I DNF at 36%

I'm going to try to come back to this one because I was provided an ARC and I feel it's only fair, but I'm going to have to a wait a bit.

My problem with this book isn't so much the characters, it's the pace. It sucked me in for the first few chapters, but it all went downhill when he saw Kiera again. Things happen very, very quickly. It takes them almost no time to have sex and start developing a relationship again (note that I stopped at 36% and this has already happened). I felt like given how they were hurt by each other, they should both be a little more wary of starting anything. Second chance romances should be more of a slow burn while the characters get to know each other again. At least that's how I feel.

Kiera was kind of bland and a little matronly and Quinn felt a little whiny. I get the feeling that Quinn's family is supposed to be kind of quirky, but they too felt a little old fashioned.

Everything about the synopsis screamed my kind of book, but unfortunately it just fell flat.

I wasn't crazy about, Chasing a legend. I just couldn't get into the lead character, Quinn. He was just too sappy for me. I like someone with more Alpha type traits. I did like Kiera, although as a PT myself, there were some things that needed some more investigating to be accurate. Her character would have not been able to treat Quinn and be romantically involved with him. Big ethics no, no. Others things about the Physical Therapy were inaccurate as well. I did like the ending of the book. Pretty much the best part.

Quinn Kavanagh had a long time crush on his best friend, Kiera Finley . However, she broke his heart when she left for college without saying goodbye and that time, he's about to confess his feelings for her. 6 years later, Quinn is a talent manager at their family business. One day, he had a motorcycle accident and was severely injured. To recover from his injuries, he needs to undergo physical therapy and surprisingly, the doctor was none other than the woman he fell in love with and the very one who broke his heart.

I really like Quinn and Kiera's story. It's sweet and mellow as they rekindled their romance. Quinn still loves Kiera after all these years but he's a little hesitant to get involved with her again. He has pre-conceived thoughts of her leaving him and he doesn't want to experience that heartbreak again. Though it wasn't Kiera's intention to leave him in the past, she tries to make up for the lost time. They talk about their issues and make their relationship work. The romance between them was good but there's something missing on it. There's a slight miscommunication on the last 15% but it's resolved in the end. Of all the books in this series, this is probably my third favorite.

Chasing a Legend is the 4th book of the Kavanagh Legends series. It can be easily read as a stand-alone book, which thrilled me to no end because I absolutely hate picking up a book, start reading it and have no clue what is going on. If you have followed my blog for any length of time, you all know my views on picking books up mid-series. You also know how much I love it when I do read a book in a series that isn’t overwhelmed by past characters. Happily, Chasing a Legend isn’t overwhelmed by past characters. While they all make appearances, Quinn and Kiera are the main focus of the Chasing a Legend.

Let’s talk about Quinn for a minute. From page one, I absolutely loved him. A tattooed, pierced biker?? Hello, come to mama!! But what really drew me to him was after the accident. He was still that biker who exuded sex appeal but he needed someone to help him heal from the accident. I also loved how he felt about Kiera and the fact that six years apart didn’t make any difference in how he felt for her.

Speaking of Kiera, I freaking loved her. She was so funny and I couldn’t help but laugh because she was funny. Her one liners had me laughing in bed and confusing the heck out of BK. I also liked that she didn’t fall into Instalove with Quinn. Instead, it grew. Honestly, I felt that her love for Quinn was more realistic than some of the romance books I have read to date. I also felt that her decision to accept the fellowship in Seattle was more true to life. She worked hard to get there and I loved that Quinn was going to let her go.

The sex in this book, while it came early on, was fantastic. It was page burning hot. I need to fan myself after reading some scenes. All I have to say is that Quinn had some serious stamina and they both were insatiable.

I absolutely loved how close the Kavanagh clan was. When Ace passed was a prime example. Everyone came together to mourn the loss of a special dog. By the end of that chapter, I was ugly crying and again got a very confused look from BK because of my tears.

The end of the book was perfect and I absolutely loved the epilogue. To be honest, that is when I was laughing hysterically. If you want to know why read the book.

