Drop Dead Gorgeous is a great fit for those seeking a lighthearted, mysterious, and steamy romance with a dash of danger and a touch of the supernatural. It's a super fast-paced read, so once you start you won't want to put it down.

This book was so entertaining. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and was involved until the end. The characters were complex and interesting. I found the story to be well paced and engrossing throughout the whole book. I was invested in the couple throughout the book and felt all the emotions through both the highs and lows of the story. The side characters were such an integral part of this story as well. This is the love story i needed to read at this time. If you want an entertaining and well written book this is it for you

I didn't finish reading this. I stopped at chapter 5 because of the angst between the characters. It got tiresome and kind of boring.

Romancing the Undead is the second book in the V-Date series by Juliet Lyons. While I have read the previous book, and it did give me a bit of insight on a few characters, I do not think it is needed to fully enjoy this read.
Mila Hart’s first experience with the vampire dating site V-Date.com is a complete disaster–her date is wanted for murder! But things turn around when she’s rescued by dashing vampire cop Vincent Ferrer. Dangerous and devastatingly attractive, he’s just the undead hottie Mila was hoping for. However Vincent is haunted by his past and does not want to risk falling in love again–even if Mila charms him more than anyone he’s ever met. But when the killer from Mila’s date seeks her out, Vincent is the only one who can protect her. Protecting his heart is a different story.
Romancing the Undead is a solid paranormal romance with a solid plot and danger and connections that were on point. I liked Mila's character, she was strong and aware of her flaws. She was not the mess she considered herself to be, but she certainly did find herself in less that ideal conditions on several occasions. Vincent was a good character as well, although I did find his attachment to guilt and his past to be a little much on occasion. I found the suspense plot line with the vampire murderer to be well done, although I admit that I suspected the twist, or something of its nature from the start. I do think that my favorite part was the characters, especially the supporting characters and hoe varied but real they all felt. From Vincent's co-workers, to the vampires, and beyond to Mila's friends and family, I found the little details about these characters and their lives made everything much more real as I read than the story would have been without them.
Romancing the Undead is an engaging read that had me entertained through out, and holding my breath more than once. I do believe I will be continuing this series, and looking to see what happens to all the characters I have met on the edges of the story.

I love this book. I read book 1 and 2 in the series. and this is just as good. I have always loved paranormal romance. This one has lots of romance and suspense. The characters have lots of chemistry together. It's a fresh take on paranormal romance. (And trust me, a lot of the other books out there are just clichés after clinches.... ) I enjoy it very much and I am looking forward to the next one from this writer!

I don't know what it is about a good paranormal romance but they just make me all smiley and happy. I needed a break from plain ol' romance and knew Juliet Lyon's Drop Dead Gorgeous was just what I needed. And I was not wrong. I devoured this book and loved every minute of it. Mila and Vincent were wonderful characters and their relationship was so enjoyable. The supporting cast was just as strong. I could live within this V-Date world for much longer than the three novels that full out the series.

This was a very fun and silly book, but exactly what I expected to read.

So this went a different route then what I expected, especially with the characters. Mila was not a favorite character of mine and I'm not sure if I believed she was right for Vincent. I didn't find that connection that I saw with the characters that I felt from the 1st book. Mila was a quarky character that spent too much time talking about pop culture. There was just way too much of it. I don't really see how Vincent got closure from his past, when he didn't even know there was another person at the event with Vincent's original love. <spoiler>Now there is a vampire witch who can make vampires into humans, which I found kind of ridiculous.</spoiler> I can't wait to read Ronin and Cats story though.

I'm not really a fan of the paranormal books. I did like the concept of this series. It didn't really disappoint me either. The book did a bit stereotypical in spots, a bit fairy tale-ish in the end, but overall a good read. I would put the third book on my TBR list.

So a lot of my issues with Book 1 (DATING THE UNDEAD) are solved here, though not the cure all, catch all almost Deus ex machina ending.
What are the chances that Mila would know someone who could solve their problem?
That said I liked the villain angle better here as well as the relationship progression. Vincent was, to be frank, adorable as heck. Reading how at loose ends he was constantly, well that was fun. Mila seemed the more confident one which was a nice change of pace.
She knew what she wanted and never felt compunction telling Vincent (not even in bed). And she had honest conversations with him about her expectations as well discussing possible solutions. Vincent didn't make or try to force assumptions on her either.
Vague spoiler, near the end Mila wants to broach a pretty obvious issue the two should have a plan for. She presents her argument, she offers a solution, she listens to Vincent's objections and counter offer. Neither dismisses the other's idea.
Rational adult conversation!
I'm less excited for the next book (about Ronin and Catherine), but I wonder if their ending will be the same as Logan and Vincent's?

