This was a really cute romance with family ties, loss, old love and new love.

I absolutely loved the first cottonbloom instalment so I was really excited to start leave the night on and while I did enjoy this especially Wyatt I didn't enjoy it as much as book 1. I think for me I just wanted Sutton to kick everyone's ass mainly Andrew and Bree's I can see why in the end she didn't but I so wanted her to get down right pissed at them and give them both a good grilling.

Wyatt was just precious thought this I totally loved him and most of his family definitely with the exception of Ford who I downright hated there was a few moments in this I thought he was going to do something so unthinkable but thank heaven's it didn't happen.

Overall I enjoyed this instalment it was cute, fun and easy to read. I always love how important family roots/ties are in these books. Definitely be reading another Cottonbloom book

I received this ARC from St. Martin's Press in exchange for an honest review.

From time to time, I have the opportunity to read and review books from St. Martin's Press.  Today's book is Leave the Night On by Laura Trentham.  While the book has the same title as the Sam Hunt song, they have nothing to do with each other.  Just thought I'd put that out there.  I tried to remember Laura Trentham, but I don't think I've ever read any of her other books. I even checked her website to review titles of her other books thinking I must have since the name sounded so familiar. But I guess not.

Anyway...... onto the book.  Leave the Night On is an awesome romance.  It's well written and a quick read - perfect for the beach or a rainy day.  While the plot is familiar, it flows well and keeps you turning pages from cover to cover.  The story mixes the good girl with the bad boy from the other side of the river. It provides readers with family drama and confused feelings, while at the same time it leads readers through Sutton's discovery of who she is.

The Abbott family is a hard working blue collar family.  Wyatt Abbott is strong and loyal but has a reputation that carries to both sides of the state line. He's a very sweet guy who has great character and has a heart of gold. Wyatt has a twin brother, Jackson and an older brother, Mack with the eldest Abbott brother, Ford. The family struggles through their emotions of grieving their beloved father and trying to carry on their family business after his loss.

Sutton is a woman moving through the world searching (and fighting) for her own happiness despite the pressures of her wealthy family.  There's also the pressure of a loser ex-fiancé (Camaro) and her family's wealthy position. She shows the world she's not afraid to push the button to fight for herself.

Without giving away too much of the story line, I'll tell you that Wyatt and Sutton start out as a "pretend relationship". This relationship quickly develops into something very special and both of them have a hard time defining it.  They both find they have a lot in common and it was actually fun watching their relationship evolve throughout the story.

I can't wait to read more of the Cottonbloom series and more of Laura Trentham too! If you're looking for a fun and exciting romance, Leave the Night On is for you!

I received an advanced digital copy of this book from St. Martin's Press and NetGalley in exchange for this post.  I was not required to leave a positive review. Thanks so much!

The Cottonbloom series was recommended to me by a good friend when it first came out and I have been hooked ever since. The first books were with the Fournette siblings and now we have the sexy Abbott brothers. I loved this book so much, I am reviewing it twice. Laura Trentham knows how to write unforgettable male heroes.
Sutton Mize is a girl who you think has it all until she discovers that her fiance has been cheating on her. Wyatt witnesses her heartbreaking discovery when she brings a classic car to his family's garage for some restoration. He had a crush on her in school, but they were from two different worlds, She's from the wealthy side and he's from the blue collar side of town.
I loved watching the changes that happened to Sutton after she discovers who her fiance cheated on her with. It is really a painful moment in her life. Talk about a wake up call! She goes through some eye opening self examination and the sexy Wyatt is there to help pick up the pieces. She realizes that lately she has just been going through the motions and not really living her life for herself and her own happiness. Sutton strikes a deal with Wyatt for a fake romance in order to save face and it turns out to be the best deal she's ever made. With Wyatt's support, she starts to really enjoy life and the things she truly has a passion for, which now includes him.
Yes, I still have a crush on Wyatt! He is such a sweet and generous hero. Though having Sutton's back may help improve business at his family's garage, he can't help falling for the girl of his dreams. I loved how he easily charms many of the women in Sutton's wealthier world. He's no fake either, even if their "romance" starts off that way. He is sexy, strong and kind and there is a sense of vulnerability in him that may have some readers swooning while these realize their deal may just be the best thing that has ever happened to them.
LEAVE THE NIGHT ON is a charming romance with a lot of heart. There are plenty of laughs and some sizzling fun between Sutton and Wyatt. I love this town of Cottonbloom on both sides of the river and I wonder which brother's story is up next. I can't wait! 4.5 Stars!