How many stars will I give Chasing a Legend: 4

Why: This book was the complete package. Forget that it is the 4th book in a series, it can be easily read along. Instead, focus on the romance, the sex and the sense of family that is skillfully woven. This isn’t the first Sarah Robinson book that I have read but it is the first that I can honestly say touched my heart and my funny bone.

Will I reread: Yes

Will I recommend to family and friends: Yes

Age range: Adult

Why: Sex and language

Let me start off by saying, "Sarah started this book off breaking my damn heart." Okay now on to the good stuff.... Quinn and Kiera YES, we saw this coming, waited for it, craved it, stalked for it. I would have to say Sarah did not disappoint and all the bits and pieces we received in the previous books did not hold a candle.

I found myself laughing and crying as well as "Having many questions." (Book insider) while I read this. Quinn was a damaged soul with life adding more self conscious issues on his plate but boy did Kiera eat ever morsel piece by freaking piece. Taking it in bed, on the couch, at the counter, and everywhere else the hurt, low self-esteem and doubt laid. Quinn did not have a fighting chance because this spit fire gave as good as she got until....... Yeah all glass and steal sometimes breaks because of trust and doubt. Only thing stood was a heart formed 20 years ago.... or was it? You just have to find out what moves the manager has while outside the ring.

This book continues Sarah Robinson’s series about a family of five hunky brothers whose father is an ex-mafia boss and who now run an MMA gym. The second youngest brother, Quinn, is recovering from a terrible motorcycle accident. His physical therapist turns out to be Keira, who used to be his best friend, slept with him, and then walked out. He was devastated then because he had been in love with Keira since they were little kids, but she hadn’t known.

I liked both protagonists, but there didn’t seem to be much of a plot in the book. All the conflicts get resolved rather easily and painlessly. They fall back into a loving relationship pretty quickly. He has been working as an agent for his brother, the national champion, and others. But at heart, he’s a sculptor. He needs to resolve those two parts of his character and figure out how to move forward with his life with Keira in it. I kept waiting for one of those potential conflicts to be a bigger deal, but I just had to wait a little bit and all was hunky-dory again. So, it is a nice read, but nothing really gripping or that would keep you up at night to finish it. I liked the earlier books in this series more.

I was given a free ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Every time I complete a book by Sarah Robinson I cannot wait until the next one, especially in her Kavanagh Legends series and I am happy to say that her latest book, Chasing a Legend, did not disappoint.

This book centers on Quinn Kavanagh, who always saw himself as the Kavanagh who keeps the family and family business afloat. When tragedy strikes, Quinn has to learn to not be the one the rest of the family depends on as he works towards battling his own demons, both physical and emotional. Sarah Robinson writes a character that is raw with emotion, yet strong and fierce in what he wants and with his goals. I couldn't put this book down, and was truly sad when I read the last words and I hope another Kavanagh book will be published sometime in the near future.

This series of books, which can be read alone or in order, captures the readers attention and makes one truly fall in love with the whole Kavanagh clan.

I highly recommend this book, and the rest of the Kavanagh series.

“Chasing A Legend” by Sarah Robinson is her fourth book and latest offering in her Kavanagh Legends series was an excellent emotional ride. Well balanced for its sad moments to its HEA ending.
Quinn Kavanagh has been the one son who knew how bad the family livelihood was hurting during the grim times. Becoming an extraordinary manager and agent not only for his brother but also with an uncanny ability to find up and coming MMA athletes has helped to keep the family business solvent and a name to be reckoned with. That all changes when a motorcycle accident almost claims his life and has him thinking about whether to pursue his hobby as a sculptor full time or return to the family business like a loyal son after he recovers.
Quinn’s childhood crush and the girl that he has loved most of his life practically ran away from him in her eagerness to go to college has returned home. Dr. Kiera Finley was too young when she left to realize the love she left behind in pursuit of her dream. Back in town she becomes Quinn’s physical therapist. Working with Quinn has her seeing Quinn in a new light and now she has to decide whether she should pursue the connection between them or further her dream leaving Quinn behind once more.
Catching up with the Kavanagh clan adds the zest to the storyline. The interaction of this loving and big hearted family throughout the book adds the best filler to the pages.

