I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of this book via Netgalley.com before it's September release. I devoured it in one setting. Dr. Colbert really breaks down why getting in the "Keto Zone" helps you to lose weight effortlessly. The idea is to have a diet consisting of mostly good fats that your body will in turn burn off. I plan to give this a try and see if I can finally get these stubborn pounds I gained from pregnancies off once and for all. Dr. Colbert's Keto Zone Diet is worth a read for anyone interested in the science behind a high fat/low carb diet or anyone wanting something effective to do for weight loss or other health benefits.

My grandson went on this diet and I wanted to understand how it works. I have read several other books and this one was the most clear and concise. Dr. Colbert explained some things in more detail that were glossed over in the other books. I would recommend this book for anyone wanting a clearer picture of the diet's working and the benefits
I requested and am glad I was approved, a copy of this book from NetGalley.

Dr. Colbert's Keto Zone Diet is a very informative book for anyone who is curious about the new Keto Zone diet phase. It includes a lot of scientific information on why the diet is good for people, especially people who have inflammatory diseases and cancer. The author even goes through the history of diet fads and shows why most Americans have a hard time embracing this "high fat" diet.

Notes about the author/writing style: I enjoyed Dr. Colbert's writing style. Although he is obviously very knowledgeable about dieting and the science behind it, he didn't make his writing style too complicated for those who are not in the medical field.

What I loved about the book: I walked away from this book with a better understanding of this diet that I have been hearing a lot about. I feel like I will be better informed to tell others about this diet as well as making a decision on whether I would like to pursue this diet.

What I disliked about the book: There really wasn't anything that I disliked about this book. It was a good combination of scientific facts, history, and practical ways (even menus and recipes) to incorporate this diet into a lifestyle.

Who should read this book? Anyone who is contemplating going on the Keto diet should read this book. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone with cancer. I had no idea that the typical high carb diet was very detrimental to anyone with cancer as opposed to a diet high in fat (low carbs) that would actually extend the lives of most people with cancer.

My Family Doctor suggested that I go on a Ketosis Diet, another low carb diet, to help with my blood work that showed I was pre-diabetic and the fact that I can not loose weight. Hearing the word ketosis, I was skeptical This book was so easy to understand what the Keto Diet is and how it can benefit your health and why it is so important to go on this diet. I had never heard about MCT Oil before and agree it is needed in the Keto Diet. If you are thinking about trying a ketosis diet, I highly recommend this book.

Excellent book! Easy to understand, easy to follow and makes nutritional sense. Dr. Colbert is a trusted resource for health & nutrition. I know his books will guide his readers to make the smartest & wisest choices for those seeking direction about what to eat and why.

Interesting concepts. I am just becoming interested in learning more about a Keto diet, sounds quite a bit like the Atkins diet of old. Seems like there are tried and true results, not really sure if I believe the cancer fighting abilities of a Keto diet, but hopefully will not need to find out.
Sounds like something I may incorporate in the future.

Lots of good information. I like the fact that the author said that diet information is always changing and that in 10 years half of what we know now will be proven wrong. With that in mind it is a fact that a high protein diet is the healthiest because the results have been around a long time. This book refers to Dr Atkins a lot as the Keto diet is basically the same but with more modern information. I think one of the most important things written in this book is that sugar is sugar. Your body doesn't know the difference. We are sucked in by advertising that says no high fructose corn syrup etc, but metabolically its the same as any another type of sugar. We need to eat food in its freshest most natural state, and avoid all processed and genetically altered foods.
