Mila was on a first date with a vampire she had contacted through V date which was a Vampire dating service. She had been in a two year relationship only to find the man was married. So Mila decided to try something new and different. Mila met the man for drinks at The World's End which was a very public place and she could be safe so she thought. The Vampire looked at her like she was a rare and exquisite gem. But mila was not attracted to him even though he was handsome. Then the Vampire mentions going outside for some air and Mila can’t seem to do anything but follow him into a alley. The Vampire then says he will kill her before he drinks from her and as he leans closer Mila tries to prepare for the death strike but then Mila hears a loud noise and his hands fall away from her and Mila’s mind is her own again. Mila starts a to faint and a pair of arms hold her up and it is Inspector Vincent Ferrer who is a cop but also a vampire but he lets her know he won’t hurt her. Then a couple more cops appear and take her to the station and explain the Vampire she had been on a date with was a serial killer and used V date to get his victims. Vincent couldn’t seem to stop staring at Mila. in the car, he hoped she hadn’t noticed. Mila ends up being put under Vincent’s protection as the serial killer Vampire- that Vincent and his fellow cops were trying to catch- has targeted Mila and he isn’t finished with her yet and she isn’t safe on her own, She ends up moving in with Vincent for her safety. Vincent is a three hundred year old Vampire and is haunted by his past as he had been engaged but his fiancee had been killed. Vincent never wanted to fall in love again. But Mila does charm Vincent more that anyone he had ever met.Vincent hasn’t felt this way in a very long time.
I loved this story. It was a fun, easy read and a great romance. It caught my attention right from the beginning - how could it not- and kept it until the end which I love by the way. I loved seeing both Mila and Vincent’s POV. I also loved them together. I didn’t want to put this book down. I also loved how Vincent interacted with his fellow cops. This made me chuckle at times and that is always good. I thought it was cute the way Mila tended to babble. I loved how Mila and Vincent had great chemistry but didn’t jump right into bed for some fast relief. I loved there was some suspense and danger as well as a great romance. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend.

Vampires in law enforcement, sort of an oddity but it works for Vincent. We met him in the first book as the guard at the secret club where Ronin is the owner. Now as a detective with Scotland Yard he has been chasing a murdering vampire and happens to fall for the almost victim. Mila finds vampires fascinating, more so after being saved by Vincent. Despite the danger she is in they manage to find plenty of time in the sheets. I found the first book exciting and unique but this one was a bit different. It seemed to focus more on their romance than the impending dangerous situation. I definitely enjoy Lyons style of writing as her characters are witty and snarky. I'm hoping another book will come out for Ronin and Cat. I received my copy through Netgalley and wrote my review voluntarily.

Drop Dead Gorgeous is the second book in the Bite Nights series by Juliet Lyons. I highly recommend this book. Although Mila Harper is sweet, naive, smart and funny she has very bad luck with men. For this reason she has given up on them. That's her reason for trying out V-Date. However, her luck has not changed. Her first date with a vampire goes horribly wrong. It's almost the last date of her life.
But this is where her luck changes. She is rescued by Vincent Ferer, a vampire police officer. We've got a bit of a crossover here: Dracula, the book by Bram Stoker, meets the first Beauty and the Beast television series. We've got Mila Harper (Mina Harker) and the honorable Vincent (Catherine Chandler's rescuer.) These speculations made the book that much more fun. I loved Mila's sense of humor and her babbling. Vincent was a sweetheart and very protective. They were an interesting pair. Vincent's colleagues are a hoot. I enjoyed this book very much. I look forward to reading the first and the, as yet unreleased, third book of the series.

Kris – ☆☆☆☆
This is my second book read in this series and I’m completely enjoying the stories! I tore up Paranormal Romance several years ago but sort of fell off on reading them, so these have been the first I've picked up in years. How I love the loathing, lonely, tortured vampire! Vincent isn't the saddest of them, in fact, he loves his job and that's something. He meets Mila after thwarting another vampire from murdering her during their "Tinder for Vampires" first date. Mila has been down and out on love, and almost being murdered is the topping on the cake. Vincent saves her and protects her and the story that follows was an easy, quickly moving and romantic read. It was funny, flirty, and steamy hot – Mila and Vincent spark! I do love the bite scenes; how can you not? *fans self* Setting up Ronan and Cat for the next book, I think, and that should be a fun read since they HATE each other madly! Highly entertaining!

