Never read one by this author, but thought it was wonderful! It kept me wanting more and also curious about other characters, wondering if there are more books to read.

‘Hammered’ is the latest book by M.J. Fields in which she brings us a feisty female lead character that comes up against a somewhat angry and fouled mouthed alpha male. It is full of angst and heat that you cannot help but get caught up in. This was a four star read for me.

Unlike some of the other male leads written by M.J. Fields I found Gage Falcon hard to like at first but the more I read the more I got to know and understand him. Recently divorced and determined to have nothing but random hook ups but when a barmaid piques his interest things just might change.

Phoenix is working hard to get money for school and having been burnt before she doesn’t have time to entertain any players in her life. She especially doesn’t have time for a foul mouthed alpha that thinks he can easily have her. However Phoenix doesn’t quite realise how determined Gage is in wearing her down.

This was a tale of two damaged characters and their journey of finding peace in each other. There is plenty of sass and foul mouthed language for you to enjoy while the story pulls you in. This book was not quite what I thought I would get when I started reading as it turned out to be so much more. I am looking forward to reading more in this series from M.J. Fields.

I was given a copy of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Hammered by MJ Fields

First let me start by telling you this is my favorite kind of story. 2 angry stubborn people fighting at every turn with each other til they explode in sexual tension <3

We meet Gage who is doing his normal booty call thing because hes to busy for a relationship and believes they always fail first, hes inked up gorgeous GQ type guy who knows hes sexy and is egotistical as heck. Yum!
Next we meet Phionex. Shes a strongwilled hardworking beautiful gal who needs no man but loves to harass Gage.
After the disaster meeting at the bar Nix works at they both believe they will most likely never meet again. We come to find out Nix is living in the property Gage is building. Sparks and fire fly with these two. Then the real drama starts lies deception, family has a way of ruining everything.. Will Gage and Nix overcome or will the lies judgement and stress of reality destroy everything?

I give this story 5 stars I absolutely loved it! Gage and Nix were adorable! The sub characters were amazing and I was left with a huge smile on my face at the end. If you enjoy hate to love stories full of sexy banter and adorableness read this book!

Let me get this off my chest. I hate it Juliana and Gages mother. I did read Juliana's book so I only dislike her now but there are ways to go about things and hers I found lacking.
Ok I love Gage he was so very strong. And he carried a lot on his shoulders that his family placed on him and didn't try to share the load. They just stacking more on his shoulders. Wait until you hear the mess his ex-wife and mother did to him. I didn't see their point they were selfish. And they they didn't care if they were hurting Gage. Then when he found Phoenix they still tried to cause him more pain. I DIDN'T see the point his ex didn't even want him. But Gage was so loving. When he cared about you he did it with his full heart. And when he hated you God you better watch out.
Phoenix i didn't really like her the first couple chapters. She was nasty for no reason. I mean she met Gage he didn't say anything to her but she started saying slick things to him and his date. Then his date left because of her. Every time she saw him she kept judging him. I was like come on he hasn't even done anything. But then she kinda grew on me. I don't love her but she's okay. I'm glad they got their happily ever after. And I hope Gage gets his wish of knocking up Phoenix. He deserves it.
This book really stressed out but it kind of redeemed itself. I think what I didn't like was the ex-wife and mother. I just can't get over it. I'm still going over it in my mind hours later.

Gage Falcon is the eldest of three. He has two half brothers, Garrett and Grayson. He has a filthy mouth and when he loves, he loves hard. The moment he sees her serving behind the bar he knows she is it for him. Unfortunately Phoenix doesn't go for his dirty mouth, even though the rest of the package looks pretty good.

Gage is part of Steel Inc and now he has other things on his mind, like getting his new venture up and running, having guests in the beautiful cabins he has built. Unbeknownst to him, Phoenix is renting one of his cabins and that makes it just that much easier to get her to change her mind about him.

Gage lives in the main house not far away from the cabins with his son Brand. He knows he should never had married the bitch he did, but when she told him she was pregnant he knew he had to do right by her. Unfortunately after a couple of years and her infidelity, he divorced her and he is quite happy with his life with Brand and many one night stands on the side. But that is all going to change now that he has found Phoenix.

Gage's relationship with his brothers is not that great and with secrets from the past being kept hidden, the relationship is getting more strained as time goes on, especially with Garrett.

Things start to unravel though when Gage learns something about Garrett that blows his mind and realises that everything he has held dear could suddenly evaporate into thin air.

This was a great read and I enjoyed every word written. I love that there is interaction with the rest of the Steel Inc. guys and I look forward to reading Destroyed, Garrett's story.

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and give an honest review of this book.

Love this author, have read all the other books, now I will have to go back and read them again because I had forgotten just how much I love what this author writes!! Two main characters have had a tough time because of those they love. Gage really got the short end of the stick more so than Phoenix but watching them find their way into one another's hearts and lives was heartwarming. This is a must read.

