Madison is seeking refuge from a messy public divorce, Luke is an ex-seal with severe PTSD

Luke is an ex-SEAL with extremem PTSD, living in a cabin with literally nothing, an off-the-grid mountain man. Madison has booked a spa retreat to get out of the public eye after her divorce from a Hollywood cheater. She immediately hates the place upon arrival, so goes for a walk by herself in the woods and finds the hot springs. And immediately from here (3% in my Kindle) the story gets ridiculous. She decides to masterbate right in the middle of the springs, he catches her, then she wanders to his cabin, where she just walks in, and finds him masturbating. Then they have lots of sex. And that's it.

There is no plot at all, they're perfectly happy to sit in his cabin with nothing and have sex. They are instantly and creep-ily co-dependent. There is some extremely poor dialogue, whose sole purpose is to just move the story from one sex scene to another. At the end of all this, all issues between the city girl / mountain man are miraculously solved and all's well. A book with lots of sex is one thing. But at least give me some plot and dialogue to go along with it!

Mmmmm.... Lucky To Have Luke!

This book was a scorcher, an off the charts sizzling read. I haven’t read a book with this much “heat-hotness” in a while and it was yummy.

The authors set the tone of the book by defining the two main characters and their back stories in between meeting one another and it goes from there. Just when you see the gentle side of Luke, BAM, you see the real naughty side which goes the same for Madison too.

“Say yes to me, Madison, and mean it. Then all you’ll feel is me worshipping you. I can promise there’ll be no room for him in your thoughts when I’m inside you.”

I’m a sucker for a hot Book Boyfriend in the middle of the woods. I don’t come across too many and this one was real good. I thought that maybe there would be a little more drama to the story with something/someone from either one of their pasts but that didn’t really quite happen. There was one random part that came out of left field and it was good because it brought something to the plot but I guess I wanted to see claws or anything random. Both their pasts are really interesting, you have an ex wife of a rock star and an ex Navy Seal with serious issues so it could’ve been possible. That’s perfectly fine though because it was a very easy, enjoyable read and didn’t hinder my reading thought process one bit. So it’s that simple and we don’t always need angst here and there all the time, I guess some of us are just used to it.

“I love your body. Every beautiful inch of it. I love the way you try to protect me, even though I have no need for it. I love that you try to do things your own way, even when it’s idiotic and ill-timed.”

This is the start to a series of AMAZING books! All of these “Misadventure” books have completely spellbinded me. I am officially addicted - they are just guaranteed a nice cozy, romantic read where you begin reading the book and just want to dive in and completely submerse yourself in it. This book was the kickstart and what a kickstart it is!!

Ladies, Thank You! Meeting Luke Dawson was “an inferno full of panty melting”!

This is a cute love story. Nothing ground breaking and not a lot of conflict or interesting dialogue or plot. It reminded me of the red sugar water people put in hummingbird feeders, bad long term for them, but pretty to look at the hummingbirds. If you are in the mood for a quick mood lift on par with eating a simple sugar candy then this is the book for you. However, considering the mood of many patrons these days perhaps that is exactly what book readers occasionally need for a lift of spirits. I'd recommend it to those looking for a light and fluffy read.

Gahh! Meredith Wild and Chelle Bliss are outstanding writers on their own with a doubt. But when they write together, it ismpure fireworks!!! I FLOVED this book. It was sweet and sassy but also so sexy. I loved how the hero and heroine needed to find themselves and in the process found each other. This was amazing and I can't wait to devour the entire Misadventure series. Bravo!!! 4.5 stars!

I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book for an honest review!

This book was just so predictable and average.

Big fan of Chelle Bliss and first time reader of Meredith City. Misadventures is the first book in the Misadventures series. City girl Madison has had no luck in the love department so she leaves the city to try to find her self and what she finds is something she was not even looking for. Luke is a mountain man who just wants to be alone. They both get what they thought they did not even want but sometimes life decides for you and you end up getting everything you thought would never happen.

