If the cover of this book doesn't leave you all hot and bothered, than you can be sure that its contents definitely will ;) I am amazed to find that Sawyer Bennett is still able to give us new and amazing stories, that she is still able to write creative and new love scenes that leave us breathless. "Jilted" is the second book of her Love Hurts series and it again features a famous and glamorous heroine who finds love with an average Joe. Though I have to admit that Cooper Mayfield is not average in any way ;)
Eden Goodnight is the most sought after actress in Hollywood. A supermodel turned actress, she already has one Oscar under her belt. She is sexy, glamorous, talented and engaged to the sexiest actor in Hollywood. While on the red carpet at a movie premiere, she finds out that her fiancee has been cheating on her with his married co-star. She is more humiliated than upset and decides to lick her wounds at her hometown, Newberry. What she didn't expect was to find her first love, Coop, living in and owning half of her house.
Ever since losing his first love to fame and fortune, Cooper Mayfield has been a no-strings-attached type of man. He loves women and is more than willing and able to offer them a good time, but that is all he is willing to offer. It has been fourteen years since he has last seen Eden - unless you count the Sports Illustrated issue that she graced the cover of - and the last thing he wants is to have to share a house with her, but it seems that they have no choice. Coop had believed that his sweet and easy going Eden was forever lost under all her Hollywood glitz and glamour, so he is more than surprised to find his sweet Eden, of course sexier and hotter than before.
Will this second time around prove to be their time? A beautiful second chances romance with some very naughty love scenes ;) A perfect summer read. Can't wait to see what Sawyer Bennett has in store for us next!

This was another sweet read from Sawyer Bennett in the Love Hurts series. Her books are such easy reads, with very little angst. I really liked it.
Eden and Cooper were high school sweethearts with intentions of beginning their life together. But when Eden gets an opportunity for modeling with a nice big salary to boot, she has no choice but to go for it. And while they try to keep the relationship going "long distance", it became too hard for both of them. They eventually decide to let each other go.....and that was what killed me. It wasn't that they didn't love each other anymore, it was just the circumstances standing in their way of letting them be happy.
Many, many years later, Eden has expanded her success into acting and has even won an Oscar. Engaged, seemingly happy, and a career to boot, what could go wrong? Ha! Things are never as they seem in Hollywood!
After some severe humiliation, Eden returns to her small hometown.......where she is not welcome! And of course, she runs into Cooper......damn!
If you are looking for a sweet, second-chance romance, this is a good one!

Eden Goodnight and Cooper Mayfield were high school and college sweethearts. In a strange turn of events, Eden is discovered one day by a big time modeling agency and her life takes a dramatic turn. Instead of graduating from college, marrying Coop and then having his babies, Eden's new life takes her away from her home town of Newberry, GA and into a life of glitz and glamour where modeling eventually turns into acting.
Flash forward 14 years and Eden is walking the red carpet with her fiance, Brad, when a bomb is dropped...Brad is cheating on her with his leading lady. Feeling humiliated, Eden flees the scene and quickly decides to hide out in the only place no one would ever think to look...Newberry, GA...at her childhood home that she inherited from her Grandmother. Imagine Eden's surprise when she realizes that Coop lives in the house when her grandmother left him half the house too. From there the fun begins. The things these two did to each other in the beginning was hysterical....I just kept laughing out loud!
After a while, Eden and Coop get back to being civil towards each other and that's when left over feelings start to emerge. The two of them come to an agreement while Eden is still in town and quickly they start to realize that those feelings from 14 years ago have not gone away. It was a fun and entertaining trip these two went on to get to their happy ending, but it sure was worth it.
I really loved both of these characters. They were fun and real and their story was perfect!

When Eden Goodnight finds out in the most public of ways that her fiancé has been cheating on her, she runs away back to her hometown of Newberry to lick her wounds. She has been away for years and is mystified by the town’s cold reception of her. Even worse, when she arrives at her ancestral home, she finds her old high school sweetheart, Cooper Mayfield, living there. Although they parted on amicable terms due to their circumstances, things are strained between them. However, in spite of the strain between them, there’s no denying their old attraction or the warm memories of their love.
“This is the start of my reclaiming, and I feel like the possibilities are endless with Eden.”
As old misunderstandings come to light, the two embark on a friends-with-benefits relationship – with an expiration date. However, the more time they spend together, the more they realise that things just aren’t that simple. Unfortunately, their present is just as opposite as their past, so how can they possibly have a future together?
I loved this story! In spite of her Hollywood lifestyle, Eden is genuine and hides her vulnerability and loneliness under her A-lister façade. Cooper is a solid, sexy small town guy with a big heart and a healthy disregard of what people think. I adored these two! Thoroughly recommend if you fancy a fab, easy read that was sweet and seriously hot!!

