I truly believe that Elle has a musical background. This book capture the true essence of the music world. Several of my friends live this life and reading this book brought back the love of music that I had, mind you her Spotify playlist is freaking fantastic.

Brooklyn is a musical prodigy, she can hear it and then play it. Levi has a voice from the Gods. These two meet and the love/passion for music is more than words to music. Beyond the love of music and singing Levi and Brooklyn's chemistry is off the charts. Can't wait for more in this series of Stone Butterfly Rockstars.

Levi Matthews is the lead singer of Stone Butterfly. One of the back up singers will be out for maternity leave and they need a new back up signer ASAP.

Brooklynn Hawk, a well known back up signer, agrees to travel on tour with the band for 3 months. The attraction is instant but Levi will find she's not going to just fall at his feet. Brooklynn resists Levi's charm even though she feels the same attraction he does. She's had a rough childhood and isn't willing to risk her career by getting involved with Levi while working with the band. What started out as a temporary gig, turns into so much more and Brooklynn must decide if she can keep Levi at arms length or take a chance and truly live.

This has to be one of the sweetest versions of a rocker romance I've read. The way Levi pursued Brooklynn was incredibly sweet. Not only do we get the sweet side but also a very protective and possessive Hero. If you like a safer rock n roll romance, you'll get that in this book! ARC provided by Netgalley.

Maybe if I had read this a couple of years ago I would have enjoyed it, but for me it was superficial and cliché. Brooklyn was unlikeable, and really I barely knew any of,the, characters. But come on, a beautiful 22 y/o virgin? Of course with a traumatic childhood. And the twist, I saw it coming almost from the beginning. I wonder just how possible it would be , because a certain level,of planning and maturity was necessary that I'm not sure she was capable of. Lastly the sex scenes were not hot. The way Levi talks isn't a turn on, and the theory of harder is better every time is boring, and they were very repetitive.

Brooklynn Hawk is a twenty two year old singer who's talent is highly sought after. Her friend Sheryl helps her get a chance to perform with Stone Butterfly a popular band yet there's an instant spark between Brooklynn and lead singer Levi which we know means there's a romance brewing here.

Over the course of the book, the two grow closer as Brooklynn gives in to Levi's advances after he pursues her relentlessly, he admires her every time they are together and we can tell from the language he uses that he's not giving in to her persistent no's saying it'll only cause drama in the band.

Both characters have families they're protective of and share that in common too. For Levi he has a mum, dad and young sister yet for Brooklynn, she only has her younger sister who needs full care to become independent in the future.

Throughout the book, as Levi and Brooklynn progress in their relationship from bandmates to playmates, odd postcards from all around keep turning up addressed to Levi, so just who thinks they have a shot with the lead singer?

I liked the book, however a lot of sexual language and situations are talked about making this one for the elder teens and young adults as it is a new adult fiction book.

Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!

Rockstar romances are my favorite and this is one not to be missed!

Levi is the lead singer in the rock band Stone Butterfly and he is the typical rockstar with lots of swagger and (of course) lots of women. When one of the band's backup singers take maternity leave, they hire Brooklynn. Her childhood was one tragedy after another ending with her looking after her mentally challenged younger sister. But when Levi and Brooklynn meet ... sparks fly, but Brooklynn resists because she can't think about a relationship when she has her sister's welfare to look out for. The more Brooklynn says "no" ... the more Levi wants her, not only in his bed but by his side in life. Levi starts getting postcards, all unsigned but the are from the same person. He takes it as a joke when they 1st start coming, but as they get more possessive and hint at getting rid of Brooklynn ... he becomes worried. Just when you think you have the mystery solved, Ms. Christensen puts a great big twist in the story.

I could not put this book down, it has everything ... intriguing characters (that I can't wait for their books), plot twists that you won't see coming, laugh out loud moments, very steamy intimate scenes and of course romance. I highly recommend this book!

I received an ARC copy from the author through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

This is the first book that I have read from this author and I was definitely impressed with its originality, amazing characters and a strong storyline . I was captivated right from the start, and continued to be so right until the end. Each character was unique and relatable. The story line was so captivating that I never wanted to put the book down now we just have to wait for the next one.

I liked this book. I've really enjoyed Elle's writing style in the past, and that hasn't changed. While these characters are in their early 20's, and I am not, they were still very relatable.

Brooklynn is a fantastic singer, but she's always put her career on the back burner to care for her developmentally delayed younger sister. Now that her sister is older, and able to be a little more independent, with a live-in caretaker, Brooklynn has a real chance to live out her dreams singing with her favorite band, Stone Butterfly.

Levi is the lead singer and guitarist for Stone Butterfly. One of their backup singers needs to go on maternity leave, and they need a replacement fast. They have always been super picky about who plays with them, and they've left it to the last minute, so now they're having actual auditions, which none of them are happy about. Until Brooklynn walks in and blows them away. The band is fully sold on her, and so is Levi. But, for him, it's much more than that. He feels an instant connection to her, and he's determined to make her his.