Mila is not exactly lucky in love. After getting dumped by her (Surprise!) married boyfriend, she decides to try an undead dating service and finds herself with a hot vamp...who is a killer! Yikes! About to become her date’s next victim, she is rescued by Inspector Vincent Ferrer, who it turns out is also a vampire. A hot and yummy vamp! Of course, the killer gets away but doesn’t stay away. Now the only thing that can keep Mila safe is to stay with Vincent while they hunt down the killer vamp. These two are definitely feeling some attraction for each other. While they are having a little ‘fun’ playing house, Vincent has serious baggage from his past and doesn’t want to risk falling in love again. And keeping his distance just gets harder and harder…

Cute, fun and sweet. That's what Drop Dead Gorgeous is. Really, there isn't anything bad about those words. A bit sassy without a harsh bite, Mila is just adorable. Vincent has a sad history, is old school charming and is not up-to-date with pop culture. Throwing them together in his apartment made for hot and giggly reading. Temptations, temptations! It was sweet watching them fight their feelings but you knew all that smoldering heat was going to get in the way.

What would a story be without its secondary characters! I just loved what was happening between Ronin and Catherine. Here’s this scary vamp Ronin with the hots for Cat, and she wouldn’t give him the time of day if the world depended on it. Smirks! I see them getting their own story down the road. However, as funny as I found them to be, the comedic sidekick award goes to Vincent’s partner, Lee Davies. Nothing like a lovable, smart mouth, third wheel getting thrown in the same room as a blooming relationship to make things more fun.

The story itself was fairly simple. A heroine in danger, cop sets out to protect her from the killer, falls in love, yada-yada-yada. Honestly, Vincent’s past was not too surprising. Everything was falling in place and just a tiny bit predictable, until…! Yeah, I didn’t see that twist coming. Certainly made me pay more attention to the killer after that. Let’s not forget the this is a romance and an HEA ending is a requirement. Just expect more cute, fun and sweet. Drop Dead Gorgeous was a no-brainer read but still, I made for entertaining reading.

Drop Dead Gorgeous is book #2 of Juliet Lyons Bite Nights Series. This book is written in a first-person narrative with a POV story-line. Which wasn’t so bad once I got past being in either of the two main characters head. The plot-line was engaging and the romance between Mila and Vincent was out of this world hot. Only thing I didn’t like about this book was the ending. I can’t say too much without giving away spoilers. But the way it ended was a big disappointed tome, however, it may not to you or to others.
I can’t tell you if I like this book better than the first since this would be my first title that I read by this author. I can say that I did enjoy and most certainly will read more titles by this author.

'Drop Dead Gorgeous' by Juliet Lyons is the Second Book in The "Bite Nights" series. This is the story of Mila Hart and Vincent Ferrer. I have read the previous book but feel you can make this a standalone book.
Mila was looking for love but ended up with a dangerous date who nearly killed her. But luckily Vincent was on the case and saved her. Although this left Mila feeling down on love it was hard to fight the strong feelings that were making their way toward Vincent. Vincent is a cop but also a vampire. So Vincent has some old time ways.
I totally enjoyed this book and the interactions with the secondary characters. Very funny too.

This is a great book; this is the second book in the Bite Nights Series written by Juliet Lyons. Mila Hart’s first experience with the hot new vampire dating site is a complete disaster. Turns out, her date is wanted for murder! But things turn around when she’s rescued by dashing vampire cop Vincent Ferrer. Dangerous and drop dead gorgeous, he’s just the vampire hottie Mila was hoping for. Haunted by his past, Vincent can’t risk falling in love again, even if Mila charms him more than anyone he’s ever met. But when the killer from Mila’s first date seeks her out, Vincent is the only one who can protect her. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
Vincent has given up on love.
Mila is having her first date w/ a vampire.
It seems to be going well, except he was to suck my blood dry. Oh well !
Live & Learn !
Vincent saves Mila from a killer vampire, and now he can't get her out of his head.
The killer also could not get Mila out of his head,
That is how Vincent ended up assigned to protect Mila.
Vincent was already attracted to Mila, and he was trying to resist, but he was not strong enough
Even though there was danger involved, this was a totally romance novel
Loved the storyline, the characters, and the storytelling
The book grabbed me from the first page + was not gonna let me go until the last page.
( I did not mind it at all ! )

I liked this take on vampires. I also liked how the POV switched between the two characters. Great plot and world building. A nice series for paranormal lovers.

Protecting his heart is a different story...

Review:

It is a little fun, a little sexy with a little mystery and action thrown in for good measure. Mila is great! Loved her spunk and inner voice , but she has a terrible dating history...lol It really does not get better until she meets Vincent. Vincent has such a sad past that makes him leery of getting close to any female. I loved the ending for the two of them, I thought it was perfect a wove the story complete. Mila and Vincent have great chemistry too, though it takes them awhile to act on the chemistry. The suspense and mystery's surrounding the serial killer was nicely done and I like how it was tied in with V-Date.com. This is the second book and having read the first one, they can be read as stand alone titles and you would not be confused reading them. These are fun and sexy vampire romances with heart.

Loved the story and cannot wait to see whose book is next!

