The CIA has something on Gaige so they pull him into a covert op with very little information and when he gets caught by billionaire, Alec, all hell breaks loose. Gaige wasn't chosen for the job by accident. In addition to being very good at hacking security systems, he's also hot. The CIA knows that Alec has a thing for hot nerdy computer guys. So in addition to having Gaige work with Alec they also want him to spy on Alec. Gaige and Alec have both been hurt in the past by trusting the wrong people. Their physical attraction for each other is off the charts and beyond sexy. Great storyline, character development, and red hot romance!

DNF. This story started off confusing for me and it got a bit worse from there. I couldn't end up finishing it

I read Dirty Deeds a few days ago, and I haven't thought about it since. This book just didn't stay with me.

Dimon is a strong writer, and she writes a good mystery. There's plenty of steam and a delicious enemies-to-lovers feel.

This book, which absolutely can be read as a standalone, is a spin-off from the Tough Lough series. One of the MCs, Alec, who runs a multi-billion dollar company that has something to do with food supply and shipping, is Rick Fine's ex in Guarding Mr. Fine.

Seth, Rick's boyfriend, makes an appearance in this book, and he's kind of a dick. I don't like it when an MC I've bonded with who already got his HEA is back in another book acting like a grade A douche.

It took me a while to get into this story; there was a lot of exposition and internal monologuing. The plot didn't really hold my interest. Maybe I just wasn't in the right mood. *shrugs*

The relationship goes from distrust to lust to love quickly, and the HEA (more of a HFN really) felt very fragile to me.

Recommended for suspense/mystery lovers who prefer a quick and dirty romance.

HelenKay Dimon never disappoints and this book certainly lived up to the high standards that previous books have set. There was a good balance of romance and suspense to keep me engaged and not wanting to put the book down.

Although this book is the first in a new series, it still had two key characters from "Guarding Mr. Fine," billionaire Alec Drummond and CIA agent Seth Lang. I can honestly say that I strongly disliked Seth in this book and have no clue why I liked him so much in the last. Alec played a small part in the last book, so it's not necessary to read that one before beginning "Dirty Deeds" but it does help in understanding Alec & Seth's working relationship.

Alec runs a big food-based company (I'm still not entirely clear on what they do with seeds) and someone is leaking information and harming the reputation of the company. Alec catches computer genius Gaige Owens trying to hack into their system in the server room. Gaige is there at the request of the CIA to get Alec's attention, but Alec doesn't know that right away and thinks Gaige is there to do harm. Neither guy can deny that they find the other attractive, but trust is hard to come by for both of them since they've both been hurt by those who they thought loved them.

At Seth's urging, Gaige begins investigating Alec's company to try and find the leak and figure out what's really going on at the seed fault. All the clues point to Alec being the culprit, but no one really believes that, so they have to try to get to the bottom of this before something really bad happens. Since Alec still doesn't trust Gaige completely, he makes Gaige move in with him (what could possibly happen in closed quarters with two guys who are attracted to one another...?).

They hit it off pretty quickly and these two are incredibly hot together (that bathroom scene, whew). Don't let the fact that Gaige is a computer hacker fool you. He's built, can fight and can shoot, so he's definitely not the type that gives up control and backs down easily or to just anyone. He gives Alec a run for his money, that's for sure. Alec is a dominating guy, but he really did have a soft side that he rarely allowed to come out. He was also very loyal to his brothers and close friends. I loved how fiercely protective Gaige was of Alec though, that was kind of surprising given how little they knew one another. He saved his life more than once and I think that proved to Alec that Gaige was a good guy who wasn't out to harm his company.

The suspense/action in this book was pretty good. The whole seed thing was a bit out there, but it worked and I learned that a place like that really did exist - who knew? I honestly didn't predict the outcome and who the bad guy was, so that speaks well of the author for keeping us guessing until the end.

The ending was sweet - I loved the 'three week' conversation - it was so cute, especially coming from these two alpha guys.

Loads or twists and turns, great strong characters and hot as hell sex scenes makes this a fabulous book. Alec and Gaige are two men that have troubled pasts dealing with lies, deception, espionage, hostel takeovers and family drama. They are thrown together to help the CIA deal with an international issue and the sparks fly. You will not believe the ending until you read it. This was an awesome book and I highly recommend it.
