First off, I absolutely loved how this book was an immediate continuation of the previous book. Now, for the plot… let me just say… this book was fantabulous!!! Shane and Emily deserve each other, but they just can’t seem to find their groove. I loved that this book is a romance, but was suspenseful. What a pleasure! I really enjoyed following along to see if my thoughts and predictions were accurate.

Lisa Renee Jones is back at it again with her third installment to the Dirty Money Series, with Bad Deeds. While this book can’t be read as a standalone, Jones did a terrific job in refreshing our memory with pieces of vital information and flashbacks that occurred in the last book so readers like myself won’t feel lost. With her sexy and suspenseful prose, Jones did a fabulous job in creating a story that heighten our senses as we are thrust back into the lives of Shane and Emily. This book is more action packed and sexy since you can’t help but love Shane even more. Readers will get a taste and see a whole new side to him that I loved. I know that I am being super vague about this book, but keep in mind the danger, the suspense, the unexpected twist and turns, and the chemistry is what made this third installment to stand out. So if you are ready to submerse yourself in a book where the writing and characters were phenomenal then this book is for you.

What a book!! The twists and turns and suspense are all consuming. I could not put this book down. Every character is so wonderfully developed, even the bad ones. I love them all. And what an ending! I was gutted. I am going to have a problem waiting for End Game. Ugh!! A perfectly written suspense romance.

Bad Deeds picks up where Damage Control left off. The character development was strong in this book, we see gradual changes in some key characters as the story unfolds and the multiple point of views provide some insight into their personality. This installment is full of intense drama, intrigue, secrets, white lies and suspicions.

Shane’s feelings about his dysfunctional family are conflictual. The Brandon family has become a group of enemies observing one another. Everything his father does seems to have an endgame and he enjoys his mind games, not bothering about the consequences for his sons. His mother’s agenda is still unclear, even though she seems up to some kind of trouble. The strong rivalry between Shane and his older brother Derek is still ongoing. This character is slowly becoming a central element of the story. He is insecure and his jealous resentment against for his golden-boy brother runs deep. In this installment, we get a better understanding of his motivation and he is portrayed in a more positive light.

There is danger everywhere for Emily and Shane is desperate to protect her as best he can. He walked away from his successful career of attorney to save his family’s name. He has a vision for his family company and illegal activities are not part of it, even though he is manipulated into doing business with a drug cartel via a partnership. But Shane is shrewd and fully able to level the playing field.

Shane and Emily are perfect for each other, not only do sparks fly between them, but they are able to open up to one another and to realize that they can trust each other. The dynamics between them played out nicely in this book.

The writing style of Ms. Jones was utterly addictive and fast paced. This time around, I found that there were a few useless repetitions, though. Much like its predecessors, this third installment in the series ends with a cliffhanger. I’m still hooked!

5 The Suspense is Killing Me CROWNS

The third installment of the Dirty Money series has been the best one yet! I was riveted to the page, watching all the chess pieces move in this very dangerous and deceitful game with very real consequences.

Shane Brandon continues to be the hero we love, and Emily is the level-headed and caring heroine. Throughout the novel, readers get to see these two become stronger together, and it seems the more difficult the world becomes the closer they unite.

The surprising character for me during this book is Derek. He has been this two dimensional antagonist throughout the entire novel. In Bad Deeds, though, readers get to see incredible depth to his character, and his evolution had me loving him.

The plot of Bad Deeds is what makes this book so good. It is heavy on the suspense, and, while it has its steamy moments, the romance is minimal. This doesn't mean there isn't romance. There is, just not in the typical fashion. The ending is what really have readers screaming and making them crave the final book in the series.

I'm loving this series from Lisa Renee Jones. It is a well crafted web of intricate and varied plot lines, and the characters and their stories have consumed me.

"Is blood thicker than water?"

"Can love conquer all?"

"Does it really payoff to keep your enemies closer?"

These are just a FEW of the many questions that will be flitting through your mind as you are read this highly addictive series.

What I love most about Dirty Money is how the plot continues to evolve . Particularly how relationships are being rebuilt and all new unexpected ones are forming. There are a few moments where you question the validity of said relationships but this is another beauty of the story. And despite the stress and uncertainty, Shane and Emily relationship develops as well.

Both of the main characters have their own issues but what is so remarkable about them is they always take it upon themselves to remain open and honest. I especially appreciate Emily. There were numerous times where Shane could have fallen but Emily is constantly there beside him pulling him from the brink. This alone proves just how infallible their love is.