Luke is on his mountain away from people after years in the military. Madison is hurting after her high profile divorce from a Hollywood leading man that turned to be a dud. When Madison decides to go to a hippie resort to get away from the shame and hurt her jerk ex-husband brought her, she meets Luke. nature intervenes and they spend some time together, but can it last? A very exciting start for the Misadventures series!

Misadventures of a City Girl was well written & a great story. Madison & Luke were fabulous to read about. Madison wants to get away from city live for awhile & goes to the mountainside. Luke likes living in the mountainside alone. Madison finds Luke's property by accident & then finds Luke. Will they let each other into their lives & for how long? Meredith Wild & Chelle Bliss wrote a wonderful story.

This was a great fast read by one of my favorite authors, Meredith Wild, with an introduction to author Chelle Bliss as well. I read it in one day and that hasn't happened in a while. Half the book is sex, but the romance is also sweet and it's a great story of two broken souls who come together to heal.

Madison is spending 4 weeks at some hippie retreat in Northern California after finalizing her divorce from a Hollywood actor that cheated on her. She'd been with the guy since they were in high school, so she was pretty heartbroken and needed to just get away. However, when she arrives at the retreat, she quickly realizes that it's not going to be that relaxing given all the people and activities. So she adventures out the first day, ends up at the hot springs, naked and in a compromising position when Luke spots her and of course scares her.

Luke is a former Navy SEAL living in the mountains all alone since he can't handle city living due to his PTSD. He's seen and done things that he doesn't think makes him fit to be around people, much less a woman. When he sees Madison lounging naked on a rock though, he finds himself immediately attracted to the beautiful woman.

Things heat up very quickly with these two and it's hot. They pretty much have sex every chance they get. Luke is one hot mountain man, that's for sure. And Madison is fierce and protective of her mountain man, which was incredibly sweet. Their relationship developed really quickly, but it was believable. They just had that undeniable chemistry and were obviously meant to be together. Int he end, they both compromised and came up with a way that made their relationship work, despite Luke's dislike of the city and Madison's need to not be stuck in the middle of nowhere.

The premise of this book is a sweet story of how a down-in-the-depths City girl, Madison, finds her other half in mountain man Luke. There’s electricity between the two right away and embroil in lots of sex. Now I don’t mind stories full of sex but failed to see what developed in Madison and Luke’s relationship that changed lust into love. At least the kind that will survive a marriage.

I received a free copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I have to be honest, I didn't love this book. In fact I read the first half, got bored with it, left it for a few months and then finally finished it because I thought I should give it a chance.

This book is really just an average romance with all the standard features like impossibly gorgeous characters, far-fetched scenarios and way to much unbelievable sex. To be frank, it bored me and there was nothing special about it to set it apart from all the other contemporary romance also-rans out there. Lovers of fantastical romances and fairytale happy-ever-afters will probably love this (it appears many do, judging by the number of 5-star reviews it has), but if you're on the more practical side, then it might be a bit to over the top to really get carried away by the story.

I found a few too many scenes and storylines that didn't really fit in, like the scene in the bar and the one with Madison's ex-mother-in-law. It was as if they were being used as plot devices to push the story to a desired point and weren't really a part of the storyline as a whole. They were introduced, dealt with and finished without affecting the story either side of them.

I would recommend this to romance readers who don't mind far-fetched stories and can endure all the sex scenes, which just become repetitive after a while. I doubt I'll read any of the authors' other work or the other books in this collection. Sorry, just not for me.

I guess you truly shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, I was expecting a bit more romance and plot but this was pretty much pure smut. I have no problem with that and I've never read anything by these authors before so maybe I would have known more of what to expect if I had. Everything was there to add some story to the sex (the cheating ex-husband, PTSD from his time as a SEAL) but I didn't feel they were adequately used. It was like her nether regions were sprinkled with magic fairy dust and cured him.

