Book 3 of cop brothers set in New Orleans. Jordan, Liam and Zachary. The three books are linked together, and are also written by 3 different authors. They click well together and enjoyed the series. Easy to read, and all three meet or reconnect with their future romances. This one shows the conclusion of the mystery throughout, but still was not a big issue reading it out of order. I read them out of order, but wasn't lost. Would recommend.

Zachary was a cop in New Orleans and his ex partner was Rebecca/Becca and she was a straight laced cop. They came together to solve a murder that had happened during a voodoo ceremony. Zachary and Becca try to find out who is behind the killings and also trying to destroy Camille’s reputation and restaurant. Zachary and Becca have a strong attraction between them but have never acted on it. Zach saw through Becca’s disguise. Zach’s half brother Jordan is up on a double murder charge and Zach wants to help him prove he is innocent and not a bad cop. Zach heard about the new murder on his scanner and was there just before the coroner and forensic team. It was tony Fortune's body next to the now familiar gris gris Tony had been part of a voodoo group. Zach would give about anything to break the case Jordan had been arrested for. Becca said to Gary Vance - the other cop on the task force on this case- that proved that Jordan wasn’t the voodoo killer as he was behind bars and if his voodoo was strong enough to get him out to kill Jordan would simply disappear or create a spell to misdirect them completely and save himself a trial. Zach became Becca’s partner right after she graduated from the Police Academy. Zach found Becca was nervous because of him. He hadn’t seen much of Becca since she had turned on him for tampering with a door. Because of her he may be wearing the same uniform for the rest of his life. Rebecca wondered how much longer she could work with Vance when he was determined to pin the murders on the wrong man who was also a cop and then he brings Liam into it.
This was a quick good read- a novella but I did wish it had been longer but then i usually do. You need to read the other books in this series first then everything will flow smoothly. I felt this was well written. I enjoyed how Becca and Zach interacted with each other and i liked them together. I was glad it matter to Zach to free his half brother as they were family. I enjoyed the action and mystery as well as the suspense in this book. I didn’t like Vance. I was glad Becca decided to help Zach. I liked the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend.

Book received from NetGalley.

I enjoyed this third book in the New Orleans Magic series. This story focuses on a police officer who is the half brother of the two characters from the first two books in the series. He hooks up with his ex-partner who is trying to solve murders with a Voodoo influence. The books are quick reads, this one seemed to wrap things up a bit to quickly. It's something to look into if you want something quick and slightly fluffy.

I am usually a big fan of paranormal romance and romantic suspense, so when I got a chance to read a novella that was promised to be standalone with an HEA, I was excited to dive right in. Yet, even with this love of the genre, and my willingness to give Zachary a little bit of extra time - considering that I did not read the other two parts of the series - I could not connect with the any of the characters.

The action/mystery was interesting enough to ensure that I at least would finish the story, but the romance between the two main characters - Zachary and Rebecca -  was wooden and unbelievable. Okay, maybe they had more of a back story in the other books - but at least I found neither of them charming enough for me to care a lot about them, in fact, they left me indifferent. I find that important in a book, even if it makes you hate a character, as a strong emotional connection or disconnection makes a story interesting, and that was what was lacking here.

Thankfully, the Author decided to not drag the already non-existing chemistry on for too long, and simply solved the mystery in a rather quick manner, even if that could have been executed a little better.
Considering that this genre has some truly great writers, Zachary does not stand out enough for me to recommend it to you. Instead, read any of the books by Kay Hooper or Heather Graham, and you will get a lot more suspense, action, and romance.

Zachary's story completes the New Orleans magic trilogy. He brings the mystery to a resolution, with the help of his heroine. I found this book to be well written and a fitting end to the trilogy..

Three authors, three books, one conclusion.

Zachary is the last book in the New Orleans Magic series. And as promised I went and started the series over and completed Zachary story at long last. In Liam's story, I thought I knew who the individual was circumventing executing the supporter on Jordan's life partner bistro. Obviously, it was quite recently starry-eyed thinking on my part, since I didn't care for the one character.

On the off chance that I needed to pick which book out of the three I preferred it would be this book. I think because it had better character development and out of the three brothers I like Zachary better.

Independently each book merits the evaluations that I provided for them. Be that as it may, all in all, only two stars for series.

This was the third and final part of the trilogy, and the weakest one.

Although the romance part was very good, with a very good set of main characters, with the half-brothers back story. I found the conclusion to the murders very lack-luster. It left gaping holes that could have been filled in, the loose ends tied together, and over all tidied up a lot better than what it was.

Good premise but this was just too simplistic for me. The characters did not seem realistic. It was had to believe that a good police officer would pine for his partner who he feels betrayed him. Especially given the fact she was promoted and now working as a detective. Would have liked more information on the brother's and their interactions. They seemed to be more complex characters.

3.5 Stars Zachary is part three of the New Orleans Magic series by authors Rebecca York, Ann Voss Peterson and this the conclusion by Patricia Rosemoor. Although the characters in this series have not resonated with me I did find Zachary's story did appeal to me more than the others and brought the story to a solid conclusion.

This is the third book in this series and I really liked all 3. Love the New Orleans setting and the characters. My problem is that as novellas you just can not get the depth that you can get in longer stories