And although Bad Deeds does end in another maddening cliffhanger I still would recommend reading it. The doubts, the suspense, the intrigues and the drama which are comparable to a soap opera is what keeps me coming back for more.

I enjoyed this book. The finale - End Game, is definitely one of my most sought after books of early 2018.

Dang! This is going to leave me with one heck of a book hangover. Is it January yet?? I don't know if I'll make it till then!! With everything going on in Bad Deeds and the more hope came to the surface...I knew it was nowhere near over and Lisa Renee Jones did an outstanding job of teasing me with each turn of the page.

Shane Brandon continues to to do everything in his power to save his family's company from threats both inside and outside its walls all determined to keep Emily as far away from it as possible. But from the start of the series it's been very clear that Emily does not need to be treated like and damsel in distress. In fact, she won't stand for it and as Shane begins to keep her in the look of what's at stake and who to watch out for, she proves she can hold her own and even steps in to help when she can. She starts to become an integral player in this dangerous game and proving she's no delicate flower.

I don't know how I can hold out for End Game, but I know most definitely will. It's going to be a couple days before I can get passed this whopper of a hangover!!

Where to start... Oh where to start...

First off, this is a cliffhanger and not a minor cliffhanger. If that isn't your thing than wait for the next book to come out. But definitely read this series.

The characters in this series have slowly grown to become so much better. The first in the series made me like them, the third made me respect them, and the third made me want to propose. The characters have all shown great growth and I really like the fact that there are so many three dimensional characters. I love that everything is so complex in this story.

I typically hate mysteries but this romance/suspense kept me engaged and questioning the whole time which is not normal. The story is extremely complex and it keeps you guessing the entire time.

I want to rate this book 1 star for the ending that is making me want to scream out into the abyss (I am kidding). I had such a strong reaction, that it makes me love this book. It just shows how invested in this series I am.

Ultimately, this is a great series that anyone who enjoys romantic suspense will love. Seriously, just pick up the books. You can thank me later.

Each story in this series pulls you in deeper and deeper. When you are done, you wish you had not started them until all stories are available. I honestly couldn’t put this down for a second! The descriptions of the books sometimes make it seem like they are all about hot sex but that simply isn’t so! The emotions and feelings are intense. In the past, I haven’t liked the stories told from two different viewpoints but this series simply couldn’t be done without that. You have to know what Shane and Emily are both thinking to even begin to follow this complicated story of intrigue, lies, and love! And just when you think something is going to happen, it changes directions and sends you on a different path. Plan to read and reread this one so that you get it all!

I received an ARC from the publisher for an honest and unbiased review. No compensation was received for this review

4.5 Stars!!!

Lisa Renee Jones certainly knows how to make a reader hang on her every word. I had a rocky start with this book. At the beginning of chapter 6, I was mentally rating this book a 3 and feeling kinda disappointed. I don’t consider a 3 bad, just average, and Lisa Renee Jones is NOT an average writer.

Shane’s internal monologues were what was really killing my enjoyment and brought me out of the story because they felt flowery and false. After awhile I wasn’t noticing them anymore, so I don’t know if they stopped or if I just got so into the story that they didn’t bother me. Whatever it was, the rest of the book passed by in a blur. So much changes in this book, but the strength of Emily & Shane’s relationship remains a constant. I am completely loving the addition of Cody and the changes in Derek. I want books for each of them now. The twists in this book are extreme and kept me on my toes the whole time. I was seriously in love with this book by the end. And that cliffhanger?! WOW!!!

This is definitely not a standalone and you have to read each of the preceding books to “get” this story but if you like drama mixed with twists, turns, and deception then you need to try this series out.

Bad Deeds is a great continuation to the Dirty Money Series, and once again I was hooked from the very first chapter. I have found this review a little hard to write as I don't want to give to much away so I'll keep it short.

Shane and Emily are back and Shane is showing more of his darker side in this one.
He's still determined to protect Emily but at what cost and how do you fight for your family when fighting against your family?

This is a fast paced story and it has lots going on, some expected and some very unexpected then just when you think you're back on an even keel Lisa Renee Jones goes and leaves you completely hanging with an ending to leave you in a total spin.

I need book 4 Now!!!

I would highly recommend this series to anyone that loves some suspense with their romance you definitely won't be disappointed but these books must be read in order:
Hard Rule #1
Damage Control #2
Bad Deeds #3

The walls are closing in on Emily and Shane, picking up where Damage Control ended, Mr. Brandon Senior's cancer is progressing at a rapid pace, leaving the company in a vulnerable position. Add in the machinations of the Mexican drug cartel, brother pitted against brother and the double life and duplicitous actions of Mrs. Brandon and the tension is at an all time high.

