I felt like I was missing some things. I didn't realize that this was at the end of a series. It was a good, festive read. I enjoyed the romance. I would read more of the series!

As the only girl in a family full of men, Darcy is spoiled. She has certain views of men because her brothers are all different so it helps with deciding what kind of man she wants. Growing up without a mother makes her crave family more than normal.
Ben is a recluse who loves how his life is. Then Darcy comes crashing in shaking things up. He likes her, wants her. But he can’t seem to figure her out. When things seem fine she pulls back and vice versa.
They come from very different backgrounds but they say two halves make a whole! We’ve finally gotten that closure by ending with the one and only girl!

Holiday Spice by Samantha Chase was a beautiful and heartfelt read.
I enjoyed watching the relationship between Darcy and Ben develop. They made me laugh, they frustrated me at times and they made me swoon. These two were perfect for each other and I have no doubt they would have a long and happy life ahead.
While I enjoyed Holiday Spice, for me the epilogue stole the show. I laughed, I smiled and I cried, oh boy did I cry.
This was one of the best epilogues I've read in a very long time and the perfect way to end this amazing series.
Thank you Samantha Chase for sharing the Shaughnessy siblings with us, it's been a joy getting to know them.

I never read any of the other books in this series but I do love a good Christmas themed story. Plus this story takes place around the same time of release which made it interesting. From the prologue I had a feeling this will be the a focal point of Darcy's issues later on. Ok so in the present I wasn't sure how to read her, she was complicated losing a mom so young despite getting cared for can have an effect. But I still didn't get why she was being rude and snippy to Ben. Ben was described as irritable and not social but I only saw a little of that at least he tried.
In a way opposites as Darcy loved the holidays and Ben avoided any of it. Darcy is pretty headstrong and inflexible, childish at times. But she seems to have good intentions just hardened. Same with Ben and his solitude, he lost all his joy with his hardships. They clashed alright helping Ben seemed troublesome and they just rubbed each other wrong. Bossy, prickly and stubborn clash. I like that Darcy loved the season despite everything, while I love the holiday season too not like she does anyway that was cute.
Neither of them anticipated getting snowed in. Well in a way it helped fan those flames that the combustible energy they had. Maybe it'll melt down walls. These two have this flawed way about them that makes it more realistic in character and that's something good. This isn't the typical holiday romance. While yes it has the cheery feel and feel good times it also has a lot of emotion and heartfelt moments. I liked the whole premise and setting I would have loved it if I wasn't as irked with Darcy.
It took a while for me to get feel of things and once I did the Shaughnessy family intrigued me. There was thankfully the character growth from Darcy which I'm happy about it was a painful process it happened. I will catch up on the brothers soon. It may very well take a whole lot of holiday magic to bring these two together. Holiday Spice is indeed spicy, a tad frustrating at times but good family fun. A bit of a spoiler for one who has not read any but the epilogue was a great addition and closure.

The sixth book in the series and this is about Darcy. She travels to Washington to help Benjamin Tanner who is doing a book about his wood cravings. She is doing this as a favor for Savannah who married Riley in book number 4 and now have a baby and cannot go to Washington for Benjamin. Benjamin likes two things woodcarving, and solitude. Darcy does not like solitude and goes a mile a minute when they first met and does not stop until he talks about Savannah for 20 minutes. The rest of her time she wants to finish the book and be gone. She thinks his work is amazing and she thinks he is very good looking but they mix like oil and water. Thinking that she is done and is at the airport she finds out she is stuck. Lo and behold Ben shows up and takes her back to his place and at first it gets just as bad as it was before she left. She clans his office amongst other things and then she finds out that he does not like or does Christmas. Not being able to understand she accepts and she wants to try to work with Ben on a relationship. He comes out to Carolina for thanksgiving and things go well until the last day when he is tired of the family always being around. Both say things that they probably should not say now they are at opposite ends of the country trying to figure out their own lives first before or if they can be a couple. A wonderful story and like always Ian comes in and says and gives her what she needs. The ending is good and overall a good book.

