Despite reassurances to the contrary, this was difficult to get into without having read the series. Enjoyable idea though, so I will seek out the series soon!

This was an okay read, with interesting characters and a well done world building. I had high hopes for this story, but after the first few pages it couldn’t keep me engaged as much as I wanted it to. Maybe I have to read the other books in this series and give this book another try. I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Loved this as a stand alone but can't wait to read more of Ashley Harris' books! Great adventure of a book!

I thought this story just ok. I was not completely into the plot line or story after a few pages. Not happy with this read

DNF. Really I was shocked this author has any previous works. This book was completely amateurish and juvenile. It desperately needs an editor. The grammar, punctuation, word choice and sentence structures were abominable. I only read a quarter of the book before I gave up. It says this book is a stand alone, but I was completely confused, although it may have been due to the writing itself.