Bad Deeds provides an unexpected third point of view within the narrative providing unexpected insight into current actions and previous events.

Derek has become an unwitting pawn in a very dangerous game, maneuvered into position by both his father and the Mexican cartel he has become entrenched with. Although there is far more to Derek than I would have credited him with. Despite his original motives for entering a relationship with Teresa, it has altered him on a fundamental level. The similarities between Derek and Shane are highlighted within the narrative showing that the ties that bind them have also shaped them. The comparison between Shane and Derek also serves to highlight the fact that nothing is truly what it seems, there are no black and white areas only shades of gray.

With the depth of the problems Shane and Emily face, creates a large amount of self-doubt for Shane especially where his integrity and drive are concerned. This has the repercussion of pushing the boundaries with the intimacy he shares with Emily. His dark desires create the need to test her loyalty/devotion and permanence.

Shane's intelligence, loyalty, and integrity shine through the narrative even when he questions himself, although his competitive nature also makes itself very much a part of the proceedings. I admired the way in which Shane tackled the challenges he faces, his solution was sheer brilliance on his part.

There are so many pieces at play within Bad Deeds that just when you think you can predict the way in which the plot is going to go, the rug is swept from under you. Be warned there is a major cliffhanger involved in Bad Deeds that will put your heart in your mouth.

There are a lot of unresolved issues at the end of Bad Deeds, especially where Emily's past and her ties to her brother are concerned. I have a feeling all he issues will be dealt with in the fourth and final installment, End Game, but probably not in any way I could predict. Lisa has an uncanny way of tying all the elements of her plots in surprising ways.

Errr! I'm so... frustrated right now! I have loved this series and now after reading Bad Deeds, I am beside myself. I LOVE a good story line. Especially one like this that has many different layers to it with well developed characters. What I don't like, is when an author takes such a great story and drags it out so much so that I start to lose interest. (Sadly, it's how I felt about the Bared To You Series). You see, this is where I am struggling with this review. I appreciate this author, but I must be honest. Remember though, this is MY opinion. That being said, I enjoyed Bad Deeds. I did, but I felt that it was more fluff than story this time (I found myself skimming to dialogue). The writing is flawless, and I do love Shane Brandon, but that ending... it left me unsettled. I needed closure. I looked forward to having everything wrapped up with a pretty little epilogue. I am ready to say goodbye to the Brandon's, but yet a new thread has been woven where I fear it is going to lead us in an entirely new direction. There are still so many questions unanswered when it comes to Emily that have not even been touched upon. Gah! I'm so nervous. I'm hesitant to keep reading this series, which truly saddens me, as I loved the first two books. How will it end?! Despite my trepidation, my faith is in Lisa Renee Jones. I think she may just make me eat my words and amend this review. Truthfully, I hope so!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. Wow! This series just keeps on getting better and better. We now have learned why Emily has been running by the end of of book two and that Shane will do what it takes to protect her. We begin to learn more of what the cartel's involvement consists of and what Shane is willing to do to remove them from the family business. Shane is battling not only a war to save the company, he is battling with family members and himself as well. He wants to do the right thing and being a layer he is always for doing it right, yet he sees he must confront his darker side in order to deal with everything. Emily sees that he is struggling with this. The two have become much closer and are learning to support one another. Shane is also having to deal with his unresolved feelings with not only his father but it seems his mother as well. When he discovers what his mother has been up to he has a hard time coping with it. In this book we also get a view of how Derek feels about all of this and what has motivated him so far. Even though Brandon Senior is now becoming sicker he still plays a large part in what happens with the family and business. After a family dinner in which he reveals he is leaving for two weeks for treatment and leaving Shane in charge things seems to come to a head. Both Shane and Derek still seems to be at war but they also appear united in their heartache of possibly losing their father. The two finally have a long awaited showdown and come to an understanding that in order to remove the Martina cartel from taking over the family business they must work together. Things seems to be working far a little while which even includes Adrian Martina the head of the cartel and Shane coming to an understanding that works for all involved. Of course this being a wonderful and complex story by Ms Jones she leaves us with a whopper of a cliffhanger in this third book. I had my suspicions of something big possibly happening since this is a four part story and this is book three, BUT WOW!, didn't see that coming! I just wish the wait wasn't as long as it is going to be. I know the last book will be epic!

Bad Deeds is an intense and emotional book in the Dirty Money series. Hard Rules and Damage Control only skimmed the surface of the emotion and suspense levels packed into Bad Deeds. The book is engaging, action packed, and full of twists and turns. I couldn't put the book down.

