City loving heroine finds her way back to herself by getting lost in the woods. Mountain man Luke is her ex-Navy Seal rescuer. They find happiness in the middle ground between the bright lights and dark woods. I enjoyed their commitment to building a sustainable relationship in this story. Their HEA was constructed carefully by the two lovers through compromise and putting each other first. It also had some very hot sex which is appreciated. Enjoyed It!

I loved reading the fabulous second book in the Misadventures series by two amazing authors. I voluntarily reviewed a copy through NetGalley. While Madison is trying to get over her heart-breaking divorce, she goes on vacation, gets lost in the woods, and spends hot and steamy intimate time with Luke. Read the highly recommended and wonderfully written captivating romance.

I loved this book--so much fun and a great light read for an airplane home. I could relate to many of the situations in the book, and I can't wait to recommend this to everyone!

This was a fun and easy read! I finished it in one sitting and can see myself re-reading. I Enjoy reading about what might happen when two strangers meet!

I was super excited for the new Misadventures series. I love it when authors come together for a fun series of sorts (although all of the Misadventure books can be read as standalones). That being said, I have to tell you that I specifically love Meredith Wild & Chelle Bliss! So, Misadventures of a City Girl was a no brainer for me to one-click.

I did not get very far into Misadventures of a City Girl before I had to put it down. I did not click with this book at all. I thought that it was just me so I asked a few others and they too said that this was not one of their favorites. I cannot even tell you what I didn’t like about it. It just didn’t work for me.

I do have the rest of the Misadventures series on my kindle so I am not going to judge the entire series by this one book. As I said before, they are all standalones.

Just because it didn’t work for me, doesn’t mean that it won’t work for you. Take a chance and try it for yourself.

Our heroine, Madison, needs to get away from the pain and humiliation of a scandalous divorce from her ex-husband. She finds a secluded retreat-style resort where she can unplug and gather her thoughts for a month. Our Hero, Luke, has retreated from society and lives off the land in the mountain above the resort since returning from active duty. Luke happens upon Madison when she unknowingly trespasses onto his property. Thinking she's in the secluded woods, she starts pleasuring herself and startles when she realizes Luke is watching her. Luke is likewise distracted with thoughts of Madison while he's chopping wood and takes a break to relieve the pressure in his groin. As luck would have it, that's when Madison walks into his cabin. Score is now even!
This book is told from alternating POV so we are privy to the silent struggles each wrestle with because their life styles are so vastly different and yet they enjoy each other's company...and Madison's time on the mountain has an expiration date of sorts. Madison can't stay on the mountain, essentially doing nothing, for the rest of her life, and the big city scares Luke since he retreated to the mountains originally to get away from noises and sounds that could trigger his PTSD.
I loved how their relationship developed, but felt the ending wrapped up too suddenly and neatly which is why I rated it 4 stars.

I like how were get to view the story from Madison and Luk’s POV. I think it gives it a good little twist and, quite honestly, I’m always a fan of multiple POV’s. I know some don’t like them but I’m not one of those that don’t. In this story, even if it doesn’t pick up immediately where the other person left off, it’s because we’re rehashing the others feelings during a certain event that already happened to the other person in the previous chapter. For instance, *SPOILER* in Madison’s chapter Madison runs away and Luke rescues her, then in Luke’s chapter we start back with his feelings when Madison ran away.

The main thing I had a problem with is that with this novel there wasn’t a heavy, dramatic plot twist. There wasn’t a reason why they shouldn’t be together. Or a big, heart wrenching moment. Obviously, the two will end up together. It’s romance. But, to me, there was no purpose. There was no drive. The thing keeping them “apart” was her being from the city and him being from BFE. *SPOILER* Y’all. They were apart for six hours, I think? And then Luke bought a plane ticket because he couldn’t be away from her. Oh, okay.

The Misadventures series are very quick reads if you’re looking for something to pass a couple of hours or fall in love with. Either way.

3.5 HOT MOUNTAIN MAN stars.

Another book that I like from the Misadventures series.
This one is about a mountain man and a city girl, one can't live in the city, the other can't live without it. Yup the story is so captivating, I can't put it down from the beginning.
It's a fast-paced read full of sweet and hot moments, not much drama happening and there's something that I think is unnecessary, but I still really enjoying this book.

As for characters, I loveeee Luke, he'll do anything for the one he loves, even if it makes him out of his comfort zone, I love this man from the get go.
And Madison, well I kinda hate her for what she did at the beginning and it feels like Luke is doing a lot of sacrificing more than her, I felt that she doesn't do anything much for Luke, it's like everything is for her, well if Luke is happy, I'm okay with it.

If you're looking for a fast-paced sweet romance read, this book is the one.

The instalust is real with this one! Wow! And who wouldn't be? Luke Dawson is a rugged fantasy that came to life for Madison who's at a very low point in her life.

The chemistry is off the charts hot but more importantly, the connection between the main characters made sense amidst all the sexy times. Both made a real effort to know one another and sort through their feelings. Their vulnerability and care for each other is palpable.

4 scorching hot stars!

Freshly divorced, Madison Atwood needs to escape. The paparazzi are everywhere and her love life is all over the papers and tabloids, she runs away to a retreat in North California. Avalon Springs is exactly what she needs to feel like herself again.

Luke Dawson lives off the grid. When he finds Madison soaking in the hot springs on his property, he can't help but watch her.

When Madison finds Lukes cabin, he can't turn her away. She needs to feel wanted, and he needs to feel the touch of a woman again. Then mother nature forces them to spend more than just one night together. When it's all over, will they be able to stay apart?

I don't read too many steamy romances, it's not really my thing. But I've read a book or two of Meredith Wild's books so I wanted to pick this one up. Look no further if you're looking for a book with sex scenes and sizzling romance rather than a romantic comedy.

I really enjoyed Luke as a character. This book was a really good quick, happy read. Highly recommend!

The story bounces back and forth between Madison and Luke. You see the world through their eyes in turn. It's a solid enough story, not one that'll blow your mind in terms of uniqueness. But that's not what it's meant to do. It's erotica. It's meant for other things. Though I understand that thought process, I do appreciate a story. This one didn't have one. Still though, the story, in erotica has to at least be the bonus cherry on top, and this one was satisfactory enough to be that.
Nicely written sex scenes.
The characters were explored enough to not feel one dimensional.

Probably the least realistic book I've ever read in my life. Maybe I'm a prude, but do people really go from staring at each other in the woods to banging all over the place in such a short period of time? I prefer a slow build.

This is a fun, fast read. If you're looking for a way to escape for a few hours and like a steamy romance with an uncomplicated, fun story then you should give this one a go.

This was an excellent collaboration read from Meredith and Chelle which proved that opposites can attract and their chemistry can be off the charts! Meredith is a city girl with a busy career who decides to take a "time out" for herself following her divorce. Luke lives in isolation in a rustic cabin at the top of a mountain. He loves the peace and solitude that helps him cope with his PTSD the result of his tours of duty as a navy SEAL. Suddenly his peace is shattered as Meredith crashes into his life. What follows is the story of two people who fall in love and adapt their lives to create a new reality which works for both of them. Their love scenes and passion for each other was really beautifully written.I highly recommend this book but keep some tissues handy!
