A satisfying end to a series that swept us into the lives of the Shaughnessy's and showed us that not everyone is made the same, loves the same or even thinks the same despite being related. Darcy was the one sibling who connected everyone and I have enjoyed this journey.

I am thrilled that she finds love and works through a few issues from her past. The holidays are a time for family, traditions, and love.

If you love reading holiday romances then be sure to add this to your list.

Full disclosure, the name of the heroine (Darcy) is the name of my little niece. That put me in the unenviable position of one part amused at her antic, and three part exasperated at her. First this is book six in The Shaughnessy Brothers series, and Darcy is the last sibling and only sister. Because this is part of a series, and I haven't read the previous books yet, my OCD had been bothering me nonstop. Those hint of the previous book because I haven't them yet made those part less then enjoyable for me. And the one reason I like series is the hint possibility of finding how the other's couples are doing. 2) Darcy kept going hot then cold, making it hard to like her. Ben who Is supposed to be a mountain bear was too patient with her. She was a brat and I keep waiting for him to figuratively slap her down (she was that bratty), only he never did.
The hero and heroine disappoint me in that sense. While Darcy was well written (the bratty younger child who happen to be the only daughter, who also lost her mom before toddlerhood) I don't think Ben was. He was supposed to be a bear, and while this was told, it was not show.

Unfortunately, I was not able to connect with the characters on this one. Mainly Darcy. I really DID NOT like her character. I felt she was whiny and rude, I don't see what Ben saw in her. I had to stop reading this one 50% of the way through.

An amazing book by an amazing author, quite possibly my favourite in the series. I will say that I am a big fan of Christmas books, and this one is a whopper!

This is the story of Darcy and how she met Ben. I felt that this book was truly different and unique to books in the same genre and so is well worth the read.

If you like Christmas romances then I recommend this one!

Finally we get Darcy's story - Opposites do attract. Ben is a socially inept introvert who lives alone, works alone and hardly ever interacts with his two brothers. Darcy is happiest surrounded by chaos, whether that be her family, her job, or in her every day reality. When these two meet sparks fly and they fall for each other. But will they compliment or overwhelm each other? Can both of them bend a little and change for the sake of the relationship or will it end in heartbreak? This was such a romantic and emotional read. The reader wants them to be together from the opening pages. It was a wonderful reunion with old characters we have grown to love from other books in the series. I am sad that this was the last child to read about. Overall, a fabulous book that I highly recommend.

Holiday Spice by Samantha Chase is another brilliant masterpiece. The ending made me cry with happiness. I was affected during the entire book. Intense, emotional, and intriguing. The plot was well-done as always. Addictive...the pages went by fast. The scenes dragging me up into the characters' lives. Every page left me wondering what will happen. I've never been disappointed yet with any of Samantha Chase's novels. Her books are out of this world. Holiday Spice is exactly that. Spicy and sweet. A holiday novel that was hard to stop reading.

The main characters were total opposites. The male character, Ben, was similar to Darcy's brother, Owen. Socially awkward, smart, and extremely talented. Ben hates interacting with others. In fact, he doesn't interact with his orders at all. Ben and his two brothers lost their parents. The loss and grief hit Ben the hardest. He never celebrates Christmas anymore because that's when they lost them...

Then, comes along beautiful yet sassy, Darcy Shaunghnessy. She knocks Ben's world out of tilt. He can't stand hearing the truth from her so he runs and hides. But he knows she's right. He loves her laughter, her baking, and making love to her. She makes him feel alive again. Without her, his world is grey.

Darcy Shaunghnessy is a young woman who lost her mother ata young age. Ever since then, she's been dealing with family issues. Wanting a mom...but Santa never brought her one. Instead it was just her, her brothers, and her dad. Now, as an adult, her brother blessed her with sister-in-laws and nieces to spoil. But Darcy's world still isn't whole.

Until she meets Ben. Ben makes her knees weak. He makes her feel whole. Complete. But his world and hers don't match...it will take something toget these two their happily ever after...

Overall, I fell in love with this book. Samantha Chase knows just what us, readers, want. Heartfelt and unforgettable stories. Stories that left me laughing, crying, and falling in love. I highly recommend this new novel to readers worldwide.

A little holiday magic to experience all year round. That's the best description for Holiday Spice. Every Shaughnessy has had their shining moment and taken a piece of my heart along the way, but Darcy sealed the deal. This time, Ms. Chase went for broke and laid claim to my heart in it's entirety. Darcy, the lone girl in a sea of men has grown into a lovely woman with a beautiful caring soul, but she still has wounds. Ben is a loner. He eats, breathes and sleeps woodcarving. When a cry for help leaves him stranded with an optimistic beauty, this lone wolf, may just find his soulmate. With an open heart and arms wide open, Ms. Chase ends her Shaughnessy series with a romance that has classic written all over it.

