A fantastic summer read with a real feel good feeling throughout. It brings together the past and present with good strong character descriptions that makes you able to visualise them. This is is my 1st read by Jenny Hale and I will definitely be reading more as I loved her writing style and how the book unfolded in a different direction to what you initially anticipate. Thoroughly enjoyed it :)

This is a sweet summer beach read sure to make you long for a visit in the Outer Banks, North Carolina. Callie Weaver has just made a lifelong dream come true when she and childhood best friend Olivia purchase the old home they've admired and start to renovate as an inn. Life becomes complicated when she meets local real estate heir and playboy Luke Sullivan. Despite Callie's hesitation Luke shows her judgement of him may not be accurate. Filled with friendship, family, romance, twists and intrigue, and a coastal location to die for, Jenny Hale's latest has all the ingredients of a perfect summer escape.
I received an advanced reader copy (eGalley) from Bookouture through NetGalley. This review reflects my honest and unbiased opinions.

What can I say about this book? I loved it so much. 5 stars just doesn;t seem enough. I can honestly say it had me hooked from the 1st few lines. I could barely put the book down. It was so interesting. A great mix of characters all with there own tale to tell. The storyline was fab. And had a fantastic twist towards the end which just made an amazing book even better. I can honestly say this is the best book i have read in a long time. I was so upset when it ended. I really hop there will be a follow up, and we can find out what Luke and Callie did next.

How many of us have dreamed of owning a home by the sea? Probably more than not, that’s part of this books irresistible appeal. Callie and her BFF Olivia have sunk every dime they have into the old beach house on North Carolina’s Outer Banks that they have dreamed of owning since childhood. The place needs some work, of course, but with a little elbow grease and sweat equity, the two women hope to turn the property into a cute B and B. Callie begins a summer romance with local hottie/playboy that has the reputation as a love ’em and leave ’em sort, but as the summer progresses, Callie begins to think there may be more to Luke than meets the eye. In the process of restoring the property, Olivia and Callie find an old journal, filled with secrets about the people and the island, secrets a lot of folks would rather never see the light of day. This is the perfect summer read, filled with sandy beaches, romance and mystery
