I received this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is book 3 in the Brotherhood of the Sword series. In this one we get Viscount Jason and Isabel’s story. This overlaps a little bit with book 2 which is not my favorite thing that happens in books. I just hate rereading things. Other than that I did enjoy seeing Isabel get her HEA.

Another great book of The Brotherhood of the Sword series. Isabel has lived at a home for girls as long as she can remember. She is being taken care of by an uncle she doesn't know. One day, she is taken away by her late uncle's widow. Someone tries to kidnap her before she can get into the carriage. But, why? She is taken to the home of Jason, Viscount Ellis. He is a member of the Sword and will protect her with his life. Isabel is a Princess which puts her in danger. Isabel and Jason marry for her protection, but will love follow? Keeping Isabel safe is the most important thing. Jason has secrets that may cause him to never be able to give all all himself. I love this series. Isabel and Jason are great characters with strong chemistry between them. I received this book from Net Galley and Entangled Publishing for a honest review. The opinions expressed are my own.

I really enjoyed Jason and Isabel's story! I always love when a marriage of convenience turns into true love. Of course there were many bumps along the road to get there. This was a great addition to the Brotherhood of the Sword series!

Jason and Isabel are thrown together unexpectedly and forced to marry to keep her safe. Sparks fly from the minute they meet but Jason is determined to resist. Eventually he is forced to recognize the desire between them and accept that they are meant for each other.

The story is fast paced and the plot is seamless. The characters are well developed and full bodied. A well done job.

Publisher's Description:

When a fellow member of the Brotherhood of the Sword drops off a mysterious lady in need of protection at the house of Viscount Jason Ellis, he agrees to keep her safe not fully knowing what that will entail. Once Isabel Crisp learns the truth of her identity, that she’s the last remaining member of the royal family from the island nation of Saldania, her world is tipped upside down.

A plot to usurp the throne from Victoria after a marriage comes to light. Isabel realizes rather quickly that if she were already married the men would not succeed with their plan. Jason reluctantly agrees to marry her, but in name only as he’s bound to learn the title to his brother’s son, the rightful heir. But keeping his hands off his tempting and willing wife proves too difficult and the passion between them ignites.

My Thoughts:

This is the second book I have read in this series and the second book I have read by this author.
I must admit that I didn't like the first book I read, but found this one more enjoyable. The first thing that attracted my attention was the lovely cover. The title description also attracted my attention. I did recognize some characters from the previous read and it is important as I feel you need to have read at least part of this series to get the most out of this book. It does however read OK as a standalone.

Jason holds the title of Viscount but was actually fathered by someone other than the prior Viscount.
Knowing this has made him take a different path than most young noblemen.
He intends not to marry or sire any children that may succeed him to the title.

Isabel is a lost princess but thinks she is likely the illegitimate daughter of a nobleman. She has been hidden away in a girl's school until this time.

When she lands in Jason's care they decide that the best solution to keeping her safe is for her to marry. It seems the best choice for her groom is the very man who is now responsible for keeping her safe.

Will this unusual marriage lead to love or will they part ways after the people plotting the queen's demise are caught.

This unusual storyline held my interest. I gave the storyline and character development 4.25 of 5 stars and a sensual rating of 3.75 of 5 flames.
This couple are very attracted to each other and act on this attraction but not immediately.
There are two physical encounters, one of which is heavy petting with nudity and one where their marriage is consummated.
I received a complimentary digital ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley to read. This in no way affected my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

The book starts off with a really interesting plot and there is action right from the first chapter. Viscount Ellis is asked by his friend to protect Isabel Crisp. The book is filled with adventure and intrigue with well written characters. The story kept me enthralled until the end. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and really like both Jason and Isabel's characters.

Isabel’s only family was her uncle Thornton who had kept her in school. At Saint Bartholomew's School For Girls and he was too busy to have isabel come home even on holidays. Now he was dead and Lilith her aunt by marriage was to come for her but before she can someone tries to take her. Gabriel was there and suggested she stay with his friend Jason Ellis who is a fellow member of the brotherhood Of The Sword and could keep her safe. Then they could into who is trying to take Later they learn Isabel is the last royal family member from the island nation of Saldania. To keep Isabel safe Jason agrees to marry Isabel in name only. Jason learned early in his youth he was a bastard and his father was the stable manager. So viscount Jason planned never to have his own kids and let his nephew inherit the title. But Jason and Isabel have a growing attraction. Isabel was to be used in a plot to usurp the throne from Victoria that is why someone os trying to take her. That was when Isabel realized the easiest way to stop the problem was to marry and Jason agreed..
I just couldn’t get into this book. I did finish it but i didn’t really care for it. I felt the ending was rushed. The plot seemed to be all over the place and not consistent as far as I am concerned. I also didn’t connect with the characters. I am sure someone else will like this book a lot more. It just wasn’t for me.

With this story I believe we’ve come to an end of the Brotherhood of the Sword series and what a great ending it was. I really enjoyed the plots and premise of this series.

In this story we reacquaint ourselves with Viscount Jason Ellis who we’ve met in ‘Undercover with the Earl’. It took me awhile to warm up to his character, but he grew on me and in the end I thought he was a true hero.