Want to disclose that I did not read the first eight chapters. Reason being is that I just finished reading Falcon's landing and when I started Hammered I noticed that it was the same story I just finished. The continuation of Falcon's Lansing started at Chapter 9 in this book. That is where I started to read.

This story ended up being so much more than I expected. It's not just a love story. We get major!family drama as well. However, I wish it had be told in a slight different manner. I didn't realize the brothers had as many issues as they did. That came out of no where. At a few points, it was like I was looking through a window, like I missed something. Things were eluded to but you didn't realize they were going to be big things.

Sex, it wouldn't be a Steel series without it and there is a ton her. Gage is insatiable!!

We have not one but two evil women in this book. And I can't stand either one!!!

Loved Brand!!! And can't wait to read Garrett's story.
And I wonder what Grayson's story will be.

If you've read the other Steel books, the brothers return and have a few funny scenes.

MJ Fields wrote an amazing story starring an alpha male that takes what he wants without any apologies given. Gage Falcon has sight his eyes on a Phoenix after several failed attempts to hook up at the local bar. Phoenix's short and witty comebacks are absolutely hilarious and put the alpha male in his place as he tries to make sense of his life and reunite with his brothers.

Hammered had all the makings of a great New Adult book - the hot brooding man, the gorgeous albeit slightly broken female, tons of chemistry and tension, and a great storyline. It just fell flat for me, unfortunately. It took me awhile to really get into the book itself.

'Hammered' MJ Fields is book One in the "Steel Country" series. This is the story of Gage Falcon and Phoenix Star. Phoenix has graduated college and now is working to earn money to take her on the next step in her life. Phoenix settles in to work two jobs and also work off some of her rent by doing the lawn. Phoenix is a independent women who doesn't take handouts. While she is bartering she meets Gage who seems to be trying to hook up with a call girl. Phoenix shows him a lot of shade and ends up having the girl walkaway. Phoenix sees the guy leave and then the next day he is at her other job she works at as a waitress. It seems she isn't getting away from him when while push mowing the lawn around the barn near where she lives at he appears again but this time she finds out he is the actually landlord of the place and has returned home.
Gage is walking around with a big chip on his shoulders because he just found out that the son he loves so much isn't his son...although he has divorced his wife it just another blow to his life. So when he goes into the bar that night its just to hook up and get a release of sorts. But the bartender is so hot he tries to throw her some of his charm but she is not having it. Once the women he called to be his lady of the night leaves he leaves the bar too. That night he can't get the bartender out of him mind and the next morning at a breakfast meeting he sees her waiting tables. They have a quick interaction that doesn't go well again. When he finally learns who she is and that she is a renter on his land he tries talking to her again. But they still but heads until the one person they both care about gets hurt. This starts them coming together but there is still upsetting news to come for Gage. Will he be able to move past all of his issues and move forward with Phoenix? If he does, will Phoenix start being less independent?
Looking forward to more books from Ms. Fields

Hammered
By: MJ Fields
📚💕⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💕📚

Intensity

Gage and Phoenix are a couple that exploded from the minute they are in the same room. Fire and Ice from the very beginning. Being a huge fan of MJ Field's I went into reading Hammered with very high expectations and she delivered page after page. Both Gage and Phoenix are at a crossroads in life big dicisions need to be made that are life altering. Both believing they are strongest when they never ask for help.
I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.

Let me start by saying I think I just read a book that had everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Thanks you Netgally for letting me read and review.

This one was not for me. I'm a big fan of alpha men, steamy romance, and dirty talk in my romance books, so that wasn't the problem. For me, this one crossed the line from being sexy to being crude, which was a huge turnoff. I didn't particularly like either of the main characters, or others surrounding them (except Mags). This was the first book I've read by this author, and although she clearly has many fans based on the great reviews of books on Amazon and Goodreads, I think her books just aren't for me.

I don't know how she does it - MJ Fields just knows how to write men in a way that just makes me fall for them time after time. First it was the Caldwell Brothers and their friends, the Men of Steel, Trae of the Seattle Stallions, and now Gage Falcon. He uttered words that I really should've found repulsive and cringe-worthy, but I found myself having a decidedly different reaction to them. I love a romance between two damaged people and MJ Fields delivers that beautifully. From the very first chapter and the very first encounter between Gage and Phoenix I was sucked in to the story and really didn't want it to end. She just knows how to write women that I can relate to - women that struggle with what life throws at them, yet who refuse to give up - and gorgeous, dirty-talking alpha men that fall hard and completely. She also handles family drama with such skill. It's just a joy and a pleasure reading her words.

As obsessed as I am with the Caldwell's (I've read all 3 of the brothers' books SEVERAL times), I think I might love the Falcon brothers even more - I can't wait to meet the other two! I give this book 4.75 out of 5 stars and MJ Fields has solidified her place as a "must read" author for me.