Shane's character is strong, ruthless when necessary, and still he manages to exude tenderness and affection. The love he and Emily share is passionate, powerful, written with realism. The strength behind Emily is admirable; she truly is a strong character. Emily and Shane compliment each other. Emily illuminates the darkness Shane continues to maneuver through.

Both Shane and Emily are harboring secrets that threaten to tear apart the Brandon family business and may prove to include casualties. When you get into bed with a high end drug cartel it is nearly impossible, as Shane and his brother Derek are finding out, to extricate yourself. With two strong alpha males involved, things may end up sideways.

The threads that Lisa Renee Jones wove within the pages are complex. There are multiple storylines that intersect, some softly and other like a freight train. Suspense, intrigue, and romance are blended into the action-packed third novel in Lisa Renee Jones' exciting Dirty Money series. The cliffhanger ending has me chomping at the bit for book 4.

I am excited to get my hands on the final installment of the series, End Game.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of Bad Deeds via NetGalley.

Bad Deeds is the third installment in the Dirty Money series by Lisa Renee Jones, a big favorite of mine. Though cliffhangers, as most of you all know, are a rather dirty word as far as I’m concerned. I really do hate them for the most part, especially when I have to wait for what it seems like forever to find out what happens next. Bad deeds does, unfortunately, end in a whopper of a cliffie. Book four, End Game, will be out in January. (Can I scream now?)

If you haven’t read Hard Rules or Damage Control, the first two books of the series, you should just stop and go back and read those first. If you simply can’t, (say a mafia boss is holding a gun to your head) then Ms. Jones does a great job of giving you a catch-up at the beginning of the book along with a cast of players with their bios and what part they play. That said, this book picks up right where Damage Control left off. Shane is still working to get the family business from dealing with Adrian Martina and the Cartel. Emily...still has her secrets.

There’s so much going on in this book, and in typical LRJ style, she drops enough bombs it leaves you wanting more! I’m certainly not going to divulge anything here, it’s best to read for yourself. Now, I wait impatiently for End Game.

'Bad Deeds' by Lisa Renee Jones is book Three in the "Dirty Money" series. This continues the story of Shane and Emily –you do not need to read the previous books in the series but I would recommend it. The story picks up exactly where book 2 ended and you jump right back into the family situation. There is many intense and serious moments in this book, especially involving the cartel and the family. Yet the family comes together stronger than ever and Shane and Emily are tighter than ever.
Also in this book, we see some sparks flying between Jessica (Shane's assistant) and Cody (Emily bodyguard) while also getting more 411 on Derek and Teresa's relationship. That’s not to say we do not get Shane and Emily—because we so do. Its steamy and intense and sexy!! Just when things were looking fab, we are left with an epic cliffhanger….TELL ME THIS ISNT IT!!??!! I need End Game like Right now!!!

My Rating: 4.8 stars *****

Outstanding job. Great book. Left me wanting more. That cliffhanger though. Seriously mean. I guess I must hold on for dear life until the next one comes out.

Bad Deeds by Lisa Renee Jones is book three in her Dirty Money series and it continues the story of Shane Brandon and Emily Stevens.

Starting where Damage Control (book two) left off, Shane Brandon is still trying to save his family's company and remove it from being under the control of the Martina cartel.

Like a game a chess the players continue to try to stay moves ahead of each other and Shane doesn't know who he can trust, especially when Adrian Martina increases the pressure of wanting a partnership with Brandon Enterprises. At the same time, Shane continues to try to get rid Brandon Pharmaceuticals.

Filled with action and suspense, as well as unexpected twists and turns especially in the end with a really nerve-wrecking cliffhanger that'll leave you wanting book four as soon as possible.

I enjoyed Lisa Renee Jones writing and how she keeps the story moving and the reader invested in her story. It's all about the characters. Story-arc wise, in my opinion while I read, there weren't very big power-plays or game-changers until the last half. What developed and changed more for me this installment while reading were the people. Shane and Emily were the constants, and I loved their relationship and how strong it has grown.  But what I really liked was that we got to know more about the other characters within the series such as Seth, Jessica, Cody, and even more of Shane's family like Derek and Maggie. Ms. Jones has definitely added more on the line in the novel, by increasing the emotion and making us as readers feel more for the characters we saw previously only as villains, like Derek. It was interesting to see more to his character in this novel and his relationship with Teresa. I can't wait to see what Ms. Jones has planned for the next novel.

Overall, Bad Deeds by Lisa Renee Jones is a great continuation to an exciting romantic suspense series. I look forward to reading the next book and more from Ms. Jones.