The heroine, Isabel Crisp, was likeable from the start. She was smart and relatable. Their marriage of convenience story was fun to follow, but I had so much fun reading all the twists and turns behind the plot to overthrow Queen Victoria from her throne. I am a huge fan of the PBS’s Victoria series and having seen the people around her as she takes her rightful place as England’s Queen, I really enjoyed all the “behind the scene” struggles and tension among her court and her people.

This series was well written, clever and a whole lot of fun to read. Ms. DeHart continues to delight me with her stories. I highly recommend all the books in this series.

Thanks Entangled Publishing, LLC and netgalley for this ARC

I loved the awakening spirit of this princess in hiding. Danger, intrigue, passion, suspicion and surrender don't cover half of the great quality s in this romance.

Jason and Isabel are great characters. Their marriage of convenience starts as a way to protect Isabel but Doon turns into something more. The plot is good and kept me involved to the end. Enjoyed.

Cute sweet quick romantic read. Isabel Crisp has lived her life at the mercy of her uncle's charity. Hoping perhaps to seek employment as a governess, she is surprised when she is nearly abducted from her boarding school. Put into the protection of Viscount Jason Ellis, Isabel learns that she is the sole survivor of a royal family, and that there is a plot to use her to usurp the throne from Queen Victoria. The only way to keep Isabel safe is to marry her off, and Jason is the perfect candidate. The only problem is that although Jason begins to have feelings for Isabel and she for him, he is haunted by a secret from his past that keeps him from embracing his new wife.

Unfulfilled promise___2.5 stars

The characters of Viscount Jason Ellis and Isabel Crisp have strong promise. Ellis we had met in 'Undercover with the Earl.' I found the potential for an excellent story with the added twist of powers vying for Victoria's throne was somewhat undeveloped. But I must recognize that this novel only runs to fifteen chapters.
If you haven't seen the series built around the young Victoria then you maybe won't realize the tensions around her becoming queen. To use the back room struggles when Victoria ascends to the throne is clever. Whilst acknowledging this with the limited plot development, DeHart could have built so much more on that historical fact, and given us more substance and fulfilled the inherent promise. Rather we were caught up in the laboured push and pull of to consummate or not.
Still this continues the Brotherhood plots and the series is based on an interesting premise.

Isabel Crisp spends all of the year at the St Bartholomew’s School for girls not knowing who she really is, a princess who was kidnapped and her life spared while her parent were executed. Her Aunt knows Isabel is in need of protection so she tears her from her bed in the middle of the nigh and takes her to the house of Viscount Jason Ellis, a fellow member of the Brotherhood of the Sword. Once Isabel Crisp learns the truth of her identity she is the last remaining member of the royal family from the island nation of Saldania, her world is tipped upside down. Her life is in danger and she soon realizes that if she were already married the men’s plan would fail, so reluctantly Jason agree to a marriage of convenience to protect Isabel. Jason and Isabel are instantly attracted to each other, can Jason continue keeping his hands off his tempting and willing wife or will it prove too difficult when the passion between them ignites their desires. I voluntarily read this book and this is my honest review.

Isabel is dropped off at Viscount Jason Ellis’ home to keep her safe and the only way to do that is for her to marry. Jason never planned to marry and agrees to marry her in name only however as they spend more time together will they be able to deny the chemistry they share? This is a fast-paced read with an entertaining story and great characters. I really liked it.

Rated 3.5!

I am usually a big fan of author Robyn DeHart's novels, but her latest addition in her BROTHERHOOD OF THE SWORD series, just fell flat for me. ELOPING WITH THE PRINCESS sounded great from the blurb, but once I cracked it open, I found I had a hard time connecting to the characters and the story. It was just tacking something, in my opinion. I hope Ms. DeHart's next book will pick things back up though.

'Eloping with the Princess' by Robyn DeHart is book three in the "Brotherhood of the Sword" series. This is the story of Viscount Jason Ellis and Isabel Crisp. I have read the other book but this book can be a standalone book. In the previous book we meet Lilith Crisp, Lady Thornton and Gabriel Campbell, Duke of Lynford. Lilith is Isabel's aunt my marriage who was also kept on a stronghold by Isabel's Uncle Thornton. Isabel's only had her Uncle to be her family and he always kept her in school and she had to call him by his title. Now he has past and Lilith has come to take her away from school but not before someone tries to take her. Luckily Gabriel was there and suggested that she stay with his friend Jason Ellis. Jason is a fellow member of the Brotherhood of the Sword, and could keep her safe while they look into who is trying to take her. Its later learned that Isabel is the last royal family member from the island nation of Saldania. To keep her safe Jason agrees to marry Isabel but since he learned early in his youth that he is actually a bastard and his father was the stable master. With that in mind, Jason planned on never having children so his nephew would inherit the Title. So Jason only agrees to a 'Name Only' marriage with Isabel. But it hard to fight their growing attraction!

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review. The intrigue and the suspense story of Isabel and Jason is well written and a good read. Someone is trying to kidnap Isabel and she has been left in Jadon's care to protect her. He deems the best way to protect her is to marry her. For personal reasons he does not consummate the marriage even though he is drawn to her. Isabel is a strong willed young lady who wants to have a real marriage with Jason. Events happens and Jason comes to love her and decides he wants a family. I would recommend this book. This books has made me want to read Dehart's other books.