I really enjoyed the chemistry between Mila and Vincent. It was a cross between a cozy mystery and a hot romance, and it really took the best of both worlds to combine into a great story full of banter and steam.
This is a fantastic read for paranormal romance lovers as it is for contemporary romance lovers.

3.5 Stars
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I totally enjoyed it. Talk about first dates! Mila was so lucky that Vincent was there for her after her first date with a vampire turned into a night of terror. But the story isn't all dark, there is plenty of snarky humor and the chemistry shines between the H/h. There was just something so charming about Vincent and his old fashioned ways at times.
I am not a fan of first person, my personal preference, and so I think it could have been stronger and more engaging for readers like me told in 3rd person, JMO.
I received and ARC copy from NetGalley for my honest opinion

This second installment was filled with just as much quirky romance as the first one and leaves me eager to see where this series heads next.
Mila is this book’s focus. She starts the story going on a v-date with a serial killer. No worries, though, because Vincent the vampire is on the case! Vincent is the “by the books” vampire you hope would be the cop assigned to your case, but Mila certainly tests his resolve. Aside from their blistering attraction, these two also have to work together to make sure the serial killer can’t continue his work.
Vincent has oodles of baggage, but trust the very open and rambling Mila to push all his boundaries. Forced to live together, these two play a game of who can ignore their attraction more. When they finally break, it’s epically hot. If you’re looking for a murder-mystery with paranormal romance throughout, this is definitely a smutty good time.

Emotionally thrilling, action packed, highly entertaining romantic adventure filled with danger and interesting as well as charming charters.
Vincent Ferrer is an extremely hot vampire cop with a haunted past that keeps him from looking for any kind of lasting relationship. Mila Hart is sexy, sassy and looking for love, but is highly disappointed by her first date off a hot new vampire dating site. Steaming hot sexy romantic journey for this sexy and charming couple.

I had fun with Drop Dead Gorgeous and if you love vampires, or anything paranormal then I’m betting you’ll enjoy this second story in the Bite Nights series as well.
Mila has not been exactly lucky in love, so since vampires and humans now share the world openly she decides to take a walk on the wilder, undead side and joins an undead dating site. Again it’s just her luck to be paired up with one vampire who definitely isn’t looking for a happy ever after ending. Nope, she finds herself with a serial killer and she is on his menu for far more than drinks. Enter one hot, sexy member of the police force who also happens to be an old world vampire and things get interesting for Mila.
Drop Dead Gorgeous is steamy, funny and a very entertaining paranormal romantic suspense with a twist that I honestly didn’t see coming. It’s full of interesting secondary characters that I certainly hope we learn more about in the next story, That Killer Smile.
Vincent will fight his attraction to Mila for he has vowed to never fall in love again. Which doesn’t exactly hold up as he is slowly falling under this human’s spell more each day. Protecting her has become his only focus. Together they’ll search out a serial killer and find romance along the way.
At times snarky, other times touchingly emotional, this is a Paranormal Romance that any reader of the genre would enjoy. I’d definitely recommend this one and I’m looking forward to the next story.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

DROP DEAD GORGEOUS is the second book in the Bite Night series. If you have not read the first book in the series, don’t worry. This can be read as a standalone.
DROP DEAD GORGEOUS is a story about Mila Hart. Mila has been unlucky in love. For some reason she always seemed to date losers. Her last boyfriend of two years was married with two kids. Something she was unaware of while they were dating. Hence, the reason why she broke up with him. Wanting to try something different, Mila decides to sign up for V-Date, a vampire dating site. Since she was having bad luck with human men, Mila thought maybe her luck would change for the better dating a vampire. Unfortunately, luck is not on her side. The first vampire she meets tries to kill her. She is saved in the nick of time by Inspector Vincent Ferrer.
Vincent Ferrer is hot on the trail of a vampire serial killer. The latest tip leads him to an alley where the killer is about to sink his fangs into Mila. Vincent can’t help but to feel an attraction to Mila. Something that scares him to the very core. She is a witness and he is a professional. Vincent knows he should act like a professional while around her, but he just can’t help the sexual attraction that springs up every time he is near her. When the killer breaks into Mila’s home, leaving her a dead rat, Vincent knows the only way to protect her is to keep her with him. This is where the fun begins.
I really loved Mila and Vincent. Their laugh out loud moments really made this story for me. Sure, she is targeted by a serial killer, but Mila, although scared, didn’t lose her upbeat personality. She is definitely a talker and babbles (a lot!) The babbling is actually what I loved about Mila. I loved how she described Vincent as Mr Hottie, Inspector Vampire and how she thought she died and gone to heaven the first time she saw Vincent when he rescued her in the alley. Vincent on the other hand is definitely a gentleman through and through. He instantly feels an attraction to Mila, but she is a witness and he knows he really should not get involved, but yet he could not stay away either. He tries to fight the attraction, but little by little he feels himself being sucked in (No pun intended!) to her charms.
All in all, I really enjoyed DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. It is a light-hearted and fun read. Juliet Lyons kept the story upbeat with a sprinkle of seriousness thrown in the mix. I loved the alternating POV between Mila and Vincent as you were able to get inside both of their heads learning more about them as individuals. I can honestly say that Juliet Lyons is now on my radar and I will be happily purchasing more of her books in the future.

