The story was very predictable. I also usually don't like first person present tense unless it's done well, and this was not done well. I would have preferred more detail in the story as well. The writing just felt very lukewarm and unsavory. Disappointed.

Blind date by Bella Jewell.
Hartley Watson is saying goodbye to her husband at his funeral. Little does she know someone is watching her. Four years later her best friend talks her into going on a blind date. She agrees to 3. The first one is a disaster. The 2nd one is worse. Taylor her best friend talks her into the 3rd one. Jacob seems ok. He's a gentleman and good looking. But after a while odd things start to happen. Is someone doing these things?
Omg an absolutely fantastic read. I loved the story and some of the characters. There were some characters I didn't like. Jacob being one of them. I loved how Hartley and Ace were. Wow didn't expect that. 5*. Highly recommended.

Well, I think I can honestly say that I enjoyed this book, but didn't love it. The hero wasn't someone I would like at first, so it took me awhile to warm up to him.
Also, the killer was predictable and needed more suspense, but nonetheless it was done ok.
Will definitely try more books from this author.

Blind Date is the third book in Bella Jewel's series of Romantic Suspense novels. Each book can be read as a standalone and don't need to be read in order.

This was another enjoyable and edge of my seat read. I will say this isn't my favorite of all the books. I found this one a little too obvious for me. I was able to figure out who the villain was pretty early on in the book. In the other books (72 Hours & The Watcher) the villain was kept a secret oil closer to the end of the story. Now even though I figured it out, I was still enthralled with the story because I wanted to see how everything played out.

The other negative for me, even though it's not really a negative....I wish the love story played a little bit bigger of a part in the story. Hartley and Ace's connection is a really slow burn. It took them close to the entire book before they connected. I just like the couple to connect sooner in the story. Although to be honest the suspenseful storyline kind of makes you forget about the love story.

I don't want to talk about the storyline too much because I don't want to spoil it for other readers. Just know this is a fast pace and thrilling ride. The story is told primarily from Hartley's POV and is a complete standalone novel.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of Bella's work and loves a romantic suspense story. This is an amazing series of books from this author and I really hope she doesn't stop here.

Bella Jewel is proving time and time again she can write twisted dark romance with some suspense thrown in. I love this series its off the charts! Ace is my new BF, very broody. Hartley had to grow on me ended up really liking her. If you want a page turner look no further!

This may be my favorite so far which is great since it had me on the edge all the time . What wasn't as good as I wanted was the romance. I would like to have more romance. The build up was great but everything was too slow.

So I finished this book a little while ago, but it's taken me a while to get my thoughts in order.. I love this author, but this story was different. I finished it, went to write my review & found I'd sort of forgotten bits & pieces. I went back & reread a few paragraphs & here we are!

I feel like this book is good. That's all I've got. It was a little too predictable, not enough suspense & the 'romance'.. well, it all just sort of fell a little flat for me.

All of that being said, the story was fine, as were the characters. I think a little omphh here & there would make all the difference!

I have read a lot of Bella Jewel works and have enjoyed most of them. This story was good and had a bit of different story line. While I enjoyed it, I was able to read into the 'who done it' half way through the story. There were a few place that the story had a tend to drag. All in all it was good but only 3.5 star worth.

I have read most of everything that Miss Jewel has published , but was not aware of this suspense romance she has been writing. I am a FAN!
I finished this book in one sitting, I could not put it down. I like an amature, started reading this late at night. I was so creeped out. It's not frightening or a blood bath. It is just so creepy, for lack of a better word.
I was immediately taken with Hartley, she is an amazing leading lady. Her spunk and strong will nature has me in , from the first few paragraphs. She has suffered a loss that would leave anyone absolutely devestated and it did. When she decides, not fully on board to get back out there and try her hand at dating again. Let's just say that things do not go so well front he very first date. Not wanting to fulfill her promise to her friend Taylor but even more so not wanting to let Taylor down, Hart agrees to go one one more date.
To say that this story line was not predictable would be a lie. That is the only thing that I was really let down by. This was so easy to figure out . You knew from their first meeting that Jacob was going to be the bad guy. Well at least I did.
The introduction of Ace was hilarious. With Hartley's need to make her neighbor say "Hello" and his need to stay silent and not interact, made for a funny subplot. Ace, he is just everything I want in my leading man. Strong, brooding, sexy and protective...typical Alpha male, and I LOVE it. He was the perfect match for Hartley, even if he would never admit it.
This story has a clear message for women, do not sit by and become another victim! Take action and do not let anyone take away your control. Be smart, be vigilant and know what when something feels off, don't dismiss it. I truly loved Hartley and Taylor's instinct to survive. Neither one of them ever gave up and I found that so awesome. They did not wait to be rescued, they rescued themselves!
I am looking forward to more of this writing from Ms. Jewel
Bravo.

