his is a sexy, amusing and enjoyable story. Mick is real jerk in the beginning, but as you slowly get to know him you learn that he's charming and generous and funny. He has a big heart, but it's disguised as selfishness and control. He finds himself drawn to Terri, once he stops and sees her, and his one and done attitude doesn't seem to apply to her. Terri is a sweet, snarky and caring woman who is fascinated by Mick, but doesn't want to have a relationship with him. Things get more complicated and entertaining as the storyline unfolds. It's a really great story.

Funny, steamy, a good read that held my attention, especially with the female lead holder her own against the alpha male

I kind of liked this book. This was better than I expected. Not quite special but still an entertaining read. From the first line, I was hooked. It's really intriguing from the beginning and the plot moves fast. Too bad I couldn't stay hooked all along.

Mick and Terri are in an insta-lust relationship. He's a powerful CEO and she's a barista at a coffee shop he visits every day. He's arrogant and obnoxious but she can't help how attracted she is to him. And it's not one-sided. He can't take his eyes off her 'assets'.

I liked the chemistry between the two and there were some really hot scenes. I don't know why I liked Mick so much but I did. He was a real jerk but it made his every kind gesture sweeter.
Terri was a good heroine, which means she didn't annoy me but she wasn't special either. Her reactions were okay most of the time but other times... so incoherent and unrealistic.

The things I didn't like were that I felt the drama was a bit too much and yet not enough. I'm not sure how to explain this. It's like in a romantic comedy where you have serious things happening in the background but you don't take them seriously because you know nothing will really disturb the main couple. It felt like that except so unnaturally told that I really didn't care what happened with everyone else except for Terri and Mick. And that's not good in a story. I don't like it when I'm not totally into it.

Finally, I really felt like the ending was rushed and I seriously wanted to scream "WHY?". I mean I read until this point, please can it be perfect ?

PS : I feel like the cover doesn't really reflect the story. So if that's stopping you, you might still want to give it a try.

Stud was an interesting story that had me really wanting more from Jamie K. Schmidt.

A barista that is really a marketing guru … a marketing exec that needs all the help he can get with his latest client … a family that is as dysfunctional as it gets. I loved every component of this story and I really do not want to summarize it for you. It’s a must read for anyone who enjoys nerdom, a love-hate relationship and hot sex.

Terri is working three jobs helping support her sick brother. Mick has the father from hell, a human resources nightmare mother and a playboy brother. Terri also has the knowledge that Mick needs to keep his client happy. Now, Mick needs to learn everything that he can about playing video games and the gamers that he has to impress while keeping his hands to himself. Think “Mad Men” meet “The Big Bang Theory” and you’ll have the gist of it.

Sexy and funny, twists and turns. A story about two people who should have everything going for them but have to deal with what life throws their way. A woman who knows her stuff but knows that she has an obligation that must be fulfilled and will do whatever it takes to make it happen. A man who has to deal with keeping the family business from going under and fight his mother, father and brother along with the lust that he feels whenever he is around his little barista. Yes, the makings for some fun and interesting times.

I seriously enjoyed this story. I loved how Terri and Mick met. I loved the scene in the nightclub. I loved the inner workings of Mick’s family. I loved how devoted Terri was to her brother. But, most of all, I loved how the story ended. Jamie K. Schmidt took some serious subjects and wrote a story that warmed my heart, made me smile and proved that being a nerd could be a good thing.

This a new to me author. Honestly the cover kind of jumped out at me and i thought i need to read the blurb on this. So here I am! Terri Cooke had a good life a boyfriend the job she always wanted. Then her brother got sick and she lost it all to take care of him. Mick Wentworth has money and is part of a family that owns a ad agency. He seems like he's got it all. Except his family sucks. He's trying to get his families company out of the hands of his parents and back on track when he finds out that Terri who he's been seeing at the coffee shop she's been working in. Sparks fly! You know Mick comes off as a jerk off and on in this book. You can understand why trust is hard for him once you see what his family is like. Terri had the opposite type of family. Her parents and brother loved each other and then her parents died and it was just her and her brother. He fell ill and she would do anything to care for him. Something Mick knows his family would not do for him. There's a lot of crazy stuff going on in this story but Mich and Terri sizzle on the page when they get together. If you are in the mood to try something new this is only around 200 pages and its a hot sexy read! Well worth the read.