Mila was on a first date with a vampire she had contacted through V date which was a Vampire dating service. She had been in a two year relationship only to find the man was married. So Mila decided to try something new and different. Mila met the man for drinks at The World's End which was a very public place and she could be safe so she thought. The Vampire looked at her like she was a rare and exquisite gem. But mila was not attracted to him even though he was handsome. Then the Vampire mentions going outside for some air and Mila can’t seem to do anything but follow him into a alley. The Vampire then says he will kill her before he drinks from her and as he leans closer Mila tries to prepare for the death strike but then Mila hears a loud noise and his hands fall away from her and Mila’s mind is her own again. Mila starts a to faint and a pair of arms hold her up and it is Inspector Vincent Ferrer who is a cop but also a vampire but he lets her know he won’t hurt her. Then a couple more cops appear and take her to the station and explain the Vampire she had been on a date with was a serial killer and used V date to get his victims. Vincent couldn’t seem to stop staring at Mila. in the car, he hoped she hadn’t noticed. Mila ends up being put under Vincent’s protection as the serial killer Vampire- that Vincent and his fellow cops were trying to catch- has targeted Mila and he isn’t finished with her yet and she isn’t safe on her own, She ends up moving in with Vincent for her safety. Vincent is a three hundred year old Vampire and is haunted by his past as he had been engaged but his fiancee had been killed. Vincent never wanted to fall in love again. But Mila does charm Vincent more that anyone he had ever met.Vincent hasn’t felt this way in a very long time.
I loved this story. It was a fun, easy read and a great romance. It caught my attention right from the beginning - how could it not- and kept it until the end which I love by the way. I loved seeing both Mila and Vincent’s POV. I also loved them together. I didn’t want to put this book down. I also loved how Vincent interacted with his fellow cops. This made me chuckle at times and that is always good. I thought it was cute the way Mila tended to babble. I loved how Mila and Vincent had great chemistry but didn’t jump right into bed for some fast relief. I loved there was some suspense and danger as well as a great romance. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend.

Vampires in law enforcement, sort of an oddity but it works for Vincent. We met him in the first book as the guard at the secret club where Ronin is the owner. Now as a detective with Scotland Yard he has been chasing a murdering vampire and happens to fall for the almost victim. Mila finds vampires fascinating, more so after being saved by Vincent. Despite the danger she is in they manage to find plenty of time in the sheets. I found the first book exciting and unique but this one was a bit different. It seemed to focus more on their romance than the impending dangerous situation. I definitely enjoy Lyons style of writing as her characters are witty and snarky. I'm hoping another book will come out for Ronin and Cat. I received my copy through Netgalley and wrote my review voluntarily.

Drop Dead Gorgeous is the second book in the Bite Nights series by Juliet Lyons. I highly recommend this book. Although Mila Harper is sweet, naive, smart and funny she has very bad luck with men. For this reason she has given up on them. That's her reason for trying out V-Date. However, her luck has not changed. Her first date with a vampire goes horribly wrong. It's almost the last date of her life.
But this is where her luck changes. She is rescued by Vincent Ferer, a vampire police officer. We've got a bit of a crossover here: Dracula, the book by Bram Stoker, meets the first Beauty and the Beast television series. We've got Mila Harper (Mina Harker) and the honorable Vincent (Catherine Chandler's rescuer.) These speculations made the book that much more fun. I loved Mila's sense of humor and her babbling. Vincent was a sweetheart and very protective. They were an interesting pair. Vincent's colleagues are a hoot. I enjoyed this book very much. I look forward to reading the first and the, as yet unreleased, third book of the series.

This is my second book read in this series and I’m completely enjoying the stories! I tore up Paranormal Romance several years ago but sort of fell off on reading them, so these have been the first I've picked up in years. How I love the loathing, lonely, tortured vampire! Vincent isn't the saddest of them, in fact, he loves his job and that's something. He meets Mila after thwarting another vampire from murdering her during their "Tinder for Vampires" first date. Mila has been down and out on love, and almost being murdered is the topping on the cake. Vincent saves her and protects her and the story that follows was an easy, quickly moving and romantic read. It was funny, flirty, and steamy hot – Mila and Vincent spark! I do love the bite scenes; how can you not? *fans self* Setting up Ronan and Cat for the next book, I think, and that should be a fun read since they HATE each other madly! Highly entertaining!