This is my second trip to Cottonbloom, and like the first time, I just loved my time there. With this trip, I got to know Sutton and Wyatt. Sutton has a boutique that caters to wealthy clients, and she is engaged to someone who shares her privileged background. She is a judge’s daughter, and her future husband is an attorney. Sutton is waiting in a garage having her fiance’s Camaro restored when she finds a lace thong under the seat. She knows exactly who it belongs to, and her world tilts on its side. To make matters worse, all this happens in front of the man who used to torture her as a child….Wyatt Abbott.

Wyatt has had a crush on Sutton since they were kids. So, of course, when he sees her meltdown, he’s angry. He can’t imagine someone doing that to her. I fell in love with Wyatt right then and there when he goes into protective mode with her. He makes sure she is taken care of. When he drops her off at home, he thinks he won’t see her again. Despite his feelings for her, he knows she is way out of his league. However, Sutton, puts herself front and center in his life when she tells her fiancé that she has been involved and still is with Wyatt. Instead of balking at the idea, Wyatt goes right along with it, making it even more convincing with hot, searing kisses. What happens when their real feelings start becoming more evident? Can these two from completely different walks of life really find lasting happiness together?

Wyatt and Sutton are a great couple together. They complete one another. Sutton has always been concerned about what others think of her, so she is always trying to please others, and she has been afraid to fully live her life and achieve her dreams. Wyatt teaches her to have fun, have confidence in herself, and to reach for those dreams. Sutton calms some of the restlessness that Wyatt feels and gets him to open up about his past. Their chemistry is sizzling. The sex scenes were not graphic, but Trentham used Wyatt and Sutton’s feelings for one another to make them just as sexy. They will leave you with butterflies in your stomach.

Leave the Light on was the right combination of sexy and sweet. It was also very well-written, and I loved the addition of the secondary characters, especially Wyatt’s aunts and brothers. They really added to the story. In addition to Wyatt and Sutton’s romance was the backstory of Wyatt’s family. There are still some unanswered questions about his family that I’m sure will be answered in future books. I’m anxious to get his brothers’ stories, especially Ford’s. Ford wasn’t my favorite character at all, but I am curious to know his secrets. So, I bid Cottonbloom farewell again, and I will be looking forward to coming back again, hopefully really soon!

I enjoyed the characters and the storyline in this book but could have done with a bit less of the sex scenes. Those are not what I read a book for. I do want to find out what happens to all the rest of the brothers in the family. I liked Wyatt and Sutton. I even liked Sutton's parents once we got to hear more about them. I did really enjoy the story. I received a copy of this book from St. Martin's Press for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

I love visiting Cottonbloom and this was no exception. Wyatt and Sutton are on opposite sides of the track or you could say river. Wyatt has always had a fondness for Sutton. When Wyatt finds the unthinkable under the seat of Sutton's car seat things change in their lives. Sutton needs Wyatt's help in a fake relationship but it turns into so much more. But there is a curse in Wyatt's family that he must overcome first.

This is a feel good romance. Love the characters! I highly recommend this series, but can be read as a stand alone.

This is a brilliant, sexy, sizzling read. Good to read to brighten up these miserable summer days. It's the love story of Sutton and Wyatt. Sutton has just found out that her fiancé is cheating on her with her best friend, Bella. Wyatt happened to be there when Sutton found out and totally out of character for her, she asks him to be her pretend boyfriend!. The story works really well and with Wyatt having three sexy brothers! There is surely room for a sequel or two!

I’ve seen a few reviews where people have had a problem with Sutton – I think they feel like she didn’t put as much effort in or that she took advantage of Wyatt.  But relationships aren’t always even.  Sometimes you are having a bad time of it, like Sutton, and need the support.  Wyatt does a fantastic job of being there for her, even when it’s not easy for him, and helping her find her mojo.