Eden Goodnight is a famous award-winning actress. She made her dreams of fame and success come true, but in her heart, she is still a small-town girl. She has been on her own for many years and when she thought she had finally found her plus one, he betrayed her. She has faced bravely a public humiliation and wants to take some time for herself. She needs an escape, and decides to go back to her roots. Her hometown is the place where no one would think to find her.
Her hometown is also the place where her high school sweetheart still lives. Coop Mayfield is a landscape architect, dedicated to his work. Both Coop and Eden were devastated when they broke up, they tried for a long period to make their long distance relationship work, but failed. Their goals took them in different directions.
As it happens, they must share Eden’s family house, her grandmother gave Coop a joint life estate in her will. Eden is at a crossroads in her career, she wants to lead a more fulfilling life and is willing to make some changes. Acting has consumed her for years, she wants to try different things. Coop and Eden cared for one another deeply and still do. They are more mature and willing to figure out some kind of compromise to be together.
Jilted is a sweet, fun and romantic story of new beginnings that hits all the right notes! The characters are engaging and easy to love. I was not a fan of Coop’s womanizing ways, though!

4.5 stars
If I had to compare the two books in this series, I enjoyed this one better than the first. I didn’t have nearly so many hangups with the premise this time around, and thoroughly enjoyed the characters and the plot arch. These two books do not overlap in characters or storyline, so stand alone perfectly.
Eden Goodnight had made it big, but hadn’t planned on cameras catching her most humiliating moments for public viewing. Returning to her hometown to recover out of the spotlight, she didn’t expect the cold reception she received. She knew it had been a long time (14 years) since she had been home for more than a few days, but she couldn’t imagine what she had done to earn the cold shoulder and outright rudeness from her small town neighbors.
I loved watching Eden settle back into her grandmother’s house again, learning that the man she left behind is also living in the house. Those first scenes as they confronted each other had me in stitches with the hilarity of their power struggle. But I loved the way Cooper quickly became her biggest supporter in town.
The chemistry between them was intense even after so many years apart. The feelings were long buried, but not extinguished and they rekindled right away. It was nice that though they had had such differing experiences during their time apart, they picked up almost where they left off.
This was a fun, sweet, sexy read with great characters. The addition of the side characters built a charming small town full of good people, and a few rotten ones to stir the pot. I enjoyed this story from start to finish and found myself grinning often at the antics.
I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

***3 ‘Heavy sigh’ Stars***
I suppose it has to happen every once in a blue moon, though I wish it didn’t, but Jilted just didn’t do it for me, and believe me when I say that it hurts me to admit. It’s still getting a 3 star rating from me because it still has the smexy you expect from a Sawyer Bennett romance and I really liked Eden, but I unfortunately didn’t love nor fully warm up to Coop. Yes, he could be all kinds of Southern charm, good ‘old boy smexy, not gonna take that away from him, but his actions towards the start of the book just rubbed me the wrong way. Now I know some will think it’s because of how he views women and relationships, but nope, I was okay with that and his manwhore-ish ways, it was how he treated Eden at their first run in when she returns to Newberry. I didn’t expect him to welcome her with open arms, it’s obvious from how he’s “lived” his life that he’s never gotten over her, but what he did just rubbed me the wrong way because he knew better. Instead of a man, I saw a child and that image stuck with me throughout the book.
It pains me to be in the minority because I am a huge Sawyer Bennett fangirl, but it is what it is. This is still a fun, quick and smexy read and as I said, I really liked Eden so the read was worth it in the end. So I’m just going to stick this one on the “It’s not you, it’s me” & “this is an anomaly” shelf and move on.

