What a great start to a new series! Elle Christensen is becoming one of my go to authors and I can’t wait for more in this series with these characters!

I received an electronic copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I have always had a soft spot for books involving someone's love of music. Whether it be a rockstar selling out stadiums to a folk songwriter who can only communicate in music notes and melodies to express their feelings, I am always going to hunger to dive into the book the features any of the sort. This book was no exception. I was anxious to also find out some of the secrets that the protagonists may be hiding away within the depths of the pages.

Brooklynn has more responsibility than she can rightly handle by herself. She has a family life that is less than conventional and a past that haunts her day in and day out. She lets her past and her hindrances dictate every movement she makes so when she decides to do something for herself by stepping in as a backup singing for a popular rock band, Stone Butterfly, she is completely out of her comfort zone. Then there is Levi. The sexy front singer that sets his sights on Brooklynn and dives into trying to charm her out of her steadfast rejections of his advances. When Brooklynn's resolve starts to shake, an outside force steps in to try to shove her back into her quiet existence with absolutely no Levi to light her way.

Levi is the typical womanizing front man before Brooklynn. The moment his eyes meet hers all other women seem to fade into the background. They no longer matter. All that matters is possessing Brooklynn body and soul and absolutely heart. He is willing to be the shoulder she needs, the rock she can't be, and the love of her life if she would only let him. But Brooklynn is hiding something and Levi knows he has to find out what it is or risk never knowing what he could have with Brooklynn.

This story started out so strong. I was firmly engrossed and sucked into Brooklynn and Levi's world. That was until about the middle of the book. The progress seemed to stutter and then grow lax. Things popped up in the plot like that were meant to be a major obstacle but were negotiated easily, or instances where they truly had no rhyme or reason. By the end of the book I was firmly in the 'meh' opinion of the book. If the antagonist wasn't so obvious and there were more problems center around them than just an innocuous item it would have built the suspense and made an edge-of-the-seat read.

In conclusion, I did not dislike the book, but I did not fall in love with it either. It has promise if only reworked a bit.

Family, love, dedication and making dreams come true are what make up this book. Brooklyn is not only beautiful but she is a very talented singer/musician with a devotion to her challenged sister that is hard to come by. Levi Matthews is a rock star extraordinaire who is beyond most women’s dreams and who has his sights set on Brooklyn as she auditions for a spot with the infamous rock band, Stone Butterfly. Brooklyn’s main concern is and always has been what is best for her developmentally challenged sister, Baylee. Levi is determined to make Brooklyn go on a date with him but she makes it hard on Levi by not saying yes to the date.

This story will show you how deep love and devotion can go but will surprise the h*ll out of you with some of the twists and turns Ms. Christensen takes you through. I’m looking forward to the next book in the Stone Butterfly series.

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley for a freely given and honest review.

I absolutely loved Levi and Brooklynn's story!!! The chemistry between the two was off the charts hot!! Together they were explosive and it showed. I am a huge sucker for a rock star romance and this did not disappoint at all. I loved how everyone in the band acted like they were all a family. Of course there are bumps along the road, secrets holding others back, and something from the past rears its ugly head that could totally change the course and prohibit them from finding their forever with each other. I love their determination to not give up on each other and find their way together through the storm.

I can't say enough good things about this book. I can't wait to see what is in store next for this series. Another 5 star read from the very talented Elle Christensen. Well done!!!

Another Postcard is a great way to start out the Stone Butterfly Rockstars series.

The characters are easy to care about and fall for.

Brooklyn Hawk has a big heart and talent. She keeps those she cares about close to her heart. She's cautious when it comes to trusting others. Her passion and love for music is admirable. I'm surprised at how quick she can forgive.

Levi Matthews is the lead singer for the rock band. He's determined and passionate. I love that he never gave up on asking Brooklyn out, no matter how many times she turned him down.

Being in the limelight, they don't always get to keep their personal lives private. There's always a risk of something come in between them. There were parts in this story that I did not expect.