You get the feeling she’s never really had anyone push her or challenger her to be the person she wants to be.  Instead she’s just done the expected thing and floated through life.  With the discovery of being cheated on, not just by her fiancé but her best friend, things are turned upside down.  Luckily Wyatt is there to catch her and help her find her place.  He’s just hoping it will be by his side …

Wyatt comfortable in his own skin and has a good idea of who he is.  It’s his family that has a bit of the drama going on.  Ever since his dad died things haven’t been easy for the brothers and it seems to be getting worse.  Having Sutton ask him to be her fake boyfriend, something that he wouldn’t mind making real, is a good diversion from the more difficult things at home.

It’s those problems at home that you know will turn into some great future stories  :)  The closeness among Wyatt’s brothers (or at least most of the brothers) is heart-warming but also got me very curious about what things they are hiding from each other.  Trentham yet again creates an interesting group of people with a lot of potential.

If you love small town charm, quirky characters, and touching love stories, Trentham's Cottonbloom series is a must read - she is definitely making a name for herself as a go-to author of southern contemporary romances.   While this is part of a bigger series, Leave the Night On is the start of a new subsection and can easily stand on its own so those that are new to this little divided town definitely have a great place to start.  And it means that you are all set to enjoy all the delicious goodness that the Abbott brothers are sure to bring!  (But don't blame me if you find yourself adding a whole lot of her backlist to your TBR pile  :) )

BTW, for those that worry about the apparent one-sidedness of their relationship, the epilogue does a good job of showing exactly how well Sutton gets Wyatt.

Leave The Night On was my first visit to Cottonbloom, but it certainly won’t be my last! A seductive Southern charmer that has got keeper written all over it, Leave The Night On is a fabulous read that touches the heart and tickles the funny bone!

When Sutton Mize decided to have her fiance’s Camaro restored, the last thing she had imagined was finding a lace thong in the classic car which did not belong to her, but to her best friend! In one second, Sutton’s hopes and dreams for a rosy future with her fiance are cruelly dashed, but luckily for her Wyatt Abbott witnesses this most embarrassing moment and a wonderful plan is hatched: Sutton’s two-timing cheating fiance is going to get a taste of his own medicine and she is going to pretend that she also has a lover – and Wyatt is the perfect man for the job!

Wyatt has had a crush on Sutton for years and he is flabbergasted that her fiance could have the gall to cheat on somebody as beautiful as her. When Sutton tells him of her plan to become pretend lovers, Wyatt has got no qualms about stepping into the role he has been dreaming about ever since he was a kid – the only problem is that he cannot help but wish that he was Sutton’s boyfriend for real! As their fictional love affair and their pretend kisses give way to something deeper and far more real than either one of them imagined, Sutton and Wyatt find themselves wondering whether they should make their convenient arrangement a reality…

Has true love been under Sutton’s nose all along? Or will she let this chance at happiness slip through her fingers?

If you like romantic comedies, you are going to love Laura Trentham and Leave The Night On! A writer who is well on her way to becoming as big a name in the genre as Jill Shalvis and Rachel Gibson, Leave The Night On sizzles with delicious repartee, wicked sensuality, red-hot chemistry, rib-tickingly humour and feel-good romance.

Society queen Sutton is a fantastic heroine you will root for and sexy Wyatt is a wonderfully sexy hero who proves that nice guys are certainly more than a match for their brooding Alpha counterparts.

A sensational read that I absolutely adored, Leave the Night On is a stellar romantic comedy that ticks all the right boxes!

I was provided a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest and fair review. This book tells the story of Wyatt Abbott, a mechanic, and Sutton Mize, a judge’s daughter. Wyatt has had a crush on Sutton since they were kids, but being from the wrong side of Cottonbloom, he never acted on it. Well that isn’t entirely true, he acted on it in the sense that, like a young boy does, he teased her and played pranks on her, but Sutton appropriately interpreted this as him being mean rather than him liking her. Now that they’re all grown, Sutton brings her fiance’s car into Wyatt’s family shop to get renovated. She’s completely thrown for a loop when she finds another woman’s panties under the front seat of the car. She’s thrown for an even bigger loop when her fiance (Andrew) admits to everything she feared, and so in a spur-of-the-moment decision Sutton tells Andrew that she doesn’t really care anyway since she’s been fooling around with Wyatt. And so begins a tangled web of lies that really only end up acting as a cover for Sutton and Wyatt’s growing infatuation. But with a relationship that began on so many unfounded facts (aka lies), can they really build something lasting?

