggers to write book reviews in exchange for books, yet the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

A fun easy reader book full of cute otter pictures. Would definitely recommend to parents of young children who want to learn more about otters...or who just want to look at cute otter pictures. Sometimes, we just need to look at pictures of otters.

This was great! Very informative book for 2nd graders up to maybe 4th. Lots of good into and I loved the Photos!

My Favorite Animals: Otters is the first book I've read in the My Favorite Animals series from Victoria Marcos. I read it as the bedtime story with my child last night. We both liked it. Otters are always a hit in our household, and this book was no exception. And at only 19 pages long, it was cute pictures and short, concise tidbits of information that kept her attention.
One of the things that I liked about it was how the author stops every couple of pages in the last half of the book to ask questions about what the kids just read. This sort of immediate stop-and-recall works better for my child than waiting for a list of questions in the back of the book. She also doesn't do too much of it in My Favorite Animals: Otters so it didn't become all about the learning experience to my kid, even though she was being asked to think.
This is definitely a beginner's book on the animals, but even older kids will enjoy at least looking at the pictures. It's a nice quick read that is well thought out and easy for a young reader to read independently or with an adult.
The formatting on My Favorite Animals: Otters was a bit unique for me. It happens to be the first one that I've read on my kindle where you were meant to hold the book sideways. Now, this doesn't play into my rating for the book at all, but I do feel like there's a little bit of charm lost in viewing this on a regular Kindle/Kindle Paperwhite. On a Fire, where you can actually see the colors, My Favorite Animals: Otters has got to be a lot more eye-catching and 'aww' worthy.

Well written, captivating and interesting for children, would recommend and use again!

I can imagine this book being a firm favourite with younger children and it is just the kind of book that I would have wanted when I was within the target age group. It has fun facts on each page and the images are lovely.

My Favorite Animal: Otters is filled with wonderful photographs of otters and short easily learned passages about their daily life. Once a fact is given, there will be a question asked to reinforce the material. This book would work well for a classroom or a parent and child reading time. There is a glossary in the back to review unfamiliar terms used in the book.

I have a kindle app not a kindle so I was unable to download it to read and review. I would suggest either a PDF or epub format to be added.
The cover and information looks very interesting.

This is a non-fiction book with some great photos and facts about otters. It is geared to young children (4 to 8) so they can learn about otters and it does just that. It is simple with just enough information that it will not overwhelm them. I think this is a great book and series for a school library. There are many young children who do not want to read fiction and this series would definitely give them something to read as they are developing their skills.