A great steamy romance book that has the best name.

Bad boy Marketing Executive Mick commends people with his fingers and he gets what he wants all the time. He is definitely a bad boy and it appears to Terri, our heroine and barista. Mick doesn’t mind people sees him as hard ass.
Once Mick and Terri finally give into their one-night of passion.. Things twist around. Terri has been working in marketing but Terri had to take care of her brother due to ALS like symptom and she only has him as a family after losing her parents. Terri knew what she was into when she decided to hook up with Mick. She was instantly attracted to him knowing he had multiple girls around him.
But for both one night will not do for both and it became more than couple time until she is working with him. Mick has one rule that is not to mix pleasure with work. He has seen it happening around him way too many times.
MIck seems like he is an arrogant and selfish and some are true but when it comes to people he loves he will protect them and be royal to them. Now Terri’s working under him, he can’t pursue her other than working with her and it is driving both mad.
While trying to launch new client, his parents are getting in the way to sabotage his company and him. No wonder he is way he is, after reading about cold hearted mother of his. Not only his company is in danger, he is afraid to lose Terri as well.

It was very different storyline that what I have thought. Mick’s character is not like a typical nice guy, he is an ass but at the end, he really was a stud. I loved Terri’s brother and her boss, they were funny in different way.
It was a perfect summer read... I loved how gaming was woven into the storyline.

Lets start with the book title definitely suits the hero. The readers first introduction to the finger snapping Mick Wentworth caused a double take. The sheer initial rudeness of the character was a bit shocking but later Mr. Wentworth's character is devilishly delicious. Wentworth is super cocky and larger than life. The up side his character is easily tamed by his heroine (Terri) whose presence adds balance to the hero. Now, Terri's character is smart and funny with the right amount a bad luck going on in her life. The heroine trials gives her character strength and helps to propel the story forward. The gamer in me likes the fact that the author added an element of on-line gaming in the story. Stud is just a drool worth and steamy read.

Terri Cooke is not living her dream. She was until both her parents died in an accident and now her brother has a disease that is taking his mobility away. So she had to quit her dream job to work part time jobs so she could take him to his appointments. While working at the local coffee shop, she gets the pleasure of waiting on Mister High & Mighty. He is a snob, doesn't talk and looks like a Greek god. Terri doesn't know why her boss falls all over herself just to wait on him. He comes into the shop for his prissy coffee and just walks out.

Mick Wentworth isn't thinking about anything except saving his family’s company. But it's not what you think, it is his own family trying to destroy what he loves. He does notice the barista behind the counter at the coffee shop but he doesn't have time for a relationship with her.

When Mick has to get the coffee shop to cater a breakfast meeting for a new client, Terri is the one he has to set it up with. And he wants to impress the client and for Terri to impress him. What happens is that Terri impresses the client because she knows all about the computer game because she and her brother are players. She has such good ideas that the client thinks she is an employee at Wentworth Agency and Mick has to hire her or lose the client, which happens to be his biggest account.

Can Mick keep his hands to his self while they finish the ad account? Will Terri be able to make the account happy and keep Mick interested in her?

I really liked this story and hope there will be more even though this is a standalone, maybe one from Terri's brother, who knows. This is a first for me from this author and I look forward to reading more from her.

I really enjoyed this book – pretty crazy story on Mick's side, pretty intense on Terri's, but overall a good read.

Can I be honest... what I loved most of all was the secret meaning of the Stud. It was delicious, and possibly not everyone got it, but I love thinking about the title and how it works, and in this case, it was a beautiful meaning in a book full of madcap.