Darcy and Ben are my favorite couple in this series. Darcy is determined , confident and lovable. Ben is intelligent and a lone wolf. Darcy is trying to find herself in work place. Ben is an established artist. They are brought together by Darcy's sister-in-law for a work project. They are initially attracted to each other but get off on the wrong foot. They both had family tragedy in their past. Neither of them of them have totally moved on from their past tragedy . Ben realizes how closed off he has become. Darcy realizes she never confronted her past. By confronting their past issues they are able to become closer. I love how Darcy challenges Ben. Both of them needed to let go of their emotions to move forward. Darcy is a breath of fresh air to Ben's life. Ben brings a balance to Darcy that she has never had. I totally recommend this series and book. Trust me you will love all the Shaughnessy's .

This is the sixth in Samantha Chase’s series about the Shaughnessy family finding romance. Darcy Shaughnessy is the youngest of the six children and the only girl. She bears all sorts of insecurities having grown up without a mother despite having had a loving father and five older brothers looking out for her (or interfering with her life, as she sees it). She goes out to help Ben Tanner, a reclusive sculptor, finish up a book of his artwork.

I just found it hard to care all that much for either one of them. First, she would be obnoxious, then it would be his turn. Then they’d get together, and then the cycle would repeat. I’ve read the other Shaughnessy books but I can’t remember one of them. So there are interactions with her siblings and their wives but their stories weren’t notable enough to leave any memory in my mind. I had to go online to read the plot summaries of their novels to remember who they were. Not that you needed to know all that, but there are so many of them that I wanted some hook beyond just thinking of them as Older Brother #1 or Sister-in-Law #2.

If you read and enjoyed her other books, this is another one that you’ll enjoy. Otherwise, it felt a bit flat to me.

I was given a free ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Holiday Spice
Shaughnessy # 6
Samantha Chase
🌟🌟🌟🌟⭐ stars

I feel so many emotions finishing up this series. I feel like I’ve lived through the lives of the Shaughnessy clan, their massive highs, and their devastating lows, their fighting and make ups... as a person who comes from a big family I could relate to their day in day out family issues. Through Aiden, Hugh, Quinn, Riley and finally Owen, it only left Darcy to find her forever after. She sadly was my least favourite through all of the books, her princess attitude and only daughter dramas sometimes grated in my nerves, but in Sky Full of Stars, she came into herself and I saw a grown woman struggling with what life and her overprotective family throws at her. Now in Holiday Spice, it is Darcy’s turn to find her happy ever after....

As the only daughter and youngest of 6 it is always difficult to have a relationship especially when the boys found out, and after the demise of her previous relationship she is very careful. Now that all of her brothers are married and kids (or on the way), Darcy feels peace with those sister’s she never had. But her own man is a constant missing link.... Now as she meets Ben Tanner, life will never be the same again. Darcy never saw Ben coming, with just another part time job, she moves to the mountains of Washington to help Ben with his new book. But at 1st sight she is more than taken with this gorgeous man, but her stand offish tactics push him away. Staying with him would only end badly, choosing a local motel instead, but when she gets to his house, all of those holiday romance books she adores become real life.... stunning views, snow falling, huge fireplaces, gorgeous man – you get the picture - this is a disaster waiting to happen. Enter painful Darcy, she’ll ruin everything.

Benjamin Tanner lives and loves his solitary life. As a sculpture maker he spends much of his time at his mountain home, in his workshop chipping away at amazing pieces that can blow minds. With a book deal on the line he enlists the help of Savannah Shaughnessy with the writing, but when she sends her sister in law Darcy instead, Ben will have not only his book, but his entire world turned upside down. Now we’ve all read the stories of a couple snowed in, falling in love, then happy ever after, well no this is not really like that at all. Think snow storm, headstrong woman, a solace man, some incredible chemistry and an office disaster to rival a tornado – Welcome to Holiday Spice.

After many heated arguments, cosy dinners, so much snow and cancelled flights, Darcy and Ben find themselves confined to his mountain home, with nothing more to do, their chemistry spikes and the working relationship goes out the window. Admitting they had feelings at 1st sight brings fear and angst but for Darcy as she discovers more about what it is missing from her life. After losing her mother as a baby, that link was always missing but finding her love that was something she always wanted but never quite grasped. For Ben he comes from a world of hurt as well. Losing both of his parents days before Christmas, so that just pushes this lonely man further from reach. Together they will embark on a sad yet sweet journey discovering that that love is not easy, love doesn’t come without pain, love will overcome the grief and love is not just 2 people, love is those all around you. For Ben, that is his 2 brother’s , and for Darcy it is her dad, Ian, and her overbearing brothers and keep them in line sister in laws... they might not make it easy for Ben but those Shaughnessy boys know how to look after their women. Ben just gets to be an honorary one.