A Hollywood stars ex-wife visits a spa and, while taking a walk off the beaten path, meets up with a "hermit". What could they possibly have in common? Meredith (the city girl) learns that there is more to life than the big city and there is more than nature to be found on the road less travelled.

Misadventures of a City Girl was a quick and easy read that starts off the Misadventures series. Luke and Madison's story was a whirlwind romance of two people from opposite worlds. Luke relishes in and prefers his solitude in the California mountains and Madison's Hollywood style life in L.A. has her in the spotlight and tabloids. Now that she needs to get away to regroup while she heals from heartache, her time in North California offers her the seclusion she needs to give her life the reset she needs...but meeting a gorgeous mountain man was NOT in her plans and ended up being exactly what she needed to renew her confidence and strength needed for moving on.

Luke was such a great guy and I found myself felling a bit jealous of Madison at times. He was rugged and sexy and kind. And both characters share an instant and intense chemistry that just pushes them outside of their normal boundaries as they indulge in each other away from their every day lives. The relationship forms quickly, yet it in no way diminishes the strength of their feelings...their seclusion only allowed for them to get to know each other in ways being out in the everyday world would have distracted from. It also allowed them to get it on like bunnies. I'm just saying, they seriously got it on - a lot. *fans self*

This book captivated me from the moment I started and brought some serious heat to the pages. I'm a huge fan of Chelle Bliss and this is my first opportunity to read something by Meredith Wild and I think they did a wonderful job in writing this story so seamlessly that it’s hard to believe it was a collaborative effort. I loved it! I can’t wait to experience more misadventures from this series.

Meredith Wild and Chelle Bliss prove to be quite the dynamic writing duo, serving up tons of sizzle and plenty of heart with Misadventures of a City Girl. Luke and Madison’s story was fun, flirty, and delightfully filthy, with a few surprises thrown in for good measure. From their very first encounter, this pair exuded sexual tension and raw attraction. Luke and Madison’s chemistry burned hot and bright as their personalities clashed and they fought to find middle ground. The authors did a great job playing off of the couple’s vastly different lifestyles, ensuring that the reader was firmly invested in their journey together.

I adore a good opposites attract storyline and this one was no exception. However, the best part of Luke and Madison’s journey was discovering they might just be more similar than was initially apparent. Wild and Bliss took the relationship between the hero and heroine to new places as they explored the couple’s past heartbreaks and personal histories, developing unexpected emotional connections that took me by surprise. I appreciated getting to know Madison on a more significant level and only wish Luke’s character had undergone the same amount of development. There were several moments that felt like missed opportunities to really get to know Luke beyond the superficial facts. Regardless I enjoyed this book for the light, sexy read that it was.

Luke and Madison’s journey moved quickly, pulling the reader in and dousing them in the flames of this couple’s red-hot love story. The overall storyline was undoubtedly intriguing and I liked the progression of the relationship and it’s eventual resolution. Luke and Madison had a great push and pull that kept me grinning as I read this novel. The authors certainly made for quite the pair in their own right, their writing styles blending well together and leaving me to wonder what else they might be capable of together. If you’re looking for a fast-paced, entertaining, and seriously scorching read then you’ve definitely found it with Misadventures of a City Girl.

From the description, I didn't know the sex was going to be so graphic. I must have missed that part when I requested it. Our library did order it for a few of its branches, though.

I was lucky to receive a hardcover ARC for a review.

Madison Atwood is finally putting herself first, and escapes to a retreat to find herself again. Fresh from a divorce, Madison deserves this vacation. She explores the resort, and finds a hot springs to relax in.

When Luke Dawson spots the naked vacationer, his life changes forever. Madison and Luke forge a relationship neither one was looking for. Will the City Girl revive the Mountain Man? Can a love last between these two?

Packed full of heat, raw emotion, and sparks, Meredith Wild and Chelle Bliss did a fantastic job of bringing these two characters together, and making the reader yearn for more.

Can’t wait to read the next book in the Misadventures series!