I love the Shaughnessy Brothers series and I think I have been anticipating Darcy's book from the very first time her character appeared in this series . I was so happy to receive a ARC of this book and I dived into it as soon as I possibly could and I thoroughly enjoyed this story . We follow Darcy and Ben and a lot of people would look at them and say that there opposites because Ben enjoys his privacy and solitude and Darcy is more of a social butterfly who grew up in a very closely woven family.. but you know what they always say about opposites ,They always attracted to each other and that is definatelty the case in this book . I loved the romance between these two it was sexy , fun and swoon worthy . Samantha Chase always writes fantastic romance so this should really come as no suprise. If you have been following my reviews for any amount of time you know how much I love the Shaughnessy family so it made me so happy that we got to see what everyone was up too and how happy they all are. I loved Holiday Spice and it was exactly the type of story I needed to read right now a sexy , sweet story filled with heartwarming moments and if you are wondering if you should pick this book up the answer is yes!l

I love the warm cozy feeling this book gave me! Darcy and Benjamin aren't two people I would have expected to fit together, but it works so well. I have to go back and read the rest of this series! #MSBB

This book has the perfect release date. Weird thing to notice, right? I haven’t ever felt like a book came at just the right time, but this book does.
A big reason for that is Darcy and Ben meet well before Christmas, in October. For me, this added some build up to the holiday season and made their story more than a holiday love story.
Darcy is the youngest in the Shaughnessy family and the only girl. I felt the author really captured Darcy’s personality perfectly. I say this because at times, I almost felt like she was a little bit bratty, but then I would be able to align with her on her brothers and dad not entirely understanding her. In past books in the Shaughnessy Brother Series, we always see everyone going overboard with Darcy and you can really understand how she feels sort of trapped because it’s like she can’t ever get on her own two feet.
Ben, on the other hand, has his own family issues to deal with. His parents died two weeks before Christmas, several years back. Since then, Ben doesn’t do the holidays. He doesn’t do family, he doesn’t do traveling. Ben’s preference is solitude, which puts him in direct contrast with Darcy, who is social all the time.
Darcy mentions several times that Ben is a man, not a frat boy. I can’t really pinpoint why, but I loved that the author chose to have Darcy make this distinction. Maybe it’s because as young women, so often we choose someone who might not be the best fit just because someone sort of fits with us. Seeing Darcy realize this is pivotal in a few ways. Throughout the story, we see Darcy trying desperately to make her own way, but not having any luck. With Ben, you can see Darcy’s eyes opening up to other possibilities. This includes her career.
This story seems a little bit deeper than some of the books in the series. Each sibling has truths they have to accept and learn from, but Darcy’s seemed a bit more intense. This was appreciated because Darcy and her story has been a bit of a buildup throughout the whole series. There is also a scene where Owen dishes out some advice to Darcy, and while it might not be easy to hear, it’s a truth that Darcy needs to learn.
This book is the last in the Shaughnessy Brothers Series and I loved the ending. This story summed up the entire series beautifully and I admit that I shed a few tears. The author has created this incredible world with the Shaughnessy family and while I’m sad to see it come to an end, the ending is one the Shaughnessy family would have loved themselves.

Darcy's mother died when she was a babe. While she has little or no recollection of her mother and misses her every single day, she's built her life around her family. One small thing another mainstay is Christmas and Ms. Chase pairs her up with the perfect scrooge just in time for the holidays.
Like a butterfly, Darcy finds it hard to settle on a career choice. During this stage she offers to help out her sister-in-law Savannah and travels out to Washington state to help wood carving artist Benjamin Tanner compile a coffee table book of his art. Considering Ben is a solitary creature who hates Christmas and keeps his distance from his two siblings this is very much an oil and water combination. Be prepared for tears and laughter as Ben and Darcy come together for a spectacular finish to the series. I was already in love with Darcy's brothers and their gorgeous wives but my heart was a goner when little girl Darcy is the nicest little girl all dressed up for Christmas and looking for that special secret present that she's asked for from Santa. It did surprise me how well Darcy weathered her disappointment and made Christmas the happiest time of her life. Then comes the introduction to Ben Tanner who lost his parents close to Christmas and has closed off his heart and emotions. Christmas and any reminders of the holiday are a total anathema to him.
The two are floored at first sight. It is so hilarious how Ben turns off Darcy because in his desire to make conversation with her he raves on about her sister-in-law Savannah leading her to believe he's in love with Savannah which is Oh so inappropriate! plus it makes her feel even more inadequate and second choice than she's always felt in her life. Poor Ben, trying to figure out why Darcy continues to distance herself from him?
Then comes a big snowstorm and Darcy is stranded at the airport from where Ben rescues her and brings him home. Will they finally manage to clear the air between them and make some headway on the off the charts sexual chemistry between them. Of course that's a foregone conclusion since this is a romance and its far past time for a sexual encounter. Fireworks erupt in more than the bedroom as Darcy takes it upon herself to also organize the very disorganized Ben's life. He's such a jerk when instead of thanking her for handling all the chores he hates he blames her for interfering in his life. Really?
Once they make it to bed they're insatiable. Ben quickly follows her home and gets an introduction to her family and quickly feels left out with Darcy's close involvement with her family. Then Darcy goes beyond the girlfriend boundaries and tries to cultivate the same closeness with his brothers. Ben is like a small child who feels Darcy should feel privileged that he has opened his once lonely life to include her in it instead of trying to bring other people into their relationship. Clearly he's got a lot to learn.
This books made me feel a gamut of emotions which of course is a great testament to the author's writing. As a reader I can attest that this is a great series with spectacular characters and heart warming stories. Can't wait to see what the author will treat us to next.