Due to the amount of description put into the settings, there are parts of the story that seem slow. Those parts were more difficult to keep my interest. It wasn't a story I could read straight through to the end.

I loved the rest of the band. I can't wait to hear their own stories, especially Sasha. The band certainly feels more like a family than just band members or co-workers.

The story was a great start of the series. I can't wait for more.

Elle Christensen

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 rockstars

It’s been a long time since I have read a rockstar romance, and I also forgot how fun they can be. As a 1st read for Elle Christensen, this one blew me away. She has some amazing talent in her writing, I look forward to more from her and the Stone Butterfly group. These talented musicians could be real, their story is so life like. I adored main characters, Levi and Brooklynn but it was the support around them that really made this story, amazing.

As Stone Butterfly lose a member they have to replace her, that should be no easy task until Brooklynn Hawk wanders in. She is gorgeous and has a voice of a angel, but it is those eyes that suck the life it off lead singer Levi Matthews. Once bitten by her beauty, he falls very quickly, but for shy Brooklynn, she has family issues that require her attention, so unhelpful lead ons from Levi don’t help. Not deterred Levi keeps up his challenge to won the newest band member into his sexy web.

With an awful upbringing, Brooklynn is left as guardian to her younger sister, Baylee, who has some development delays requiring her to have full time carer. This is normal life for Brooklynn but joining Stone Butterfly is the perfect addition to her life. Music is everything she loves but soon she finds herself with another love... one she tried to fight but couldn’t walk away from. Leaving Baylee will toughest feat, but Brooklynn knows she is in great hands, and with calls everyday and Levi worming his way into her hear to, life couldn’t get any better. Levi and Brooklynn fall unto a very sweet but hot, sexy relationship, their chemistry is off the charts and his help and love of Baylee certainly help too. Everyone seems smitten by this rock stars ways... no wonder he had a string of women at his beck and call...

So as their tours begin, and everything is going perfectly, a stream of fan mail puts Levi on edge. This mail will change everything for this Group. You Think you know what going to happen, but I seriously didn’t see the explosive ending, leaving me gasping. From a sweet rockstar romance to a who dunnit of huge proportions. This book is a must read if you like your stories with plenty of heat, like music to sooth your soul, a smart mouth woman with much to prove and a lead singer who could melt the panties with his music, while making fisherman look like angels with his foul mouth. But it is the suspense that will suck you in and spit you out like a cannon.... Do it, you know you want to!!!

ARC graciously received from Netgalley.

3.75 stars
I really enjoyed Another PostCard. I liked the slow build at first and then things really take off. I just didn't like how the hero acted at the end of a certain scene towards the end of the book. He was out of line. But other than that it definitely kept me interested and entertained.

Fantastic deserves so much more than a rating of 5 stars. This is romance, snarkiness, persistence, and music at its finest. A rock band is losing one of their singers and they audition Brooklyn, and when she meets lead singer Levi the chemistry starts setting the pages on fire. There is so much standing in the way of them being together, mystery seems to follow them and that only adds to their battle. Will they determine that they should fight? Do they really want to be together? or is something else at work? Read this book and enjoy the ride, and see what happens when rock music is part of your life. Thank you NetGalley and Elle Christenson for allowing me to read this book and write a honest review.

***NOTE This review will contain spoilers***

The alt rock band, The Stone Butterfly is in need of a replacement backup singer. So when in-demand studio musician, Brooklynn Hawk becomes available. The group wants her. But the band isn't the only one who wants her, the lead singer, Levi Matthews, also wants her. Wants her bad. And he's not about to take no for an answer. Despite her attraction, Brooklyn has her own reasons for saying no. She's committed to taking care of her developmentally delayed younger sister and is afraid that saying yes to Levi means saying no to her career. After all, he's a star and she's just a studio musician and a temporary fix. But neither can deny the attraction. Unfortunately, Levi is the only one who won't take no for an answer. There's someone sending postcards who's just a little too invested in the lives of Brooklynn and Levi.

So... I wanted to like this book. I wanted to like it so much. And there is good in here and I think the author may have just misstepped. But whoa-boy was it a whole lot of missteps.

