Sweet title with simple but cute illustrations to ready an older sibling for a new baby or baby on the way. Leon doesn't think there is any room for his new brother, Marcel. He discovers that there is one place that is just right.

To tell you the truth, I found this book a little lack luster. My three year old didn't have his usual enthusiasm when listening to this story that he usually has. I have to say though, the concept was great for small kids becoming an older sibling. The art was interesting and cute, but I wish the writing was a little more interesting.

This sweet book is about a little penguin named Leon. His new baby brother Marcel is now home and Leon worries that there is no place to put him. The sweet baby boy is fine now in his bassinet but after he outgrows that where in the world is he going to go?

Leon explores all the options that he can think of: no... not on Mama's lap because it's already taken by him, no... not on Daddy's shoulders because they are way too high up and that would be dangerous to the little guy, and NOOOOOOO not in his room. That's definitely off limits because?.... well?.... it's HIS room that's why!

Can this dilemma be solved and can Marcel find the perfect place for him settle into in his new home?

The characters are simply adorable and the text is very simple. The story is told from a child's perspective and covers the anxieties and worries that come along with a brand new family member being brought home to stay forever. The story is emotional and common to each household that experiences a new birth in their midst. This is the perfect book to start a conversation about what it would be like to have a brand new brother or sister. The heartwarming tale is one to snuggle down with and read as an entire family together.

This cute little book is about a small penguin who has a new brother. The small penguin thinks there isn't really room for a new penguin but eventually finds a very good place for him. This one would be a good one to connect with old favorites like "Peter's Chair" by Ezra Jack Keats or Lauren Child's newer one "A New Small Person".

I loved No Room for Baby. The struggle for any older sibling is real in trying to figure out where the new baby will fit into the mix. What I loved most about this book was that Leo came to his own conclusion. It wasn't an idea that was given to him from his parents. The illustrations were an excellent fit for the story.

--I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are purely my own and not influenced in any way.--
While the art style is not really my cup of tea, I can see that kids could relate to the story (which is cute) when a new baby will be joining the family. I would recommend this book to young readers who are anxious about a new arrival or even those with younger siblings who can relate to the main character's feelings. 3.5 stars.

A lovely story with superb illustrations. I love the sweet ending and think this would make a great book to read with children that are expecting another sibling.
