This book was...different from the typical "jealous older sibling" genre, but I didn't particularly like it. Most stories like this will talk about the older sibling thinking there is physically no room in the house for the baby, or no room in the family, or that their parents went love them as much. In this story, the older sibling feels that his parents aren't the right size to hold the baby, and that he should hold the baby. I'm not sure how helpful this would be in a new sibling situation.

As an expectant mother with a house full of littles already I very much appreciated this text. I found it was simple yet detailed enough that my children found it engaging to start an conversation about what to expect once our new little bundle arrives.

A cute and simple story about a little penguin who worries that there will be no room for the baby that has just arrived. In the end, the penguin is delighted to discover that his baby brother fits perfectly in his arms.

New baby siblings are the staple of picture books. You've got jealousy, unmet expectations, reforming your family to include this new, noisy thing. This one is sweet but nothing mind blowing or unexpected.

Leon's baby brother, Marcel, has arrived! Leon's excited, but a little concerned about where the baby's going to go when he's not in his crib. He certainly can't go in Leon's room. And there's no room on Mama's lap for him; there's only room for Leon. And Daddy's shoulders are just too high. After Leon thinks on the situation, he discovers the best possible place for his baby brother: in his arms. This is the such a sweet story about becoming an older sibling; it addresses the fears an older sibling may have when a new baby joins the family, and it allows the sibling to work through his fears and come to his own happy decision. At no point do Leon's parents correct him or force the baby on him; they stand back and let him reason things out for himself. It's an empowering story with a sweet sense of humor. The simple black pencil, crayon and oils illustration feels childlike and will easily appeal to readers. I'm looking forward to adding this one to my new sibling bibliography.

Leon is a toddler penguin who is not too sure about having a new baby brother. As long as the infant Marcel is in his crib, Leon is okay with him. But once the baby cries, and mom and dad’s attention are taken away, Leon begins describing all the ways in which there is no room for a baby.

The Penguin family lives in a spacious igloo with all the trappings of a human home that would be familiar to a toddler. This familiarity along with the cartoon style illustrations, make it appealing to the listening toddler.

Despite Leon’s hesitantly about Marcel living in his home, Leon does find one place that is big enough for the baby. Leon’s arms are just the right side.

This is the perfect solution. And Leon figured it out all on his own.

This is a charming tale of a little penguin with a new, younger brother. He laments to his parents that there is no place for this new baby in their home (his mother's lap is too big, his father's shoulders too high), so where will baby go? The answer may surprise you. This is a nice, cozy story told with gentle humor. The drawings are simple, yet engaging. This is a great book for young children, especially those who may be expecting a new sibling.

This is cute book for new big brothers/sisters. I really liked the illustrations. The crayon gave the pictures a nice texture. One of the things that I especially liked about this book is that it isn’t your typical “I’m the jealous older sibling” storyline. The baby shouldn’t go on Daddy’s shoulders because it is simply too high—not because it is a place only reserved for Leon. Leon’s solution to where to put the baby is heartwarming and shows that he genuinely cares about his new little brother.

So you see how it is. Little penguin Leon frets that his new brother Marcel will displace him in his own home — and, worse still, with his parents. But in the skillful hands of author and illustrator Émile Jadoul, the surprising ending will satisfy both parents and any newly minted big brother or sister anxious about the new arrival. With such delightful pictures and the beautiful story, I highly recommend reading this book — even if, as in my case, your baby brother is now 57 years old! (I love you, Frankie!)

A cute story about introducing a child to a baby sibling. There's bound to be jealousy regardless of how it's handled, but a parent can only try to make the older sibling feel as loved as before. The drawings are cute in an almost childish way, they look like they were scribbled with a crayon. I would say it looks almost unfinished, but that seems to be a trend in kid's books nowadays.

All in all, a good story to read to a young child expecting a sibling.

This charming book is translated from French. I haven't read the rest in this series, but I am completely charmed by this one.
Leon, a young penguin, has a new baby in his house. He is very worried about how the new baby will fit in the house and family. His mother only has room for him on her lap. His father's shoulders are much to high for a baby. Leon fits perfectly between his mother and his father, so how can they accommodate a newborn? When baby Marcel cries, Leon figures out where his baby brother fits best.
I am delighted by the simple illustrations. This is a story that will appeal to children facing the same predicament as Leon, and their parents will enjoy it also.

I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to parents having a second child. I loved that it had some misdirection that Leon was going to say to put the baby in the boat! Great for a penguin unit in Preschool as well. Simple, touching ending. Wish it was called "Room for Baby" instead of the negative "NO Room for Baby"!

The characters are adorable and the text is very simple. The story is told from Leon's perspective and demonstrate the normal worries that come along with a brand new sibling brought home to stay forever. This is a wonderful book to read with children that are expecting a new baby to be born soon and brought home. It is a simple story that will help alleviate worries and anxieties that are not simple.

The book is following in the series of little Leon, this is another one telling about important situation in Leon's life. He has a little brother who is so tiny and gives Leon non-stop worry. Where his parents are going to place him, is he going to stay in that one place forever? So far Leon is really clues what is going to happen to his brother, because overlooking his everyday life, he knows he is the one who takes all place and parents attention. There is no place for Marcel. Leon is a boy who analyses and thinks a lot. He has wonderful parents that guides him with love and eventually Leon knows that he is there for Marcel.

I found the story very important to the families who are expecting second child and the firstborn is at the age to ask and think about this huge event non-stop or worry how the life is going to change. The illustrations are lovely and the text gives an open place for parents to talk through the story, answering all "if's". I really enjoyed the book!

This is a very cute short story about a penguin concerned with where his baby penguin little brother will stay when he is born. It will be a good book for younger children that are expecting a sibling to show them that things will carry on as normal and how much they can help.

Hummmm. A baby book with a surprise ending? Brother spends the story convincing his parents that there is just no room for a baby. No room in holding hands, too high to sit on papa's shoulders, and mamas are are too long to hold the baby. Instead the perfect place for the baby was in the brothers arms. That is why this seemed a surprise ending to me. I thought the mom and dad would have to convince brother that there was plenty of room for a fourth. Not bad, just not for me.
