This book invites us to look at the way we perceive things: do we actually think we are unique and different from others by way of thinking? Why do we get influenced by some statements we know is factually incorrect, but we just cannot think rationally through?
Through this book, we get a sense of our human-ness and how to hack that thinking process. At the same time, we can learn how to persuade people to our way of thinking.
The writing is kept interesting by the anecdotes of everyday issues we meet. I enjoyed this book.

If you are truly interested in brain research, then this book is worth your time. Otherwise, I'm not sure this book is ready for a general audience.

I really enjoyed reading this book and getting an insight as to how the human mind works. The author used many case studies which I thoroughly enjoyed. Some of those studies were shocking while others made it easy to empathize with the participants. One fact that I can most certainly agree with which was touched upon in the book was that humans react better to positive reinforcement than to negative reinforcement. In one of the studies, the participant had to push a button to win a dollar amount if he or she got the answer correct. The participant was quick to push the button to win the money. In the same study, participants were told if they got the answer wrong, the money would be deducted. The participants were a lot more careful when it risked having the prize being taken away. The human psyche is really amazing if you think about it…pun intended. Haha.

Thank you to Netgalley, Tali Sharot, and Henry Holt & Company for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.