Brooklynn is very wary of getting involved with Levi. While she's extremely attracted to him, and is fighting herself constantly, she doesn't want to put her new job at risk. She loves it, and she's become part of the family of the band quickly. She's only really had her sister for family, after an extremely screwed up childhood, and she's not willing to give them all up. Also, she knows that if it doesn't work out, she'll be the one having to leave, not Levi. Levi works diligently to convince her to give him a chance, and eventually she gives in, after they've really gotten to know each other.

I really liked Levi and Brooklynn's chemistry. It was a bit of a slow burn while they really got to know one another, and I loved that. Even while they weren't "together" you could feel their spark. I love when the heroes in books I read are ALL IN, and Levi was definitely that! There was quite a bit of technical aspects to the story, involving the music. Since the main characters, and most of the side characters, are musicians, music was a huge part of the story. There were a few bits where that part went over my head, but it didn't really affect my enjoyment of the story. The world created here was fun and interesting, and I'm glad to know this is the start of a series.

There was a suspense subplot regarding a stalker, that was very well done and a bit unexpected. But it kept me guessing and I love that. Also, I really loved many of the side characters and I can't wait to get to know them better in future books. I can't say much without a spoiler here, but I wish there had been a little more closure between Brooklynn and another character in the end. But. I guess that made it more realistic. Hopefully we'll see a little more of that story in the background of future books? But, overall I really enjoyed this one, and I look forward to the rest of the series!

Another Postcard, (Stone Butterfly Rockstars 1), Elle Christensen

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre:  Romance, New Adult

I love rock band romances, so was excited to get this but....somehow I'm at odds with all those five star reviews I can see as for me this just wasn't a five star read. I hate hate it when that happens :-(   * sigh *

There were parts of the story I enjoyed, that were well put together and fed me into the band aura, that made me feel I was there with them living the dream. That was the actual touring and writing/creating music and lyrics, it felt very realistic.
I love when a book does that, actually incorporates the whole band ethos, rather than just having the lead character be a band member but not actually writing about the scene in a bland, generic way.
I liked the band members, and could feel the sizzle between Levi and Brooklyn right from the start.
I just felt the first half dragged though, that nothing really happened except Brooklynn joined the band, and we met her sister.

The postcards from the title didn't really play a part until the second half, and I'd a pretty good idea early on who was behind things.
I didn't really get a sense of danger and suspense from the read, didn't ever really feel there was any real issues here, and when things did take a turn for the worse it was kind of quickly wrapped up glossed over and tidied up, leaving Brooklynn and Levi free to follow their hearts. That just felt too slick, too easy and I'd have liked a little more reality here.

Sorry, a well written read that many will love, but just an OK, nothing special, read for me.

Stars: Three, well written story which didn't play out as I'd hoped.

Another Postcard is a steamy rock star romance.

Levi is part of Stone Butterfly. A popular band with its own mix of different genres. Brooklynn is a vocalist with a troubled past.

I wanted to love this book. This is the first Christensen book I've read. So I really didn't know what to expect. Levi is pretty abrasive and stops at nothing to get Brooklynn. The whole time I was not sure if I even liked Levi. He was too cave mannish even if he's scorching hot and supremely talented.

The steamy sexy scenes were just that, steamy. It kind of came off a bit corny, if that's the right word. I felt also that there was a lot of descriptions in the book, that weren't necessary. But it didn't stop me from enjoying their story. I just didn't come emotionally invested, as much as I wanted too.

But the way that Christensen described the music, I wish it was a real song that I could listen too.

Overall, I give this Four Boundless Stars

This is the start of a brand new Rockstar series from Elle Christensen, and what a great book to kick it off with. It was fun, sexy, super hot and a great story line.

I really enjoyed Levi and Brooklynn's story. Levi is the lead singer of Stone Butterfly. He is a great character; strong, passionate, sexy and intense. His love and connection with the music is superb and you can really feel his love and passion from the pages.

Brooklynn is also a great female character. As she joins Stone Butterfly as a new backing singer, she becomes more and more involved with the band as her talent, passion and connection to the music is revealed. She is strong, sexy, sassy, and very determined to do the best she can for her and her sister.

I loved Levi's approach towards Brooklynn and the fact he simply did not give up. There was some great humour and banter between the characters, and also with the rest of the band. The chemistry between the 2 of them was smoking hot, and when they connected and sang together, as a reader you could really feel the sizzling heat and passion with the music between them.

Elle Christensen has written this book brilliantly, and as a reader you can tell she either knows her stuff when it comes to music, or she's done some amazing research! You could really feel the authors passion coming through from the characters, thoughts, feelings and actions.

It was filled with some brilliant moments of suspense and intrigue with some brilliant twists I certainly didn't see coming. Just the right amount of angst and feels!

I am left with plenty of questions, but definitely wanting more from this series. I can't wait to find out more from these characters and the other members of the Stone Butterfly family...

4.5 Stars!!

I found the story to be well-written with a good original plot. Enjoyed how the author was able to achieve the happy ending.

Really enjoyed this story, loved Levi and all his possessive alpha marshmallowness but Brooklyn made the story for me. Poor thing had been through so much that she could open be so caring and put other people first was amazing. The little things she did for others and the way she looked out for Baylee showed how unselfish she was, even though her kindness was thrown back in her face, she never sank to their level. Truly an enjoyable read, I look forward to more in this series.