I received a copy of this e-book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This is the fourth book in Ms. Robinson's series about the Kavanagh siblings. Quinn works for his family's gym and is also manager for his brother who is a fighter. He is a bit quitter than the others though, he keeps more to himself.

Quinn is in an accident on his motorcycle and is lucky to survive. He has a long rehab period in front of him. When he starts his outpatient physical therapy he gets quite the surprise...his therapist is Kiera, his secret crush and best friend as a child.

Kiera went off to college without telling Quinn which hurt him deeply. They shared a moment that would change their lives and he couldn't believe it didn't mean anything to her.

Seeing Quinn again has affected her deeply. All the feelings she had for him come rushing back.
Quinn plays it cool with her though but she doesn't let him push her away as a professional. She gets to know a different Quinn besides the one she knew with the big, loving and boisterous family.

They do grow closer and begin a relationship and Quinn is happier that he has ever been. Kiera also supports the "artist" in him which means so much to him because as close as he is to his family, they don't know about his artistic pursuits.

Kiera receives news that a residency she had applied for has accepted her. It was a dream come true but what of Quinn? The residency is on the other side of the country and he would never leave his family....

Is this residency worth losing him and breaking his heart once again? Is it worth losing the love of your life?

LOVED IT! I have read this whole series so far and cannot get enough of the Kavanagh family. Quinn is more introspective and doesn't share as much...like he never told Kiera how much she really meant to him, she was more than his best friend. He is so heartbroken by her leaving for college that it has played a part in any of his relationships, or lack of... He is definitely the more sensitive of the K brothers so far. Since he is more private, when he opens his life up he is really an awesome man...this is a must read....I look for more from Sarah Robinson...

Quinn Kavanagh has always been "smack dab" in the middle of everything. At least when it comes to his family.
Whether it be something as simple as being the middle child of the Kavanagh household. Or as his father's right hand and management head for the MMA talent at Legends Training. Quinn has always had a knack for not being too far from where the action is.

That is...until he isn't.
After the one fateful day, those few unforeseen moments that serve to take him out of the action in a big way.
Changing both his life and the way that he lives it forever.

This fourth offering in the Kavanagh Legends series can easily be characterized as the most heartfelt of the saga.
The reason for this?
The leading man in this tale functions as an integral support for all other people in his life.
Even for his "newly returned" first love gone awry.
One Dr. Keira Finley.
The same Dr. Finely assigned to help him fight his way through the pain and limitations that have plagued him since the motorcycle accident that almost cost him his life.

Leaving readers and characters alike to wonder...
Is the good Dr. strong enough to stay around this time?
Is she truly the balm that Quinn needs to sooth the wounds to both his scarred body and his tattered heart?
Or, will Quinn be left to face the loss of the life that he once knew and the woman that he has never stopped loving...again?

Profound questions aside.
The one thing that sets this book apart from its predecessors in the series?
The fact that Quinn tells his story and lives his life outside if the octagon.
That's right ladies.
This chiseled and toned survivor may have the body of a god. But he has the heart and the talent of an artist.
A fact that until now he has chosen to keep well hidden from those closest.
But with life altering changes facing him on all fronts; who is to say that a change from the strategy of the "art of war" in the ring. To creating art for its own sake, isn't what this leading man really needs.

In any case...
If you want a romance where love, laughter, living, and family are always worth fighting for.
Look no further than the Kavanagh Legends.

I think this is one of the more sweet and loving books in the series. Quinn has loved Kiera since practically day one. Kiera also loved Quinn, but maybe not the same as Quinn. Years later she finds out just what she's missed out on. But once she knows there's no stopping her. She has never been shy asking for what she wants and doesn't change now.
The Kavanagh's are such a great family.