Overall I like this book okay. It was a pretty solid read for a romance novel, it didn’t do anything to wow or surprise me but at the same time I did enjoy it for the most part. Some of the conversations are a bit cheesy, and the miscommunication between the hero and heroine was frustrating since the reader can read their thoughts the whole time. Books like that I always get frustrated thinking ‘if you could just be honest with each other we wouldn’t have these issues.’ Maybe that’s something that we as humans should strive more for is being honest with people around us whether we know them super well or not. But I think that’s a talk for another time. Anyways Wyatt and Sutton’s love story was sweet and cute and I like the setting of the book especially. This one had a bit of a Grease (like the musical) feel to it since the goody-two-shoes girl is a good influence on the guy and the guy is a little bit of a bad influence on the girl (just enough to let her experience some different things). In the end they develop great affection for each other and it’s a pretty good love story. I would recommend, especially in connection with the series, which I enjoy.

Wow! I loved this sweet, low angst, opposites attract romance. Laura Trentham's storytelling is beautiful and compelling. Her main characters are irresistibly likable with just as essential secondary characters. With the pull of summer, I have had a difficult time staying connected with my reading choices. Yet, once I started Leave the Night On, I didn't want to stop. The story, characters, and small-town life pulled me in and kept me mesmerized. Although this is the 4th story in the Cottonbloom series, it was my first book. It absolutely stands on it's own. Since I do own all of the other books in the series, I will be devouring them soon. Simply put, this was a wonderfully written, sweetly romantic and fun story that cements Trentham as a favorite author. (This is a voluntary review of an advanced

LEAVE THE NIGHT ON (Cottonbloom: #4) Written by Laura Trentham

AUGUST 1, 2016; 350 Pages (St. Martin's Paperbacks)
Genre: romance, contemporary, small town, series

(I received an ARC from the PUBLISHER via NETGALLEY in exchange for an honest review.)

Rating: ★★★ 1/2

We return to Cottonbloom, but this time we meet the Abbott brothers - four brothers running their family business - fixing and restoring cars. Wyatt Abbott, one of the twins, is set to work on Sutton Mize's fiance's car for a big commission for the shop. As he empty's the car's glove compartment he accidentally unleashes heartbreak for Sutton. They find receipts for fancy dinners and a thong underwear that was custom made by Sutton for her best friend, Bree. When Andrew, Sutton's finace, and Bree confront Sutton together she tells them she has been cheating too...with Wyatt.
Wyatt, who has always had a thing for Sutton as kids, readily agrees and the two end up falling for each other.

I really liked this one! I found Wyatt so endearing and I could relate to Sutton (like I could with Tally). Even though I knew they were destined for a HEA I was invested in seeing how they would get there. We do see some of the characters from the first three books come through so it is a nice surprise if you have read them before. If not, they just seem like random characters with some importance and they are overly described for the part they play. I recommend this series...and is perfect for the remaining weeks of Summer.

This is one of the best series I've read in a while. Sutton and Wyatt are the most recent opposite side of the tracks couples in Cottonbloom. Sutton thinks she's boring after her jerk of an ex blames her for his cheating. She truly is secretly spunky and a bit rebellious. Wyatt is charming, sweet and determined to show Sutton that she's truly fascinating. He's been infatuated with her since they were children. Their connection is obvious even when Sutton thinks Wyatt doesn't like her at all. The elders are always the backbone of the story. They're the glue that keeps Cottonbloom together.
If you enjoy a small town romance that is sexy and a story of true love I highly recommend Leave the Night On.

Love this small Southern town! It's full of charm and excitement. Love Wyatt, hot, hot, hot! You're rooting for them from the beginning even though it starts off with them more of an arrangement. I can't wait for the next trip to Cottonbloom!

Sutton Mize brought her fiance’s Camaro to the Abbot’s Garage to have it checked, but found an incriminating evidence inside the car – a laced thong that didn’t belong to her, but to her best friend.