Samantha has killed it with Holiday Spice, it is perfect ending to very loved family ❤💜

Saved the best for last. I was so anxious to read Darcy's story, After all, she is the spitfire youngest of the Shaughnessy Clan having to play second fiddle to so many brothers, lacking a maternal connection, and, in many ways, the mother of this gang.

Darcy has floundered around through the years searching for that special something she couldn't obtain. Having thought she needed to go away for college and possibly get away from her overprotective brothers, then coming home and trying to find a job she loved, Darcy just felt she couldn't find her place in the family. Her lack of a mother figure and it's toll on her life is heartbreaking.

Taking a job to travel to remote Washington and help a woodcarving artist put together a book, Darcy soon finds herself in her own winter wonderland with the world's biggest scrooge.

Ben Tanner hates all things Christmas after losing his parents two weeks prior to the holiday. Buckling down and making his woodcarving a lucrative business, Ben focused on taking care of his younger brothers all the while shutting himself off from his family and the world. Cocooned in his cabin and workshop, Ben thinks he has all he needs and doesn't feel he lacks for anything. UNTIL Darcy brings her intrusive and exuberant self to Ben's doorstep.

While these two try to work together they fight an attraction they each try to hide from the other. When one person loves winter and all things Christmas with such fervent passion as well as all things offered by a big, boisterous, nosy family how can they ever interconnect with a recluse who not only hates Christmas but is not a big fan of your large family.

Darcy and Ben have so many obstacles to navigate yet their passionate connection trumps those differences, most of the time anyway. Each must learn that what they need in their lives is the exact thing the other can offer, These polar opposites need the other to balance one another.

I so loved this love story. The epilogue was especially exciting to read and catch up with the entire family and the expansion of their gang.

It was underdeveloped and the characters fell flat. Not my favorite work,.

I received a free copy of Holiday Spice from NetGalley for my honest review. I have been waiting to read Darcy's story for months. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. This is the story of wood artist Benjamin Tanner and Darcy Shaughnessy. Being the only girl in a family full of men they usually scared away her dates. Darcy does a favor and helps out Savannah's friend Ben. Ben loves his solitude almost as much as his woodcarving. Darcy gets snowed in with Ben in his cabin in the woods, and sparks fly. Darcy's love of family and active social life are an obstacle that they may not be able to work through. Can Ben give up his solitude for love? I loved this book I really felt a connection between Darcy and Ben and couldn't wait to see what happened next. It was also nice to see Darcy's family again and catch up with them. I would recommend this book and also if you haven't read the other books in the series first. This is a great book and it has been a great series.

Sweet holiday story. Dragged in a few places and our heroine wasn't easy to love but in the end it evoked the spirit of Christmas and family quite well

I love Samantha Chase, and I LOVE the Shaughnessy family. I honestly want to find them and be friends with them! This is the final book in the family series and I couldn't have loved it more. Darcy and Ben were adorable, and I love how the issues the characters deal with are real and believable.

Lacks the spice I like in romance, however, the author makes up for the lack of bold sexuality with simmering sensual tension and delightful story telling.

The finally book in the Shaughnessy brothers series. Though the series is called Shaughnessy brothers this last book is about the lone sister Darcy. If am not mistaken Darcy showed up in all of her brothers books and now is her HEA. Savannah(Riley's wife) introduces her to Ben(who we meet in Riley's and Savannah's book) who carves wood items for a living and is a loner. He needs someone to write an introduction to his novel and since Savannah was not available to do so she sends Darcy to help him out. There first few interactions was a little heated and both individuals frustrated with each other but when Darcy gets snowed with him they truly get to know each other and realize how much they have in common and how each of them is helping the other in areas of their personality that needs work. I would have loved a little more meatier/more excitable plot(Quinn's book is my favorite) but enjoyed nevertheless. Review can be found on goodreads and amazon.

** spoiler alert ** I received this book as an ARC thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca via Netgalley and it was provided free in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book! Darcy was a character that I was interested to see where the story took her and I'm happy with her character development as she works through her issues with growing up without a mother figure.

Ben Tanner - from Riley's story, was a welcome counterpart (albeit moody & growly at times). You could see him try (4 steps forward, 3 steps back), but it was great to see him grow throughout the series as well.

I loved that this didn't just cover Christmas but a bunch of holidays (All American - Halloween, Thanksgiving, NYE). I highly recommend!

Fans of Chase will not be disappointed with Darcy and Ben's story. It was genius of her to put the two of these characters together. They completely fit. It was nice to see Ben come out of his shell and for Darcy to finally grow up. Cheers to Chase for creating such a memorable series with such well thought out characters!
