I received this ARC copy of this book from NetGallery for an honest review of the second book of the Sequoia Lake series. I didn't read book one but that did not matter it was a stand one novel. The book was well written and worth the wait. The storyline between widower name Olivia "Liv" and Ford started where they meet when she was fixing her sons stuffed toy.

Thank you to Netgalley for this ARC. I love Marina Adair's style and this book was no exception. This is the second book in this new series and I just fell in love with it while reading. This was a beautifully written, wonderful and sweet love story about Olivia (Liv) Preston an ER nurse and widow with a 6 year old son, Paxton, who survived the accident that killed her husband. Pax has been extremely introverted since that event as one could expect. Ford Jamison is a sexy K9 tracker for a Search & Rescue team in Reno but he is assigned a fluff job in Sequoia Lake because he missed an important certification while he was out on a rescue that he did on his own.
Ford's dog Bullseye and young Paxton steal the show at times in the best of ways!! I loved these parts I much!!
Liv and Ford's relationship blossoms but Ford has been keeping a very important secret from Olivia. Is their love strong enough to weather the storm that is sure to come when his secret gets out?
This is a 5 star must read for Marina Adair fans and contemporary romance fans everywhere!!

If you are looking for a small town romance full of humor, flirtation and fun, you can’t go wrong with a Marina Adair book. She has found her niche, and every book I’ve encountered by her has been a solid four star read. Every Little Kiss, the second in her Sequoia Lake series, is no exception. Even though it’s part of a series, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone.
Olivia Preston’s world fell apart two years ago when her husband and son were in a car accident. Her son survived; her husband did not. Picking up the pieces and forging ahead with life as a single mom hasn’t been easy, but Liv has done it. Her little boy is at the top of her priority list, and making sure he is happy, healthy and loved is what she lives for. Her newfound peace is disturbed – in a good way – when Ford Jamison moves in just down the lake from her.
Ford is a K-9 search and rescue leader from Reno. Originally from Sequoia Lake, he returns to his former home to get his head on straight and pass his final certification so he can be reinstated at his job. The close proximity to the pretty widow is not coincidence. Ford chose to return to Sequoia Lake, and moved in next to Liv, to fulfill a promise he made to a dying man two years prior. He has watched over Liv and her son from afar, anonymously providing gifts and other things to help make their lives a little bit happier. He has no intention of coming clean with her, he just wants to make sure Liv is finally doing ok so he can put the past to rest.
What Ford doesn’t count on is the sparks that fly between himself and Liv. She is everything that he admires in a woman, and her devotion to her son is something a man with small town roots like himself can appreciate. Even as they explore their mutual attraction, they both hold back. Liv knows that Ford’s stay in Sequoia Lake is temporary, and she can already see that she’s in danger of giving her heart to someone who won’t stick around. Ford’s secret of how his life has been intertwined with Liv’s is something he had every intention of revealing…. At the right time. Unfortunately things move too far and too fast between them, and before he knows it, opening up to Liv will cause more hurt than anything.
I really loved Ford as a hero. He was strong and caring, sexy and adventurous, but also very vulnerable. This wasn’t a man who closed himself off. He lived life like every other adrenaline junkie – full steam ahead. He followed his passion for Liv because he couldn’t help it, and soon loving her and her son overshadowed the fear he had about coming clean with her. Liv was a tougher nut to crack. She was a little one dimensional and I didn’t love her like I have some other of Marina Adair’s heroines, but the romance between her and Ford was sweet, emotional and believable.

This was heartbreakingly good. First responders are heroes. What happens when they feel too much and make promises. How does a family recover from tragedy? I read this one without stopping. so darn good.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The characters were well developed. Ms. Adair is very adept at creating characters that are well developed and likeable. You really feel like you a part of the community when reading this story. It is nice to find a book that you read until you finish because you are so enthralled with the story and characters! I have read several of her books and have to say this one is one of my favorite books! I definitely think it is a book many will enjoy! I literally started reading in the early afternoon and finished that night!

“I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review.”

I fell in love with the little town of Sequoia Lake in the first book of the series It Started With a Kiss and the author didn't disappoint when taking me back there with this fantastic story. I love this author's writing style. Her descriptive words take us on a wonderful journey as Liv Preston and her young son Paxton put the pieces of their lives back together.

After losing her husband and nearly losing her son, Liv knows how important it is to take everything one day at a time. Getting her son whole and happy again is her first priority. A distraction in the form of a rugged search and rescue officer was never part of the plan.

Ford Jamison is looking for redemption after a rescue operation goes bad. Sure he may have saved a little boy but the fact that he could save the father too eats at him. Now not only living in the same town as the man's widow but getting closer to her and her son everyday has him reeling. Ford is attracted to Liv but he knows the secrets he keeps will tear them apart.

A fantastic book that needs to be on everyone's must read list. I highly recommend it.

