You can be whoever you want to be at summer camp and Princess Merriam just wants to escape her royal duties for a while. Her father has planned an arranged marriage for her and just she wants to escape her body guards and be an average person. She plans to experience life a little before she has to settle down with the acceptable man her father has chosen for her.

The only problem is Harmon, her personal body guard. His family has protected the royal family for generations and now it's his turn. Merriam begs to stay at the camp for the week and Harmon reluctantly agrees, but only if they pretend to be interested in each other. When the lines between pretend and reality begin to blur, will they remember their duties?

Merriam was a stronger character than people gave her credit for. She knew she wanted to do SOMETHING besides dress up and look pretty. When an opportunity came up she took it and adapted well to the situation. Harmon was that strong, silent, brooding type that put all personal feeling aside to do his job. The battle of wills was interesting to see unfold in such an unusual backdrop, an adult camp. The story was good until the end; I always feel like authors rush the ending.

Princess Merriam was facing an arranged marriage and she just wanted to run away for a week; one last time before she agreed to marry whomever her father deemed appropriate and right. She made her escape to a Singles Camp and thought she had gotten away scot-free and looked forward to letting her hair down one last time.

Harmon Maxwell, Duke of Carlisle, was the man in charge of the royal family's security. He found Princess Merriam at the Singles Camp and agreed to let her stay for the week if he would be allowed to be her "pretend boyfriend" for the week to keep her away from undesirables. The way he could keep an eye on her and keep her safe. Unfortunately, he had feelings for the Princess but had never acted on them before now. Was it possible for him to make it through the week without losing his heart?

I was given an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I had a hard time with the story because while it was sweet and Harmon was a sweet, gentle man when he let his guard down and his feelings seemed genuine, I grew tired of the constant focus on sex. While I understand they had chemistry, I would have enjoyed the story more with more development of their feelings before they jumped each other's bones.

Really cute, quick read. Merriam was such a sweetheart, how could Harmon help but be in love with her.

I am sorry but this is not my kind of book. I feel it should have been listed as Erotica, in which case I wouldn't have requested it. I don't feel that this book should be sent out as is without letting people know what they are getting. Since it wasn't a book I felt I could review without reading it all, I will have to pass on that front. I am giving it a one star because I feel so strongly about the mislabeling.

Harmon and Merriam are the two stars of this book. He is pretty much a boy she grew up with whose father was the palaces security. The father died when Merriam mother, the queen got blown up. He then took over as bodyguard and she loves being a pain in his butt.

It was an ok read. I felt Harmon was very wishy washy. He loved Merriam but he doesn't want to be with her. I just did not get it. Merriam was a sweet character and I liked her zest for life and how she tortures Harmon. This story mostly takes place in an adult summer camp she runs away to, when she hears her father is planning to marry her off.

I loved how she takes control of her life and eventually Harmon gets a clue and comes back and romances her.

Not my first Camp Firefly Falls book, but I really liked this one. The Princess flees overhearing her father the King and her chief bodyguard, the Duke discussing an arranged marriage for her. Harmon the Duke, is in charge of keeping her safe, that includes her brother as well. But his main focus is Merriem. When she beelines out of a ball in NYC and hops a bus to Camp Firefly in a ball gown assuming someone else name, she has no idea it's Singles Weekend. Perfect for her!! She wants that one last hurrah before she has to succumb to her fathers wishes.
When Harmon realizes she's given them the slip, he tracks her to the camp and assumes the role of her boyfriend. But still her bodyguard. This guy can't get his head out of his backside. Merriem has a boatload of not so nice nicknames for the Duke of Curmudgeon as she calls him. Takes himself way to seriously. He loosens up on this trip and the surprises just keep coming. When Matthew her brother shows up, it throws a slight wrench into the works. But like in every good story, the other Princess slipper must drop and the royal dung hits the fan. My heart broke for Merriem and I wanted to throat punch Harmon for being a jerk. Ahh, but the Princess survives and thrives despite her wounded heart.
So dontcha just know that Harmon shows back up at Camp (surprise!!) some months later. Caught me off guard. Watching the rest of the story unfold was just perfect.
This story was so well written, Gwen writes a great story the Camp Firefly books are a quick and fun read with lots of love.
4.5 stars from me on this one. Loved it.
