This is book four in the Cottonbloom series and I did read the first 2 books but I didn't read the third but you don't really need to read all the books to be able to follow the story.

This is a cute but predictable romance. I did enjoy this book though and I liked the characters. I did shed a few tears while reading this story.

Leave The Night On by Laura Trentham (Cottonbloom) #4 ....I really enjoyed this book as it is the first book I have read by Laura Trentham...It will not be the last...She pulled me right into the story and I don't want to leave...Sutton and Wyatt are perfect for each other and with a HEA for them and a little mystery left for later I can't wait for the next book. I really don't know what to do next... I hope to find a book to pull me back...Needles to say 5 starts is not enough for this book.

I really felt sorry for Sutton. She lost her fiancée and best friend all in the same day. But, she got to know Wyatt better because of it. And with his encouragement, she came out of her shell. I really liked three of the Abbott brothers. I hope we will find out why Ford acts the way he does and where he went when he disappeared. I want to hear more from the Abbott brothers.

Wyatt has had a crush on Sutton since they were kids. But never did anything about it what with him living on the wrong side of the river and all. But when Sutton learns of her best friends affair with her fiancé he is right there with her, supporting her.
To get back at her fiancé, Sutton comes up with an idea of a fake relation with Wyatt. But soon the agreement didn't feel very fake, what with burgeoning friendship, flirtation and a healthy dose of attraction.
Leave the night on is a lovely, sweet story. They both had insecurities and watching them get over them was very endearing. I loved the bond between the Abbott brothers and hope to see Ford a part of it soon. Can't wait to see which of the Abbott brothers is next to fall in love.

Review: I thoroughly enjoyed the original Cottonbloom trilogy so I'm glad that it's being expanded.

This first book in the next trilogy revisits the old class wars and different side of the river prejudices that readers will be familiar with. Sutton is from the posh side of the river with classy parents. She forges a deal with Wyatt the lowly car mechanic in a bid to show her cheating ex-fiance that she's over him. They both end up finding more than they expected in their fake relationship and a happy ever after ensues.

This book was enjoyable but I looking forward to Jackson/Willa's story even more (WHAT DO YOU MEAN I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL 2018?!?!?!).

PS. I really really dislike Ford. At the start I was hoping he was going to turn out to be the black sheep brother with issues who works his way back into the fold and gets his own happy ever after but I really don't see that happening.

Who needs soap operas when the citizens of Cottonbloom are only a bookshelf away. Laura Trentham knows what her readers want. In my case, she reeled me in with her sweet tale of small town living and big city heartache. Leave the Night On gives readers something to talk about with a hint of scandal and a bushel of heart to guide the way. Sutton is my type of heroine. She's not afraid to rock the boat to prove she's nobody's victim. In this case I think she got more than she bargained for. She lost her heart, but gained something much more precious. Her self - respect and a love she never dreamed of. Wyatt and Sutton may be wrong for each other, but nevertheless, they make perfect sense. Sometimes a bad decision can end up leading to the right one.

Leave the Night On by Laura Trentham is full of excitement. From betrayal by a best friend and from a fiancée, a false relationship, and a path to new love...I was hooked. The main character, Sutton is a strong woman. She's more than just daddy's little rich girl and more than a beauty. Wyatt is now, a mechanic. The best around his side of town. He can't deny his attraction to Stutton. Something about her always had his interest. Stutton's life was going well, until she and Wyatt find her ex cheating on her. From there, revenge, sweet lies, and a whole lot of action happen. I was intrigued with every page. I couldn't stop reading it. Leave the Night On fits this story well. The plot was fast-paced. Entertaining, engaging, and hilariously sweet. I loved it. Laura Trentham has done it again. Creating another magical world where I got lost within the pages. Overall, I recommend this contemporary romance to all.

