Ms. Coulter has done it again. Excellent story full of twists and turns that keep you reading on till the wee hours of the night.

I was given an ARC of this book in digital format. My first impression was that it was going to be a kick butt thriller with numerous twists and it turned out to be just that. A young man, apparently in a crazed state, invades the home of an expectant mother ranting on about saving her from "them." Police and the FBI shoot and wound the man and he goes into a coma. From there, things take several strange twists, which I won't describe in detail so as to avoid spoilers.
If I found any faults with this book, it was that it seemed hard to follow at times. There were numerous things going on at the same time and I had trouble following them all at times. In the end, everything came together but getting there seemed harder than it should have been. I felt that the author was trying to tell too many stories in one book. It would have been better, in my opinion, if it had been spread out into a series..
Coulter is a good thriller writer and I will definitely read more of her books, but this one is not one of her best. Don't pass it by but don't judge her body of work based solely on this book.

Spellbinding, heart pounding action, Enigma is a book not to be missed. I love this series and Ms. Coulter's writing just gets better and better. In the latest book, it is another twofer which is fantastic. The reader is taken on a wild ride to figure out why a mysterious man is trying to protect Kara Moody, a neighbor of Dillion's friend. As more information is revealed, the story starts to delve in what I like to call "Fringe" universe. It is kind of like X-files but closer aligned to fringe science which makes this story sort of plausible. I love these side steps in reality.

Whilst this race against time to find out who the mysterious man is and his end game, Cam and Jack are trying to track a ruthless killer. When it gets tangled up in politics, it becomes even worse. It's nice to see Cam and Jack together in another book. They have a dynamic similar to Dillon and Sherlock. Except, not as sexy hawt as a Dillion and Sherlock.

What I love about this series is how well the mysteries are crafted. Ms. Coulter builds layers upon layers. I'm constantly guessing to see what will happen next and figure out who did what. I love looking for the clues she lays out and seeing if I'm right. Ms. Coulter plays her cards close to her chest as she enjoys leaving red herrings for both her characters and the readers. Her plot twists are exquisitely executed. Her villains are smart and of questionable ethics. There is no black and white in her stories which makes it more exciting for me.

Honestly, I no longer read the blurbs of her books. I enjoy going in cold and holding on to a fast paced thriller. Ms. Coulter books are automatic purchase and reads. She delivers lengthy complex novels that cause a terrible book hangover when it ends. The conclusions always end in a bang and I'm reeling from it. Plus I want more, even after spending hours reading straight through. This latest one is another page turner which I highly recommend to all suspense and thriller readers.

Engaging, but not one of her best. Took me a long time to get into it and read it. I received an arc of this book from Netgalley for an honest opinion.

Enigma is a fast paced story. I can't wait to read more from Catherine Coulter. Enigma is a must buy book.

It did have slow parts, and it also had lots of action and suspense. A newborn baby - kidnapped. That's a horrible thing. There are two cases solved in this book, a bit like you would have from some noir books. I did like the mysteries. It had some good action and solving skills.

My copy came from Net Galley. My thoughts and options are my own, with this review being left because I wanted to.

I have always loved this series of books. Catherine Coulter is definitely one of my go to writers when I'm looking for something to read. Sherlock and Savich never fail to intrigue you. I've been reading this series since it first came out and I'm love that they get new stories every year. This was a fantastic book and I look forward to many more in the series.

Since it is a series, there is a lot of name dropping in the first 50 pages as the story gets set up for the FBI team to go after the escapee. Keeping track of them all can be a bit difficult.

Overall I really enjoyed the quick action, intelligent analysis, and how all the threads wove together.

This book was so hard to read, I just never was able to connect with the characters or the storyline. It is part of a long series but it just seemed so redundant that it just wasn't that interesting.

Fast-paced, always engrossing. Great story, superb story-telling ... the 2 most important elements for any book. Catherine Coulter scores a big win with this book.

I think I have read every Catherine Coulter book there is, and I never pass up a chance to read them over and over again. This is just another one of those books that I add to that lengthy list. Always good for a mystery I can't figure out, and this book has not one but two of them! I missed the little bit of romance that is usually in the FBI series books, hopefully it will be back in the next one.

Enigma by Catherine Coulter is book 21 in her FBI Thriller series. A strange, unstable man holds a pregnant woman as his hostage. FBI agent Savich is called in to help and is able to stop the situation. But the pregnant woman does not know the man and the motive is unclear. And the man has a strange substance in his blood, which only increases the mystery. This is the first book that I have read in this series and I really enjoyed it. I received a digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Working with Agent Cam Wittier (Insidious) and New York-based former Special Forces agent Jack Cabot, they must race against the clock to catch an international criminal and solve the enigma of the man called John Doe.

When Agent Dillon Savich saves Kara Moody from a seemingly crazy man, he doesn’t realize he will soon be facing a scientist who wants to live forever and is using “John Doe” to help him. But when the scientist, Lister Maddox, loses him, he ups the stakes and targets another to take his experiments to the next level.

It’s a race against time literally as Savich and Sherlock rush to stop him and save both present and future victims of his experiments. In the meantime, Cam Wittier and Jack Cabot must track a violent criminal through the Daniel Boone National Forest. When he escapes through a daring rescue, the agents have to find out who set his escape in motion and how it all ties into the murder of Mia Prevost, the girlfriend of the president’s Chief of Staff’s only son, Saxton Hainny. It’s international intrigue at the highest levels and they know they have to succeed or national security is compromised.

As much as I love crime drama and romantic suspense, I am not sure how it is that I have managed to never read a book by Ms. Coulter. Especially as she is considered to be the Queen of this genre.

The book was well written with a wonderful blend of suspense leavened with a dash of humor so that the reader can catch their breath. I feel that I was able to get to know the main characters rather well which really impressed me considering that ENIGMA is the twenty-first book in this series. Too many authors by this point in the series tend to slack off of the characters assuming that the readers already know them well. I

In fact, I have to give huge kudos to Ms. Coulter on just how well this book stands on its own. I do now want to read her back story but I didn't find it necessary to enjoy this book. I do feel that any of my readers that haven't been introduced to this series will still enjoy this book. And the followers of this series will love this new addition.

Yes it's true. This was my first book by Catherine Coulter alone. I heard that she was a good author and now I know. I was really psyched to receive this book and it did not disappoint at all!

I sped through this gripping thriller that has two major plots and lots and lots of twists. One of those twists was jaw dropping for me. I did not see it coming.

I stayed up WAY until the morning hours as I could not put this book down. And, it was worth it!
Excellent read for me.

Enigma is a fast paced thriller pitting the FBI Agents Savich and Sherlock and their teams against several seemingly unrelated crimes. An escaped bank robber, a doctor experimenting on human subjects, a kidnapping, a murder, the White House and the Russians have the FBI is working nonstop all over the Washington, D.C. area and rural Kentucky to apprehend the perpetrators.

This book moves quickly from the first page to the end, with several twists and turns that kept me guessing, along with several nail-biting moments. I liked the professionalism and the camaraderie of Savich and Sherlock and their teams and was rooting for them throughout the book. The other characters, dialogue and the situations the FBI Agents find themselves in are realistic, sometimes chillingly so, and all come together to make a first-rate thriller.

Although it is part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone, and I highly recommend it.

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
