This is the first book by Elizabthe Hayley that I have ever read. The story was very good and sweet!
His story is about a nerdy doctor name Alessandra and a hunky football player named Jace . They meet at the hospital Alessandra works at because Jace is there visiting a patient that he meet due to a foundation he works with. They instantly clash because Jace cant pronounce her first or last name. So he calls her Dr. Coma! After Aly leavers the room she runs into her ex from college. Instead of telling him she is single she see Jace and introduces him as her boyfriend and kisses him.
Jaces friends and Alessandra's friend both make a bet with them. Jaces friends bet is who can have the hottest date to go to an event and they get to choose his date. Alessandra's bet that she had with her friend is she has to go out with the next guy that asks her out.
Once Jace asked her out he still wants to call her by a knock-name and she eventually tells him he can call her Aly. They go on several dates eventually both forget about the bets because real feelings start to develop.
I liked this sorry but it moved a little fast at first. they had sex on their first date, anal sex on their second or third date. I didn't care for the anal
Sex part but there was only scene like that. If I wouldn't have been reading this book to review I probably would have stopped reading it at that point. I'm glad I didn't because the rest of the book they actually did more than have sex and actually got to know each other. This is a sweet story with dual POV. I will probably read another book by this author.
I received a free copy for an honest review.

'The Bet' is mostly an angst-free, light-hearted read of an accidental meeting between a doctor and a famous player (whom the former doesn't know at all) which progresses mostly because of a bet between friends.
Alessandra Mastrazacoma (now that's a mouthful) and Jace Benning are an unlikely pair and the whole story feels like a journey of the both of them finding common ground, apart from nailing sexual compatibility in the bedroom. Neither of them really pretend to be who they aren't; Alessandra is outrightly blunt and in unapologetic for being so while Jace still struggles with his poor, smalltown roots but isn't quite afraid to put everything on the line for her.
The ride isn't fully of peaks and valleys - and this will probably appeal to readers who are tired of adult histrionics better confined to the high-school classroom - but is instead, one that catalogues each and every step of Aly and Jace getting into their relationship proper. The ending is a predictably neat wrap-up after some grovelling on Jace's part, a HEA that pushes Aly and Jace into a happily committed relationship after that small hiccup.
As light-hearted and easy a read 'The Bet' is however, I found myself mostly uninspired by this pairing, which is probably a just a case of my bucking the trend again. I thought their chemistry rather non-existent as the move straight into the bedroom very early on eschewed any tension that could have made the anticipation more worth it. And as well and good the sex scenes may be written, I was bored (and skimmed those scenes) because I couldn't find anything compelling about this couple. Consequently, it was difficult to follow the progression of Aly/Jace's relationship as there just didn't seem to be anything else to look forward to, except for the bet that Jace made with his buddies and the fallout that you know would come from it at the very end.

Oy. You're not funny, man.
She shouldn't let some ex keep affecting her like that.
Well, this just opened up a whole can of worms.
Should big, strong athletes be this scared of a dark street?
Geez, it's like Athletes' Mafia or something!
Men are stupid.
How about you just don't kill anyone, Lane, father or not.
Yikes! Are there any normal men in this city?
Yeesh, remind me to floss more.
She's anxious to go home and eat a cucumber salad?
Dude, if she didn't like you, she wouldn't have slept with you on the first date.
Brian was a douche. You have to sleep-train babies. Why not a hamster?
Only a guy would know the full names of Victoria's Secret supermodels. I couldn't tell you who was who.
Should taking about car accidents be getting them horny?
The menu for the class sounds so good. I hope they can do it.
She should report her boss for sexual harassment, at least.
Her dad sounds very judgmental.
Now I really want a hot dog.
Did her boss really just pimp her out? Did that just happen?!
I like his dad much better now. His mom needs to have that come-to-Jesus talk with his idiot brother.
Good toast.
Oh hell no! It's on!
She should realize that the only reason she was a part of the bet was because Jace was talking about her to his friends.
That was a very good apology. How will he ever top that when it comes time to propose?

Can't wait for the rest of this series! These men are sexy trouble!
Sexy QB Jace stumbles across Dr. Alessandra while he is visiting the pediatric cancer ward at the local hospital. Dr. Aly doesn't want anything to do with him after a prior heartbreak.
When they each become the object of bets with their friends they soon find out maybe they have hit jackpot. Jace as Aly were sweet, funny and super hot and sexy. Aly discovers the jock heartthrob is actually a caring person with a safe family history. He is her true protector.
Jace finds that Aly doesn't just give her all to her patients but is there for him in the same way. But what about the bet? What happens when it's revealed and feelings are hurt.
Loved Elizabeth Hayley's writing style. Great story which leaves you wanting the rest of this series pronto.

I couldn't put this one down. I connected with the main character Aly so much. She was an awkward, blunt, somewhat socially challenged protagonist. She is not much of a talker or even a people person but an amazing physician who genuinely cares for her patients. During rounds one day she bumps into Jace, an all-star quarterback who is volunteering at the hospital.
Their paths continue to cross at the hospital and due to a bet with his friends, Jace asks out Aly. Ironically due to another bet Aly is forced to say yes, even though neither is very interested/compatible with the other. As you can imagine the first date doesn't go as planned in more ways that one. ;)
I loved the progression of the relationship and how Aly didn't all of a sudden become a social butterfly after meeting Jace. Her character stayed true throughout the book. There are a few bumpy moments to add onto the climax and surrounding characters but besides that this was a somewhat predictable story. This however did not distract from the book and the the likable protagonists.
Recommendation: Read it! Its a sweet sports romance with plenty of steam.