Can you find the one? Wyatt is happy working at the family garage but he is missing out of life as he is always worried about his brothers as he can feel that something is coming but what? It has been hard after their father's death as the garage is just surviving and if he doesn't have his family he has nothing. Sutton is getting married soon but she doesn't really love Andrew and she knows that she doesn't have a choice but to marry the man but after what she has just found out maybe this is her chance to break free. Wyatt wants to be their for Sutton but they are two different people, her family is wealthy and he is from the wrong side of town and he would never fit in. Sutton comes up with a plan and Wyatt goes along with it but he just gets deeper and he is going to have to take a step back for both of their hearts before they both land up hurt. Can Sutton really want to be with him or is it just a game to her? Sutton wants him something fierce but is he the one that she was meant to be with? It is time that she takes a chance at love and tells Wyatt how she feels but what he doesn't feel the same? Can they ever be more than pretend? A great story of love, fun and betrayal.

I loved the characters and setting for Leave the Night On. Sutton Mize and Wyatt Abbott are true to their southern roots. Instead of the right or wrong side of the tracks we have the right and wrong side of the Mississippi River. Sutton lives on the right side, Wyatt on the wrong but they still manage to connect. Sutton finds out a cheating fiancée is a blessing while Wyatt gets the girl of his dreams. Along the way Wyatt encourages Sutton to follow her dream and Sutton helps Wyatt deal with some very difficult family matters. There are three other Abbott brothers who need a HEA so Cottonwood should feel the heat as more Abbott's find romance but not without problems.

Ah, I love couples who pretend to date but then actually start dating. Don’t know why but it’s one of my favorite tropes in romances and that’s exactly what happens with Wyatt and Sutton. Being a gentleman, Wyatt agrees to help Sutton get back at her ex-fiancée after he cheats on her with his best friend (conveniently leaving out that he’s been crushing on her since they were kids). And perhaps things will work out for the both of them.

I thought this was a really cute contemporary romance. Sutton stays strong as her life turns to turmoil around her and the expectations put on her shoulders by her parents finally becomes too much. She’s always done what she can to make everyone around her happy but throughout the book realizes that she needs to make herself happy too. I liked that she was able to be both strong and vulnerable. And Wyatt turned out to be the perfect person to help her with that. He has his own family expectations on him and is at constant war with what he should do versus what he wants to do. I liked the parallels with their characters and how, though they’re different personality-wise, they are able to support each other and bring out the parts of the other that they hadn’t seen before.

I wasn’t sure how I felt about Wyatt being almost a rebound (even though they’re faking it at first there’s still definite chemistry between them) but it becomes clearer that Sutton wasn’t really in love with her ex. It was going to be more of a political marriage than what she really wanted.

Speaking of the fake-dating, I am SO glad that they didn’t keep it up the entire book. I’m not sure if I could have handled the constant waiting for something “real” to happen. The story evolves with their characters instead, moving to a real relationship between them and the new challenges that come with it.

I’m not big on contemporary romances but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It’s a light, easy read telling the story of a relationship that was a long time coming but also brand new.

Leave the Night on by Laura Trentham is the 4th book in her Cottonbloom series. Leave the Night On reads very well as a standalone, with brief appearances from the earlier leading characters. I wasn’t sure what to expect, as we knew little about the Abbots. Wyatt Abbott owns ¼ of the family garage and restoration business, and he loves restoring old cars. Sutton Mize brings in her fiancée’s classic Camaro to have a full restoration done as a wedding present. The Abbott Brothers are excited to start their new restoration project, which will open them up for more business, with wealthier clientele.

Wyatt welcomes Sutton, remembering her from high school, when he had a secret crush on her. But they have not seen each other in years, as she is from the wealthier Mississippi side of Cottonbloom, and Wyatt and his brothers are the from the blue collar Louisiana side. When Wyatt takes the car, he makes sure that everything is empty and to Sutton’s shock, he finds expensive dinner receipts and a lace thong under the seat. Sutton recognizes the thong, as it came from her boutique, where she sold it to her best friend. Wyatt sees Sutton’s shock and realizes that her fiancée has been cheating on her.