Blind Date is just what readers look for in a good romantic suspense. It's full of twists and turns, with a romance that is slow to burn........but once it ignites hold onto your hats. There's nothing to dislike about this title.

Blind Date is another thriller from Bella Jewel that will have you sleeping with the lights on and seriously questioning dating sites.

Hartley lost her husband 4 years ago in an accident. Her BFF Taylor cons her into getting 'back out there' and sets her up on some blind dates via a website. The first two? Total duds. However, on date three she meets Jacob and there are sparks. They click and begin to see each other but obviously, Hartley wants to take things slow. However, strange things start happening. Her late husband's t shirt is on the kitchen table one morning with no explanation. Then she wakes up to find their wedding video playing on the TV. Jacob and Taylor convince her that its due to her sleepwalking combined with her reentry into the dating world. While that seems the most logical answer, Hart is skeptical.

There is also her rude neighbor, Ace. He is a detective and despite Hart's attempts to be polite by saying 'Hello', he continues to treat her like she is invisible. They slowly begin to get to know each other a little; of course, all this is taking place while weird things are happening in her home...Ace was difficult. He kept to himself and generally came across as angry and unapproachable. His developing friendship with Hart took time and persistence on her part.

I thought that the villain was very obvious; however, the suspense of the story lies in the how and why more so than the who. I read Blind Date very quickly as well because I needed to know how it would all turn out. Hartley's struggle to determine what is real and what isn't was engrossing and heart stopping because as a reader, you know she isn't crazy! Jewel manages to give you something expected and yet still keep you on your toes in ways you didn't imagine. I am really loving her romantic suspense stories because they are all unique in some way that is totally unexpected for me!

Blind Date
Bella Jewel
5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another winner for Bella Jewel!! Once I started reading this one I couldn't stop until I was finished. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I couldn't wait to find out who the killer was. She had me questioning and second guessing all the characters in the book.

I can't wait for another Bella Jewel novel to come out! I'm addicted. Thanks NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

'Blind Date’ by Bella Jewel is a good romantic suspense thriller that I enjoyed reading. For me it did take a little time for the story to really get going and i give it 3.5 stars.

After the death of her husband four years ago Hartley hasn't taken much interest in dating anyone else but after being encouraged by her best friend to get back in the game. After agreeing and going on three blind dates she starts to wonder if she is losing her mind a little as strange things begin to start happening. However she soon realises that there is something going on and there is someone out there who is out to mess with her.

As is said I did enjoy this read and will definitely read more from this author but unfortunately I found this book to be a bit of a slow starter. I also had quite a strong suspicion early on who it might be that was out to get her but it was so well written that I didn't mind reading on. This is another interesting suspense read by this author ad if you are a fan of her work or not I am sure you will appreciate her writing in this book.

After the death of her husband, Hartley is not really ready to jump back into the dating scene, even after a few years. But with her best friend constantly hounding her to get back out there, she takes a chance and promises to go on three blind dates through a website her friend finds.

And then the stalking begins......things are mysteriously moved in her apartment and she's getting a very dreadful feeling. How lucky is she that her neighbor, Ace, is a detective for the police department. Unluckily, he is a moody bastard who hasn't given her the time of day since she moved in. But maybe her need for protection stirs something in him, because he jumps at the task and begins investigating her past, present, and of course, the three men from her blind dates. There were many suspects.

A good, quick read and I really ended up falling for Ace, even if he was a jerk at first! LOL!

I love Bella Jewel and everything she writes. This deeper, darker side of her is everything my dreams are made of! Her past three books.... PERFECTION. Serial killers, stalkers, psycho lovers. IT'S THE BEST THING EVER. Knew this one would be a winner for me just by that prologue!

Bella has this knack to keep you turning pages no matter the genre. I found myself thinking about the book, about the characters even when I set the book down to do "real life". THAT is what a good writer does. Makes you think about the characters in a fictional world when you aren't even with them.

This is definitely suspenseful, even knowing the *who* fairly quickly. I mean, maybe you don't but it's made obvious on purpose, I think. If the title doesn't give it away, well.... carry on! Lol

Even though I figured it out, it still has it's suspense factor down pat. If anything, it was even more crazy because you know what she's doing... and what this guy is... and all the factors of who he is come into play... get my drift? It makes your heart race and you want to shout at your kindle for the Heroine. I'm going to stay vague here so that nothing else is revealed. Just read it. And read two before this one too.

Suspense/psychological tropes are where it's at for this author!
