i almost put this book down several times because i just could not get into it. the writing was very amateur and the story seemed to skip all over the place. the timing and the characters kept jumping around. i never really understood how tom was a logger who then saved the gulch but then went back to logging. i thought the ending was a bit abrupt as well.