To save face, she told her ex-lover that she’d been dating the hunky mechanic Wyatt Abbott and stirred gossip around Cottonbloom. It wasn’t until they realized they were using each other to get what they needed.

This is just the kind of sweet and exciting story I need to read after a stressful day. Wyatt Abbott could be my newest book boyfriend and stress-reliever. Gotta love a man who knows cars and cherish ’em. Although, despite the fact that I’ve read multitudes of stories about pretend lovers ultimately falling in love in the end, it was their journey on how they realized their feelings for each other that really get me everytime.

Sutton and Wyatt are from opposite sides of Mississippi but this didn’t hinder them from taking chances on their feelings. Thanks to Sutton’s cheating fiance and conniving best friend, she found herself crying in the arms of Wyatt, her childhood friend and apparently a longtime secret admirer.

Wyatt Abbott really got me, hook, line and sinker. I thought he was quite naive in love, despite his reputation as a ladies man. Sutton is a little snob, due to her lavish upbringing. I wasn’t quite smitten with her in the beginning but she earned my trust at the end of the book.

Cheers to another great story from the Cottonbloom series by Laura Trentham! Can’t wait to read Jackson’s story next!

I received this ARC copy of Leave the Night from St. Martin’s Press via Netgalley.

Wyatt was absolutely gorgeous; a southern gentleman on the surface and sexy as sin underneath. He was perfection! A sweet guy with a heart of gold who hadn't been dealt the best hand in life. A guy who would lay his life on the line for family and 'sell his souls for the key to Sutton's heart'. You can't help but swoon for him when reading this delicious book.

Sutton, the southern belle who has it all ... or so it seems to the outside world. What lay beneath was a girl too afraid to go after what she really wanted in life. And then along comes Wyatt to turn her world upside down. I adored Sutton and her journey in this story. She was a delight to read.

This book was so much more than I expected. It was incredibly sexy, yet sweet at times too. So very well written and ended too soon. I loved the hints given to other character's stories and look forward to reading more from this author. 4.5 heartfelt stars.

When I picked this book up I didn’t realize it was part of a series. However, I don’t think the books have to be read in order, they just might give a little background on some of the characters in town.
I like how this one town sits on the state line between Mississippi and Louisiana. It has that “other side of the tracks” type mentality but that doesn’t stop people when they are in love from finding each other. Such is the case of Sutton and Wyatt – they went to school together and Wyatt has always had a thing for Sutton. It is just good timing that she bring a car to him to be restored and he finds evidence of her fiance’s betrayal which only works to his benefit!
But of course the path to true love can never be easy and both Sutton and Wyatt have different things to deal with from their past (or their reputation) but of course love is going to win.
This was a fun read and it felt like a town that I wouldn’t mind visiting and perhaps living in..although I’m not sure I would want to be related to a majority of the town.
We give this 4 paws up!

Fiance (or boyfriend) cheating with best friend may not be a unique story line, but the way this flirty and sexy, yet sweet and heart-warming romance is carried out is. Impressed and relieved Trentham avoided the cliche rich-parents-don’t-approve-of-the-lower-class-lover, I read this one-sitting read with a smile on my face and anticipation in my heart. Bring on the rest in the series!

Sutton Mize is as unique as her name. She is the privileged daughter of a judge- the town’s only judge it seems- but she’s warm and caring. Her vulnerable side is on full display and she has a surprising, yet believable mix of confidence and questionable self-esteem. Totally human and lovable.

The same can be said about Wyatt. Sweet, chivalrous, loyal, alpha-male Wyatt is what most women dream of. He may not be rich, but he works hard and makes an honest living. He wears his heart on his sleeve, but he’s strong and doesn’t play games. He faces challenges with decency and respect, and he stands up for himself and those he loves. These two made my heart sing and I absolutely, totally adored them both.

Aunts Hazel and Hyacinth made their mark. They’re funny and memorable, and I’d love to read more about them. Mack and Jackson also have my attention, and I can’t wait to see what’s up with Willa. There has to be a story there. Andrew was the typical jackass of an arrogant ex, and I was thankful the story didn’t revolve around him getting revenge or trying to ruin her and her family. Another avoided cliche, just like the way the situation with Bree was handled – all testaments to Trentham’s excellent writing skills.

A definite must-read!
