What a read!!! I have NEVER been disappointed in a Sawyer Bennett book, and I am certainly not starting now, with Jilted.
Eden went to the big city, Los Angeles to make it big. She had it all, or so she thought until she caught her fiancé cheating on her. She returns home to her small town, to lick her wounds, and finds out that sometimes home is sometimes more viscous than Hollywood. That is until she runs into a past love, Coop. They start spending time together and the old emotions start to resurface, and one thing leads to another and….. Stop no spoilers from me.
I loved watching Coop and Eden fall back in love. I absolutely love small town romance, throw in second chance love, I was hooked from the first word.
I was graciously gifted with an ARC of this fabulous book for my honest opinion, and review by the author and publisher.
Do you like a fantastic romantic read? Well then, this book is definitely for you.
Thank you for reading my review, and happy reading.

Publicly humiliated, Hollywood Mega Star, Eden Goodnight decides to return to her hometown of Newberry, Georgia for some much needed down time. It’s been years since she’s been home but the chilly reception from the town is a complete shock to Eden, especially from Cooper Mayfield. She and Cooper didn’t part on the best of terms but it was mutual so why does he and everyone else in town seem to not just dislike her but hate her? Despite his less than warm reception of her, Eden quickly realizes that old feelings she thought were gone, were simply lying dormant and are suddenly awaken and running rampant.
Cooper Mayfield is not known for his relationships. In fact he doesn’t have relationships, he has flings and they have an expiration date. As he latest fling is coming up on its expiration date, Eden Goodnight comes stumbling back into his life. Cooper is a simple small town type of guy. The glitz and glam of Hollywood never appealed to him, but he knew his high school and college sweetheart was destined for the bright lights and fame so w hile it broke his heart to let her go, he knew it was the right choice. Never did he expect Eden to show up in Newberry and for his feelings to come rushing back to the surface. After confronting her about her past behavior and realizing there was bit of miscommunication he and Eden decide to give into that undeniable sexual chemistry.
Rebound Sex, that’s what the two will have. They are both aware that their time is limited and decide to make the best of the time they have. As expected, they both realize the feelings they had at eighteen have only intensified and soon it becomes so much more than sex.
Every once in a while I’ll read a book and as I’m reading, I can see the movie/screen version playing out in my head; Jilted was one of those books (I totally pictured Reese Witherspoon and Josh Lucas – Somewhat Sweet Home Alambama-ish). This would be the perfect Rom-Com but for now, it’s the perfect read. I connected with the characters immediately. It’s rare that I actually like both the male and female characters but I did. I loved them both. Although Eden was this Hollywood Starlit, she was a hometown girl at heart. She didn’t come off as snotty and spoiled. She seemed to fall right back into small town life. Cooper was great. I have to admit, I didn’t expect him to be as vocal as he was (especially sexually) but it so worked with him. It was weird because he was definitely a bit of a male-whore but I liked him! The banter was wonderful and the humor was non-stop in this book.
In the end, we have two people who want to be loved so badly by each other that they are scared shitless to admit it. I love Sawyer Bennett…..sigh

This is second chance romance that’s both sweet and spicy. Coop and Eden dated back in high school and her opportunity to become a model and travel the world broke them apart. Years later, after her fiance cheats on her, Eden finds herself back in her hometown to get away from things…and there she meets up with Coop again. Even though both of them still hurt from their break up, they’ve both moved on. But, the funny thing about love is that it hits you when you least expect it and, although these two have no intentions of exploring a relationship again, sometimes fate doesn’t ask permission.

I liked Eden. She was a strong woman who, although she’s a famous actress surrounded by people, was ultimately a lonely person. She poured all her energy into her work and that didn’t leave time to really examine her life and relationships. Coop was a playboy who had no intentions of getting involved in a relationship. His heart had been broken once and he wasn’t willing to have it happen again. He’s a southern gentleman who opens doors and knows how to treat a woman. When these two are thrown together, things heat up and, under the pretense of Coop being Eden’s rebound guy, they rediscover each other once more. I must admit that, even though the sexy times were very hot, I had a hard time with the fact that during the middle part of the book, that seemed to be the only thing keeping them together. I missed the romance and the chemistry that happens through slow kisses and staring into each other’s eyes. I would have loved a bit of reminiscing on both their parts and I would have liked to see more intimate, non-sexual, moments and more heart-felt discussions. I guess I really just wanted him to woo her but that didn’t happen.

