The story of Madison and Luke is a sizzling hot tale that shows what happens when opposites attract and hook up! Although this story has lots of hot scenes it isn't lacking in emotional depth. Both Madison and Luke have come of painful pasts which have affected them. The heat is interlaced with emotion that makes this story and wonderful read.

This book is amazing and hot! Chelle Bliss and Meredith Wild did an amazing job writing this book.
After divorcing her Hollywood Hotshot husband, Madison flees to the small town of Avalon Springs. Three weeks of of nature and no technology is what she needed. What she didn't expect was Luke.
Luke Dawson has lived off the grid ever since he retired from the Navy. Stumbling upon city girl Madison was not what he had planned. Can opposites attract or will they're differences tear them apart?
I loved every thing about this book. From Luke's man bun to Madison's love for him. This is a definite must read!

What about a hot fling with a sexy mountain man wouldn't restore the self-confidence of a heartbroken woman? Newly divorced from a Hollywood hotshot, Madison Atwood needed to get away from it all. Away from the headlines, the paparazzi, and everything that reminded her of her cheating ex. Finding solitude in a mountain spa was exactly what she thought she needed. That was until the hottest man she'd ever known found her bathing naked in the hot springs in his property. Sure she had wondered off into the woods, but she believed she was in the spa still. Not. So. Much. A day later when she tries to apologize for her mishap, Madison finds Luke Dawson in a compromising position, that of masturbating to thoughts of her. But why do that, when the muse of his wet dreams suddenly appeared in front of him? And so a hot fling ensues... Misadventures of a City Girl brings together a war veteran with serious PTSD and a City Girl with some trauma of her own. Together they find lust before love, hot amazing sex, which they both needed very much, and a chance at happiness if they can grab it. A sexy read for sure.

Soo...I might be in the minority here but I am feeling middle of the road with this one. This is about Madison, a busy city girl that goes on a retreat out in the woods where she stumbles across Luke. I love the characters and I like the storyline, it is something different that I haven't yet read. There were just a few scenes that I couldn't suspend belief enough to enjoy them. That might come off as harsh but there was so much to love about the book that I didn't feel like the super umrealistic scenes were needed. Overall I still enjoyed the experience and I will be reading more in the series.

I bought a signed copy of Misadventures of a City Girl at the Bookworm Box last summer before it even came out but never got a chance to read it until grabbing it from the Audible Romance Package last month. I figured you can’t go wrong with two powerhouses like Chelle Bliss and Meredith Wild.

“Today I am Madison Atwood, and the next chapter of my life is going to start at Avalon Springs.”

Madison is a makeup artist to the stars who just had a messy divorce from a Hollywood bigwig. Looking to get away from the paparazzi, she heads to a fancy mountain resort.

Not realizing the resort is very social, Madison just wants some alone time so she hikes off and finds some secluded hot springs to soak in. When Luke Dawson finds a gorgeous naked woman in his spring, he can’t help but watch her.

Luke is an ex Navy SEAL with PTSD who lives in a secluded mountain cabin to be as far away from society as possible. He’s not a fan of having the city folk on his mountain, but can’t deny his attraction to Madison.

When circumstances push the two together, holy shit, sparks fly. What follows is some HOT sex. And more sex. And even more sex.

Luke is attentive and amazing, and who could help falling in instalove with this bear of a man.

“If I shiver, he envelops me in his arms until the cold evaporates. If my stomach growls, he hops from the bed and fixes me something to eat. If I yawn, he carries me to the bed and whispers in my ear until my eyes flutter closed. He doesn’t smother me with his actions, but makes me feel adored and important—something I’m not used to feeling anymore.”

Let me make this clear, this book was more novella than novel, and more sex than story. It was a quick, hot, instalove story, but it was well-written and fun for what it was. I would have loved to have had more character background and development, but there was a ton of swoony romantic moments as well as hot sex to make up for some of it.

“Loving Madison has become the sole reason for my existence.”

Can the recluse and the Hollywood girl find a way to stay together?

Likes:
Well written
A quick read.
Very romantic and swoony.
Lots of very hot sex.
Great Narration.
Seamless writing. There is no indication it was written by two.
Dislikes:
More sex than story.
Very little background on the characters.
Instalove is one thing, but intsa-change-your-whole-life is another.
His PTSD feels magically cured.
The Narration:
I really loved Jennifer Mack as a Narrator and don’t think I’ve heard her before. Lance Greenfield did a great job but was a very, very small part overall.

