Another quick funny romance story from this author. This is the first book in a new series by this author. I loved the characters, they were well written. The story flowed really well. Only problem was it was too short, I was left waning more from these characters and the story. I can't wait to read more from this series and this author in the future.
Highly recommended

Are you in the mood for a story that’s just plain fun with a bit of steamy tossed in for good measure? Then Breaking The Cowboy’s Rules is perfect to fill that particular longing.

Trevor has to find some additional income for his ranch or it’s in danger of going under. Debts left behind after his grandfather’s death mean some big payments are coming due far too soon. He might be desperate but this whole idea of “glamping” is totally foreign to his life style and mind set… but, if it can bring in some extra income and keeps his ranch running for another year – so be it bring on the glam. The thing is though, well, Trevor is a list maker, a rule maker, a follow the plan to the final period on the page kinda guy and the feisty, beautiful woman who is out to glam the ranch into the profit columns is as far from that mindset as is humanly possible. Sabrina is easily the best looking thing on the ranch, but if she even thinks about bedazzling his horses’s shoes he’s gonna throw a hissy fit to beat all hissy fits ever attempted. Her ideas to glam up the ranch are a bit, well, too much to handle for this down to earth cowboy. It’s going to take some compromise and some rethinking to make this whole thing work. And maybe a bit of romancing as well.

I can’t help it, this romance just put a big ole smile on my face. Trevor and Sabrina are about as different than night and day, but somehow they work together perfectly. Sometimes you don’t question magic, you simply go with the flow. Sabrina makes mistakes, but her heart is in the right place. Trevor has to learn to loosen up and let a little of the unconventional things in life make peace with his lists. Together they make quite an interesting fun couple.

I enjoyed my time at Wildhorse Ranch, and I believe you will, too. A fun romance with interesting people and a laid back feel that simply brings out the “feels good” in your day. I’d recommend this one for any Romance reader who simply wants to put a little fun and romance into their day.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Ah, how I enjoy sweet romances that tug at the heart strings but are just that - sweet romances, without any added drama, or something else. Every once in a while it is refreshing to read something like this, and Leslie North's novel fulfilled that need for me.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed her other novels - those who are either part of ex-Seals, or include the Russian Mob - but this one is different - just sweet, but not plain in any way. Of course, there are multiple brothers's involved, so that we can expect at least another book in the series, but other than that, the setting and tension is different from the last few Leslie North trilogies.
Not better, or worse, just refreshingly different. And did I mention that I thought it was sweet?
This book ended up being the perfect palate cleanser between thrillers and mysteries, and more suspenseful romance novels.
Trevor and Sabrina are hard working people who seem like they come from a completely different world, but have so much in common, that they are absolutely perfect for each other. And thankfully, the Author allows them to explore that possibility, without too much outside drama, or tension that often feels manufactured, just to add unnecessary suspense.
If you are looking for a quick read, that simply deals with two people falling in love, and is in my opinion meant to be, then you should read Breaking The Cowboy’s Rules.

Breaking the Cowboy’s Rules is book one in the Wildhorse Ranch Brothers series by Leslie North. This is my very first book by this author.

Trevor Wild loves what he does. He is a breeder of quarter horses on the ranch he inherited, Wildhorse Ranch. Trevor has a twin brother that loves the ranch as well and tries to help out but he has a life and job outside the ranch. Along with inheriting the ranch, Trevor also inherited it’s financial problems including a huge payment due soon. To keep his livelihood alive, he is forced to think outside the box. So he and his brother hired a Glamping Adventure Coordinator to bring new life in to his ranch. What is Glamping you might ask. It is a cross between Glamorous and Camping. So city folk can come out to the country and live like the cowboys do and pay good money to do it. Trevor, though, is a very set in his ways cowboy. He does everything by a checklist and never deviates from his schedule. So when he first met the new addition to his ranch, the oh so beautiful Sabrina, his world got turned upside down.

Sabrina Hearthstone is good at what she does. So she tries her best to adhere to the ranch owner’s lists and rules. She truly wants to help him to save the ranch. But he seems to be bent on making things difficult for her at every turn. As Sabrina and Trevor spend time together, though, somehow the animosity turns into tension, sexual tension. The attraction makes things even more awkward between them. And then he kisses her, and the kiss starts a fire within her that won’t be extinguished, no matter how hard she tries.

This was such a cute little story. Sabrina was adorable. She took things that have been discarded and finds new things to make out of them. She called it upcycled. She tried so hard at everything she did, though she was not always successful, in fact at times things went horribly awry. Her heart was so big. Trevor was frustrating at times, he was just so rigid. But there is nothing like an adorable Glamping Coordinator to melt the iciest of cowboys.

The next book in this series is Healing the Quarterback and I look forward to reading it.

