Sweet and short story of second chances.
Carrie is a single mom working at Historic Liberty Hotel. She is working late one night and she never thought she would check in rock star who happens to be her first love. Carrie and Rock Star Shawn were madly in love until he went to pursue his career over love. She never forgotten him and he is father of her child. She never wanted to entrap him with child so she never told him about Brent. Until Brent was talking to Shawn at her hotel lobby.
Shawn never thought he would see Carrie again. She was his biggest mistake and when he saw her, he wanted to talk to her. But their conversation was stale at best but when he was looking at her child, he felt she betrayed him until he finds out he is his child.
Brent is overjoyed to find famous rock star is his dad and he wants to spend more time with him. Now Carrie and Shawn will have to share time with Brent. Carrie worries he won't stay long enough to be stable father for Brent and she feels she is losing her son to him.
They will have to find their way to co parent or give each other a second chance.
It is sweet. I wish it was a bit more .

2.5 out of 5 stars, when Shawn, a rock star, unexpectedly meets up with his high school sweetheart, Carrie, he realizes that when he went after his dreams he shouldn't have given her up too. But when Carrie's secrets come out Shawn learns that he has more to make up for than originally planned.

Let me get straight to the point ... it was cuter than cute but I wasn't a fan of how the plot was laid out. It just didn't mesh, which is sad because the characters seemed great! Plus, it didn't hurt that the "surprise" ending put a smile on my face.

I'd recommend this only to those looking for a sticky sweet contemporary holiday romance that is a quick read too.

Carrie worked at the Historic Liberty Hotel. Carrie had a six year old son named Brent . The day after HS graduation Brent’s father Shawn told Carrie if she really loved him she would let him go explore his dream of making it big in the world of rock and roll. Carrie had let Shawn go even though she still loved him. Six weeks later Carrie found out she was pregnant and kept it to herself. Shawn had made it big his first record went platinum on their son Brent’s birthday. It had been six years and Shawn had never come back. Then Carrie found out the VIP guest at the hotel was actually Shawn but he wasn’t alone. Shawn had agreed to help Tansy as a favor to her publicist but Tansy was living up to her name Hansy Tansy and Shawn couldn’t take the groping anymore. He needed a break. Shawn had the same feeling that haunted him every time he went home and crossed the GA border - carrie Abbott- . Then Shawn recognized Carrie but she acted like he was just another guest. Carrie’s roommate was Connor and Carrie had Connor bring Brent to the hotel as she still had a lot to do for work. Tansy pointed out Carrie’s child maybe Shawns and when Shawn confronts Carrie she admits that Brent us his son.
This was a great novella. A great short second romance story and I loved it. I read it in one sitting. It was short but wasn’t missing anything. I only wish it had been longer. It made me smile at times and choke up at times. I loved the ending. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend.

This was a cute read I love books that have a baby involved. but I was not a big fan of her not telling the father.
I really enjoyed reading this book.
I wish it was not so short, I would have enjoyed reading it full lenght.

A quick and merry read! I wanted to save this one to read by the Christmas tree, but I was too excited about it! I think that it will definitely get a re-read though, when the season is right.

This was a nice read but too short and rushed in my opinion. I also really didn't get the holiday feel that much which was a little disappointing. The storyline was predictable but it was still a pleasant way to pass the evening reading.

Cute and very short story. I enjoyed this story, but I wish it would have been longer. Carrie is a single mom trying to right by her son and Shawn is a rocker, oblivious that he has a 6 year old son with his ex girlfriend. I would have enjoyed some more back story or something to bring depth to the charaters.

I liked the premise of this book a lot, but there was just no character development at all. It was also lacking basic story. Why was he in town anyway? Why would he quit being a rock star to be with her? She got accidentally pregnant by him twice? If it was such a small town, how did she keep her kid a secret from his family?

Such a great story! I'm a sucker for rock star romance stories and this one is probably one of my favourite ones I have read. If you're looking for a fun fluffy read then this is the one for you!

This book was the sweetest book. It's about a woman that had a past with a famous person, and when they found each other surprise after surprise happened. Loved it

This was a fun fast read. The characters were very captivating. The story good. The writing good. A few wrong words here and there, but not bad enough to stop reading. I will be looking for this author again.

A clean romance and quick read. Honestly, it was a bit formulaic for me.

A cute short story with happily ever after and a nice holiday theme. It was a very quick read so I felt like the issues resolved a little too quickly and superficially.

this was a fast uninteresting read. not enough cohesion.

A greatly enjoyable and sweet story, Merry Christmas Baby would be perfect for those who are looking for a cute and short holiday romance to read.

Being past lovers the book basically revolves around how the main characters, Carrie and Shawn found each other again after Shawn left to pursue his dreams of being a rockstar, not knowing that Carrie is holding a secret of her own.

I do realise that sometimes writing short stories can be a challenge for authors to be able to fully develop their characters and their plots, but fortunately Marie Cole presents her protagonists quite well considering the length of this book. Although, I was a tad dissatisfied about the latter. At some point the plot had felt quite a bit rushed. I would definitely love to see more about how they got from awkward exes to actually being "together" again and how they got over their fear and worry about each other's careers getting in the way at the end. But otherwise, I would still recommend this book.

A likable short book with romantic struggles that come to a good outcome. I think it would have been even better if it had been a bit deeper, maybe even a full length book. But still it was a nice, quick read.
I liked the main characters but I also just have to add this. Please forgive me for just one snarky comment. I thought it as I was reading the book. " Didn't these two ever hear of birth control?"

***This review contains SPOILERS***

Merry Christmas, Baby is stand alone story that features some sizzle but no on-screen sex and no f-words if those things make you stop reading a story.

This was a cute, short read that is both a second chance romance and a secret baby story. I don't usually seek out stories where the female character has a baby and doesn't tell the father, but I am glad that I read this one because I really liked both Carrie and Shawn. I enjoyed the story enough that I would gladly have read this story fully fleshed out as a full-length book.

I requested and was generously granted a copy of this novella via NetGalley and was under no obligation to write this review.