What follows is a wonderful fun story line, where Sutton will ask Wyatt to help her get revenge on her ex- fiancée by being her new boyfriend. He of course accepts, as he feels bad how she was treated, and wants to help and protect her. He knows there could be no future for them, since they are from different backgrounds. Slowly, as they both begin to spend a lot of time together, going to her gala’s and family dinners. Wyatt was the perfect person for Sutton to get over her ex, as he opened her up to another life of having fun and enjoying things; and also making her that much more stronger and independent. I loved Wyatt and Sutton together. They made a great couple, with great chemistry.

While they try to fool Sutton’s Ex and her best friend, there are other things happening that blends into the story. We meet all the Abbotts, including the aunts and the other 3 brothers. The only brother I did not like was Ford, who only cared about himself and had no interest in working on the cars. Ford gave Wyatt such a hard time, which made him even more unlikeable. I am sure at some point in this series; we will get his story and eventually his redemption. All the other characters we got to meet were great and I look forward to finding more about them.

Laura Trentham once again gives us a wonderful story, great characters, fabulous couple, heartwarming small town atmosphere, and a sweet wonderful romance. You should be reading this series, and I can’t wait to return to Cottonbloom.

I just loved this story. This is the first book by this talented author that I read, and I have definitely become a fan. Know that though it’s part of a series, it is truly a stand alone.
The main characters are Sutton , owner of a women’s clothing store , daughter of a highly respected judge, and engaged to marry a man more concerned about appearances and moving up the ladder in society than her. Wyatt, is part owner with his brothers of a garage that is trying to create a car restoration nitch. He has had a crush on Sutton since he was a kid, but he was from the wrong side of the river, and she was sure he didn’t like her.
When infidelity by Sutton’s fiance becomes obvious and betrayal of a friend crushes her, it’s Wyatt that ends up coming to the rescue.
It’s a story about the fact that love can be found where you least expect it. That integrity, loyalty, family, and love are what really matters. A reminder that one must be true to oneself and be willing to take chances because the rewards are endless.
A quote I loved in the book says it all. “Live had a funny way of turning expectations on their heels”. Yes , life is messy but it’s also wonderful.

Sutton Mize was wanting to do something special for her fiancee before their upcoming wedding so after tossing around ideas she decides to take his Camaro in to be restored. After arriving at the shop ran by Wyatt Abbott Sutton has the unthinkable happen to an upcoming bride, a pair of underwear are found under the seat of the car. Sutton knows right away being that they are a specialty order from her own boutique who they belong to, her own best friend.

Wyatt agrees to give Sutton a ride home so that she can have some time to think about what to do with what she has found out. While confronting her fiancee Sutton finds herself hurt but not heartbroken to find out that he has been using her friend as much as he seems to be using her too. Ending the engagement Sutton also tries to save a bit of dignity by telling him she had her own affair with Wyatt. Now to only get Wyatt to agree to pretending to be in a relationship for awhile.

Leave the Night On is the fourth book in the Cottonbloom series by Laura Trentham. I didn’t realize this was even a series when I picked it up to read but thankfully as with most romance/contemporary series the book reads find as a standalone novel as each in the series feature a new couple.

While I’m not a huge fan of jumping into a new relationship right after ending a serious one this book did a good job at making that not seem quite as bad to me. Sutton obviously was in her previous relationship more because it was what was expected of her than actually being in love. With starting something up with Wyatt it’s also done as the pretense of fake which I actually kind of like stories like this as it gives the characters time to develop feelings while being together.

Overall, in the end with the story and characters and all that was involved I decided to give this one 3.5 stars and would look into reading more by this author in the future.

Not only was this my first visit to Cottonbloom and I can’t wait to visit again, but Laura Trentham has made my favorite author list.

Boy from the wrong side of the river just trying to make a living and help his brothers garage succeed and make a name for its self. When I'm walks the girl who he spent his whole childhood trying to get her to notice him. She finds out a huge secret that he fiancé has been keeping and she hatches a plan, but now she has to convince the boy who was never nice to her to help her out. Can the both help each other of will it all come to a head and blow up in their faces?
This book really was light hearted and fun. I loved how vulnerable the author made Sutton and much spit fire she has in her when faced with something she needs to fight for. I really have fun reading this story how both characters while loved their families, they both seems to have issues with them for each of their own ways. I really loved Wyatt's aunts they are super fun and enjoyable to read. The chemistry between Sutton and Wynn was explosive even though they tend to fight there feelings. I also enjoyed the togetherness of the two towns and no matter what when everyone was in everyones business they still came together to help in times of needs. The book does contain some adult language and scenes, so it may not be suitable for all readers. This book was super fun and well worth the read.

