This is an excellent coffee-table sort of book, cram packed with vibrant illustrations and weird and wonderful facts. It's approximately 200 pages long and each page has at least one, but often multiple, fun facts based around a theme. Random Illustrated Facts would make a great gift, but it isn't the kind of thing that I would normally just buy for myself.

The book is split up into sections, so the facts are loosely based around themes: animals, everyday things, history, etc. Whilst I knew a few of these facts - for example, that in 2013 the Mars Rover sang Happy Birthday to itself - there were a lot I didn't know, so it was great to learn a few things. I did look up a couple to confirm their validity, so I'm reasonably confident that the facts in this book are actually true.

The illustrations are cute and the style is consistent throughout; they're detailed doodles, in full colour, and always related to the facts. I didn't give this book five stars because I thought that some of the pages were overcrowded; some of the colours were too jarring and the writing was sometimes difficult to follow if there were, say, five facts on a page and illustrations for each.

Overall, this book is gorgeous and the facts are interesting. Like most books of this type, it doesn't have a whole lot of re-reading value, but it was super cool and easy to read.

My thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for an ARC of this book.

Random Illustrated Facts is a great way to start learning about all the crazy things that have happened and are still happening. I have a greater respect for history now, knowing that I could stumble upon unexpected information. Some of the facts were gross, the bugs especially, but they are facts. I will admit, my favorite section was the first one. Who knew animals and historical figures joined together so often? If only there had been cameras during Napoleon's little experience. My guess is that it would have been a viral video.

The illustrations are awesome. They make the facts more than just words on a page. I felt like the facts became something more when combined with the illustrations. Mike Lowery should write a companion book to this one with just history facts. I'm sure there are a lot of random history facts out there that most people don't know about. I think it would make history come alive in a way that it doesn't for a lot of people. I know I would have liked something like that when I was taking history in high school.

I don't know of any demographic that would not like this book. There is something for everyone. It's an enjoyable read that doesn't drag, and as a bonus, actually makes you smarter. Smarter with random facts, but you never know when those will come in handy.

This is a great book for people that don't really like to read, but are willing to try if given the right book. It makes reading enjoyable.

Wow! This is so much fun and even better than I expected. I love to learn random facts and this book is full of information that I didn't even know. The best part were the illustrations. They were so cute and funny, I never wanted to put it down!

These illustrated facts were quite funny and fun to read. The drawn pictures that were paired with each one really put the icing on the cake for me and I thoroughly enjoyed each one.
It was a quick and easy read that would be great for any age!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book Via NetGalley.

A gorgeous gift / coffee table book, I've learned so many facts from reading this and the illustrations and typography are fantastic. A definite winner of a gift for trivia lovers!

I absolutely adore completely useless trivia, my brain is full of it, I like pulling out random facts in those awkward conversation moments when there is just thick silence. It doesn't really do much for the conversation, but now someone else knows some random bit of trivia, maybe one day they will win a trivia game thanks to the little nugget of nonsense I supplied them.

I have often thought it would be awesome if these books of facts had illustrations because some of these snippets of info could be made into hilarious pictures! Luckily someone has done just that, and what a fun book it is. If you like your weird facts to have pictures then read this book, it is fun, cute, and legitimately entertaining!

This book would be a great coffee table/conversation piece addition to a home. It's easy to read a few of the facts whenever you feel like it. The drawings are quirky and fun. The book has a great variety of facts from all different topics. It was fun to read so many random factoids and tidbits. I look forward to more additions...since i'm sure many more facts exist.

This book is jam packed with cool and random illustrated facts about history, science, animals, and every day things. The illustrations are adorable,doodle-type, and relaxing to read. This book is great for hectic days when you just need something to wind down. Perfect for all ages, I definitely recommend this book!

Cute in a way that I wouldn't spend actual money on this, but might recommend someone get it from the library. Might be a good birthday present for a kid you don't know too well.

This is a fun and interesting book. I think it would be better for a younger child than an adult. I would have liked if there were some citations on each page or in the back of the book, or any links for further reading on certain parts. The big problem with books like this is that if you read something you think you've seen debunked other places, you want to know where they got the information so you can compare and determine which is more accurate, but that's impossible without citations or references.

I did have some minor difficulty reading some pages because the format of the text was a bit strange, but it only took a few seconds to figure out.

The artwork was great and really added another dimension to this book, and a few pictures did make me laugh. Overall, if I had a middle-grade or young teen child/relative/friend I would very likely give them this book or recommend it to them. For older friends/family members I think it could make a fun coffee table book as well.

I do not know why I love random facts so much but this book was perfect for me. I love novels but seeing an artists interpretation can be so much better. I enjoyed every moment that I devoured this book and will go back to read more. Having already shared it with a friend, I would definitely recommend it!

I really liked this book! I love to know facts and this one is such an interesting read!
At first, it was a bit difficult to understand the doodles, since I'm not used to it, but I got used to it in no time and there's a bunch of interesting facts in here, some that I already knew but a lot that I have never heard of!

Some examples are:
About Ben Franklins first US coin; the origin of the word prodigy; there's a bunch of animal facts that are really interesting like, polar bears, cockroaches, rabbits, frogs, etc; some very weird facts about food; and so on.
Some of the facts in this books really leave you open mouthed!
It's really well done, both the way the facts are organized and of course the doodles, that were really great and easy to understand. Sometimes even funny and unexpectedly detailed!
I only wished some parts had a bit of extra information...

I really liked this book, and I will much probably buy it because I am sure this is a book I would like to open and read once in a while!
I definitely recommend it if you enjoy some weird and interesting facts!

I really enjoyed this comic. I liked the illustrations, they’re colorful and full of detail, and no two pages were organized the same way, there was no pattern to them. The random facts are so interesting too! I was so inspired to read up on things. Did you know that ancient Chinese emperors used to hide Pekingese dogs in their sleeves as a last line of defense? That sounds so unbelievable! That is the first fact in this collection, and it sets the tone for the rest, they were all equally entertaining. This book is fun, I think everyone can enjoy it.

Fun graphic novel full of fun, sometimes useless facts (Which are always the best). The illustrations were enjoyable, funny, and tied the whole thing together really well. I knew some of the facts, but not all. I always love books like this.

This book was so cute but also very informative. I love books that have facts in them and have read many different books similar to this with random facts. A great part of this book is the illustrations. I know that this author is popular for his illustrated children's books and I can see why from this. His illustrations are often quite funny in this book and are a great addition to the facts within the book. Also just so interesting and weird. Many I had heard before but then there were many that I had never seen before. I think this book a neat little book that may interest many people. I enjoyed my reading of it and am glad that I got the chance to read it.

This book would make a great gift for all ages. It has lots of fun and weird facts which you could probably find elsewhere, but only in this book do they come with cute doodles and illustrations. I would have liked more information about sources for the facts, but I can always Google them.

These doodle-style books are my guilty pleasure reads. I loved Random Illustrated Facts just as much as for example Adulthood Is a Myth or Deep Dark Fears - what's there not to love? My brain is always in need of new trivia (which I often spend hours and hours searching the internet for). Random Illustrated Facts sums up some of the most interesting, mind-blowing and occasionally disturbing fact I could ever ask for.

I absolutely adored this. The illustrations complimented the strange facts and had me looking up stuff and reading more about them.

Informative and entertaining.