Mila Hart’s pitfalls with her dating life leads her to sign up on V-date, a vampire dating site. She ends up with a murderer her first time out ( talk about having a really having a crappy night!), but luckily for Mila, she’s rescued by Inspector Vincent Ferrer, a sexy vampire cop from the Metropolitan Police. She thinks all’s well that ends well..until (bad news)she realizes the killer isn’t finished with her just yet, but (good news) Vincent is assigned to protect her.

Mila was awkward cute with an adorably funny habit of babbling. While her knack for dating the worst guys around made me feel sorry for her, her upbeat personality made it hard to pity her for long. She just picks herself up and gets back on the horse so to speak.

Vincent had Old World charm and a charming sweetness I couldn’t resist! He can’t deny Mila anything, and it made him even sweeter to see what excuses he came up with when he starts purchasing stuff left and right for her. At the same time, he’s fighting their attraction since she’s his witness on the case.

I liked the chemistry between Mila and Vincent. The tension was well done, keeping things lively and on edge, while making me wonder when they would just give in and do the deed!

And I loved the supporting characters! Who knew Scotland Yard had such a sense of humor on staff? And Vincent’s friends Cat and Ronin..definite sparks burning that direction.

For the most part, I thought the story was delightfully comedic! There was a mildly serious overtone in regards to the criminal aspect, but the banter and quips between characters kept things light. The romance was spicy, the conversations amusing, and with a wildly entertaining supporting cast, I can say I was never bored and most definitely entertained!

Book two in the Bite Night series, I easily read this book as a stand alone.

This is the second installment in the PNR Bite Nite series. I have to confess that I haven't read the first book yet (although I'm going to). I didn't feel the story was impaired any by not having read the first book. It definitely works as a stand alone.

Mila decides to sign up on a Vampire dating site after giving up on humans. Only it turns into the worst date ever because her date tries to kill her. Thankfully, the cops intervene just in time to save her life. And not just any cop is first on the scene but Vincent, a very hot vampire cop.

I did not like the hero's POV. It was just a touch too feminine, or rather it was completely obvious his POV was written by a female. At one point he thinks "I yearn to fold her into my arms". And I get it that he's from another time but its still off putting. And after the first meet cute he brings her jacket home and puts in on the pillow next to his head so he can smell her while he sleeps. Creepy!

But I loved the female protagonist. She's funny and charismatic. Her POV kept me going. There was great chemistry & banter between Vincent and Mila. And the storyline was compelling with romance, humor and a murderer to catch.

Drop Dead Gorgeous is the second in the series but can be read standalone just fine. Mila has a history of failed dating experiences so figures to shake things up by giving V-Date a try. Her world is more than shaken up it explodes! She is rescued by the hottest guy she has ever seen who turns out to be a cop who happens to be a vampire.
I really enjoyed the interplay between Vincent and his cop buddies. Mila was cute and funny. Vincent had issues but wasn’t angsty about it. I really want Cat and Ronans story. Overall a fun, sexy, sweet read with a neat twist at the end.

DROP DEAD GORGEOUS was just what I needed! It is the second book in Juliet Lyons new paranormal series, the Bite Nights Series. The series is about a dating service for vampires and humans. In Juliet Lyon’s frictional world humans are aware of vampires. This is such a fun and sexy romance series and DROP DEAD GORGEOUS left me with a smile on my face. I loved Vincent, the hot vampire cop, and wanted to be friends with Mila. Hot romance, danger and some humor made this a great book. I recommend this series for paranormal lovers looking for a fun new vampire series. I’ll be grabbing the next release.

Ramblings:
The hero [Inspector Vincent Ferrer] and supporting characters [Superintendent Burke and Sergeant Davies] are somewhat reminiscent of Christie’s Poirot and his interactions with Inspector Japp and Captain Hastings. If you’ll remember, Japp worked for Scotland Yard. As do Ferrer, Burke, and Davies-with one major distinction: Ferrer’s a vampire!

Summary:
Mila Hart is done, D-O-N-E, dating married men [he lied/she didn’t know] and serial killers. The online dating site V-Date.com was to be the answer to all her romantic woes. Well, it was, up until her psychotic match tried to suck the life right out of her. A woman can overlook a guy’s imperfections for the sake of romantic bliss, but attempted murder? No can do!

When Mila meets Vincent she realizes that single women prefer blondes. And...what does she learn when she moves in with him? That 300 year old vamps really know how to bite!

Review:
Drop Dead Gorgeous is the second installment in the Bite Night series written by author Juliet Lyons. It’s a steamy, oftentimes freaky, but always funny take on the ups and downs of dating the undead. I enjoyed every second of the snarky heroine, and thought the secondary characters complimented the main characters. The vampire overlord, Ronin, will appeal to Klaus fans who watch “The Originals” and/or “The Vampire Diaries.”