Don’t get me wrong, this is a good read and the writing, as always, is great. It’s the second book in this series and, as usual, I didn’t read the first but this can definitely be read as a stand alone. Overall, it’s a quick, fun read that you’ll likely enjoy if you’re looking for something with a bit of drama but not heavy on angst.

Eden Goodnight wants a place to hide where no one will think to look. An unplanned trip to Newberry, Georgia, to the home where she grew up is just the place to lick her wounds. She's tired and cranky and totally unprepared to learn her high school boyfriend had moved into her house.

That's what happens when your eccentric and cold grandmother changes her will leaving Coop the right to live in the Goodnight house until he dies.

Coop is just as surprised to see Eden in his house. He's lived there for more than six months with no contact from her or her people. What hasn't changed is Eden. She's just as beautiful as ever.

As Eden and Coop learn to share the Goodnight mansion, they both realize that the passion they shared fourteen years ago is just as strong as ever. Entering into a rebound romance is not what Eden thought she wanted and when she realizes that she just wants Coop, she knows that it’s going to take a lot of work to make a relationship between them work.

This book evokes powerful emotions and makes you realize that if you really want something, there is always a way to get it.

Eden Goodnight left Newberry, Georgia, and became a successful model and Oscar winning actress. She returns home 14 years later to discover that Cooper, her first love, is living in the house she inherited from her grandmother.

Cooper is a good guy with a successful business but since breaking up with Eden all those years ago, he has not had a serious relationship, moving from one woman to the next, never promising them anything. When Eden shows up, things don't go so well initially.

I'm not generally a huge fan of books where a famous actor is our main character but early on we learn that Eden's adult life has been a lonely one and it broke my heart. From that point, I was completely on board with her finding her happily ever after.

Jilted is a wonderful, fun, sexy, second chance romance and I had a great time reading it.

This is the second in a series of standalones, and is a good solid and enjoyable read.

There is a great balance of humour (of which there is plenty) and hotness (of which there is a truly goodly amount) and romance (of which Coop had to learn to do better!). Eden is initially portrayed perfectly as the poor little rich girl. But once Coop catches on to the issues, and develops a better understanding of her life through her revelations, it is a slippery slope to them inadvertently falling back in love with each other – even if they don't see that quite as quickly as we do!

The level of angst is kept in perfect check, and we really don't get any unnecessary drama – however much Ashley tries to create it. The whole town provide us with background characters who add to the fun, and add the detail when it is needed.

Lovely summer read, thank you, Ms. Bennett.

Although Jilted is the second title in the Love Hurts series, it can easily be read as a standalone. There is no cross over of characters between Sex In The Sticks the previous title in the Love Hurts series, and Jilted.

Every time I see a new title written by Sawyer Bennett, I just have to read it, as her book are always well written, engaging and entertaining, and Jilted was no exception.

Jilted is a fun, sexy, heat filled second chance contemporary romance. I thoroughly enjoyed Eden and Cooper, they were both incredibly endearing and their chemistry was undeniable. The banter and interactions they share are quite sweet, and at times quite humorous. There is an element of angst throughout this title, but it's not over the top.

Overall Jilted is a great blend of small town romance, and the glitz and glamour of Hollywood and I will be eagerly anticipating the next release from this wonderful author.

Yet another winner from Sawyer Bennett. I know I’m in for a treat when I read one of Bennett’s books and this one is no different. I really enjoyed the setting and the characters. I’m a sucker for second chance romances, so if that’s your thing, you’ll love this book.

It was so obvious these two character were meant to be, but you can also tell that they needed the time apart to follow their passions and dreams. I love stories like that, giving each person time to grow and discover themselves, and then having them come back together and rediscover the love that never died. It was funny watching Eden and Coop deny their feelings for each other and then finally owning up to it. Their chemistry and banter was highly entertaining and you could feel the love and connection they shared. There was one moment where I wanted to smack some sense into Coop though, but he quickly got his head out of his butt and it all worked out in the end.

This is just one of those feel good romances, perfect for a summer time, or any time really, read. It’s pretty formulaic and breezy, which is the kind of read you want every now and then. You know what going to happen, but you just like watching it play out nonetheless.

