This is the first in what promises to be a great new series by Mallery. In this first installment we are following a character we know from Fool's Gold, and meeting an array of new ones. This story had all the trademarks we love from her previous series, humor and realistic characters, with plenty of activity to follow. I am very excited to read the next book and meet everyone in Happily, Inc.

The story is just what you expect from Susan Mallery. Always enough romance and family connections. It's interesting to have a kind of follow up with Fool's Gold. Love the book!

A fantastic first book in a brand new series by Susan Mallery! I can hardly wait to see what this series brings!

I am a big Susan Mallery fan and this being the first book in a new series (Happily Inc) makes me happy. Pallas loves her wedding business and when a bride wants a very unusual wedding she jumps into action. Nick and his family are all artistic and he agrees to help Pallas with a small problem that leads to a very heavy romance. Nick is very commitment shy and worries Pellas is playing with him. Lots of characters for more romances. A light easy read just right for summer beach or deck reading.

Mallery starts he new series out strong with Nick and Pallas. I do believe we may come to like the town of Happily Inc. just as much as Fools Gold over time. Looking forward to the next installment!

I was sorry when the Fool's Gold series ended even though it was probably time. I must admit to being sceptical about Susan Mallery's new series set in what promised to be another impossibly perfect small town. It remains to be seen if Happily Inc is impossible or not but You Say It First, the initial title in the series, turned out to be very enjoyable. Nick Mitchell is an escapee from Fool's Gold and expects to be in Happily Inc for just a short time but then he meets Pallas, the owner of Weddings in a Box, and gradually moving on seems less desirable. Although this is Pallas's story it serves very much as an introduction to the series - and to her friends whom, one assumes, will have starring roles in future books. I liked the characters and most of all I liked the lack of high drama as Nick and Pallas resolved their relationship.

LOVED THIS . Susan Mallery really can tell a story and bring so much into it. Glad the cast of characters is expanding. Yeah!!!!!

This is the start of a new series with some characters connected to the previous Fools Gold story. I really wanted to love it because I loved Fools Gold. BUt I only got to 20% of the book because it was just so BORING. I know I know we have to build the story, and this is a new series with lots of new characters and there are sooooooooo many descriptions of the new characters. But I was bored out of my mind.
I wanted some action and instead I got boring scene after boring scene of talking and discussing and it just seemed like the scenes were repeating itself between Nick and Pallas, over and over gain. And they'd talk about who they knew and how they knew them and I just felt like nothing happened. At 20% I just felt bored to death and I had to give up.
I really get that the author is building a series and trying to get us to imagine this town and wants to build the quirky characters than we will see in this story and others but well I just wanted to get to the story and instead she lost me as she gets so descriptive on each character.
This story is supposedly about Nick, a carpenter/famous artist who is visiting his brothers while waiting on an art job in Dubai. He is looking fora job and decides to be a carpenter, tht is how he meets Pallas. Pallas runs a wedding place, Weddings Out of the Box, and the first scene was wonderful. She hires Nick to be a Roman in a wedding and had the story carried on like that I would have loved that but after than we get all the boring scenes.
Pallas realises Nick is a major artist and she hires him to work on some wood art/panels. Meanwhile Pallas' mom wants herto give up weddings and go to work for the family business of banking. We also meet Pallas girl friends, who also work wedddings. And thats as far as I got.
The book had a great opening and I really liked Pallas and Nick. The problem is nothing happened. I kept hoping to see the romance between Pallas and Nick and instead they just kept having the same boring conversations about the wood panels. Eventually I just gave up and just couldnt take reading the same things over and over.
Susan Mallery is a wonderful author but this book gets too bogged down building the new series and it took away from the main story in my opinion.

A new series from the legendary Susan Mallery?!!? Sign me up!!!! I couldn't wait to get my hands on You Say It First, the first book in the Happily Inc. series! And after reading it, I can officially say that I cannot wait for more!!!
From the very beginning when Nick Mitchell thought he was going on an interview to fill a carpenter position and he ultimately finds himself in a toga at a wedding with self-tanner slathered on him, I knew this book was going to be fantastic!! After their crazy first meeting, Nick comes back to have a true interview with Pallas Saunders. It was at that point that she realized who Nick really is--a world renowned artist!!! Nick interviewing for a minimum wage job shocks Pallas, but Nick ends up convincing Pallas that he is interested in working as a carpenter to help restore some of the once beautiful woodwork at her wedding venue. Pallas recently inherited Wedding in a Box, which is a full service theme wedding business that has been financially floundering as of late. Refusing to give up on her dream, Pallas thinks having Nick spruce things up may help her bottom line. Little does Pallas know she is in for a lot more than she ever bargained for with Nick!!
Susan Mallery has done it once again!!! I thoroughly enjoyed every page of this novel! I thought it was awesome the way Susan Mallery took Nick Mitchell from the Fool's Gold series (Nick is Ceallach Mitchell's son) and transplanted him in Happily Inc.! Nick and Pallas had phenomenal chemistry and I love what Susan Mallery had in mind with their storyline. I thought the little town of Happily Inc., California and all of its residents were completely endearing. Having said that, I am truly looking forward all of the future installments of this amazing series! You Say It First is a 4.5 star gem that will capture the heart of every romance novel fan. I highly encourage everyone to 1-click this book!

Susan Mallery has created yet another fictional small town filled with funny quircky characters. I'm a little tired of reading about wedding planners though (just saying).
The romance in You Say it First was nice.
Unfortuanely the author spent a LOT of time introducing the dozens of next heroes and heroines. It was annoying I admit because the main storyline deffinitely suffered from it.
If you enjoyed the Fool's Gold series you'll probably enjoy this book just as much.