Never disappointed with Ms. Bennett's books! Eden a young girl who lost her parents to early in life went to live with her grandmother. She wasn't much of a parent so Eden was pretty much alone in life. She had her high school boyfriend Cooper who was always there for her. Even went to college together. When Eden is picked for a modeling career out of the blue her life as well as Coop's is forever changed.
She loses her old life eventually completely swept off in the world of modeling and then to acting. She never had a close friend or boyfriend in her life since Coop until she finds herself engaged to a costar, although she really isn't ready for the engagement itself. When she finds the truth out, she leaves to return to her only true home in Georgia.
Coop has not had a serious relationship since Eden, not sure why but just continues his man whore ways. Coop thinks some awful things about Eden and is less than happy to see her back as well as the whole small town they live in. When Eden comes home she is shocked to see Coop living in her childhood home and then to find out his grandmother gave him part of it.
The banter between the two is great. But when the truth of a misunderstanding is answered and things are cleared up Coop and the whole town change there mind about her.
Can Coop and Eden grow up enough to make things work with there separate lives they both have and the distance there careers cause. Or will they lose something special they always had.
Totally hated to see this book end! Honest review in exchange for ARC.

Can a second chance romance work out when it really needs too?
Eden Goodnight is Hollywood's "It" girl, every movie roll she takes is pure gold, and is engaged to her male counterpart. She thought everything was perfect until while at Brad's movie premiere she learns of his cheating ways. So she leaves Hollywood to get time to herself and to heal from the public humiliation. So she goes back to the one place that brings her comfort, Goodnight House in Newberry Georgia.
Cooper Mayfield was Eden's first love and she still has a piece of his heart. But he has made a great life for himself since she has left to follow her dreams 14 years ago. His dream of working beside his Dad in the landscape business and now with landscape design has gotten even bigger.
Seeing each other again has brought up old feelings that both are not ready to deal with. As Eden learns about what he grandmother did in her will and Coop learns how Eden lived her dream but was so alone, they grow even closer together. Can they make it work the second time around? Will Eden give up her live in Hollywood to make a live with Coop? Can Coop accept her live in L.A. or bring her back to stay in Newberry for good?
I loved this story, it is full of lasting love, second chances, and it's funny, heartfelt and perfect. Being book 2 of the Love Hurts series, it is not connected to Sex in the Sticks and can be read as a standalone, so enjoy one or both.

Second Chance romances are one of my favorites to read and Ms. Bennett knocks it out of the park with this one!
Eden is famous and discovers in a very public way that her fiance hasn't been faithful. Hurt and emotional she flees to the hometown she hasn't returned to since leaving for college 14 years before. That return thrusts her into the path of her first love, Cooper. Unfortunately, her escape from the frying pan of Hollywood drops her right into the fires of a disapproving Southern town.
I loved the layers to Jilted.
There are misunderstandings and old feelings swirling around. I appreciated the idea that when you know someone so well at one point in life it's easy to see to the heart of them and forgive. I also enjoyed the exploration of the idea that you can meet the right person and the wrong time - especially when there is a chance to try again to see if the timing would be better now.
Jilted is well written (as expected) and includes good doses of humor, steamy sexy times, friendships, love, and compromise. If you are looking for a feel good read with a strong heroine and a sexy alpha hero then Jilted would be a great read for you.

I have to say I liked this book but didn't really love it. This is the second book in the Love Hurts series. The first book was great and had a lot of humor to it and a interesting story line. This book just had none of the charm. I had a hard time liking Eden and Coop's interactions. It felt like I was reading a YA book, because it seemed like high school drama. It seemed like Cooper had a lot of resentment towards Eden about her walking away and choosing modeling and acting over him. They don't want people to know yet he kinda shows a lot of PDA around town. Just seemed a little all over the place sometimes. But for what the story was lacking to my liking, Ms Bennett knows how to write some very good steamy, hot bedroom scenes. There were a few side characters that you meet. I really liked Missy and I hope she could possibly get a story, because that girl needs a HEA! It was still over all a good read and I would recommend it.

