Girl goes on date with. Vampire. Vampire turns out to be serial killer. Girl saved by hot vampire detective. Need I say more? I had never read this author before, and even though this is part of a series it can be read as a stand alone. I will definitely be looking to read more of this series in the future, and I recommend that you do to. Enjoy!

I read this book yesterday, sometime before going to bed and there's something quirky and interesting about the relationship between Mila and Vincent.
Before I start babbling, let me break it down: there's a site like Tinder, it's called V-date and here you can go on a date with a vampire. Mila does this after breaking up with her boyfriend and her first date turns out to be a serial killer. He takes her out to an alley to kill her but before he does so, detectives show up and save her- one of them happens to be the hot-blonde, Vincent. So, now you get where I'm going with this right?
"Why are you out here?"
"It's your bedroom, Miss Hart. It wouldn't be right for me to enter."
"Exactly what year did you say you were born in?"
"I didn't. But it was the eighteenth century."
"Ah. You're worried about my reputation."
"Old habits die hard."
Yeah, I'm not big on vampire romance. I am more into shifters, faeries and warlords but I couldn't stop reading this book because whereas Vincent is calm and ever the gentleman, Mila stumbles upon her words and she has this adorable babbling nature. It escalates their attraction and at some point, it gets Vincent to embrace a bit of pop culture.
I also loved Vincent's partners in the force, who knew that Scotland Yard Inspectors could tease and banter as much?
This book serves some major heat and inasmuch as it was an awesome story, the ending did not quite go as I'd hoped yeah I'm not the writer, I know but I do wish that the plot would not have included the desire to meet halfway between with one trying to be human the other wanting immortality...it's been done so many times, and the introduction of a witch showed promise, but sadly it just did not save the ending from being a cliche.
What I'd love to read is Cat and Ronin's story, she's tough as nails and he's a persistent ancient and I'm just sizzling knowing those two could be an ultimate read. It was a pleasure having received an arc from NetGalley in exchange for an honest outlook and review on the book.

So awesome! Definitely a read alone, even though it's part of a series you don't feel like you missed out.

Romancing the Undead

Paranormal Romance, Ebook
HOT
3 Star
Juliet Lyons is back with book two in her paranormal romance series-V-Date.Com-with a new online couple whose meet cute involves a serial killer, a guilt ridden cop, and a woman with poor taste in men. The action packed introduction comes racing out of the gate with a strong, intriguing set up but it soon loses speed and falls off track. Sadly, this story doesn’t quite have the same charm or energy that book one had. The hero and heroine are well matched physically and emotionally but they come off too needy and insecure. The romance is highly sexual, eclipsing the main storyline and leaving little room for the conflict to develop. A personable secondary cast offers depth, humor, and arc advancement but I was disappointed to see the villain regulated to being nothing more than a plot device.
SUMMARY:

She is the first woman to draw his eye in a long time but his guilt over his first love and vampiric past keeps him from getting to close to her. Mila decides to use the V Dating Service and is enjoying her first date with a vampire when she realizes that he is about to take her outside to kill her. A vampire policeman, Vincent, happens to be nearby and intervenes saving Mila. Vincent has never met anyone like the spunky brash gorgeous Mila and is entranced by her. His job is to protect her, and he wants to be professional, but their mutual chemistry is too hard to ignore. Fun and sexy paranormal romance!

Smoking hot, amazing sexy chemistry. Mila and Vincent have such a fun and charismatic relationship, you can almost feel the stem coming off the page the instant that they met. Mila was on a date with a vampire; the first date with a vampire that did not turn out how she planned it, it brought someone that she did not think she needed into her life though. The words flowed magically off the page and captivated me from beginning to end. Thank you NetGalley and Juliet Lyons for allowing me to read and honestly review this book.

Drop Dead Gorgeous was a great read and although it is part of a series this book can be read as a standalone. I absolutely loved the first book but this one also did not disappoint. This book gives us Mila and Vincent's story and I enjoyed reading their journey to becoming a couple. Of course, no paranormal read is smooth sailing and this book is no different. Revenge is a strong motivation and anyone in the way becomes fair game. The ending was sweet and I enjoyed it a lot. I definitely look forward to reading more books from this author.

OMG this book.
I read the blurb of this book I really wanted to read this book and was very happy when I got an ARC thanks to Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca.
I loved, loved, loved this book. I fell in love with Mila and especially Vincent. I was almost sad when I finished the book. This book is now a part of my favorites. I can't wait to read more of Juliet Lions' books.

After Dating the Undead I was already keeping my eye out for Romancing the Undead (as was to be part 2 in the V-Dating series. But then I found it on Netgalley under Drop Dead Gorgeous. Yay! So I dug in to see who was trying to date another vampire via the V-Dating website.
Mila decides to try to date a vampire. After all the bad luck dates and loser guys, a vampire is maybe more what she needs. Well, it turns out, your luck can even go more bad when dating a vampire, when he tries to kill you!
Luckily she is rescued by another vampire, Vincent Ferrer. He is a vampire cop, trying to catch her date, since he is a serial killer. But while Mila is swooning over the hot cop who rescued her, Vincent is trying to guard his already broken heart. But when the serial killer tries to finish the job, Vincent is forced to take Mila in as his new roommate, to protect her.
Being forced together and having to pretend to be boyfriend and girlfriend is not very easy, when you try to keep a professional distance. The tension goes through the roof and Vincent colleagues aren't very helpful (yet very funny).
While sparks fly all over the place, the killer isn't sitting idle by. So Vincent has to use all available sources to find the bad guy. Including his ancient (that's the vampire who turned him over 300 years ago) Ronin. But favours aren't granted cheap. Soon Vincent is forced to face his painful past. And maybe, the killings aren't all that random as they appear. Could ghosts from the past be really reappearing?
Find out in the second part of the V-dating series. Four out of five stars from me! And hopefully Ronin gets his own story in part 3. With a special thank you to Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for providing the arc.

