I love American Horror Story so much (well... the first few seasons anyway!) so it was very interesting to read a collection of essays talking about the much-loved show. Well written, and I actually used a couple of the essays as references in an essay I was writing about horror TV for university.

If you're a fan of AHS then you will enjoy this extensive look at the beginning and all seasons up to 7. The essayists keep things fairly neutral to positive for the series and its creators, which is fine by me. I'm a big fan. I learned quite a bit I didn't already know and had a lot of my own theories confirmed or challenged in a satisfying way. The writing is straightforward and not boring. I look forward to more seasons of the horror anthology and hopefully another volume of interesting essays.

Received a Net Galley ARC for an unbiased review.

Reading American Horror Story edited by Rebecca Janicker was received direct from the publisher. The book is a collection of essays about the immensely popular television show, arguably the best horror themed anthology show on at this time. For those who dont know, each season has a different topic though many actors are "recycled," from season to season. The essays, in my opinion, read like college term papers. If you or someone you buy gifts for is an American Horror Story watcher from season to season, this book can expound on what is watched in ways you never would have thought as possible.