First what I liked:
-- I liked Brooklynn... She knew what she wanted. Had a sense of humor. And she was the kind of person who would fit in well with a new group/band.
-- I liked everything to do with the music scene. It was well researched and felt real.
-- I loved the rest of the band. Sasha was probably my favorite member followed by Noah. I'd love to see their stories one day.
-- I loved the ending. It was the perfect way to end the book and it wasn't a cliffhanger.

The fact that I'd like to read more about the band and that the ending is satisfying are the ONLY reasons why this isn't getting a one star. Now on to what I disliked... and be warned... here there be spoilers.

-- I really disliked Levi. Especially at the beginning. He was pushy to the point of stalkery. When a woman says no repeatedly to a date but the guy persists, it isn't romantic. It's sexual harassment. Levi oversteps a line when he follows Brooklynn home. Especially since at that point he had the power to fire her. So that meant that anything he did came from a place of inequality and if she said no, she'd be out of a job. Literally Brooklynn told him "no" over 20 times and he didn't back off. Even going so far as to corner her (the author's exact words) and kiss her without her permission. That's not romantic. That's sexual assault. Levi also jumps to so many conclusions, overrides Brooklynn's wishes, and even steamrolls her. That I couldn't warm up to him. I wanted Brooklynn to dump him and hook up with Noah. Seriously.
-- The PoC representation wasn't handled well. Black characters repeatedly had their skin referred to as "mocha" something that is considered offensive by many in the Black community and their hair was referred to as "wild" which is also an offensive term. In addition, Brooklynn is supposed to be of Native American descent. That isn't explicitly stated until 94% of the way through the book. When indicating race, it needs to be done early and it needs to be done with all characters. Not just the PoCs. And in addition, Native Americans need to be identified by tribe. Representation Matters.
-- Speaking of representation, the book seriously misrepresented an already stigmatized mental illness: Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). BPD is often referred to as "Crazy B**** Syndrome" colloquially however in reality, the way BPD manifests is in self-harm and self-destructive behavior. They don't stalk people and they definitely don't physically harm others. They also tend to commit suicide when they feel hope is lost... they don't try to commit murder. What is often identified in media as BPD is actually Anti-Social Personality Disorder (ASPD). The fact that the book perpetuates this myth is damaging. Representation matters, and for people suffering from BPD or those whose loved ones suffer from BPD (like me) this hurts and can actually reinforce the negative image that all sufferers of BPD have where they feel that they aren't worthy of love and affection and respect. This kind of negative portrayal has very real impact. And it would have been easily solved if the author had done their research or hired a sensitivity reader. Even the Wikipedia article addresses this. It's an unforgivable sin.
-- Finally, the ARC I received could have used a good proofreader. I tried to check the preview to see if the errors were visible but since they didn't start until chapter 7 I couldn't. Therefore since the book has been published and I received the ARC after the publication date, I have to assume the errors made it in.

So because of these problems, I can only give this book Two stars. And that's me being generous.

*** I received an ARC of this book through NetGalley

Wasn't the best book I've read this year. It had it moments where the story grabbed my attention but, parts just dragged. Not my cup of tea but, others may love it.

Awesome rocker Romance! Christensen does an amazing job of allowing us to live the lives of these rockers without needed to get trapped into the stereotypes of bands. I understood Brooklyn's apprehensions and Levi's patience. Great story!

For all the lover of rocker books out there, this one is a NEED to pick up. I love this book. Brooklynn and Levi just wow. They sizzled so hot. I love the unexpected twist that gave this sexy rocker romance a little bit of a suspenseful twist. The story is amazing. I swooned for Levi. I wanted to be Brooklynn or at least be part of the Stone Butterfly family. I loved the build up between Brooklynn and Levi. You get alpha and you get sweet all mixed in a little roller coaster ride. This book is all about love and family. And you felt that with the group. I can't wait to see where Elle Christensen takes this series.

