I was looking forward to read about Dallas. I liked him so much in the previous book but all I can say is Meh!
(insert a frustrated imoji here)
Callie drove me up a wall and annoyed the hell out of me.
Full review to come close to release day.

A good light read, with a typical sports man storyline. Good fun but predictable!
Looking forward to reading the next book.

This book was very enjoyable. There was a perfect of mix of Hockey and their life. I loved that she had a personal life all her own and not worried about how she was gonna pay her bills or where to live. The set up for the next book (fingers crossed) with Maddox and Lacey was awesome. I can not wait until it comes out. The only part that was hard for me at the beginning was the introduction of too many people all at once. I found myself flipping back trying to figure out exactly what and who they were in regards to the story.

Would love to read something by this author again! The story was well thought out and the characters were very likable!

I was given an arc from NetGalley in exchange for an honest and independent review.
Another fun and sassy romantic story from LP Dover with an extremely hot hockey player Dallas, a true bad boy in every sense. I really enjoyed the way he pursued Callie romantically and the way she held him off, something quite clearly he was not used to.
Although the storyline is fairly formulaic, with a predictable ending, I enjoyed reading it. Pure escapism, steamy and sweet and a quick easy read.
3.5***

I loved this book. This was the second book I have read from L.P. Dover. The more I read of her books the more I fall in love with her stories.

Blocked was a sweet story and had more hockey than the first book in the series.
Dallas is a NHL goalie and a player. Callie is an ER nurse and the sister of one of Dallas's teammates, Justin. Justin and Dallas do not get along.

Callie doesn't trust or like Dallas, but Dallas is determined for the first time to make Callie seem him differently. Will Dallas's player past come back to haunt them? Will Callie be able to overcome the rumours and tabliods?

I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Wow I love Logan. He is one confident take no prisoners kind of guy. He sees what he wants and goes for it. Callie is one feisty fun loving loyal women. She stands up for what she believes in. They make for one feisty explosive couple. Could not wait to see where the story would go. A must read.

The characters were very immature in this book. It was hard to really get into this story and look past the pettiness and immaturity.

I absolutely loved this book! Hockey romance is my favorite and this book went well above my expectations! Dallas is known to be a player both on and off of the ice. Usually he is pretty happy with his carefree sex life until he meets Callie. He's meets Callow, a nurse, after he gets hit in the head at a party. Callie's brother plays hockey so she's not shocked by Dallas nor is she falling for his charms. Dallas is enamoured and is willing to take part in the shenanigans Callie has him doing just to get a chance with her. Dallas and Callie's relationship starts to grow but secrets and second guessing threaten their happiness. This story is sweet, sexy, and funny! It's well written and I highly recommend it! I hope that the author writes more books in this series!

This is the first book I have read by LP Dover and even though I started with second in the Breakaway series, I didn’t feel left behind (I am going back to read the first one). The characters were believable. Hockey player Dallas Easton who happens to be the goaltender is your typical bad boy who has all the women he wants. What he didn’t count on was wanting the one woman he can’t have. Callie Davis’ brother plays on the same team and does not like Dallas – at all. But Dallas is not one to let things go and Callie isn’t making it easy on him.
Great book and can’t wait for the rest of the series.

This is Book # 2, in the Breakaway series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader enjoyment and understanding, I recommend reading this series in order.

Dallas is a Goal Tender for a hockey team. He is also a hothead. He is having a hard time adjusting to having to teach someone to be his backup. Dallas is also incredibly attracted to Callie.

Callie is a nurse, who cannot seem to find a good man. Her brother plays on the same team with Dallas. He wants her to stay away from hockey players. If only she could. For some reason she is drawn to him.

This was an amazingly hot and sexy book! Has lots of heat in many other ways too. The characters just mesh so well. I love this Breakaway series and I hope we get more stories.

Another winner from LP Dover!! I so love this series, I can't get enough of these hockey players.
I love most sport romances that I read but this series has been top-notch so far.
LP Dover has completely sucked me in and I can't wait for the next in this series to be released.
Thanks NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

I've not read that many books by this author and I'm asking myself why the hell not you silly woman. If you love your hockey romances as I do then go get this book as you won't be sorry I promise you that. I just totally loved everything about this book and I can't point out anything I would want or need to change at all. It's one of those books you just have to go back to and I have put this on my re-list of books to read again. Also will be keeping a close eye out for more books by this author. What you waiting for go get this book. Would recommend

DNF @ 76%

The big misunderstanding came and I didn't care what happened :/

Dallas is a handful. He'll need a strong woman to be his mate. Callie has older hockey brothers and she meets Dallas in an unusual way. He spends much of the book making it up to her. Good times.