Whenever I pick up a series after the first title, I get a little worried. There were allusions to the first book in here, but I was glad to see that I wasn't completely lost.
The whole idea behind this is kind of genius: it's modern dating. As someone who met her fiance online, it's kind of hilarious to read a book that's about vampires online dating. Plus, vampires are generally hotties these days, so there is that, too.
Mia's first date with a vampire goes south pretty quickly after her online date puts her in a trance True Blood style and tries to rip her throat out in the alley behind the restaurant. To his credit, he does apologize beforehand (awwwww).
Enter: Vincent Ferrer, AKA superhunk cop 2017 who saves her life and literally sweeps her off her feet. And doesn't want to let go. After her attacker escapes and starts making threats, he really does come to her rescue.
The ending seemed a little rushed. I don't know how I feel about the whole "Three Years Later" thing. Their story probably could have been referenced in the next book of the series, instead of having that little vignette. I could see how some readers would be into it, if they want to know right now how the couple fares, but I'm more of a slow-reveal kinda gal. It was also weird that it didn't talk about what the vampire cure was, just that there was some vamp witch that *might* be able to help them. I wanted it to be fleshed out a bit more.

"<i>What a world, when you can't even trust the dead ones.</i>"
Earlier this year I randomly requested a book by an author I had never heard of and devoured what turned out to be book one in the <i>V-Date.com</i> series. I was totally delighted by the story, surprised it was her debut, and couldn't wait for more. Just recently I was similarly lucky enough to be approved for book two and knew I wouldn't be able to wait long before diving in. And lo and behold here we are.
"<i>Why are you out here?</i>"
"<b>It's your bedroom, Miss Hart. It wouldn't be right for me to enter.</b>"
"<i>Exactly what year did you say you were born in?</i>"
"<b>I didn't. But it was the eighteenth century.</b>"
"<i>Ah. You're worried about my reputation.</i>"
"<b>Old habits die hard.</b>"
I will confess that I didn't love ROMANCING THE UNDEAD as much as DATING THE UNDEAD but it wasn't because of the characters. Vincent was a genteel dreamboat and Mila was kind of a mess but in an adorable awkward babbling but genuine way. I liked how they tried to resist each other because of their circumstances -- Mila being under Vincent's protection as she had been targeted by a serial killing vampire that Vincent and his detective buddies were hunting down -- but was glad when they didn't try <b>too</b> hard. These two definitely know how to burn it up between the sheets.
"<i>We moved in together, then we slept together, and now I'm meeting your mother. [..] Maybe when this is over, we can do things how people normally would.</i>"
"<b>What, sleep with me and then ignore my text messages?</b>"
But the laugh out loud humour that I loved from Lyons first book wasn't as present. There were still amusing exchanges or moments but it was a more serious plot, I guess? I did, however, love Vincent's fellow Scotland Yard inspectors and all their banter and quirks.
"<i>I don't own a tv.</i>"
"<b>Oh my god. No wonder it took you people so long to be accepted into society.</b>"
Along with the lack of elle-oh-elle humour, I was also a little disappointed by the ending. Don't get me wrong, it's ridiculously sweet and gooey and I'm really happy about it, but I kinda thought things might go Mila's way instead of Vincent's. I understand why they didn't but it was just a little too similar to the resolution in book one. I wanted something different.
"<i>For a creature who's been around since the dawn of time, you're surprisingly inept when it comes to dating. I've known five-year-olds with a better grasp of emotional maturity.</i>"
That being said I had a fun time reading this one, it was a sweet and sexy romp, and man I hope Cat and Ronin's book is next. That'll shake up the formula a bit but also.. I just loved the hate-on she has for him. I want more of that. We got a taste of their history but that just has me hungry for more. This is definitely a new to me author I'll keep picking up and I can't wait for more!
3.5 "the worst thing about giving your secret vampire protector a blow job in his Porsche is you can't tell a damn soul about it" stars

A big thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the ARC for my honest review. Since the book won't be out for a while-no spoilers. This is the 2nd book in the series. I have not read any books previously by this author. I would say that this reads like a stand alone. I enjoyed it and I feel that most people who like paranormal romance will enjoy this book. Give it a try and let me know. Happy reading.

Readers are going to want to sink their fangs into Drop Dead Gorgeous! It's a fun and exciting paranormal story that took me by surprise! It also left me wanting more. I can't wait to see what the author comes up with next!
Full review will be posted on all sites come release day!

I received this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is book two in a series by Juliet Lyons which focuses on relationships with Vampires and humans. I had not read the first in the series but I really didn't need to to follow the story. It was an intersting take on people being forced together for protection that turns to love. The story was kind of slow at times but interesting enough to keep me reading just wasn't over the moon about it.