The Down & Dirty:
All in all Misadventures of a City Girl was a very sexy, quick, and not very deep read, which is I think what the Misadventures books all are. If you are looking for a quick book with a hot mountain man, and lots of sexy times, you’ll enjoy this one, but I was hoping for a little more depth.
Rating: 3 Stars, 4.5 Heat, Narration 5

I loved Luke so much. Madison was just what he needed, and she needed him just as much. Together they were one smoking hot couple with a lot of heart thrown in!

This series is like my set of guilty pleasure/escape from reality books. There's not a huge amount to the storyline but it's enough that it managed to pull me in and I had to read it in one sitting. I enjoyed the characters, the steamy scenes were ok but got to be a bit repetitive after awhile.
I'm definitely going to check out more from the series as they become available.

***Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read the ARC***

I loved Madison and Luke. I enjoyed the story but I wish it was longer because their romance just felt a bit too fast paced. A longer book would have gotten into their backstories more and slowed the pace down. The sex scenes could have been cut down too. I’m not a prude but I don’t think there had to be so many. I would read more by the authors though.

Madison and Luke have a great story. City girl meets mountain man, tries to leave mountain man but falls in love along the way. I loved the flow of this book, the strength of the characters and the mix of pasts and present. Thank you for a great read.

While I really enjoyed this book and fell head over heels for Luke I was a little let down after seeing all the hype. It was a good read but not something I’d want to read over and over. I felt like the plot lacked a certain depth that I was craving. I did enjoy the POV switch between Madison and Luke and that it showed not only what was going on but each persons feelings about certain situations.

This was a very, very quick read, I honestly did'nt know until I was done. I liked the concept but it fell a little short towards the end. I felt that both characters stories could have been fleshed out a little bit more. I will look for other books by this author.

I had been waiting for this book for so long!! It was one of the very first books I requested, I absolutely love Chelle books I've read them all! But this one didn't really do anything for me?! It was very Insta love/lust i usually don't mind that but I didn't enjoy it in this book. It was an ok read in not really sure what I didn't like but like I said it wasn't my favorite at all ! Thank you NetGalley and Waterford press for sharing this book with me!

I’ve read quite a few of the Misadventures series, this is my least favorite. Only saving grace was Luke, enjoyed his character a lot, and I’m all for hot steamy sex, but this was a bit much, and there wasn’t much to the story for the first 3/4th of the book except sex! Didn’t care for Madison at all, she just didn’t do anything for me, i loved Susan (emotional),Susie (freaking adorable), and the end was very romantic.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book

My rating scale:
5☆ - I loved this book and it brought out true emotion in me (laughter, anger, a good cry, etc)
4☆ - I loved this book.
3☆ - I liked this book.
2☆ - I didn't really care for this book.
1☆ - I did not like this book at all and probably did not finish it.

Let me start by saying I have only read one book by Chelle Bliss and I haven't read anything by Meredith Wild. That is about to change! I opened this book on my kindle just a couple of hours ago and couldn't stop. Literally. I did absolutely nothing but devour it in it's entirety.

A quick, easy, hot read that will leave you wanting to book a vacation getaway in the mountains.

I fell in love with Luke and Madison and their story. It's a story about not letting your past dictate your future and finding that happy middle ground.

I can't wait to check out more of the books in the Misadventures series!

I've got a bunch of these 'Misadventures' books to read and if they're anything like this one, I'm in for a great time! My heart went out to Madison. The deterioration of her relationship with her ex had her questioning her value, had her suffering from self-doubt, and left her lost and confused as to her identity. As for Luke, serving his country left him with the need for isolation. He found it hard to assimilate, which made him a loner. When Madison went on a trip to find herself again, she found herself on Luke's property, and that's when their story began. It was sweet and incredibly hot and I was so happy that they were each able to complete the other. Through compromise, they ended up being just who the other needed.

2 stars

Synopsis: Madison has just had her divorce finalized. Her ex-husband cheated on her in a public manner, and she wants to just escape from the circle of their mutual friends and acquaintances, so she books a spa up in the mountains. When she arrives, the spa is more group oriented than she thought it would be, so she leaves on her own and finds a pool. She is startled by a man, and goes looking for him the next day.
Luke was a Navy Seal, and has PTSD. He solves that by moving to the wilderness away from people. When Madison walks in to his cabin and finds him satisfying himself, their attraction to each other takes off. But Madison is a city girl, and Luke can't really be around people.

What I liked: that Madison gained confidence after how her ex treated her, and that Luke was the one who gave her that confidence. I also liked that, once they realized that they had something serious, they were both willing to compromise.

What I didn't like: this story was 80% nookie time. I may have missed some story, since I started skipping the unending nookie, and they may have talked in between rounds. They went from strangers to "I love you" really, really fast, and seemed to have nothing in common but sexual attraction.

Notes: told in present tense alternating 1st person POV.