The novel does flip between the hero’s POV and the heroine’s, but it doesn’t break the continuity. Context clues helped me with a few British terms, except for one. I had no clue what “are you taking the piss” meant. None. Whatsoever. Overall, it was a fun read that made me laugh. I’m all in for book three, That Killer Smile, which is set to release in Feb. of 2018.

You’ll like this story if:
You are a mature reader who enjoys PNR, snarky heroines, or forbidden love tropes. It’ll also appeal to adult readers who like Klaus from “The Originals” and/or the CW’s “The Vampire Diaries.”

This book was absolutely fantastic. I sat up and read the entire thing in one go because i could not bear to put it down.

Mila is a teacher, she has just been through a break up and is bored of normal life so she signs up to a dating service called vdate which pairs humans with vampires. She goes on the date but the vampire glamours her, takes her outside and is about to drain and kill her when a police officer chases him away and saves mila. The police officer vincent however is also a vampire and he is tasked with keeping mila safe as the killer vampire is still after her.

Without spoilers this was off the charts sexy, when the sexy bits happen and he bites her, you get so involved it was like it was happening to you.

What i also really liked about it was that it was set in London which was really a nice surprise. What i was really shocked at was that this is the 2nd book in the series and yet i didnt even feel as though i was missing out on information i just thought it was the 1st book, but i am now going to go and read the 1st one.

Thank you Juliet and Netgalley.

Mila Hart signed up for V-Date for a bit of an adventure. She had been living in Australia and dating the same guy for two years when he announced he was going back to Brazil to live with his wife, an ex-lingerie model, and his two kids. WTF? Poor Mila. Anyway, it’s her first V-Date and though it’s interesting she finds she’s not attracted to the guy, Jeremiah, at all. She’s having an awkward conversation with him when he mesmerizes/compels her to go outside with him where he almost kills her! She’s saved by Inspector Vincent Ferrar. While she didn’t have any attraction to her V-Date she is extremely attracted to the Inspector. Despite the attraction, after her initial interview at Scotland Yard, she decides not to assist them any further. Her “almost” killer is wanted for a few other deaths as well and Mila figures they’ll catch him without her help.

Mila changes her mind about her would-be killer when she comes home and finds that he’s tossed her apartment. This is especially scary because she never told him where she lived. She ends up staying temporarily at Vincent’s apartment and this ends up being the close quarters they needed to act on their attraction to one another. In fact, they can hardly be in each other’s company without ripping their clothes off.

When Vincent figures out there’s a lot more to the killer then just random killings he’s determined to stay with Mila 24/7 until the killer is caught.

This was another cute book by Juliet Lyons. I really liked book one in this series so I was excited when I got the chance to read book two. I did find that Drop Dead Gorgeous didn’t have the same humor in it that Dating the Undead did. This was a little disappointing as I really liked that about DtU.

I really like Vincent and Mila both separately and together. I was happy that they found each other and liked that they got their HEA. I didn’t care for the excessive amount of sex scenes in the book. I got that that’s what was pulling them together initially but after a while it just got incredibly old.

Despite that issue with the book I liked it and recommend it. I will definitely keep reading this series to see what happens next.

Mila has recently moved back home to London after finding out her Australian boyfriend was married. Thinking that another human will surely disappoint her, she signs up at V-Date.com, the vampire dating site. But her vampire date is pretty disappointing as well. He tries to kill her when they finish their drinks.

Fortunately, Vincent, a detective we met in the first book of the series, arrives in time to scare him off. Vincent and his colleagues are tracking a vampire serial killer who may still be targeting Mila. Since Vincent is a vampire himself, he decides he’s the only one who can protect Mila and takes her home with him.

And we all know how the forced cohabitation trope turns out, right? Vincent and Mila are an interesting couple though. He’s very philosophical and introspective, though not in a pretentious way like you might expect, while she’s all about the pop culture reference. And somehow that combination worked for me. I really enjoyed their romance.

I was a little bit surprised not to learn anything new about Lyons’s vampire mythos in this second book though. Vincent’s being a vampire is actually a very small part of the plot. It’s all about events in his past that come back to haunt them both. (Though obviously, the fact that they can come back hundreds of years later is only possible because he’s a vampire.) Still, I thought Drop Dead Gorgeous was much better than Dating the Undead. It’s set about three years later and mentions the earlier characters, though they don’t actually appear.

One of the things that I find so interesting about this series is its unique view of vampirism. All of its vampires seem to see it as a curse and none of their love interests want to be like them. Their ultimate HEA is becoming human and having babies and what happened to Logan at the end of the first book in the series has given them hope that it might be possible. Lyons seems to be setting up Ronin, one of the ancients, as the hero of the next book and I’m curious about how he might change that perspective.