The first of the series, Breaking the Cowboy's Rules was always going to be a wild ride with Trevor and his by the book rules and the vivacious and unconventional Sabrina with her free spirit.

I loved the characters and the story development and can’t wait to read what comes next; so if you’re looking for a hot romance with some serious sass and banter along the way, this is definitely one not to miss!

3 stars.
ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
This was a really quick read with lovable characters and a fun storyline but I just wish there was a lttle more to this book as I feel like it needed just a little more time for the characters to fully develop and the romance to evolve.
Aside from that it was a really sweet cowboy romance and I am looking forward to see what the rest of this series brings.

Trevor is working to save the farm that has been in family for generations. The time has come to make a rather large balloon payment on the mortgage and he decides to allow his farm to be used for glamping. Glamorous camping was something he never heard of and is enraptured with Sabrina his new activities coordinator. Leslie North provides her reader with a fun and entertaining story! Drawing her readers in and making them laugh as both characters find their way with one another.

**I received Breaking the Cowboy's rules from Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review**

Breaking the Cowboy's Rules by Leslie North is the first book in her new Wildhorse series. I've read the author's Seal Guardian series and was anxious to read this book. It's actually pretty darn good and I enjoyed it, I'd give the book a 4.8 stars. My only issue is that it was really short and I wanted to see if Trevor was able to make the Glamping work and pay off loans.

Trevor Wild is determined to make his families ranch work and pay off the unexpected loans left by his late grandfather. When his twin brother Trent suggests taking a portion of the ranch and making it glamping he's very reluctant. But he goes ahead and soon Sabrina Hearthstone is taking his junk wood pile and "upcycling" it into art. Little does he know that even though she doesn't like his precise lists that he might be soon falling for her.

Sabrina Hearthstone loves her job and she's very good at it but when she meets Trevor for the first time and she know that her work is cut out for her trying to convince him that she can make glamping work for his ranch. But then she gets in trouble with the hoarders next door for upcycling some of their junk and Trevor has to rescue her. She doesn't mix business with pleasure knowing that the company rules but somehow Trevor is soon becoming a part of her life. Can she help out his ranch and still somehow resist his charms?

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

This was a quick but fun read about an uptight cowboy with lots of rules, and a woman who was trying to help him with having guests at his ranch by glamping. I think that Sabrina was quite patient with Trevor because if I had to deal with someone who gave me lists and expected me to run according to his timeline and was not willing to budge on anything, I think I would have quit the job!

Since Trevor really needed the money to pay off debts, you would think he would be a little more accommodating instead of hindering all of Sabrina’s suggestions. I really felt for her when their first trial run went so badly because Trevor chose people who had been in the ranching business for years and everything they saw was not that interesting, it was almost like Trevor was trying to sabotage Sabrina.
Trevor redeemed himself in my eyes when he insisted that he make use of the pawn shop instead of Sabrina. After he (in my opinion) was a jerk about her mistake and subsequent water damage, Sabrina wanted to make amends while Trevor just got angry and was pretty mean to her.

I liked that the ending gave more info on the problem that Sabrina caused with the Millers and wrapped up a few little questions that I had earlier in the book. The ex-girlfriend, Marcy, could have been a bit longer as I wanted to know what made her change her mind. I don’t recall the mention of who broke it off, but why was she trying to get back with Trevor??

Trevor and Sabrina seemed like they were opposites in terms of personality but both loved the ranching and animals, even though Trevor was wrong about thinking she was a “city girl!” I think they worked well for each other, as Trevor really need someone to help him from being so grim every day and Sabrina needed a man to ground her. I especially loved that Sabrina’s upscaling was profitable enough that she could save money for something very important.

Breaking the Cowboy's Rules is a quick read. Its sweet and funny with the dual-meaning banter between Trevor and Sabrina. The story was different from the usual cowboy stories and I enjoyed the overall progression of the story. The ending was really sweet as well.

I haven't read much about Cowboys but I really liked this book. The difficult character of Trevor was well written and Sabrina was so delicate and cute and strong headed I fell in love with both of them. I am looking forward for the next book in this series.

The Wildhorse Ranch is owned and ran by cowboy Trevor Wild. Unfortunately he needs to bring in some quick cash as he inherited a bad business deal with his ranch.
A Glamping guru Sabrina Hearthstone is hired to "Glamp" up the ranch and invite visitors. They butt heads at first as Trevor's days are planned out, and he acts on them religiously, he has too, Sabrina though loves to upcycle, she'll dig through anything to make an interesting alternative.
A fairly fast novel but not short on fun and entertainment. Trevor and Sabrina had different views on how the ranch could prosper, as Trevor did hate any change to his routine.
A great read, and I'm looking forward to his brother Trent's story.