I couldn't get behind Callie at all which completely ruined the book for me. I get that Dallas was a player, but I don't think that gave her the right to "test" him by humiliating over and over again. He didn't cheat on her, didn't try to promise her anything he couldn't deliver...in fact all he wanted to do was apologize for a misunderstanding. Yet she treats him like he is so far beneath her.

I always enjoy Hockey books, I love these Alpha men. I have to say, that at the beginning, I was not liking Dallas, he was looking sleazy, which kind of surprised me, because I didn;t remember him being like that in the last book, but anyway he did redeem himself. Dallas Easton is a bad boy of hockey, and proud of it, but he has a pretty bad temper, and unfortunately that is one of the many bad impression that he gives Callie. First impression, pretty bad, and I wont tell you, so that you can read it, second one, he almost comes to blows with her when he thinks it is some guy beating him in hockey, until she takes the mask off, and he instantly feels regret. Dallas goes full on force trying to apologize to Callie, he truly is remorseful, and she is wary due to his reputation, and the fact that her brothers truly detest him. She finally gives him a chance, and everything is going great, they are both falling deeper and deeper, and then he was sabotaged and everyone is heartbroken, until the truth comes out, and the grand gesture.. I loved reading about Kellan and Kristan, and what they were up to, and imagine that Maddox story with Lacey comes next.

Another one that was a struggle for me. It's not the authors writing exactly, rather how she develops her male characters "bad boy" image. I honestly completely disliked the male character. By the third chapter, he failed as a captain, he lacked self control and acted like a self entitled jerk during a practice. While I liked the female character I couldn't get past the fact she liked him.. all of this of course is personal preference. Loads of people will read the book and find him the end all be all.

Fun read that I finished within hours. I liked reading about familiar characters, the tension between the main characters and her making him work for her attention for more than 5 minutes.

This was the first L.P. Dover book I've read and while it had its great parts, there was just a lot in this book that I think actually took away my enjoyment of this book.

Dallas is a hockey player, and a pretty good one at that. He's incredibly cocky, a manwhore and apparently has anger management issues. He's at a party one night and tries to have sex with someone else's girlfriend (but he didn't know at the time). He gets hit in the head with a bottle, pummels the guy and passes out, but not before he sees an 'angel' taking care of him.

That angel turns out to be Callie, the sister of one of his teammates. Callie is a nurse and living with her overprotective brothers in this new town. Dallas has a case of insta-lust it seems for Callie, but she refuses to date him. She knows all about his ways and how he likes to get around. So Dallas sets out to woo her.

Now, there were two things that made me dislike this book from the start. The first chapter being one of those when we get a glimpse into the psyche of Dallas. I mean the guy was arrogant and a womanizer, no doubt about it. That didn't do anything to make me like him. The second thing was Callie's 'testing' of Dallas. I mean come on girl, grow up and quit making the guy do ridiculous things to prove he wants you (like make him wear a bikini to practice). How childish was that? I just didn't get it and found the behavior something I'd expect from a teenager, not a 26 year old nurse.

I didn't find the author's writing style to be the best. When Dallas' chapters were written, it was as though he was written to speak like a teen who still spoke in basic choppy sentences. It just made him seem like he was lacking intelligence. I don't know if this was intentional or just the author's style since I've never read another L.P. Dover book before.

So what parts did I like? I loved Dallas' grand gestures - they were incredibly sweet and honest. I actually grew to love him by the end of the book. Now, was his transition from manwhore to committed finance believable? Not really, but that's why this is fiction. I loved that it took place in NC - being as I'm a born and bred North Carolinian, I appreciated the references to spots I knew.

Even though I live just 15 mins away from where our NHL team plays, I've never been to a game, so I can take or leave hockey romances, but do enjoy some series that revolve around them. This had no bearing on my rating of the book though, I simply reviewed it as another romance novel.

I actually look forward to reading Maddox & Lacey's story next (I hope it's next). Their story was more intriguing than this one it seemed and I can't wait to see what happens when the truth comes out.