The technical stuff: This book is part of a larger series but it is its own book and completely stands alone, you do not have to read the others to read and enjoy this one. Although neither thing overwhelms the story, there is both on-screen sex and cursing in this one – including a handful of f-bombs. If those two things will cause you to leave a bad review you should skip this one but just know that you'll be missing out on a really, really good book.

Laura Trentham is a new author to me so I didn't know what to expect from this book, but I thought it was really, really well written and it made me want to go back to read the other books in this series. The characters and story were fleshed out well, and although the fake relationship storyline starts really early in the book, nothing was rushed or felt forced – everything develops sweetly and organically. Although this is a meaty book by romance novel standards, the story was so interesting that it flew by. When I wasn't reading, I was thinking about the story and wondering whether Sutton and Wyatt were going to get their 'stuff' together and what was going on with Wyatt's brothers. To me that is the sign of a really great book.

Wyatt was everything that I want in a romance novel hero. He was respectful, kind, and supportive of Sutton from start to finish. Wyatt didn't have to act like a swaggering jerk to be sexy, he was just a really great guy who was sexy as sin when he was letting Sutton drive his car or dancing by the river or being kind to the waitress. I loved that. And Sutton, while being the well-to-do girl from “the other side of the river” was not at all the spoiled princess that I expected her to be. She was sweet and kind and the kind of girl that I would absolutely be friends with. I loved how she never looked down on Wyatt or his brothers, she accepted them as they were. Slight spoiler to end of paragraph: The way that Sutton was able to deal with Bree's betrayal made me love her that much more. I am not sure I would have been able to grant that kind of forgiveness if I were Sutton. And that epilogue? Absolute perfection.

If you enjoy a fake relationship story, a kind-of-sort-of second chance romance story, or just enjoy a book that will suck you in from start to finish, you should give this one a try. I look forward to going back to read the previous books set in Cottonbloom and to reading all of the books about the other Abbott brothers.

3.5 Stars. Although I've never read the previous 3 books of Laura Trentham's Cottonbloom series, this was easily read as a stand-alone. Set in Cottonbloom, a small town bisected by a river that makes it both in Louisiana and Mississippi, this charming contemporary romance featured likable characters with Southern charm and manners. Sutton, a typical well to do debutante is from the more affluent Mississippi side of Cottonbloom, while Wyatt, part owner in his family's auto restoration shop, is the hunky good looking guy from the other side of the river. Circumstances that are a bit predictable cause these two to become re-acquainted (they knew each other as kids). Nonetheless, this was a very enjoyable look at how one must not be judged by their social standing, but rather by their character. I'll be putting the previous books of this series on my TBR since I really felt comfortable reading about this small Southern town and its residents. I will also say that a few tears were shed, which is an indication of a well liked story.

Hometown romance with sweet cars and heart.

Sutton takes her fiancé’s car to Wyatt’s family’s garage for restoration. When Wyatt is helping her clean it out for drop off, Sutton discovers evidence that her fiancé is having an affair with another woman and her best friend.

Wyatt has always had a thing for Sutton so when Sutton, trying to save face, tells everyone she’s with Wyatt, Wyatt agrees to help her back up her story by playing her boyfriend.

I found Leave the Night On interesting and cute but had a very predicable plot. Well mostly predicable, I truly cannot fathom Sutton’s ability for forgiveness. I think that is flip flop is what was the final straw in my going from really liking to a 3.5 for me. Okay, I can even go with forgiveness but not engaging in friendship again, it just didn’t work for me.

Easy, enjoyable and entertaining, Leave the Night On is a feel good, sweet read with little to no humor or subterfuge.
