A really cool book that has the plants from Shakespeare's plays. It is a reference book so hard to really read but a great book to add to any literary or nature collection!

I thought this was going to be a new book, not a reprint of an old classic, and I mean old classic, as it was printed first in 1896. I read it the first time over a decade ago when I was in school and enjoyed the botanical and literary references then and enjoyed it now.

The Plant-Lore and Garden -Craft of Shakespeare is extremely facinating and a pleasure to read. Not only does it do an amazing job of breaking down species to distinct and sub species, it also provides details of 16th century symbology and lovely illustrations. And, it makes me look more closely at the plants I grow in my own garden.

Shakespeare lovers will enjoy this book as will garden enthusiasts! So many references to plants in Shakespeare"s works; I never gave it any thought until I saw this book. It's a good addition to a collection of the plays and sonnets. Nicely researched! Make a great gift!

I'm sorry I cant review this, text is too small and faint to read on my kindle ereader, and I've tried on my larger kindle fire but I can't alter text size or type so can't read it.