Quinn has a near fatal motorcycle accident and is in need of some physical therapy to help him build his strength. His physical therapist is none other than his former best friend Kiera. Quinn has been in love with her since he was a young teenager. When their paths cross again the two can't help but reconnect.
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this series and Sarah Robinson definitely did not disappoint readers with this book. Great addition to the series.

We met and got to know Quinn a little in his brothers' stories. An accident and fate bring back two friends, unbeknownst to either that both are in love with the other, and their story gets a second chance at a happy ending. I fell right back into this world. I was immersed in this story and its characters. There were some hot sex scenes in this book. This couple just clicked and finally get their HEA. This was a good read. I look forward to seeing the next Kavanaugh get their HEA.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

One minute Quinn Kavanagh was on his way to meet his very loud, very loving family for dinner, the next he was eating asphalt and hoping that this wasn’t his end. Just before blacking out her face came back to him. The one girl he loved and who walked away from him without a backward glance. Now at the lowest point in his life, Q is faced with the woman who had once been his best friend and the love of his life. Dr. Kiera Finley could have killed her mom. Quinn, her Quinn was hurting and had been for months, but no one had told her a thing. Now as his doctor, she was determined to push him past his limits and bring him back to the man she knows him to be. But being around him makes her realize how much she missed him. How much she missed them. Pushing comfort zones might be her job, but with Quinn it was more. She wanted him. She wanted who they could have been. Quinn resists Kiera for all of a second, but he isn’t ready to give her his heart. Not again. After just a few weeks they are visibly together and his family is all over it. But knowing that they were very aware of his heart break years before, makes Quinn very conscious of his blooming relationship. When a dream of Kiera's threatens to take her away again, will Quinn fight for her or walk away? The fourth Kavanagh romance brings back every one of the five brothers, their overbearing mom, stoic dad and little cousin Casey. Also, tragedy, pain, loss, love, second chances and a really sexy Kavanagh who happens to have the heart of an artist. A must read…

4.5 stars - Pretty great!

I love friends to lovers and second chance romances. When I get both in one heartfelt steamy read I’m in romance heaven. He’s a tough guy from a MMA family. Yet, he’s embraced his artist within and he’s really good! A freak motorcycle accident puts him in the path of his childhood friend, crush, lost love. The characters don’t figure it out immediately, but in the end we get a HEA worthy of a champion.

I received an ARC of this book, from the publisher, via NetGallery, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This was a really nice book. It is a standalone,, but since it is a middle book in a series, but since I hadn't read any of the others I was introduced to a lot of family members whose stories were being moved forward a bit,. The primary characters in this story, Quinn and Kiera, were both interesting and likable. Kiera had a fresh personality that was more authentic than many I've read lately.
While I enjoyed the characters, and the story was well written and moved along at a good pace, the overall plot didn't engage me. The ultimate complication and resolution was predictable. Nevertheless, it was enjoyable getting to the end. There were a lot of pages of "warm family moments" that were a little much for my taste, but they were well done, and I expect most people will love them.

This author is a BIG favorite of mine. She's an extraordinary storyteller who brings romance into real life situations. Her honest and heart warming portrayal of the Kavanagh family makes them seem almost real. Invested is the best word I can use to refer to this series and I'm so so grateful I asked to receive an ARC by this author. I'm seldom moved emotionally while reading and rarely form attachments to a character or story. That's not the case here. I love the big rowdy family and every one of their stories. This latest book about Quinn and Keira is my favorite so far. This book is absolutely everything a romance is supposed to be. Don't miss it.

This is a sweet romance, with lots of sex, about childhood sweethearts that failed as young lovers because of lack of communication. As usual in this type of stories, poor communication propels the narrative.
Since this book is part of a series, there’s a strong family context – the Kavanaghs –, and a career shift by the hero, Quinn, which were interesting to watch.
I was curious to see Quinn’s recovery from his serious accident, with the specialized guidance of the heroine, Kiera, but, besides the dubious patient/doctor relationship, we are told rather than shown about the healing process.
I thought that the pace of the story was a bit uneven, with nothing relevant happening sometimes and lots of conversations about feelings.
I guess this will appeal to young readers and I’m too old to be really moved by it.