In my world, Sawyer Bennett cannot write a bad book. Throw in that this is a second chance romance and I’m hooked. Let it take place in the south with a hot southern hometown boy, and OH-MY-Lanta, I’m a goner! Coop Mayfield has got to the best boyfriend ever. That is until he wasn’t.

When Eden Goodnight makes it big in the model and acting world, she left him behind. They haven’t as much as spoken in 14 years. Then she shows up at his house! But is it her house! WHOA! This is good.

After coming to an understanding…. Well sort of, they are staying under the same roof. Things get said and done and HOLY SMOKES talk about HOT sexiness. Once they decide to hop in the bed, they burn it up.

I love Sawyer Bennett, every single book she writes is AMAZING! Totally 5 stars! What’s next…. I’m sure it will be fabulous!

Eden is a Hollywood It-girl, but when her fiancé cheats and a back and forth PR war blows up, she’s forced back to her small town as she figures out her next steps. So when Cooper, her longtime ex-boyfriend comes back into her life, she needs to decide if her Hollywood career is worth giving up for a second chance at romance with the one who should have been “the one”.

Eden and Cooper are likeable character that you could easily fall in love with. I’m a sucker for second chances and the history between the two made for a sweet, spicy, love story. The book is told from a first person point of view from both characters. The smattering of flashbacks and small town nature of the story leave the characters grounded, no matter how far removed Eden is from her history.

I loved this book. This was second chance romance at its finest. Yes there was some cheesiness and predictability, but it was one of those stories that makes you feel fuzzy and warm at the end. I have not read the first book in the series of standalones so I am going to fix that right away. You do NOT have to have read the first to read Jilted. All in all, a great beach or summer read!

Sawyer Bennett keeps upping her sexy, dirty talking game. And seriously who can complain about that?! I absolutely adored this second chance romance!! Eden and Coop were the couple to envy back in high school, but then college came and Eden gets tapped to be the next big supermodel. Jump forward a dozen years and Eden is now a big-time actress with a hot new fiancée; too bad the guy's a douche and embarrasses her in front of a red carpet full of folks. So off to her hometown Eden goes to hide out and lick her wounds. Well more to just escape the toxicity that has become her life. So what's a girl to do when she hits town to not only a less than enthusiastic welcome, but she finds the boy that she walked away from is now inhabiting her family home? JILTED is full of sexy, light-hearted and oh so hot goodness. Coop and Eden were so good together, even when they were trying to one up the other. I loved the chemistry and banter, and the way that Coop was both hot as sin and sweet as pie. This pair definitely had me rooting for them to find their way!!

I like that this series features some really strong women and I absolutely love second chance romances. This one didn’t really give me the warm fuzzies though and it wasn’t as good as book 1 in the series which was a disappointment.

I don’t read reviews until after I finish a book but I agree with some other reviewers that the relations with the ‘other woman’ are not what I wanted to read…especially since she is not a likeable character. Also like book 1, the male MC wasn’t very likeable.

I’m normally a huge fan of Ms. Bennett’s but this is very predictable and nothing new.

Jilted is Sawyer Bennett's second entry in her new Love Hurts series.  Having loved book one-Sex in the Sticks, I was hoping it was going to be just as good. Sadly, while it is a good book, it just didn't tick all the boxes for me like Sex in the Sticks did.

Eden Goodnight is an academy award winning actress at the top of her career. She's engaged to a heartbreaker of an actor.  Life has treated her very well, until she finds out about her fiancé's extra curricular activities with his current co-star. Having to face the horror of all the public humiliation, Eden decides to take a vacation.  She returns to her house in Georgia, that was willed to her upon her grandmother's death, only to find her teenage sweetheart living there! What's Cooper doing in her house??

She finds out her grandmother also willed the house to Cooper so he has been living there ever since.  Feeling like a failure, Eden goes into town to get away from Coop so she doesn't strangle him.  Her reception is less than nice. Seems the town folk have little use for their starlet and let her know she is NOT welcome. Eden is at a loss why they were feeling like this. She decides to drown her sorrows in the new cupcake store, where she not only finds a sweet treat, she finds an old classmate who isn't so jaded.  She finds out quite a few things that were misconstrued about her. She heads home to clear the air with Coop.

Coop knows with Eden showing up after so many years, he is in for a bevy of emotions.  It still hurts when she left for modeling and that morphed into acting.  Once she's been back home a couple of days and they aired their dirty laundry-somewhat-they fall on what they always did best, sex! They term it as rebound sex and that's always good, especially when it has an expiration date. Only neither wants them to have an expiration date, but how can they make it work with houses across the country from one another, and careers to work?