This is the second book in the Sequoia Lake series and a stand along novel. Liv Preston and her six-year son deserve some happiness again after a heartbreaking two years grieving the death of her husband and his father. She just didn’t expect to find it in the big, rugged, younger guy next door.

As head of Reno’s K-9 search division, Ford Jamison knows what it takes to make life-and-death decisions while under stress. He doesn’t hesitate and has never doubted his instincts—until he makes a promise to a dying ding man that turns his and Liv’s world upside down.
This is a nice read with well-developed characters navigating tough emotional issues without overly contrived drama.

Ford Jamison is head of Reno’s K-9 search division. His job is rescue and to keep his head clear, he was advised when he first started to not get attached and walk away once the rescue is done. That is what his father did to him and his mother. However, he is still haunted by a rescue two years ago, when a renowned surgeon, Sam Preston and his son Paxton were driving home on Christmas Day when there was a car accident and a winter storm hit. With his dog Bulleye, Sam found them in a cave, but the team was only able to get Paxton out first. While Ford and Sam waited in the cave, Ford promised Sam that he would tell his wife, Liv how much he loved her. When he misses a certification, he is sent to Sequoia Lake, where the widow and her son have relocated. In the past two years, he has been keeping an eye on them from a distance, but now that they are in the same town, he is drawn to her as much as she is to him. Knowing he is only there for a short time, will Liv allow herself a little fun? Will Ford find that he needs more in his life? Will he tell her that he is the one that rescued her son and was with her husband at the end? Will that end their budding relationship?

I read a free ARC from netgalley.com for an honest review. Like most small town stories, there are interesting residents, especially the older ladies, who add much humor to the town. The characters are developed and real. Except for the idea that anyone would schedule major surgery on Christmas, so is the plot. I did not read the first book in the series, but easily read this one as a stand alone.

Sometimes you read books that while you enjoy them., you probably won’t recall in a few months.
Then you come across a book that touches all your senses and you know you will always remember. That happened with book 1 in this series, and this one was even more heartwarming and touching.
The story is about Liv (Olivia), single Mom , who lost her husband in a car accident in the middle of a snowstorm, Paxton, her son who survived the accident and was rescued by a “superdog” and Ford, head of Reno’s k-9 search division and the man who, unbeknown to Olivia, was the one involved in the accident’s search and rescue.
For 2 years Paxton and Olivia have survived the loss but are not really living life, and for those same years, Ford has been watching over them and is still shaken by the fact that he couldn’t save Sam.
Life puts Ford in Olivia’s path and that’s when the story really gets complicated, but also hopefully.
It’s a story that will make you want to cry, laugh, at times you’ll want to shake the characters, and at others hug them . It’s a story about survival, the support a community can offer, about the love for a son, and about forgiveness, hope and second chances. Life is messy, people are flawed but love is alive and well, if you allow it to touch you.
And as the author says ‘love doesn’t require protection” and with love one finds oneself.
Another winner by this very talent author. Thank you , Ms Adair, for such a wonderful story.
I was gifted this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

This is book two of the Sequoia Lake series and while it stands alone and you don't have to read the first book, you should so that the cameos by other characters are special and make sense. You can enjoy this one without that knowledge, but why would you want to? There is both cursing (including f-bombs) and a couple of on-screen sex scenes in this one so if those bother you, you should skip this one.

I loved the concept of the story line in this one, the way that Ford and Olivia's lives intersected, and how Paxton (and Bullseye) played into the story. The superhero theme was adorable, and Olivia's reliance on sweets was both funny and (sadly for me) quite relatable. Ford was great, even though he was being less than forthcoming with Olivia, his intentions were good and I understood his reasoning. Olivia was...well, she was hard to get a handle on. Despite our mutual love for sweets, I struggled to connect with her because it felt like she was all over the place, but I still found myself rooting like crazy for her to get her happily ever after.

Oddly enough, the character that I fell in love with while reading this book was Harris. Oh my gosh, I loved him and the way that he so unashamedly loved Emma – it was so sweet. I have my fingers crossed that he will be Grace's hero because I NEED to read more about him!

Although this wasn't my favorite Marina Adair book (to be fair, it is because she has set the bar so. darned. high. with her previous novels) it is still a really great read and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes to laugh while reading, who likes a bit of 'forbidden romance', or anyone who likes a sexy, smoldering but flawed hero.

I requested and was generously granted an ARC of this book via NetGalley. I was under absolutely no obligation to write this review, I did so because I enjoyed the story.

If I have not said it before, shame on me, but I love the way Marina Adair writes. There is an easy quality to her stories and she hits just the right notes on the emotional scale. Her small town settings give us an opportunity to mingle with some well-meaning, but quirky characters. In my mind, I keep picturing television shows like Northern Exposure and the Bob Newhart shows. Every Little Kiss is book two in the Sequoia Lake series. Because this series features the Sequoia Elite Mountain Rescue team, it features another favorite feature of mine – very hunky first responders. Hubba hubba.