I read this book out of order, which I normally wouldn't do. Obviously it follows the siblings of the Shaughnessy family, this book being for the only daughter, Darcy. The character development was good from the start, it too some time to figure out who belonged to who in the groping of brothers.
Watching Darcy and Ben figure things out was definitely a whirlwind. It's a great feeling when a book makes you laugh, tear up and want to yell all in one sitting. I'm probably going to have to go back and read the other five books now.

Darcy is the youngest daughter of 7 siblings. The protected one. The one who lost her mother and asked Santa Claus for a new one...
Years ahead, Darcy is a cheerful, opinionated woman who works as an assistant to one of her brothers, all successful and with families, who still looks for her place under the sun.
Her sister-in-law, Savannah, indicated her as an assistant to an artist who was about to release a book.
Benjamin Tanner was a meticulous artist within his disorganization. And how disorganized he was!!!
Accustomed to working with Savannah, although he understood that the friend had had a daughter recently and could not travel to Washington, he and Darcy didn't t get along right away. And to make matters worse, Darcy gets stuck in his house because of a blizzard with all flights canceled.
They decided to give a break to work better and, over that time, each one began to perceive the quality of each other. And other feelings also started to grow.
With so much to adapt to each other, would each of them have the will to do so? Would their love be strong enough to give up family, work, and personal space?
A contemporary novel, ending the series, which makes us think about how love can be wonderful... but also noisy and spacious.
And prepare your tissues because the epilogue is perfect.

A bittersweet ending to The Shaughnessy Brothers series! If you are like me, you have adored this series and this family from the very first book. They are the close-knit family we only dream of having ... always there to help when needed, full of unconditional love no matter what you may say or do in anger, and loyal to a fault. We have gone through the journey of healing and the finding of love with all of the brothers, and this book brings us the final sibling's story ... little sister Darcy. She's been spoiled and has gotten her way all of her life with all of these warm and compassionate brothers and father that she grew up with, and now it's time for her to meet the man that teaches her that life isn't always going to go your way! She and Ben are a bit like oil and water on one hand, and yet destined to be together on the other. I enjoyed catching up with everyone again!
Darcy Shaughnessy is still working on figuring out what she wants to do with her life when she's asked to do a favor and go meet with an artist that could use some help on a project having to do with his work. She's happy to help, but when she arrives and the guy doesn't seem all too happy to have the help that was requested, she's a bit irritated!
Benjamin Tanner prefers his solitude in his cabin in the woods in Washington. He loves his work, but he doesn't love the jobs of promoting and interacting with the real world outside of his uninterrupted bubble. When Darcy shows up with her enthusiasm and peppy attitude, he seriously doesn't know what to make of her. At first they clash and get off on bad terms with each other ... but when things calm down and they end up getting snowed in together, they find out they like each other a little too much!

Darcy Shaughnessy has grown up with her five older brothers and dad. Her mom died when she was a baby so they were all she knew growing up. Flash forward, Darcy is now 25 and she is trying to figure where she's supposed to be in life. As a favor for one of sister-in-law, Darcy ends up in Washington state and gets snowed in with Ben, the guys she went to work with. The story basically takes off from there.
With Holiday Spice being the 6th book in what I believe is a companion series, I feel like I missed out on some things coming into it during this story line. Darcy and her family love each other and it is clear how close they are whenever they are mentioned. However, I didn't have the time to personally connect with them. There was a lot of references that were made and they went completely over my head. I also found it hard to keep up with the brothers and who each of them was married to. That being said, I would like to go back to the beginning and learn about each of the members of the family and see more of the family dynamics between all of them.
It was interesting learning about Darcy and Ben. The two of them are so different but they also have a lot of similarities. As can be expected this sometimes causes issues between them. Both Darcy and Ben have become so set in their ways but when they meet they challenge each other to face their fears. There was some miscommunications on both ends but there was always an undeniable attraction between them. Their relationship is not perfect but that's what I enjoy so much. It's only October but Holiday Spice has already gotten me into the Christmas spirit. Make sure to add this one to your holiday reading list.