I liked both Eden and Coop! Eden really had a bad gig growing up with her grandmother -who was less than happy to have her-after her parents died. Coop was everything to her and she finds out some things just don't change much! Coop is the whole package. Career driven, tall, dark and handsome, and of course a lover with a heart of gold! Neither of these two ever stopped the feelings they carried so long ago. I liked how the story unfolded and the whole premise was good, but I do not think it was executed as well as book one in the series.  The chemistry was ok, and I liked how things developed, but I think there wasn't a whole lot that happened outside of their insatiable need for sex. I did, however, still like it, and think it is definitely worth your time reading.

Eden Goodnight escaped her stardom and the glitters of Los Angeles to escape the humiliation she faced at the hands of her cheating fiance. She goes back to her hometown after ages to find peace and quite but instead comes across her brooding still hot as sin ex, Coop and a town that seems to hate her.

Coop was doing fine with his father's business and a constant stream of girls. The last thing he needs is his bratty Hollywood famous ex, Eden. Their break-up left an ugly taste in his mouth but he;s over it. Or so he thinks.

Old sparks are ignited and the tension between Eden and Coop is set to take the whole of Hollywood by storm.

AHHHH!!!! This was one of those books that you sit down with and just enjoy. The banter between Coop and Eden was AMAZINGLY HOT and funny. Their chemistry is off the charts hot. You can just look at them and feel it in your bones that those two are meant to be together. LOVE LOVE their story.

Can we take a second to discuss our Lord and Saviour Cooper Mayfield? Holy smokes was he hot or was he hot? He had such a dirty mouth on him that I couldn't help but blush. I adored how he cared for Eden and LOVED the way he was possessive of her. HE is such a gorgeous human being. I think I might just be in love with him.

I absolutely adored the concept of this story by Sawyer Bennett. It is a very light romantic comedy with some passionate moments that keep you on your toes. The banter alone between Eden and Coop was a blast. On top of that, you add their chemistry and you are swooned off your feet.
I really felt for Eden through this book. To be screwed over by her ex then when things come to light about what happened in her hometown and why no one wants a thing to do with her was utterly heartbreaking. Their war of the roses moments though. I laughed when it came to claiming that master bedroom!
Overall, I really enjoyed this light hearted read and I found it perfect for a summer read! You have passion, banter and quick wit throughout! Coop was one perfect hero to bring Eden back up.

Eden and Cooper were high school sweethearts, but life tore them apart. Cooper continued his life in their hometown, but Eden became a famous model and actress in Hollywood. While attending a red carpet event Eden finds out that her fiancee cheated on her and the next logical step for her is to go back to her hometown. When she gets back to her home, she find out that the house doesn’t belong only to her, but also to Cooper. Being back in town isn’t as great as it seemed, the people in town aren’t that nice to her and living with Cooper, the only man he ever loved, can it all be right again?

I did like the first book a bit more, but it was still a fun read. I didn’t warm up to Eden so much, but I really liked Cooped, he was very sweet, hard working and determined. It’s a well written novel with interesting plot and characters who stand out. Overall I enjoyed reading about Eden and Cooper’s story.

Such a great second chance romance! When Hollywood star Eden Goodnight is jilted by her Hollywood fiance, she heads home where she runs into her ex-boyfriend Cooper Mayfield. They grew apart, but never really got over each other. Now, back in town together, the old feelings reunite. Can they keep their rebound status or will it be so much more this time around?

I really liked the character in this book. My heart went out to Cooper and Eden as they tried to work their way back to each other. I could feel Eden's pain and frustration at what her life had become. I loved who Cooper became, but I have to say at the beginning, I was a little put off with him, but then again, he was always carrying a torch for Eden, he just didn't realize it. This was a good read and I'd love to see more in this small town!

Jilted is a second chance love story that will take you for a wild ride. I really liked Coop. He was down to earth and was highly relatable. Eden was a little harder to get, but she was still amazing. I could see where she came from and understand her a bit because of that. It didn't stop me from getting mad though!

Sawyer Bennett has written another fantastic romance to get lost in. Her attention to detail and character building helps me indulge in my need for sexy romance with substance. I really enjoyed this one and would definitely recommend it.