There were plenty of inappropriately located scenes, plenty of sweet and soulful moments, a touch of nerdy game playing, a fair degree of drama, but actually led by a fun pair who are perfectly matched. We get to know both sides of the story, and enjoy the banter, and hope that Terri gets both the support that she needs and the love that she deserves.

Fun, mad, sexy, and sweet – perfect mix! Thank you, Ms. Schmidt.

This was the first time that I read a book by Jamie K. Schmidt. I really liked the storyline and the characters. I understood Terri's need to take care of her brother Billy. Mick was an excellent guy. He had drive and ambition but was also willing to admit when he was wrong.
I would definitely recommend this book to someone who likes sexy stories but also wants a great storyline.

I received a copy to read and review from Netgalley.

Jamie K. Schmidt writes an engaging, sensual. romance. Stud has at it's center, a rather unlikeable hero. It is to Ms Schmidt's credit that she manages to change the reader's opinion through the character's growth and actions during the story. The heroine is a feisty, smart talking woman business owner with the responsibility for care of her brother. Though I would categorize the book as Young Adult, I found it well written and the character profiles so complex that I forgot they were twenty-somethings. The dialogue fit both charactwer and situation. The story itself was quite enjoyable. All in all, a sexy, flirty, fun read.

I really liked this story a lot. Even though Mick is, at times, someone you would not like, he shows you that her has a big heart. I liked him despite his arrogant, douche bag ways. Terri, was a great counterpart. She did let Mick get away with anything. She gave him a lot of sass. She also had a big heart. She sacrificed her dreams to take care of her sick brother. The banter between Mick and Terri was fun. I laughed out loud a few times. There was a lot of sexual tension between the two from the first meeting. The story is a quick read but provides plenty of entertainment. It was fun reading Mick and Terri's road to romance.

Terri Cooke wishes she could give Mick Wentworth a piece of her mind. The infuriating stud muffin walks into her coffee shop every morning expecting his regular order at 8:57 on the dot, without ever acknowledging Terri’s presence—except for staring at her cleavage. And yet she can’t deny that Mick Wentworth has an animal magnetism that’s stronger and richer than any espresso . . . which explains why Terri says yes when he suddenly, inexplicably asks her out.

After the morning coffee run, Mick’s day is all downhill from there. His family’s marketing firm is dysfunctional in more ways than one, so to save the business, Mick desperately needs to impress their newest client. When he learns that Terri’s a fan of their trendy product, he tries to get inside her head. It doesn’t hurt that she’s the barista he’s been lusting after for the past five months. But as things heat up with Terri, Mick finds that a little steam is just the jolt he needs to turn his whole life around.

Review:

Great story that was different than I thought it was going to be.

I thought it was going to be complete sexiness through the whole book and not a lot of substance, but I was completely wrong on that one. It had way more depth and emotion to it and that really made me happy and it was great to read. Now, don't get me wrong there is a whole lot of sexy going on and it is written expertly. The characters are great! I loved Mick! He starts out really jerky, but once you get further into the story you see his gooey center. Terri is great too, smart, fun, geeky and has lots of things on her plate. I loved how the evolved as a couple. The parts where they are being geeky together were the funniest for me.

A barista trying to help her sick brother and a wealthy, obnoxious business man, can they ever become more? Mick and Terri's story is sweet, funny, sarcastic, and sexy. I really enjoyed their interactions. I liked the family and office drama going on, too. This made the story very intriguing. Terri is a perfect leading lady: strong, feisty, and committed to helping her brother. Mick is the typical alpha male that's scared to commit and tied to his work. Together they make the perfect team. A really fascinating story.

Terri works at a coffee shop where every day she must deal with Mick a cocky, annoying but sexy business man. When Mick needs his help with comes clients, Terri comes to the rescue and the chemistry they share grows hotter and hotter. This read has plenty of suspense, drama and emotion, I also liked the story and the characters were fun and entertaining. A good read.