From bold and outspoken bandmate Sasha whose clashes with Cooper are sexually-charged to the sexy and mysterious Matteo and Noah. They're an eclectic group that I definitely hope to see more of in the future! Despite a slow start this book ramped-up to an exhilarating finish that offered a surprise or two along the way along with a Big Misunderstanding and a Grand Gesture that showed Levi to be the quintessential book boyfriend.

Brooklynn Hawk is an enigma. Highly sought after for her incredible voice, her talent shines bright in the studio. But a dark past and a secret she holds close to her heart keep her from permanently stepping into the limelight.
Until her favorite band offers her the chance to chase her dreams.

As the lead singer for rock sensation, Stone Butterfly, Levi Matthews is wary of bringing in new talent. But, he has heard just how amazing Brooklynn is and when the need for another singer arises, he’s confident that she is the perfect addition.

However, he doesn't count on laying his heart at her feet.

But the world of music can be as dangerous as it is thrilling. Joining Stone Butterfly on tour was hard enough for Brooklyn, but when she finally succumbs to Levi's charms, the rock 'n' roll life turns deadly.

Will Levi and Brooklynn keep their voices and their hearts entwined? Or will the music prove too hard to survive?

Although rocker books are not my favorite books and I don't pick them as often as I do others. This one was really surprising. I expected a lot of drama and what I got was a sweet story. I would definitely read from this author again.

I was given an ARC from the publisher/author/NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own and do not reflect anyone else's.

This book was fan-freaking-tastic!!! I won't lie I had my reservations at first simply because I have read so many rockstar books that simply aren't great. This book though sucked me in from the very beginning! I loved not only the relationship between Levi and Brooklynn but also the relationship and dynamic of the entire band! I cannot wait for the next book!!

So, originally I rated this book 4 stars, but after I sat down and really thought about it after some time had passed, I changed by rating to 3.5 stars. It was good, but I was not engrossed in it as much as I would have wished during the first half of the book. However, once the two main protagonists became a couple, I really started to become invested in the progression of the plot and where it was going. I did enjoy this read for what it was and I am interested in continuing on with the series because the rest of the band members in Stone Butterfly really intrigued me.

I really enjoyed Elle Christensen’s writing. It was simplistic, but still very beautiful. I particularly loved the scenes where Stone Butterfly were performing. Those moments really allowed each character to stand out as individuals, but also showed how close and trusting they were of one another. I did feel like the first half of this book did drag because it seemed very repetitive. The first half pretty much consisted of Levi, the male protagonist, constantly trying to get Brooklynn, his love interest, to give him a chance over and over and over again. Once they finally become a couple (about the 50% mark) the story speeds up considerably.

I really liked Levi as the male protagonist. He was the typical rock star who sleeps with women on the regular, but once he sets his eyes on Brooklynn, he can’t think about anyone else. His character came off as very sweet and genuine. However, I think that compared to the character development that was put into Brooklynn, his was somewhat lacking. I really liked that character arc of Brooklynn. She was reserved, loyal and very protective over her younger sister. She was harder to like from the beginning of the book, but as her back story was revealed, I started to like her character more and more.

I think that the other members of Stone Butterfly are very intriguing. I am highly interested in reading their stories and getting to know their characters a bit more. This book did set up the future ones, but not enough for me to really know what to expect.

The romance in this was good, but I really didn’t enjoy how it began. Some of Levi’s romantic tactics to capture Brooklynn were cute, but there was a point where I never thought that Brooklynn was just going to relent and give in. Once that happens, the romance becomes very good. I LOVED how sweet, protective and caring Levi was over Brooklynn. It was insta-love, which migh tnot be for everyone.

The number one reason that made me want to read this book was that it had a mystery aspect woven into the story. It was done VERY well and was the unique factor that made this book stand out against all the other rock star romances. I was on the edge of my seat and wanted to know what was going to happen next. And the big reveal blew me away! I had NO idea what was happening and the mystery was definitely me favorite part of this book.

I found this to be a solid read, but the entirety of the book didn’t blow me away. There were some aspects that were brilliant while others were lack luster. I am interested in continuing on with this series because the other members of Stone Butterfly were very charismatic and full of life.