Holiday Spice, by Samantha Chase is an entertaining contemporary holiday romance that seems to wrap up The Shaughnessy Brothers series.
Darcy Shaughnessy is the youngest in her family, as well as the only daughter. When she arrives in a snowy mountainous area to help organize an artist's debut book, Darcy is surprised to be attracted to Benjamin Tanner.
Benjamin and Darcy have different personalities and perspectives about life, especially Christmas, and both have dealt with family tragedies in their pasts. Their new professional situation is founded upon miscommunication and misconceptions, which continues to shade their personal relationship and romance.
Also, this story begins with a intriguing flashback to Darcy as a precious six-year-old with her family celebrating Christmas, as told from her father's point-of-view.
This book provides an entertaining story that wraps up The Shaughnessy Brothers series. Even though it's the sixth book in series, it's still reads as a stand-alone story. However, it's recommend to read the whole series, starting with the first book: Made for Us. Previously, I reviewed another book called A Sky Full of Stars, which is the fifth book in the series.
Holiday Spice is geared towards those who enjoy reading modern holiday romances.
Note: I received this book from NetGalley, which is a program designed for bloggers to write book reviews in exchange for books, yet the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Holiday Spice is another wonderful romance for the Shaunhessey family by Samantha Chase. I have read the stories for each of the brothers and was so glad to know that Darcy was finally getting her happy ever after.
As in real life, true love does not always run smoothly for Darcy and the new man in her life, Ben Tanner. But I was pulling for a happy out come for Darcy as she travels from coast to coast to find true love.
As usual. Ms Chase has told a tale that entwines all the siblings, mates and children of the Shaunhessey family that readers have come to love. Enjoy this new tale as a good holiday read.

I think every time I read the next story in this series it's the best one yet but I was surprised again. Darcy is the only girl among a family of boys so to say they have been protective is not surprising. Great read and a great ending to the series. Samantha Chase has become one of my go-to read authors.

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
This was my first Samantha Chase book and I did enjoy the storyline. I will be reading the rest of the series since this was a good read.
I liked both the main characters, but I liked Ben more than Darcy I think. I think he was a bit more reasonable, although they both certainly had their moments, and for understandable reasons. They both needed to grow and learn from each other, and it was interesting to see the dynamic between the two and watch things change.
I was also really interesting in the idea of Bens job – I can imagine the beautiful pieces he would’ve been making for clients and it wasn’t a typical run of the mill job like in some books. It was intriguing and beautiful and suited his character.
The family dynamics of both Darcy and Ben were so different in this novel, and it highlights how different each and every family can be in real life situations.
I don’t want to say too much about the book because I don’t want to spoil things, but I would recommend, and as I said, I would like to read the other books in the series as well.

This is a hard book for me to review for several reasons. I love this series, which makes this all the harder. However, I really had kind of an issue with the heroine, Darcy. I felt like she had the biggest chip on her shoulder. Ben, I could overlook because he was lovable and had a really good heart. The prologue got me right in the heart and I thought by all accounts that Darcy was going to be a sweetheart - Well, she was probably one as a child, but that's where it ended. She was hot one minute and cold the next toward the hero. I totally understand that her mother died and that left a huge hole in her life, but all of the books before this have been stellar and this one was just okay for me. If you skip it and go to the next one, I really don't think you'll miss much, but Ben who actually made the book for me and didn't make this a DNF.
I was given an ARC copy of this book by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own and do not reflect anyone else's.

Quick, short read which isn't like I usually read but in a good way.
Darcy and Ben first met when she went to fill in for her sister in law and they both thought the other was gorgeous but that was it. These two disliked each other, lol.
I didn't know what was going to take these two click. They were both stubborn but also very family oriented. They suffered similar losses which they had issues grasping. But after they got together it was good but still with issues.
Good read with 5 overbearing brothers, lol.
I voluntarily accepted an advanced reader copy of this book.

Holiday Spice might be better named Holiday Miracle if the two strong-willed main characters are to stop their clashing. Samantha Chase’s latest Shaughnessy book has Darcy Shaughnessy the impulsive, bossy lovely woman meeting her match in Benjamin Tanner, hermit artist.
Darcy and Ben stole my heart even when I wanted to shake some sense into them. Genuine characters who had both good and bad days. Perhaps it is the bad, that made them seem more human, more like me or a friend. Work brings them together but it is attraction that make the clashes so hot. Ms. Chase has given the lone woman in the Shaughnessy family an amazing story; fitting her perfectly.
I have not read the other books in the series but thanks to this book I have purchased several others now. There is just something about nosy, meddlesome but loving, siblings’ stories that I loved. If the others are as great as this one, I have found a new favorite series.