Ford Jamison is an elite K-9 handler out of Reno but gets called in to do rescue and recovery work all over the world with his trusty partner, Bullseye. Years ago, he had to make a heartbreaking decision of rescuing either the father or son after they were in a car accident. That situation leaves an indelible mark on both the boy and the rescuer. The boy, Paxton, now suffers from select mutism and the Ford carries the guilt of not being able to save both. This is further complicated by a promise Ford makes to the father to deliver one last present to his wife.

Liv Preston is cautiously but surely learning to go on with life without her husband. She recognizes that it would be easy to focus her entire life on her son and bury her grief, but she does not do that. She knows that she must take care of her child by being a warrior for him and modeling that same behavior. This is where the story really shines for me. I really like how Liv pulls herself up and takes risks to help herself evolve, but to also be the mother that Paxton needs. This includes standing up to her mother in law. I love how she finds her voice and puts on her Wonder Woman warrior armor to face challenges head on. When she meets Ford, it is easy to be attracted to him. But Liv also sees Ford for who he really is and what he really needs. He is a man who needs deep connections but avoids them like the plague. Unfortunately, Ford’s story is a weak point in the plot. We know that he is abandoned by his father as a child and that makes him wary of investing in relationships. I get it, but he is a little stalker-ish. He sends both Liv and Paxton anonymous presents, he helps Paxton get accepted and pays the tuition for a popular summer camp. He is generous, but he does not know this woman or her child. Also, I have a real issue with his inability to come clean with Liv about who he really is and how he is connected to her and her deceased husband. I think it took entirely too long for him to tell her the truth. I also got tired of his excuses for keeping his secret. It becomes a character issue for me.

Luckily, the author also knows how to write a good happily ever after. She mostly redeems Ford at the end, mostly. It is Liv’s courage that makes me reconsider Ford. She does not settle for anything less than being totally loved. Here is a woman who knows her worth.

This is an emotional but feel good read. The characters are charming, witty and lovable.

Liv is a sassy lady, “I thought you were checking to see if I’m wearing a bra.” She bit her lip and shook her head." Foord appreciates all the effort his girl does, “you bought new panties,” he said in a low voice , but she saw other, deliciously big, signs that he was as excited over her panty choice as she was." I really liked this book, I fell in love with Ford.

Widowed and single mom Liv Preston has her hands full working full time and trying to car for her son, Paxton. Paxton suffered through a traumatic experience and he’s having a hard time connecting with people. Her main focus for the past two years has been supporting him. But two years is a long time to be alone. Her friends her insisting she get out there and try and wouldn’t you know it, sexy Ford Jamison is more than willing to help her out with this task. Ford is handsome, rugged, and attentive and he’s good with Paxton but Ford’s past might be the thing to keep Liv form moving forward with him.
In his line of work Ford Jamison never gets to see the outcome of the situation. Whether it’s a rescue mission or a recovery mission, he rescues or recovers then moves on to the next mission. He never makes connections with the people involved in his mission until the one two years ago when he promised a dying man that he would see that the man’s wife and son were okay. Keeping his word Ford has checked on Liv and Paxton from afar, but the last thing he expected was to actually make contact be so enamored by this single mom and her son. But when Liv learns who he really is, will she still want him?
I liked Ford and Liv; neither was what I expected. I liked the chemistry between the two. I thought Liv would be quiet, reserved and skittish but she was far from it. Ford was definitely more forward than I expected. As usual the cast of supporting characters in Marina’ books, especially those grandmothers! This might not be my favorite series of Marina’s but I’m eager for Harris’ story. That guy has had my attention more than anyone else. Quick read to add to your summer beach list.

This book is so good! Both Liv and Ford have heartbreaking backgrounds: She lost her husband in a devastating accident, he has seen too much in his job as a rescue worker (and more but I don't want to give away too much!). There is so much emotion packed into this book. Plus some adorable moments between an introverted 6 year old and a dog that loves to steal. This is the second in the Sequoia Lake series but can be read alone. Highly recommended.

Solid book and my first read by marina Adair. Loved the unique story -- particularly with bullseye! Good chemistry as well. Well done

Welcome back to Sequoia Lake! What a great welcome, indeed. Liv is a strong single mom - with a wonderful son. They have had tragedy in their lives, but are really coming into their own.
Ford, our wonderful hero, doesn't realize he doesn't always have to be a hero. Ford is withholding information that he really should have shared from the start, but what kind of story would that be?
I enjoyed the story line and the characters. A really good book. And a very enjoyable series!

Everything Marina does and writes is a must read. This one did not disappoint.

Awww. What a wonderfully sweet and cute story. The development of Liv and Ford's relationship was a really nice journey filled with many sigh worthy moments. Their chemistry was also smokin' hot. Throw in some adorable kids and a cute dog, and what you have are some very fun moments that will make you smile. An overall very feel good love story that will leave you wanting more because there are some really great secondary characters I would love to see have their own stories. Loved every moment of Every Little Kiss.