Ok so its books like this that make me re-fall in love with the authors and the wonderful heartfelt stories they write. This book is so sweet and swoony. It had some angst but not to much. This had the right amount of everything. Usually when it comes to second chance romance reads there is a lot of angst due to the couples back story and the issues it brings to the present. While this did have angst it was not over powering. This hit all the feelers just the way I love my reads. When Eden got screwed over very publicly she decided that she needed a vacation and to go home for a bit. Little did she know the one guy she has only ever truly loved and is the only one who has made her feel special is currently living in her/his home. When Eden gets home after being gone for 14 years, I had to laugh at the antics that go on between Eden and Coop. You can feel their chemistry and sparks fly from the beginning even tho they can't admit it. The heat between them is explosive and very hot. The issue becomes the same issues they had 14 years ago. They have 2 separate lives and live thousands of miles apart and neither of them want to give up their life but also don't want to give up each other. Can they figure out a way to be together or will they go their separate ways forever? Want to know....Well take a chance and get the book and find out how it ends. This is the 2nd book in the Love Hurts Series and is a standalone book. I have read Sex in the Stick book #1 in the Love Hurts Series and it is also amazing! Both book have completely separate characters that do not interlink in anyway. They are completely standalones and both are 5 Star must 1-click reads

Eden left her hometown in Georgia 14 years ago to make a name for herself in Hollywood. And she did. She even won an Oscar.
But after finding out - live on the red carpet - that her fiancé cheated on her, she needs some relaxing weeks in the peacefulness of her family estate back home.
Enter Cooper.

He's now living in her family mansion.
He's the one that got away. Or rather the one who let her get away all those years ago. They were so in love in highschool. But she left to become a model.
But now she's back and it doesn't look as if any of the old feelings are still there.... but of course they are. Even through their constant fighting they - or rather, we, the reader - notice, that there's massive sparkage between them!!! ☺
But the whole town hates her ... plus, he's just the gardener and she's a rich Hollywood diva....
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO EDEN & COOP??
WILL THERE BE A HAPPiLY EVER AFTER?
READ THE BOOK TO FiND OUT! ☺☺☺

Put two fighting exes with lots of left-over-feelings together in one house and let the fun times begin!
I enjoyed reading it - finished it in one day!
Great Hollywood / small-town / second-chance lovestory!
JILTED was an adorable second-chance lovestory!! Fun, sweet, moving & erotic! Run to your nearest amazon for your own COOP - this one is MINE! ☺

I have discovered that every book Sawyer writes is better than the last one. Jilted is no different. I couldn't get enough of Eden and Coop's story, barely being able to put my beloved e-reader down to race through this. I would love to see more from this town in future books.
Note, I did receive an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Eden and Coop were high school sweethearts and lovers. Then Eden is discovered by a modeling agency, drops out of college after one semester and heads to L.A. Cooper stays in college knowing he’s going home to help run the family business. They try to make long distance work but it doesn’t.
Fast forward 14 years. Eden is a mega movie star engaged to another big star. While walking the red carpet, she discovers he’s been cheating. She flees back to her small hometown to relax and regroup. When she arrives back at her family home, she discovers Coop is living there too.
Coop is running the family business and is quite the manwhore. We get too much detail on this. It made me really not like him.
These two fall into bed together rather quickly, but not before establishing this is just a rebound fling with an expiration date. There is a lot of sex, not much talking, with small town attitudes and interference.
The story is light with a predictable HEA, simple characters and no complex story line. I did like it a little more than the first book in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC provided by the publisher and NetGalley.

After discovery that her fiance cheated on her during a red carpet appearance, Eden Goodnight decides to get out of dodge (California) and go back home to Newberry, Georgia. Little did she know, when she shows up to the home she grew up in, her first love, Coop Mayfield is also occupying residence there.
Coop and Eden were each others first love, but when a modeling scout wanted Eden to walk the runway, they couldn't make their relationship work and although they ended on "good terms" Coop has never really let another woman to take residence in his heart but rather his bed. Their reunion wasn't one to be missed for sure, but after they set some rules, it's all about rebound sex.
I love second chance romance. I knew sparks were going to be on fire between Eden and Coop that's for sure. And although was upset about the ex-fiance's cheating, she really wasn't in love with him anyway. There was funny moments at the beginning between Eden and Coop and the sexy times was hot. I think I wanted a bit more angst. Overall, if you're looking for a second chance at love, add Jilted to your Summer read.

