Jason, you are a right bastard in more ways than one but I loved you. I really liked Isabel also. She was vulnerable and strong (especially in her determination to help and to make her marriage work). I think to really enjoy this story you need to read the others in the series. They set the background and this book sort of overlaps with the previous book. Ms. DeHart’s books are easy reads with lovely characters and good intrigue. I would love to see more of the “Brotherhood of the Sword” stories.

I received this book via NetGalley.com

The story of Jason and Isabelle is a marriage of convenience. Isabelle is the center of a plot that could destroy the nation. Yet Isabelle doesn't even know who she is, a princess who was kidnapped and spared her life while her parent were executed. Years later she is torn from her bed in the middle of the night by her aunt. When someone tries to grab her, her aunt takes her to a safe house. But when that places doesn't become safe she is on the run with her protector Jason. Once they find out the plan they agree to a marriage of convenience. Will this protect her or put her in more harm?

I loved Isabelle's spunk. She isn't your typical princess. I loathed the way she was treated by whom she thought were her family members. Jason's protective streak leaps off the pages. He is all alpha but at times I wanted to just shake him because he couldn't see what was in front of his own eyes.

The chemistry is spot on. The dialogue flows nicely, and the storyline keeps ahold of the reader.

Lord Ellis has been given the assignment to protect an unknown Princess, who is being threatened, and until they know by whom, he is her guard. Isabel, raised in a horrible school, more known as for the illigitimate issue of the Aristocracy, does not know that she is a Princess, and a threat to young Queen Victoria, who has already had one attempt on her life, now she has unknown persons who want her off the Throne. Great light read, good romance, interesting precept! I highly recommend! Thanks! Enjoy!

Robyn DeHart has written an unconventional and exciting historical romance set in Victorian London, filled with intrigue, murder and a long lost princess.
I adore historical romances with a mystery thrown in. And I particularly love it when the characters are agents of the Crown. I love how the action takes place not in a ballroom but across the streets of London where the hero and heroine match their wits with villains who are up to no good. This story fit the bill perfectly.
I enjoyed Jason as a hero. According to Isabel and also the villian of the story, he's exceptionally handsome. Aside from being gorgeous, he's also a good man. A little too weighed down by guilt of his own making, added to a large sprinkling of pride which puts him in a difficult situation of his own making with Isabel. Still, he's honorable, protective and trying to do the right thing the whole time he's resisting the attractions of Isabel.
Isabel stole the show of this story for me. She's bright, brave and strong, but at the same time, I do not think I have ever encountered a more unassuming and modest heroine. She is genuinely unaware of her own allure and worth, and that makes her all the more special. I loved how open she was to Jason and how giving she was too, and ultimately, forgiving, because, well, Jason was a silly, pigheaded male.
This was an effortless read in spite of a few minor plot inconsistencies (which did not diminish the reading experience). Enjoyable and entertaining. I'm glad I picked up this book to read because I had forgotten what a superb writer Ms DeHart is. I truly enjoy her historical romances.
Eloping With The Princess is the third of the Brotherhood of the Sword series. While I jumped into this cold and having not read the first too books, this story stands well on its own, even with frequent mentions and appearances of characters from the other books. Of course, now that I've read this story, I want to go back and read Evie and Lilith's stories too and see how they find love with these men who serve Crown and country.

It was a very fast read. Isabel is a princess who was hidden away. Ellis marries her to save the monarchy. This book is in the brotherhood series. I can't wait to read other books in this series.

The sins of the parents should not define who the child becomes

When two lost souls find one another there is magic to be had and joy to share. This is the case with Viscount Jason Ellis and Isabel Crips. Jason sees himself as damaged goods, while Isabel has been treated like her worth is not even visible. For some reason after years of obscurity Isabel has someone attempt to do her harm and Jason is a Brotherhood of the Sword member who answers the call to help when asked to keep Isabel safe.

However his idea for safety and hers seem to be at opposite ends of the spectrum and before Jason realizes the depth of his commitment he finds himself married to a woman who turns out is a Princess. Isabel never knew her background and the supposed uncle that was her guardian sent her away to live a life in a place no one wanted to visit let alone be educated. So finding herself now a Princess and a Viscountess Isabel learns quickly that keeping safe is not as easy as staying out of sight. Isabel made the plan to marry Jason and have her problems disappear, but that did not happen and now she faces a daunting one. She is not only ensnared in an overpowering attraction to Jason but suffers from a lack of training on how to make everyone think they are a love match as well as show she has the qualities expected of a Viscount’s wife. With the help of Jason and his family Isabel quickly becomes the belle of the ball and turns heads including Jason’s with her beauty and wit. Jason never expected to fall in love with the woman he swore to protect but as he learned early in life, nothing is what it appears, and you have to be adaptable even to love.

When the evil forces that are determined to find Isabel and use her status to control governments, and manipulate politics escalates it is Isabel that proves what the true meaning of being a Princess should be. Isabel was always one to keep up with physical duties her entire life and now that she has been training with Jason there are few questions asked when she shows just who the strong one in the room is. Isabel will not let anyone hurt her husband, harm those she loves, or stop her from having the life she desires with all of her heart. Love can win and a strong woman will never be set to the side and ignored.

When a story requires perfect character development, outstanding dialog, and sizzling romance always look for a Robyn Dehart book it never disappoints and always leaves you wanting another one to read.

3.5 stars
Isabel Crisp spends all of the year at the St Bartholomew’s School for girls her uncle Lord Thornton pays her fees. However early one morning her aunt Lady Lilith Thornton arrives to collect her, as they leave the school a man tries to grab Isabel luckily Lilith’s companion Gabe Duke of Lynford pushes the assailant. They take Isabel to the home of Viscount Jason Ellis, a fellow member of the Brotherhood of the Sword he agrees to keep her safe not fully knowing what that will entail. Once Isabel Crisp learns the truth of her identity, that she’s the last remaining member of the royal family from the island nation of Saldania, her world is tipped upside down. A plot to usurp the throne from Victoria comes to light. Isabel realizes rather quickly that if she were already married the men would not succeed with their plan. Jason reluctantly agrees to marry her, but in name only as he’s bound to learn the title to his brother’s son, the rightful heir. Jason learned years ago that he’s actually the son of the estate’s horse master.
This is the first book I’ve read by the author & I enjoyed it. There are well developed characters who are likeable. The plot is well paced & keeps you turning the pages even though the plot is implausible but it’s fiction so I was able to go with the plot. The one thing I did find difficult was being able to travel from London to Gretna Green in under two days. The attraction between Jason & Isabel is there from the start & she doesn’t understand why he distances himself from her. Jason has been decided on his course but eventually his mother & brother make him realise what that course should be. I did find the ending a little rushed & would have liked the denouement to have been longer & more detailed. This is the third in the series & could well be read as a stand alone book. I’ll certainly be reading more from the author