GAH! Just finished another sweet and romantic novel from Sawyer Bennett. This is one of those authors that I rely on whenever I want a dose of cute, light-hearted, sexy romance and she BRINGS IT every single time.
This one is a second chance romance – Hollywood leading lady reunited with her childhood love — a boy she left behind. Eden and Coop were young lovers but when Eden got offered a modeling job she could not turn it down. A few days of shoots turned into months away and eventually Eden had to make a choice to come home or follow her career – she chose the latter.
Eden has successful career but she was not lucky in love as she was publicly humiliated by her cheating fiancé. Eden decided to come home for a quiet retreat but her life is about to get even more complicated when she comes face to face with a gorgeous, sexy, all grown up Coop… fanning self … Seriously, Coop is a total package – young, sexy, sweet, caring, and supportive … Their break up was mutual but Coop never fell out of love with Eden. Even with the misunderstanding and the town hating on Eden, Coop was always protective and stood by Eden’s side – totally swoony, right? I like Eden – I know it sounds like she left Coop behind but it wasn’t as simple. Long distance relationships are hard for young lovers so something has to give. When Eden chooses a career over Coop it was the hardest decision she had to make. For years, Coop has always been in her heart. Now that the two reunited, how would Eden and Coop deal with balancing careers and their relationship? Coop and Eden have different lives, aren’t they back to square one?
I really fell in love with Coop and Eden’s love story. When I heard that Jilted is a story about a movie star I was skeptical but their story felt real and genuine. The chemistry and passion they share is undeniable and ignites rather quickly once they see each other again. Eden is a bit misunderstood but she really is beautiful inside and out. I love that Eden is a super star but she never forgets her roots. I am a sucker for second chance romance and Jilted was perfect – sweet, swoony, great banters, plenty of angst, passion and sexual tension. Of course, I love the happy ending – I live for it!!!
Highly recommend this book – quite an enjoyable and entertaining weekend read.

Country girl Eden Goodnight leaves her much loved boyfriend behind for a modeling career, dropping out of college while he stays. Cooper is steady and knows what he wants and he wants to stay in their small town in Georgia. They try long distance but it doesn't work and their break up so painful, neither one really recovered. Cooper is the more bitter having sex only brief hook ups, while Eden has moved on to Hollywood, an Oscar under her belt but she's still always alone.
She meets someone, another actor who makes her feel safe which is what she craves, they become engaged quickly against her better judgement and the end all was on the night of his big movie premier a photographer asks her how she feels about the pictures of her fiancé with his co star in various intimate photos. He shoves them at her and she goes ballistic. I applauded her. Then she goes ballistic on the co-star and shows her husband the photos. Meanwhile the boyfriend acts like a complete a@@ and Eden decides she's had enough and heads back home to her family homestead in Georgia only to find Cooper living there. After her parents died, she was left in the care of her cold selfish grandmother who couldn't be bothered with her. Coop was there for her. She couldn't figure out why he's living there when he nastily tells her that he owns half the house, that it's in the will and had she bothered to even stay around long enough after her grandmother died she'd have known.
Coop was a real jerk for a good part of the book. And highly oversexed. I thought a lot of the scenes were unnecessary to the story, they took away from the dialogue between these two.
They've agreed to a rebound relationship from 14 years ago. There's some drama in town first with the towns people themselves along with a girl that Coop was bedding but getting ready to dump. Someone from high school. She was long past a woman scorned, she was flat out nuts. Thankfully Sawyer kept her appearances few.
The story peaks when Eden has to fulfill a contractual obligation and Coop tells her not to bother coming back. She's hurt, angry and leaves right after he walks away to shower. She refuses to answer his calls and texts and I really felt bad for her, for the first time in the book. She was a likable character, Coop grew on you, when he was nice he was great, when the rubber hit the road and things didn't go his way he was a complete jerk.
This is a quick read, you can skip over the sex scenes after while because they're redundant. The plot had great bones. Maybe not Sawyer's best, but give it a read.
3.5 stars from me.
**arc from NetGalley and Loveswept in exchange for a fair review**

This was an enjoyable read. The first book in the series had more heart to it, but this one was just as light and fun despite the title of "Jilted".
It's a second chance romance with Eden coming back to her hometown to get away from negative attention from her cheating ex. With her famous persona, her hometown was the best place to go to get out of the spotlight, which is where she runs into her childhood sweetheart.
There's a bit of drama with the town due to a misunderstanding and some more drama with Coop's latest fling, but nothing that took away from my enjoyment of the story. And it had a cute epilogue!
I recommend this if your looking for a quick, fun read. ARC provided by NetGalley.
